Here's my question: why is there a leave game button/function if they are banning ppl from using it?, surely they need to remove this as I've legit had ppl tell me that you are free to leave any game you want due to the inclusion of this..it does lead to a lot of confusion.

There's a certain quota to hit, you're not being banned for using it once or twice a day, you're being banned if you're using it dozens of times a day, the normal user who has an issue once in a while wont be banned for using the leave button.

lol i only play at rank1 kiddo, solo, no swf. let me know when you git gud enough to do that. dont worry, its not hard, youll make it someday.

You've stated several times rank 1 is the place to play and considering you want SWF to be done away with I think it's safe to assume you also think Killer must be the harder game mode, as you're clearly trying to make it easier to stand a chance.

Therefore I can only conclude that because I play at rank one killer, which is obviously the harder game mode, it doesn't matter how I play survivor as I can clearly compete against the things you wish to remove.
It is very unfortunate that you, as a survivor main wish to make a game mode you can't even comprehend, easier so you can benefit and show off your spectacular super rare super duper super rank one badge.

That by the way, means absolutely sweet eff all because survivor and killer are both easy.

Also very noble of you to judge people without even slightly knowing them. Dann dude ironically you sound more toxic than the people you're complaining about.

Considering this is the bulk of what makes up yours and Jen's stream, this is truly the pot calling the kettle black. Neither one of you are capable of going 10-15 minutes without insulting and passing judgement on random strangers for how they play

I don't discriminate. If someone does a dumb thing, I'll say they did a dumb thing. If I do a dumb thing, I'll say I did a dumb thing. Half of it is an educational tool: "What this Claudette did was dumb, she should have done X, etc"

These people are beyond me... If you watch any streamer that plays a VS game they'll always comment on if someone does something stupid, it just so happens they're targeting you and Jen, therefore they're going to ignore every other streamer and act as if it's only something you two do, ridiculous.

If you're talking about the recent DC bans they're logged by a system and have absolutely nothing to do with malicious reports, and given the amount of new moderators they're getting, it's pretty evident they do manual bans as opposed to automatic bans except for the DCs.

Don't worry, I do truly believe you'll be good one day, anyone on planet earth can google my name and see that I play killer so I don't really mind you lying about it to make me look bad, it just invalidates what you say because you find it so easy to lie to try and prove a point.

Hey look, it's me playing really poorly as a killer, I figure if you're going to lie I might as well just disprove it by adding proof, don't worry - one day you'll make a valid point that doesn't consist of you lying through your teeth.

Holy #########, there's so many people in this thread with no awareness.

You claim someone who deranks in a game is a terrible person, so you decide they deserve no respect, shouldn't be allowed to speak, and deserve to be personally attacked and insulted outside of the game. Yeah no, you guys are way more toxic and detrimental to the community than anyone who DC's.

You got to remember that's another human you're talking to. Imagine if you were in their shoes and groups of people talked down to you every time you spoke out about a game you enjoyed. I don't care if you agree or disagree with someone, but do it with a little respect and civility. If you dislike someone then be the better person, don't behave worse than them.

Yep, they're absolutely blind to themselves. It's the same people who constantly suggest buffs and nerfs out of nowhere for everything, they have no idea about this game and think insulting people constantly is an acceptable reaction to people DCing.

I don't condone DCing but you shouldn't be personally attacking and going after people because they do it, the ban system will do it's job if it has too.

This game is not a symmetrical at all right now. Under the killer you don't feel like a threat just a small burden to survivors depending on would kill you play.

Honestly I would like to see all of the ranks that the Devs currently have.

Also I would like to see the streamers that they enlisted.

Developers never reached rank 1 and they gave fog whispers to streamers that DC to derank, not gonna name and shame since a mod will sacrifice me. It's nonsense currently but the game is getting better with every baby step.

    At least HybridPanda plays fair.

