Your concerns are all valid, but they might not be as doom and gloom as you think.

    1) Yes, you'll be matched up against survivors of relatively equal skill to your own. Do you sweat in your matches all the time or sometimes? So will the opponents you face.

    2) You can still "have fun", but you'll be matched against opponents of relatively equal skill to your own. Don't worry about winning and you'll be fine.

    3) This won't be a problem if scores are separated by killer. The only think players will have to worry about is knowing that every killer they face is being used by a skilled player. I use Hag as an example and am utter trash with Nurse and Billy.

    4) Is what will happen. SWF groups will grow in popularity when they're faced with stronger killers. This also means that the obvious strength of those groups will also become more apparent to the devs through data and will begin to see rebalancing to see balanced matches between solo, swf, and killers. Months of suffering might lead to a better game in this case.

@SpaceCoconut While I do agree on the points you make, there's also major downsides to them. I'm going to keep each point separated:

    1) Let me rephrase what I said, as your point is valid but it wasn't the point I was trying to communicate: People who main high-tier killers and have dedicated skill into them can only be 'matched' by highly skilled survivors, regardless of whether or not they're in a group. Because of this, I believe that there will be no wiggle room left for casual matches (like the game is 'supposed' to be) BECAUSE the only survivors that have that amount of skill AND will want to constantly play against those types of killers will be death squads. If we're talking about separated killer ranks, a Nurse player like me would ONLY play against highly competitive survivors that ONLY play against Nurse because of how far above she is from any other killer in terms of potential. I believe this will be, understandably, unfun. I have nothing against playing with equally matched opponents, but if I am against playing against no one but SWF groups that constantly use the same meta over and over again without any room for something that is even remotely different from that meta, it will kill the game for me. Hopefully that makes sense, because it was hard to put that into words.

    2) As a Nurse, even if I don't get a full-on 'win' I'm still going to be matched against the same top-tier SWF meta over, and over, and over again if the MMR goes how I'm expecting it to. That is less like playing against people equally matched, and more like having the exact same experience EVERY GAME without any wiggle room for anything fun, new, or interesting. The only way at that point I can not worry about winning AND enjoy playing is if I play in a way that isn't optimal (Leading to myself being slammed by my opponents), and that completely gets rid of any enjoyment I could have. Even if they did start to balance SWF at this skill rank, it would be a grueling process of having the same type of game EVERY game compared to the diverse amount of games that I get now; Right now you can have different survivors with different play-styles and enjoy learning to counter each of them, and I'm worried I'll be forced to learn to counter ONE boring meta play style that every squad will use every single game.

    3) I don't know how your point correlates to what I said, but maybe I'm just dumb. My concern is that, because the top-tier solo survivors that know how to play against each killer will only be paired up with players that use top-tier killers (because only they can match their skill), they won't want to play the same killers every match and they'll leave/smurf. If this happens, we'll have an even bigger SWAT problem than we have right now in the high ranks.

    4) Yes, that's the best-case scenario. But, first of all, will the developers even consider rebalancing the game around the top-tier SWF groups? I have a trust issue with the devs because of the way they've handled SWF balancing (Ignoring it unless UTTERLY NECESSARY), but I do have some hope that happens one day. Second of all, will the top killers WANT to stay and play against that type of SWAT meta EVERY game? They might equal in skill (somewhat), but that doesn't mean it will be enjoyable when killers have to face that same SWF meta constantly with no real change or room to have a casual and fun match. For example, a SWAT team with 4 OoO, comms, rare items with ultra-rares, and perks that have synergy with each other is not fun to play against, even if you do end up winning the match. I would NOT stay around and play that type of game every single day, knowing that one day in the future they POSSIBLY will be nerfed to some reasonable degree.

How they will grade "skill" is the big question none of us know the answer to.

    True.

