That's 5 perks! I like it.

The last two events seem to be test runs for a secondary objective. I think the devs are going to keep doing test runs like those until the community thinks that they're balanced. You might be right.
I would say Cankers was a failure and the lantern one was good for survivors but not killer (except when you could see them carrying the lantern!)

There is no safe zone in dbd. Maybe KYF. Even at 20 there are people who stay there on purpose or play on another account. At least on ps4.If you don't play for a few months you can drop into the ranks below 15 via the rank reset. So its entirely possible to see really good players at those ranks.
I've been there myself. I don't recognise the experience you describe though - most of the player are potatoes.
-
Same as any online game that’s been around for a while - new players have to learn at the school of hard knocks.
You can’t de-rank below rank 15 anyhow so rank 20-16 should be a safe zone for new players?
-
If you have played 1500 hours of survivor that would definitely help you play well with Spirit which is all about predicting survivor movements.
-
Thing is built in bond would be even more powerful than SWF.
SWF at least have to describe to each other where they are. That's not always so easy.
-
Monopoly is a timeless classic but if you keep going to jail and landing on your opponents Mayfair hotel it’s not a fun game every time.
No-one thinks Monopoly needs a fix.
-
Here's my teaser:
Shiver me timbers a new type of hook is appearing on the end of my arm.
-
Its got to be worth it on doc right??
Even if the only effect is to stop them going in the lockers.
-
I'm currently liking monitor and abuse and dead rabbit add on for a small terror radius build.
I also add Surveillance and creep up on survivors all game.
This build needs a gen stopper perk as well so ruin or pop goes the weasel are as good as any. -
I unlocked Ace and then got 1 more coin.
I dont play Huntress so had to decide whether to buy Feng's head, body or legs.
Decided the dress was basically useless without both pieces so went for her head.
Stuck it on a 'red rooster' event t-shirt and it looks OK. Probably wont ever use it though.
Peace out.
-
Not sure.
4 gen chase story seems like a stealth brag post indicating OP himself has self esteem issues?? -
When he eventually got me he messaged me "get better like seriously that was beyond boring" which basically means he was insecure, salty and wanted to jump off a roof.
hmm...I think you are reaching here a bit Dr Freud.
-
There has to be a punishment and a pain to being caught.
Its entirely right that once you are caught the killer controls your fate.If it wasn’t like this there would be no excitement to the chase, no incentive or exultation for evading the killers clutches and getting away.
Without the fear of penalty or loss there is no tension or excitement in hiding or escaping. (the whole foundation of the game)
-
It's a myth they lack resources. At any one time there are between 10 and 15 people working solely on hex totem placement.
-
Dear Diary....
-
I tried surveillance after someone here recommended it
Yep it's really good now. I wish now I hadn't skipped over it so often in the blood web. -

When there is already so much to do...Repair Gens
Look for chests
Sabotage Hooks
Find totems
Heal other survivors
Gain tokens for certain perks
Unhooks
Look for the hatch
Heal self and others
Disarm bear traps and hag marks
Open the exit gates
etc...And yet you spend half of the game holding M1 at a gen
I am contending that is a falsehood and a mass delusion of the forum.
-
double post
-
Meh... I stand by my point.
Time how long a game is and how much time you spent on a gen.
What were you doing the other 90% of the time? Lots of stuff. Even if its just sneaking or hiding.
When you really think about it survivors do a lot of different stuff. Actually far more than killers. Killers should be the ones asking for more variety since all they do is chase, hook and repeat their power ad infinitum.
-
All I'm saying is its a myth that there is not plenty for survivors to do.
Optional stuff is not all totally separate from the games outcome.
Cleansing a dull totem may be a waste of time or may stop NOED from appearing. That's the chance you take. Not every game is a gen rush.

Not necessarily. If you have enough variety, it could certainly alleviate the staleness to a decent degree.
What though?

They don't want optional objectives; they want mandatory objectives. Because they're unwilling to do the ones that already exist, since they're not mandatory. But they do do the optional objectives. You always see people looking in chests or cleansing dull totems and sometimes sabo.
-
What extra mandatory objective could possibly be interesting?
The only ones I have ever seen suggested are 'find this and carry it there to fix that.'