You have just as much power to report DCing survivors, too. You should probably make sure stuffs in order. As an unethical life pro tip though, if you DC the system tracks it, if you AFK you're less likely to be affected by it, if you're not doing anything you may as well AFK, get minor points and be done with it as opposed to DCing entirely.

DC bans have always been there, the bans were just following the regular durations and so you often wouldn't even know they happened. You could totally miss a 24 hour ban.

Holding the game hostage on either side is bannable. This includes a survivor wandering around the map for half an hour while the gates are powered and they're free to leave (not as in they're in the gates and you just aren't chasing them out). If you notice a survivor doing this, I'd recommend starting a recording. Windows 10 has a recorder built in if you don't have one of your own. Just press Windows + G to bring it up. It's not the best, but it'll do. Even if you lag, something's better than nothing. A few minutes is enough to prove it.

Same goes for if a killer is holding the game hostage (either blocking survivors in so they can't leave/move, or using doctor to specifically prevent survivors from powering generators but not killing <--- THIS IS FOR EXTREME CASES, like when the game goes on for half an hour and he's literally just shocking you over and over without any attempt to hit you).

Take that video, make a support ticket under Additional Player Report Information at https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us. And absolutely report in-game as well. Even if you can't grab a video for whatever reason, report them in-game. This logs the match.

Can you please clarify as to whether if you're the one being taken hostage, and you have to DC as there is no way to complete the match via your means the DC will mean nothing?

Also, I personally don't think this is happening to the extent that if you have to DC from a hostage match it's going to be enough so that you end up getting banned.

It really doesn't happen enough to get you DC banned. Loads of people play in red ranks every day and as one of the guys that goes through all the reports, I can safely tell you that it's not very common. In any case, the threshold is high enough to take situations like that into consideration. In order for that to get you banned, it would have to happen a lot.

Yea, I really didn't think it was happening that much.
Thanks for the clarification though, have a wonderful evening.

When the exit gates are open and hatch is there and the survivor stays in the match for over 1 hour how is it the killers fault..

Lets pretend this is a regular occurrence shall we?

This is what I said on the issue, and no saying "this always happens" will not convince me as I've NEVER had s survivor hide in a match longer than it has taken them to find the hatch.

"You can see here what the proper thing to do is, I assume that if you disconnect from a match being held hostage and you explain that in your report they'll probably ignore the DC. If they don't ignore DC's that have been induced by actual game hostage then I can't defend that and I would say that is disgusting behaviour to not stricken a dc from a players profile if it was "forced" by a hostage match."

But how useful is a report without a video? I'm almost 46-years-old. I have zero interest in ever recording a game that I am playing.

It's for additional evidence, it's not at all needed, I'm sure they have things in place to see whos earning points in a match etc, there's only certain things you need proof as if true they'll likely be banned immediately and banning on word of mouth is a very touchy subject.

Putting words in other people's mouths as usual.

Fine, so what is the killer supposed to do when the last Survivor is intent on prolonging the game indefinitely? And where are the countermeasures if a Killer holds the game hostage as well?

There was a post here not to long ago about a killer with his game being held hostage and when he messaged the Survivor, he was told he had to DC. Marth has video up on YT of the exact same situation. If the devs are cracking down on DCs, what are players supposed to do?

Sorry, what words did I put into your mouth? Your post literally states that survivors are forcing DCs and given the title of the post it implies you're blaming this "forcing to dc" as the reason the bans are happening, there are no words being put into anyones mouth.

Holding the game hostage is a completely separate thing, which you're supposed to get proof of and then report the survivor/killer for, survivors, from what I've seen very rarely "hold the game hostage" for no longer than the amount of time it takes them to find the hatch, and well killers can entirely block gameplay by holding survivors in a spot and not allowing them to play at all, again - record the proof and upload it.

You can see here what the proper thing to do is, I assume that if you disconnect from a match being held hostage and you explain that in your report they'll probably ignore the DC. • Fake the pickup, hit the survivor.
    Run Franklins.
    Tunnel the flashlights
    Slug?