SOME of this would be irrelevant if they find a good way to measure 'skill', but even then I feel the end result would give the same problems no matter how they determine skill. Maybe it's just PTSD from all the past changes that have broken matchmaking

  • High ranks atm are very diverse in skill, regardless of if it's an SWF team; You can get people that have 50 hours in the game with a red-rank squad, or you can have a death squad. Either way, enjoy the diversity while it lasts.

  • @Blueberry said:

MMR will not be a good change for killers.

Most people know playing killer in red ranks right now is exhausting to put it lightly. The game is very unbalanced at high ranks which is what causes it to be such a bad experience for killers. The issue is slightly covered up though because of the terrible matchmaking putting bad survivors at high ranks.

What this new MMR system will do is making it so now you'll be playing almost every game against the SWF deaths squads.

This is what I'm concerned about.

I don't believed the game is VERY unbalanced, it's just not balanced for death squads. I suppose if the competitive death squads are at the top of the MMR though, there could be something like a debuff after a certain MMR level if you're in a team to make it more even. I doubt it's going to happen, but it's a dream.

However, that makes me wonder: If you go into an SWF with diverse 'skill levels', how will they be matched? Will they go against killers with the max amount of skill in the group, or will it average out?

  • This probably belongs in off-topic, but I won't judge

  • @JustCats said:

Well once the "matchmaking is fubar, whaddya gonna do" excuse is gone I'd imagine legitimate balance issues will become clearer. But yeah, if you're super super good you'll probably have to play against super super good survivors. If that's extra unpleasant, maybe they'll fix the game. Or maybe they'll introduce killer-specific matchmaking so you can just hop on a different killer.

Killer-specific matchmaking would make certain killers unplayable, which is one of the main concerns in the post. If those top killers are separated in rank from the rest, it will make those killers (and top-tier survivor squads) extremely sweaty and tedious to play as/against because there's no other type of killer that can have that kind of skill and no other survivors that can challenge that type of skill except squads.

    @Nurgling7 said:

I honestly dont expect any of these questions to be answered. The devs have already said the MMR will be hidden and we will have no basis for how it works. They will probably roll it out and just say, "Its working, trust us."

Our only hope is something like Leaksbydaylight can find out what the value is based on.

I don't have much hope with the recent decisions being made not being... Great, for a lack of a better word.

  • @immortalls96 said:

Pretty much everyone's concerns, solo survivor will improve but the level of stress on the killers part will only grow, however..this may be the nudge the devs need to see what weve been talking about when we say only a couple cast members can hack it when survivor plays to full potential

Hopefully, though I have to admit the devs aren't exactly known for listening to that kind of community feedback. I haven't really seen anyone talking about this though, so I thought I would bring it up.

    @RockoRango

Camping is a horrible strategy if you start off by camping, but if you have a nice set up to do it (no pallets around, looping set ups) and the timing is right, it can be quite strong. Even if it is factually going to make you lose more than win, many people who camp tend to do it to make sure the survivor doesn't have a fun experience. So winning is irrelevant for the type of camping I am referring to.

When I said DS directly counters, I meant for those 'scummy' scenarios where I personally feel that built-in mechanics are way too much, like slugging simply because you felt like it. Camping/Hovering around the hook because you want to force a survivor to hit 2nd stage. Etc

I don't hate scenarios in particular, but I do think it's funny when someone acts like "Here is this ONE scenario" and why I think this perk is a godly perk. Well... everyone can do that with virtually any perk.

That same logic applies to survivors that abuse DS, but even worse: Even if it is factually going to give you a clear advantage, many people who have DS tend to be extremely toxic and abuse 60 seconds of godmode to make sure the killer doesn't have a fun experience. The perk itself is designed fairly, but toxic survivors mainly use it to make the game as annoying and boring as possible. Winning can be viewed as irrelevant when it comes to DS aswell if you focus on the category of it being annoying and scummy when you abuse it, but it ALSO falls under the category of a crutch-win perk.