What survivors have to do in order to win:
Repair Gens
Look for the hatch
Open the exit gatesI don't quite agree. If you don't rescue or heal survivors wont win.
Also depending on the game cleansing a totem or disarming a trap could be the difference between winning and losing. -

No-one still thinks BBQ is pay to win because of the aura reading do they? That is so 2017.People actually do. The stupidity of humankind never ceases to amaze me...
People also forget that BBQ was at least partly created as survivors wanted a reason for killers to leave the hook...

Every new players reaction to it is negative i've noticed.
Interesting. When it came out the aura reading was a big deal but I feel like they have beefed up a lot of the other perks since then.
I find things like Tinkerer and Bitter Murmur a better source of survivor whereabouts now. I mainly run BBQ for the points.

Nurse isn't strongest on console. Not by a long way...
-
I think its the element of surprise that people cant handle... like it feels cheap.
-
Yes. The point is no-one has a problem with Myers in effect doing a NOED 2 or 3 times a match but somehow the NOED perk itself is a massive problem and should be nerfed.
This is the point of the thread (which I am obviously putting across poorly

-
Sounds as easy as breaking a totem.
-
Not necessarily....

Pin the donkey tail on the killer.
You have to creep up behind him and stick it on without getting caught.
-
My (random) thoughts:
-I don’t think it was a great event for killers but I enjoyed it well enough as survivor.
-This wasn’t a BP event- Only 3 costumes to choose from so everyone ends up this same stuff (Hallowed Blight had more choice)
- Huntress is so niche and hard to play on console a new costume is not that desirable
- Not many people seemed to be burning offerings on PS4 (possibly due to blood web scarcity)
- Overall I found people played in a better spirit than cankerfest. (No-one deliberately getting caught after filling their vial.)
- Unlike Hallowed Blight the survivor objective didn’t distract them enough to give the killer the upper hand.
- As killer it was easy to spot people carrying lanterns (that was fun)
-
I had to look up what an archon is
A chief magistrate from ancient Athens.
Everything is much clearer now. -
I was Leatherface playing noob survivors on Meat Plant.
There is a mezzanine staircase leading up to a funnel you can jump down.
I caught 2 survivors unaware. One tried to run up the stairs and the other down. They blocked each other and I was able to chainsaw them both. They both disconnected.
OK its not that great a story but it always makes me laugh when I think about it.
-
People complaining is a roundabout way of showing they care about the game.
The day people stop complaining or posting on these forums is the day the dev's should be worried about people losing interest.
So I don't see it as a terrible thing as such if done in a reasonable way.

Ok thanksI like all of those killers you mentioned. They are all fun in their own way. Clown is probably the most divisive - some people don't rate him.
Back in the day there used to be a splinter offering where you could play as a killer you didn't have for one trial. Its a shame that doesn't exist anymore.
Splinters do still exist, they just removed splinters from original characters because you don't need to waste real money on them, there's still splinters for licensed characters.
OK cool I didn't know that. I don't see them on console anymore. Maybe because I have all the DLC?

@jackkn12 said:
Ok thanks is there any that slows down the game so I don't get Gen rushed right off the bat?Hex Ruin is the obvious choice.
Although with doc look at the add-ons as well as the perks. There are some that make skill checks more difficult if suffering from madness.
Combine with increased terror radius perk and something like Overcharge and you can slow the game down quite a lot. -

Spirit is as good as your ability to predict survivor movements.
-
Monitor and Abuse on Myers is a great pick.
For Doc the one that expands his terror radius - I forget what its called but it expands his madness range as well.
-
It would seem odd. I know I started by playing only survivor for my first hundred hours, but only because I was on a low end laptop, I didn't want to risk hosting on a weak config. But other than that, why would someone intentionally play the evil side exclusively? Killer is fun too, if frustrating at times.
Yes that was sort of my point. I'm not sure true killer mains exist in quite same way as true survivor mains.
Because most killers have also played survivor extensively.
I think we are agreeing?
-
Should be soon and I look forward to the usual cycle of wild hype followed by crushing disappointment followed by some minor tweaks and a double bloodpoint event.
-
I am happy to speculate that the vast majority of killer mains have also spent a decent amount of hours on survivor but that there are many survivor mains who have never / barely touched killer.
-
This is almost as bad as the tripwire idea someone had....
-
Still working on my 3rd coin.
Doing that whilst making progress on a couple of trophies I don't have.Should get that tonight and then I'm done. Will get the Ace costume (everyone has Feng on PS4 it seems).
Huntress looks best I think but hard to play her on console so no point getting it.
-
SWF always say goodbye to me - usually by t-bagging at the exit gate.