  • Trying to force farming is one of those most annoying things I face when I play survivor.

If they seem like they want to do gens and start chases I would do that, if they seem ok with being farmed etc then I think it's fine.

I don't think you'll be banned for it but it is boooooring when a killer "lets" you live.

  • It's very tricky with DCing which is why you have to take a firm stance on it, anyone could say anything to try and get out of a ban, however I've seen people DC more than 4 times who are not banned, so I don't think four DC's is what got you banned and you're simply looking for an excuse.

I don't think I could get behind this.

The first one just feel cheap. It's one thing when the killer opts to use a perk slot for it, especially since it has counterplay. (Don't want to go against it? Break all the totems.) But as a freebie, it wouldn't be fair. I don't think I should get a free kill just because the game is almost over. Going way back to launch when NOED was always on with no hex, it's just going to be the crutch perk again, only this time it'll be a crutch mechanic. Even if it's just when the gates are open, someone else could open a gate while you're in a chase elsewhere.

For the second, I really don't want to see this. I have seen a lot of really close calls at exit gates, where the killer either just barely gets them or they slip out with a few less hairs on their butt cheeks. This would completely remove that. There would be no close calls, there would just be free kills. Again, I don't think I should get a kill in that instance because I didn't earn it. They got to the gate before I could down them, they got out. I shouldn't be rewarded for failure.

I think a better way to address the end game is with more subtle changes. For starters, a reduced attack cooldown, to help combat people taking a hit and to prevent someone from just making a beeline across the map to an open gate with no risk. Then a longer gate interaction by default (Remember Me would likely have to be tweaked so it's not excessive). After that, stick loud noise notifications on the gate controls when someone starts to open them.

With that, you would be able a little more threatening in the end game, but you wouldn't just be getting free kills that you don't deserve.

I like your ideas. It’s not just a “give me a kill” they make sense with current mechanics in the game. Also removing the “camp” penalty they’ve just added when 1 or less gens is left, so if a killer does want to secure a kill at end game they can without losing points.

That's what bloodwarden is for. I think making it happen passively when the killer gets close would remove the butt cheek clenching moments when someone's running to the exit gate with the killer hot on their tail.

i think your missing what he is saying . hes talking about the tbagging survivors who sit at the gate doing nothing except waiting for the killer to show up so they can get a fast chase bonus . at that point in the game all perks are useless except noed and only if they are not hugging the exit itself like 99% that stay behind do .

Nah, I get that, but it's also tricky. How do you make it punish people who are teabagging but not those that go to the gates to heal up before going back for a rescue or take a hit, for example? Or even someone just standing there so the killer can hit them for some free points? You could try to get some fancy teabag detecting technology in there, but that's more effort than it's worth and could also create some unwanted situations. (e.g. Survivor is running from the killer and is just barely going to get out, someone else was sitting there teabagging at the gate so now it's blocked.) If they're teabagging at the games, I'd just hit them. Takes a second, and then they either have to leave or they get hooked.

Blood Warden needs a rework. It should be activated, when the killer presses a button.

If survivors want to heal themselves up, to save someone else, then they should do it in an unsafe environment. Not at the gate, where even if they get downed, they escape.

Devs said, that pallets are not supposed to be save places. Why are the gates?

I won't comment on blood warden since I haven't played with it much, but I have seen it completely turn around games a couple times. I think making it on-demand would be a bit much.

If they're already in the gates, you basically lost. That's why it's safe. They powered the generators, opened the gate, and they are quite literally an inch away from winning. If you hit them, they either have to leave or they'll lose. I don't see any reason to give the killer kills in that situation because they really did not earn them.

It's a "no risk, high reward" situation. Survivor doesn't risks anything by staying at the gate and healing. But gains a lot if he goes back to unhook.