I know you meant that, but my point was that those 'scummy' scenarios aren't the only scenarios where DS comes into foul play: A killer can be hooking like normally, and STILL you will have someone who does something stupid. I can show you how having DS alone will lead people who want to make the killer experience trash will abuse it: Someone who was just unhooked, because the killer is doing good, unhooks someone else while they have DS. Now TWO people have DS (And one possibly also has BT), so you can't touch half the team in front of you without being punished for the survivor making an idiotic and frankly troll move. You can be more scummy with DS, a PERK, than one of the two roles in the entire game because it can allow ANYONE to abuse the killer AND their teammates for no reason other than to be a downright douche.

Lastly, you can NOT do ANYTHING with any perk that even COMPARES to the amount of power DS adds to the game. It has such good synergy with things such as Adrenaline, Soul Guard, Sprint Burst (For when someone stands still, clicks at you to down them and force you to take the DS), Syptic Agent, Hope, Head-On, And the list goes on. All of these scenarios are ONLY possible because of DS being BS, and denying that would only show true bias towards one side.

  • DS is irrelevant to the description, as it's not an anti-tunnel perk; It's a 60 second godmode. You can be downed, but you can't be acted upon further until those 60 seconds are up (excluding moris). It's a perk that has power EVEN WHEN NO ONE HAS THE PERK, because people are always going to be afraid of wasting time by 'tunneling' and getting DS'd by someone who obviously is just abusing the power they have to waste your time (or get an easy win).

    @Johnny_XMan said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1399568#Comment_1399568

    @IMhereRUN

Tell that to the red rank killers I face all the time that know how to play around BT and immediately slug a DS'er.

Camping can be a good strategy if you know how to play the game... and by that I mean play what many consider "dirty".

DS isn't perfect, but so are other killer built-in mechanics, some which DS directly counters.

Camping is a horrible strategy, no matter what your opinion is; it's factually going to make you lose more than it makes you win.

Your point right there, "some which DS directly counters", completely ruins the point of the perk; it's supposed to counter toxic tunneling, or dirty plays that make the game for the survivor unfun. Instead, it counters literally EVERYTHING a killer can do to progress the game other than slug for 60 seconds unless you want a 4 second stun and another chase (which can be devastating if a survivor is near a bunch of pallets or jungle gyms). That's why you see red rank killers slugging and sometimes always going after the unhooker instead (which is the right thing to do). Even then, the unhooker could have DS and ruin the match for the killer.

You seem to hate 'scenarios', but I'll leave you with this:

I can be doing fantastic, and hook 2 of 3 survivors left. Because I give mercy and let 2 of them be unhooked, one survivor baits me into downing them in front of the hatch and DS's me maybe right before their DS ends. They flashlight blind me, their SWF buddies come up towards me with a key, and all quickly jump into the hatch after clicking furiously.

Is that what you call fun? Because that's very similar to what happens at exit gates and areas with a ton of pallets. You may think that it's balanced because you use it frequently as survivor, but it isn't fun on the killer side.

  • @Acromio said:

    Who?

Anyway, it's nothing new, really. OoO Is busted just like every other survivor meta perk.

    Absolute Madlad

  • Nurse is not excluded from this problem

because people who use OoO on this map usually sit in spots that are unblinkable (like between lockers), forcing you to chase them by foot. You can still catch them if you know what you're doing, but even if you do it's extremely annoying and stupid.

OoO used to be broken on ALL killers because no terror radius gave you infinite OoO. It's not broken, it just has too much power (like DS).

They already said in the ingame news that the Konami code is reviewed as well.

And I'm pretty sure it has a reason why they delay the fix that much. My guess would be that they already have fixes in place and can't just undo them to release a quick fix for a single item. They have release cycles and changes need to go through QA before they can be released and the cake is added to the next hotfix release.

Jokes incoming in the QA statement, but let's be serious: if they would just spam hotfixes without a development plan, the game would be even worse and the "cake fix" would probably just break the game even more. Or cause more chaos for the next hotfix after the cake fix

I was also pointing out that hotfixes should have more than just c a k e because they take so long to get through, but rather be a bit more thought out and include at least a few bug fixed that are important right now.

  • I would say that I’m an extremely skilled Nurse main (No flexing intended) and I stream Nurse often, but twitch has deleted most, if not all, of my past broadcasts recently... I’ll have to stream more to qualify, I suppose. I’m very small, but I do things sometimes and would appreciate a shoutout.

I’ll stream tonight if my broadcasts got deleted; last time I checked, they were all gone.

    twitch.tv/rockorango

  • @twistedmonkey said:

That all depends on whether the bug is a simple fix like the cake so it can be done quickly and then pushed when approved.

If it takes so long to get it approved, the hotfix should have more than just a fix for the cakes. I’m hoping they’ve also packed in some sort of small fixes to make at least one or two of the sound bugs be bearable.

  • @NekoGamerX said:

It has been quite ridiculous lately since the event started. Any hot fox for it yet? Not played since thursday

The next hotfix is to fix the cakes not being the correct amount, no word on it containing any bug fixes.

    Yay

  • I believe that the killers that played fairly stopped playing once they got their crowns, simply because of the ridiculous amount of bugs and server stuttering atm.

  • @NinjaDette1 said:

From matches my internet is always fine. But lately out of nowhere it’s been going out right in the middle of matches anyone else have this kind of issue? I also did not receive the short ban either.

The servers can’t handle the load the event has brought on, and is forced to kick people out as a result or eventually crash (at least, that’s my theory). The servers have also been stuttering for everyone as far as I can tell, so it will probably fix itself shortly after the event is over.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

I understand that there are other major bugs they should be fixed, but the Cake Bug is by far, their biggest priority.

We will see next week if they fix some bugs or just the cake bug.

All we can do is Wait...

    I suppose so.

I find it ridiculous that, instead of fixing the bugs that are actually making some people irritated and not playing the event, they just go towards ONE bloodpoint offering. People who don’t care about bloodpoints because they either have all their characters at max (like me) or want to be able to hear in the first place are being left out, especially when their excuse for not pushing out hotfixes for these bugs is that it takes forever to push an update to every platform yet they’re pushing out a hotfix for a cake instead of the GAME-BREAKING SOUNDS and cake.

I haven’t touched the game because of these stupid sound bugs and the servers being absolutely broken under this kind of load. Being a top-rank Nurse, if I can’t blink the game is over (and I’d rather D/C than deal with it). Thanks for the cakes though!

Nah big winner for console killer and I think all in general rn is spirit with nightmare behind that (would put billy behind her but he recently got some weird bugs and devs haven’t really addressed them yet so we will see) you can’t just have these one few amazing players or games and call someone the best it’s all about how everyone consistently plays them and even on stats she was dubbed the worst of all consoles And that was with hex ruin of all things

Then the tier lists you're calling out are biased based off of how many people are able to play the killer correctly rather than the actual strength of the killer, regardless of whether or not it's based off of console.

  • @RizeAki said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1392300#Comment_1392300

My point is nurse on consoles not pc I said that already lol on pc yes she is significantly better id dub her A rank on their I don’t really think any killer is S rank anymore cuz nothing breaks the game or is over used like she was before but on console she is ridden with bugs that Make her pretty unplayable and almost no one plays her there anymore

The same bugs she has on console are the ones she has on PC, she's just easier to control on PC. You could argue EVERY killer is a tier less on consoles simply because it's harder to control, meaning that Nurse is still above every other killer on console because of her ability.

    ...With regen add-ons

  • @RizeAki said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1392288#Comment_1392288

All in all she is B tier to me that’s my opinion she isn’t as strong as she use to be and everyone wants her to still be and is very inconsistent and buggy everyone has a right to their opinion but I have to ask what console are you on?

I wasn't trying to invalidate your opinion, simply saying that she can still be as strong as she was before if someone knows how to use her. I play on PC, and I stream my Nurse games on PC (Although not recently because of the sound bugs).

    @caz_ said:

Nurse = High skillcap - High reward

Spirit = Low skillcap - High reward

Nurse is the best killer if you're good with her.