Survivor perks work on demand. Deliverance, Dead Hard, Lithe, Sprint Burst and Self Care.

I don't see what you're getting at with survivor perks being on-demand. You could say the same about killer perks. Pop Goes the Weasel is on-demand. So are Overcharge, Rancor, and Bamboozle by the same logic. Even then, Sprint Burst is not on-demand, it activates when you first sprint. The equivalent here would be if you could activate Sprint Burst whenever you want by pressing a button like Dead Hard. In any case, I don't want to see a "Yeah, you beat me, but I pressed a button so now I win." I don't want kills I didn't earn.

If a survivor does choose to leave the gate, they are taking a risk. If they stay there, they're safe. Leaving the gate is not risk free.

All the perks you named require a animation lock. Like borrowed time.
    Not exactly on demand.

Anyway, senzu joined the conversation and I'm really to tired for this kind of discussion.

Btw, you might want to take a look at the survivor forum. Bots running rampage.
    I’m lovely!
besides, sprint burst requires you’re not exhausted, lithe requires you’re not exhausted, dead hard requires you’re not exhausted, self care requires you to get hit and juke a killer, deliverance requires you to not get hooked and to safely unhook a survivor.

    not exactly on demand

It's a "no risk, high reward" situation. Survivor doesn't risks anything by staying at the gate and healing. But gains a lot if he goes back to unhook.

Survivor perks work on demand. Deliverance, Dead Hard, Lithe, Sprint Burst and Self Care.
They risk dying if they go back in? 🤦🏻‍♂️
  • Locking what you refer to as "key perks" behind DLC that costs money turns this into a "Pay 2 Win" situation.

  • @DarkWo1f997 said:
I can assure you that neither killer nor survivor enjoy this.

Agreed, killer could smack the survivor, survivor could walk away and do gens.
Unfortunately both sides seem to get stubborn when hatch is open.
Neither of them are entitled to their "goal".
Hatch needs fixed asap, you can't remove because then end game with 1 survivor and not all gens done turns into hide a seek, and obviously it doesn't work as it stands now.

I've BM'd at the exit gates, never have I thought "Can't wait to get these 10 chase points". Some times I think you guys look too far into things.

If you walk towards them they will leave, if you have NOED bate them, I've gone "afk" at the gate with NOED before just to have survivors walk out towards me and I get easy end game points.

The best thing you can do if you want it to end is chase through the gate, some survivors at exit gates are waiting until someone else leaves so they know everyone is safe, it's not always about BMing the killer.

im not sure where you are getting all the glory matches from . whenever I play killer , mostly because of dailies , I can see them sitting in the gate and I can count to 4 and I can subtract those who have escaped to see what I am in fact looking at is the remaining survivors . and with that I will then go across the map and sit , if they want a chase then they have to come out of the gate , but I have had matches that lasted 20 mins like that also , and more then I care for .

So basically, lets all complain about survivors not leaving the exit gates, but also, you could end it by literally walking towards them? Solid logic, lol.

i think your missing what he is saying . hes talking about the tbagging survivors who sit at the gate doing nothing except waiting for the killer to show up so they can get a fast chase bonus . at that point in the game all perks are useless except noed and only if they are not hugging the exit itself like 99% that stay behind do .

I don't think DBD is the game for you.

Why? Because I'm pissed off people can cheat?

Kinda tells you what kind of players DBD has, then.

No, because you assume the worst even though it probably isn't happening.

    Must be 4 man swf
Must have dc'd because of obsession (Are you only running obsession perks?)
Must be using tactical comms and relaying information about every blade of grass the killer moves
Must be telling each other my perks

This has happened in probably like 5% of my matches, and in 2300 hours I think that's pretty damn good. As a killer I don't dodge SWF, I don't dodge any lobbies regardless of items, clothing, anything. I still kill pretty well, of course theres some matches that are bad but that's expected because we all make mistakes.