Spirit is good if you know how to play the game.

what would you prefer to play with?

Depends on if someone wants to actually have to work to succeed or literally stand still and get free mindgames. Spirit is one of, if not the most braindead killers out there imo, and she is both unfun to play as and against.

  • @RizeAki said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1392277#Comment_1392277

Well yeah that was my exact point of why she is lower tier for me cuz she isn’t playable for everyone it’s all about consistency that’s like saying I 4K with clown easily a game and now he is S tier it’s just not true cuz every other game will definitely not be like that

The point of a Tier list is to rank killers based off of the very best of that killer, not about how playable it is. You could make a 'playable' tier list, but it would have nothing to do with how strong a killer can actually be.

  • @RizeAki said:

Another thing it’s been months since I’ve seen a nurse that’s not on customs so that kinda goes to my point of not being strong enough to warrant playing

Just because a lot of people don't play Nurse anymore doesn't mean she's not strong enough; it's the fact Nurse is only for a certain type of person at this point in time that's hard to come across in this game. You have to have an extreme amount of patience and accuracy to learn Nurse today, and before the rework those factors were much more dull because you could make mistakes. At this point in time, most of the people who still play Nurse played her before the rework because it was much easier to learn her.

  • @immortalls96 said:

People just assume shes still best but in practice it's not realistic..shes fallen from graces becayse the devs handed free gen time to survivors while also increasing her already brutal learning curve , so any survivor who knows her even a little will make you lose games unless you slug like a mad man , every blink is 5+ seconds of free gen time..start counting it out and you'll see the problem..because those 5 seconds only take into account how long shes doing nothing at all

    @SewerSwans said:

Nurse is S, in my opinion. Every top player I read tier lists from considers her S. Tier lists are based on the top level of play, and at the top level of play, nobody denies she's godly. You watch someone like Dowsey play her, who not only hits his blinks, but knows exactly how to blink to establish line of sight and prevent counterplay. You see him get a 10 second chase on a healthy player, in a god loop. I'm not going to tier Nurse based on how many people can't play her, I'll tier her based on the best, like every other killer.

    @Komodo16 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1388958#Comment_1388958

Yeah spirit is almost as good as pre nerf nurse and even with the nerf nurse is just harder to use but only slightly worse

    1. Nurse is still the best killer in the game hands down with practice. Anyone who thinks that just hasn't seen a god Nurse recently, and rightfully so because of the lack of attention she gets. Gens aren't an issue as Nurse because you can apply a great deal of pressure on everyone at once; when chases last less than a minute or two, there's a lot of room to pressure at least 2 survivors at all times.
    2. There is no 'best' Nurse, btw. I know that wasn't your point, but at this point you have to be a certain type of person to play Nurse correctly. I still don't know what type of person that is, but I know it's different. God Nurses can still, and will always, dominate regardless of the rework or the bugs (although the bugs are a gigantic pain). Besides, a lot of the bugs have been toned down since the last patch.
    3. Spirit is both worse AND easier to play. I despise her for those reasons, as she's incredibly boring.
    4. I saw a comment here that her lunge is bugged, but it was intentional; I believe she has a 33% shorter lunge? It looks wack because it seems the hitbox doesn't match the lunge, but it doesn't really matter that much if you can blink.

I’m just gonna repost my comment here:

I genuinely believe that giving people who bought the game in 2016 should have legacy.

I bought the game on launch, didn’t get my legacy because it wasn’t worth getting bloody clothing (I had NO idea there were legacy plans in the future), and then they diss the 2016 community. Long-time players who didn’t get their legacy are completely separated from 2016 players who got legacy already (because people believe legacy means someone is better no matter when you started playing), and this just killed it for me and a lot of other veteran players because it felt more like they are prioritizing new players and shoving away old players who rightfully earned this special clothing (and didn’t get it because they were either smart or lost it).

Some people complain that legacy is just a piece of clothing and we should get over it, but that’s not the reason people feel special if they get legacy: the devs commemorated us for staying with them at a time where the game was heavily unbalanced, and gave us a TOKEN OF APPRECIATION. BIG FOCUS ON THAT. I, and many others, simply never got any appreciation because of the devs’ lack of understanding when it comes to legacy. I DID THAT GRIND FOR HALF A YEAR, and I feel treated like scum because of the lack of understanding.

I hope one day the devs will treat people who have stuck around since the beginning like they should be: people who helped the game rise to what it is today. Without us, there would be no Dead by Daylight.

Fantastic PR btw, I just have to point this out: Support will restore event items that hardly outdated legacies, like the first anniversary event (In which you released those 'exclusive cosmetics' anyway), they believe that the black market for those cosmetics were hurting the game economically so they release them to everyone, and STILL people who lost their legacy DON'T GET IT and the black market for hacked legacy profiles is still flourishing.

  • @SpaceCoconut said:

Any logic applied to Event exclusive cosmetics can be applied to Legacy cosmetics.

If you're going to unlock event cosmetics for everyone because some people lost theirs, you should do the same for the people who lost Legacy cosmetics due to the EXACT SAME BUG and simply release them to everyone.

If you want to keep Legacy exclusive to reward long time players, you should do the same for players who were present at the events when they happened because they too are long time players.

I totally agree with this completely, as it will both keep the cosmetics exclusive and also give them to people who lost them due to bugs. If someone can prove they bought the game before legacies (in 2016) (Which you can), they should be entitled to legacy cosmetics.

why are you taking work so literally lmao? when you clean your house do you get paid for it, is there a contract? It's still work lmfao.

back then the game wasn't well established, resetting your character was a risk because who knew if the game would survive back then, it was a way bigger deal then you make it seem

Uh... Yeah? A lot of people didn't prestige back then (because it was too much work to go through the bloodweb again), so even if they were level 50 they didn't get legacy. This was not fair. Then you have the people, like myself, who have been playing since the game got out of beta and should've recieved legacy cosmetics, but didn't because we didn't think we'd have to backup our save file just to make sure our legacies didn't straight-up disappear for no apparent reason (which they did). Maybe they should treat legacies in a different manner, but in a manner in which, if one can prove they had/deserved legacy, they receive it. I don't know HOW many times I've told people who ask that I've been playing the game since launch, and then say I'm fibbing because I don't have any legacy cosmetics.

I'll always be EXTREMELY pissed when someone gloats about having Legacy Nurse, because I deserved it and didn't get it, compared to BHVR unlocking the 2016 Halloween cosmetics and me not caring because it simply doesn't matter.

Legacy - months of work to obtain

    Event - 10 hours max.

they aren't even the same, not even close.

The point is that LOTS of people didn't get their legacy skins, and they never took the time to give it to people who have the proof because it's too difficult to prove with the only information you're able to provide. Also, it was a reply to this:

    @Peanits said:

We didn't give out the old event cosmetics so everyone could have them, we gave them out because people had lost their event cosmetics and we weren't able to isolate the people who had earned them with the data we had from the time. Giving out the old event cosmetics was purely to return them to people who had lost them.

"We gave them out because people had lost their event cosmetics and we weren't able to isolate the people who had earned them..."

This is the EXACT same thing that happened with ALL legacies. Even now, I'm still butthurt that I didn't recieve any of my legacies and they refuse to give you it even if you show proof.

Also flashlights dont point to the center of the screen now as survivor. But thank you for this post.

I noticed, just forgot to add it

  • @Respectfulnancymain said:

Ohhh its probably cause this is my first time using purple flashlights and they supposedly decrease the accuracy of the beam

Guess im gonna stick with yellow flashlights

It’s reported that the flashlight’s beam axis has been misplaced slightly to the right, idk about it though

  • Yup.

And don’t worry, they completely freaking DODGED the bugs and said that Clown is underrated.

They've addressed it and they continue to deny this is a thing.

It 100% is. This auto aim or whatever decides if you got the hit, needs adjusting.