To simply imply survivors are cheating because they "DC" or they're in a 4 man because one "DC" is ignorant.
DC'ing as an SWF serves no purpose, I'd rather have the extra man than see what perks a killer has. It's ridiculous, play on rank reset, learn some new tactics and move on.

You really did not get any of what I said.

I know they are a 4 man because THEY SAY SO AND ######### TALK AT THE END OF MATCHES.

I know the obsession disconnected to deny me the Obsession perks because, a little louder THEY SAY SO AND ######### TALK AT THE END OF MATCHES

And those few times they DON'T, how come it's 'just happens' to be the Obsession who loses connection?

No, I'm finding non-SWF's where the Obsession 'just happens' to disconnect after 30 seconds and they all 'just happen' to be raging ######### willing to ALL #########-talk me and pat themselves on the back for 1 whole Survivor getting away.

I think I just rolled my eyes so hard, I have a headache from how immensely off-the-mark and naive your reply was.

Dude Obsession = Decisive Strike. People with DS disconnect ALL the time, when not in SWF, so much so that its a running joke of when the guy with DS will DC

Gods damnit. Post got eaten again.

Let me say it slow and loud for you:
WHEN I, ME, MYSELF (this means me, not them, me.) HAVE AN OBSESSION PERK, AND THE PLAYERS ARE IN A SWF GROUP, THE OBSESSION WILL LEAVE TO REMOVE MY PERKS MORE THAN HALF THE TIME

They may not know WHAT they removed, but they know they removed SOMETHING. And they usually know this because, again, I'll say it loud for you THEY DON'T RUN ANY PERKS THAT MAKE THEM THE OBSESSED

You act like 'Well, DS is a thing, so clearly they can't NOT run DS, know he has Obsession perks and leave! It's not possible by the laws of reality! Pshaw!'

I know what happens. I AM [BAD WORD] THERE, HAVING IT HAPPEN TO ME

I still don't understand your incredibly stupid problem with the situation. If there were a perk that immediately killed a player and then the perk got disabled, it would be the best perk in the game. This is literally what you are complaining about.

No. I am saying, if I have a perk with an Obsession. And someone is my obsession, and they don't have DS. They disconnect to remove my perks using Obsession.

    This is cheating.

Again, what is your problem with this? You got a free, instant kill on a player in exchange for a perk slot. Remember Me, Play With Your Food, Save the Best for Last, etc, all are objectively weaker than an instant kill on a player.

Regardless, DCing to remove perks in any form is cheating.

The sheer fact you make it out like every match is like this really just leads me to believe that no matter how many good matches you have, or how many buffs killers get, you'll still find something to complain about.

They aren't DCing to "remove" your perk, they're probably using DS and missed it, what Obssession perk are you using that is so damn powerful at end game you need it? lol

  • @Mister_xD said:

I mean, you could run towards them and smack them out?

I don't get why so many people get upsetti spaghetti over ground humpers, if they're triggering you, it's working!

here is the problem: just as always, this is wasting our time. time we could need to approach a different survivor who hasnt already won. if we dont smack you out though, you will come back and bodyblock for that guy, or farm him with your BT, etc.
by standing directly at the escape line (the line you need to cross to succesfully escape the game) you just show us killers how superior you are in that scenario, since there is nothing, literally NOTHING we can do about that. you've won, so why rub it in our face over and over again? this is just unnecessary and a BM.
also it reveals noed, and if we dont want to reveal it, well, one more person to find my hex when im about to hook that guy i caught with noed.
maybe you can understand that better now. :)

So, you fear BT at end game, understandable, but also complain about survivor in the exit gate and want them to leave?

Why should they leave if there's supposedly this other survivor in the match that you're looking for? They'll either wait for someone to go down and try to save, like good survivors should, or they'll stand there anyway to taunt you before they go.