Way too many times have I held the button for a full lunge, and for whatever reason it cuts short and whiffs. Thanks, but I wasn't done lunging.

They’ve said since the beginning of the complains that it doesn’t affect your hits at all, the problem is that people KNOW there’s a problem and can’t find anything to blame it on but this (Which is justified).

  • And it's 100% truth. Very nice. I've mostly just moved on to playing Titanfall 2 until the bugs are better, because at least THAT is less buggy than DBD and it was just released on steam.

Teleporting I can vouch for on PS4 but only when downing them, I go to pick them up and I realise they are now about 10 foot to my left. Also happened once with downing a survivor whilst been pallet stunned, we both teleported to the others side. Nothing game breaking but weird.

I still have sound bug but mostly not hearing them on the ground.

Definitely had major problems with the lunge today, playing myers all day and even tier 3 lunge did a little slash. I must admit this was not every game, just did it on the games it felt like doing it. Maybe between a quarter to a third of games.

Grabbing is the opposite for me, still getting the unofficial stun of the game deciding it wasn't a grab after the animation is about halfway through but as survivor I have been grabbed when jumping from a locker and run about 3 feet away.

Most of these are based on PC, but I have labled the ones that seem to be specifically to PS4 as such.

You don't seem to understand that your experience and my experience playing that map is subjective. I've enjoyed the game play, you haven't. Our opinions differ. A fact is something I cannot dispute, but I can with this because it is not, in fact, a fact. I maintain though you're entitled to your opinion and if enough people agree, BHVR might listen. I love the map and the games I've had on it, but it could use some tweaking.

I wasn’t speaking based on my experience at all; I main Nurse, and my experience has been fine. I’m speaking from facts about how the map was designed, and I’m not trying to invalidate your opinion.

I'm gonna play some hag and test that out. I have played her before there, and didn't notice. Again with Nurse she just gets stuck everywhere and the devs need to do something with her. Collision is an issue.

I'll have to disagree with your opinion on opinions, lol. I'll concede that this map has multiple places that a killer can decide to be a jerk and just block you in until EGC. Haven't had it happen here yet, but I have at the swamp. Not fun. That should be something they do review if they decide to change anything up in this map.

I'm saying that it's not an opinion that the map has horrible design gameplay-wise, it's a fact. You can find tons of reasons why if you simply play the map enough times to get a hold of it.

Also, Hag cannot set traps wherever lockers are in the hallways or where the goo is.

I've heard for nurse a lot of objects block them, but I've had the same issue on a lot of maps trying to fiddle with her now. Nurse needs some love.

Idk, break one side stair door, watch a survivor run up, trap them, lol. It works. I've had it done and done it now.

How are the hallways bugged? And I've found some pretty strong pallets. Like around the clock tower and out in the court yard. Granted the ones in the rooms could use a bit of attention but it helps to just run to another room -- use the wall vaults.

I just don't get the hate. People are entitled to their opinions though.

It's not an opinion, sadly. The hallways are bugged in the majority of them (where goo is), making hag traps and Nurse disabled when trying to traverse them.

The point of breaking the doors is to be able to get up to the second floor without running across the map, and killers share the same pain with survivors. If you break the doors, you give survivors an immense advantage; it doesn't matter if you try to trap people in those areas with two breakable doors. (BTW, those spots let you hold the game hostage. Good level design)

The clock tower is broke. You can't blink to it, and it has a pallet on each side of it (making it possibly the most safe spot in the entire game with both pallets down). The court-yard is not really... that good? It needs work.

  • @cheetocultleader said:

Personally feel like half of the complaints are people just not knowing the map. As a newer player I had to learn all of the maps coming into the game. This one isn't much different. Playing survivor I've been able to take killers on quite the chase here, much better than when Dead Dawg was introduced. As killer I've seen advantages for Pig, Trapper, Hag, Myers, Ghost Face, and so on.

It's def my favorite map in the game. Aesthetically it feels like a horror movie. As a lover of Silent Hill, it's pure art.