So survivors aren't allowed to make sure everyone is safe? Survivors have to leave because you want the last guy that is apparently running around the map aimlessly at end game? and if it's end game, and you have noed, down him and hard camp? if you know where your totem is take him towards that, if they body block hit them, theyll go down? lmfao

So it's basically a bug that you just showed even more people how to do, well done.

Nothing against you, but I noticed you recently being very pessimistic. Please be happy that people discuss these problems here on the forum, as this exact thing (survivors body blocking Freddy outside dreamworld) happened to me like 8 out of 10 times recently

Respectfully, there is a bug section that actual devs read so they can look into these things.

Hey, do devs even read abuse reports and the like?

I'm tired of my Obsession disconnectling like a tiny child to cheat me out of my Obsession-based perks.

And it's clear it happens in SWF modes (such a really [BAD WORD] stupid idea, Devs), where one player will take the hit of a disconn to give his buddies an easier time.

    oh my god, stop.
People rarely disconnect in SWF just trying to find every excuse under the sun to blame SWF, it's easy to beat, this is a case of the "get good".
and reporting people for disconnecting as "abuse" is the dumbest thing ever and will most likely have your reporting abilities limited.

There you go again. Disconnecting like that is an actual abuse and renders most of the killer obsession perks as useless. You are just biased and I am not going to talk to you anymore...

Omfg, it's not abuse at all. It's unsportsman like. I'm not being biased I'm simply stating that if you think it's "abuse" that's stupid.

They LITERALLY STATE IN THE RULES NOT TO REPORT DISCONNECTS. PLEASE continue to tell me how I'm biased about warning some entitled killer not to get their report permissions revoked.

Let me say this louder, since you can't seem to understand where I'm coming from:

IF SOMEONE DISCONNECTS TO RENDER YOUR PERKS USELESS. IT'S [BAD WORD] CHEATING AND ABUSING A BADLY CODED SYSTEM

Let me say this clearly - they track DCs and if someone does it enough they will be banned. Nobody knows what your perks are until they DC, and seeing as "every killer runs DS" which I've seen you claim they have no idea whether it's because of their DS or your perks so please stop being so whiny.

Do you mean ''every survivor runs DS''? Cause that got me quite confused there...

Why is disconnecting over and over again bannable then? If it isn't abuse then everyone should just do it, right? And it's abuse cause it lowers your rank and makes you play with lower ranked people.

What aren't you understanding? I don't like people that DC, I was simply telling someone that if they continue to report someone for DCing they may earn themselves a punishment. I'm not arguing for or against DCing, just informing, get off my ass.

You are saying that it's not reportable for abuse, which it is because it is abuse. It is ALSO reportable for unsporsmanlike behaviour

Did you read the rules or is that beyond you and you'd rather argue? They literally ask people not to report DCing as they track it themselves, good god man.

    I'm sorry but no.

But a little ######### disconnects because he's the Obsession (which as happened multiple times.) so his friends have an easier time, he's [BAD WORD] cheating.

And no one does this in non-SWF modes because they won't take the hit for strangers.

This is an SWF and Obsession problem. And [BAD WORD] everyone who does it.

######### are you complaining about, if someone DCs its a 3v1 with 5 gens and you win the game. Who cares about your perks.

It's a 3v1 with the 3 in voice chat. Then basically ensures the final survivor gets away because they can say 'I found the hatch, so just try to get off the hook. We;ll deny the Killer bloodpoints'

And before SenzuDuck says no one does that, you know how I know they do?

They #########-talk me after the match, taunting me about the bloodpoints lost because 1 got away scot free, and they ######### my perks over with a bitchconnect.

Sure, I don't need to hook everyone, but disconnecting to get around Perks is CHEATING plain and simple.

And this game was never meant to have SWF. It should either be removed, or allow Killers to opt-out so we don't have to deal with cheating and greifing little douchebags.

Lol, again with the "every match i've ever played is SWF" good god you're destined to always be bad at this game if this is your outlook.