Not really, the complaints are about the maps being literally broken (Some hallways are bugged, objects can block the killer) and the fact that there aren't enough ways to get up to the second floor without giving the survivors an advantage. As well as that, the pallets are ew

  • @CaptainSkel said:

Half of these aren't bugs and are just things you're mad about. Consider taking a deep breath and counting to ten.

    @RockoRango said:

    • Survivors now make no sound while doing ANYTHING unless it’s an action (such as vaulting or repairing)
    • Survivors no longer turn their heads to the direction their looking, making it impossible to know if they have Dead Hard until they hit you with it.
    • The new map is extremely broken and frustrating. It’s easy to win on, but it’s still extremely frustrating when I literally can’t move down a hallway because objects (like the hallway with a bunch of goo on one side of the wall) block me from blinking/moving.
    • Most maps have had their sounds removed relating to survivor movement.
    • No sounds while on the ground is now not just a ‘chance’, it now always happens.
    • Killer lunges are broke on the survivor side, as certain killers seem to play a short lunge animation when they’re really doing a long one (causing hits that don’t look like they connect). This also applies vise-versa, where you think you hit the survivor but instead you do a short whiff.
    • Grabbing is now more consistent on the Killer side, but is extremely broke on the survivor side. You can be on the other side of a pallet, hit the ground, and still be grabbed. This feels douchy.
    • Clown is bugged, as his reload makes his movement speed EXTREMELY SLOW for a few seconds after.
    • Survivors can, once again, get stuck inside hooks. This soft-locks the game until they D/C, as it’s reported that you cannot be killed by EGC.
    • The new map has a few spots that are completely safe all of the time (specifically the corner of the courtyard where you can literally trap yourself in-between pallets as survivor), and the rest of the map is baren. Extremely boring, and especially unfun when the map’s geometry is broken.
    • Btw, all survivors have Iron Will and don’t breathe.
    • Billy is bugged again. It’s not as bad as before... but Billy is bugged again. His animations are wonky, and his movement has changed.
    • Demogorgon does not come out of his power where he is supposed to; instead, it can be a too early or too late exit.
    • Blood Warden doesn’t work on dying survivors on the new map.
    • Generators generally don’t make any sounds, which is BEYOND ridiculous when the objective is generators.
    • When trying to hook a survivor, the game sometimes will pull out it’s dedicated servers and force you to spam space to get the hook.
    • Survivors and Killers both now have an increased tendency to literally teleport to previous locations.
    • The button to Exit the Game doesn't work, and neither does Alt + F4.
    • The button to Exit the Match doesn't work.
    • Legion is unable to vault certain windows while in Feral Frenzy, making some areas (Like main buildings that can be looped by using these windows) god loops against Legion until they're blocked off.
    • On PS4, it is REPORTED that, if two or more survivors try to open exit gates at the same time, one survivor will fly into the air and the other will crash. I can't prove this because I don't play on PS4.
    • The new map has MULTIPLE LOCATIONS THAT THE KILLER CAN HOLD THE GAME HOSTAGE IN. MULTIPLE. LOCATIONS. What was the goal here, to give the killer an advantage in some rooms or make trolls borderline impossible to defeat on this map?
    • Oni can periodically be unable to use his power, and proof of this was given in the comments.
    • It is REPORTED that you can can get stuck INSIDE of the wall of The Asylum (On Nurse's map), soft-locking the game. I don't know if this is correct or not.

Tell me how all of this got through without at least SOME testing. Please.

I’ll still play killer, and I know a lot of others still will, but the game is INFURIATINGLY BUGGED and it coincidentally helps the survivors immensely. If I didn’t know better, I would suggest rolling back until the bugs are fixed.

    Have fun.

  • Also, thanks for moving this to Feedback/Suggestions without actually giving us any word on these issues. Now less people will see this (Because people who don't dig into the forums for a living don't go into feedback), AND it's less likely to be addressed because I haven't seen any positive responses from devs in feedback since I joined the forums.
