Hex Ruin
-
I have been clean for 2 months now. It IS possible to quit this game.
Take one day at a time, stay strong, delete it from your hard drive, find another game you like playing. This one corrodes your soul from the inside.
-
Old Hex Ruin worked ok at all ranks on PS4 as the skill checks could be so janky....
I know they work 'user side' so in theory they should be smooth but....there not.

It is impossible to be bullied every game as you will always get a full solo squad or "chill" survivors now and then. It is more the realisation that IF the survivors know what they are doing and when you get that 3-4 man coordinated group, then there is not much that you can do as the killer, especially with some of the maps in this game.
Exactly. Every killer eventually comes to the realization that the game is pretty much completely in the survivors hands. So a 4k becomes devalued as it can only happen if the survivors make mistakes.
So then there is no satisfaction in getting bullied OR getting a 4K. Such is the hollow feeling of playing killer. The gratification of getting a 4k in one match is no compensation for getting bullied and feeling powerless in the next.
-
The Wraith definitely was not a bad guy.....how he ended up a killer I don't know...
-
It made me realise that certain games can have a negative affect on my personality.
I guess it happened with other games in the past but with the nature and toxicity of Dbd the effect was much stronger so it finally made me confront the truth.
I was irritable, anxious, neglectful of family and not sleeping well. All these thing have improved since I started playing other games.

It would be kinda neat if The clown would cut a different finger from each of the survivors. Any finger expect the thumb.
just a thought i had
I always thought it would be good if he had a fake mori where he just honks them on the nose Mr Miyagi style and they can run off again.
-
Do you have the time
To listen to me whine
-
Bring back old Hex Ruin
Buff Leatherface!
-
I deleted from the PS4 last night.
Still going to come here and moan about how rubbish it all is though....

i am not enraged. i am annoyed. and i think they were swf too.
Under the new system they are proposing a trial like this would be deemed a matchmaking success?
Seems from the numbers that it was a fair match of skill and 2 kills 2 deaths is the ratio they aim for.

So because i managed to kill them this is fine.
No your doing it wrong. You should be enraged because the game is matching you with red rank survivors when you are only rank 12....
-
2 killed and 2 escaped. Working as intended indeed!
How would you have felt about this match up if you hadn't seen the ranks?
-
Another one bites the dust
Another one bites the dust
And another one gone and another one gone
Another one bites the dust
-
Tuxedo Leatherface
Clown in his normal clothes with no make up
Something skimpy for Kate
-
Needs a little extra something imo.
Turns out the definition of Knock Out in dbd is just that you don't turn bright red.
As a 'knocked out' survivor you can still crawl around....they should change that. But I know I know it wouldn't be fun for survivors..

Well, if you are going to try to fix the core issues with the game, it makes sense to start with the "band aid" on the top and work your way down. Like any changes they make to the core mechanics is going to be heavily influenced by Ruin, so as a way to eliminate it's trickle down effects on core mechanics, you want to nerf it. Now they can more clearly see what the game is like at base, and therefore they can find better solutions to the issue.
The must have had stats from Ruin-less games before they took it away.
I don't believe the idea that they took it away so they could then look at solutions. Even they are not daft enough to take away the Band-Aid with nothing to stop the blood coming out.
In their world they already had a solution which was 'New Ruin'. To them that was a rework not a nerf. That was the great fallacy.
-
I am quite fond of a game of wraith who hides and stays invisible all game.
I recently saw a survivor come out of one of those games with 17,500 bp. Impressive...
-
They are a weird bunch.
They seem to take a softly softly approach over a lot of changes then sometimes they will just make a massive change seemingly out of the blue.
Ruin of all things - the rubber band which held the whole wonky concept together in some semblance of balance.

Oh, come on. How about you get an automatic 100K Bloodpoint Bonus for facecamping a full hook as Bubba? I can see it in your avatar’s eyes that you want that!
Hmmm...thats tempting..
-
Would need some substantial gameplay changes rather than bribery blood points to have me play killer again...
-
Ill always think fondly of the good times before Ruin was nerfed....
Also if it hadn't been for this game going down the pan I never would have discovered Hunt Showdown.
-
They need to be careful. The game was flagged last week on 'hotukdeals' website as being on sale for PS4.
I read people making comments saying not to buy it as it was impossible to get a game.
Its not impossible and there are plenty of people playing but a 10-15 minute wait certainly gives the impression of a dead online.
-
'They' only want to call it a matchmaking problem so that when the ranks are hidden under some new system they can claim the problem is fixed.
There just aren't enough killers. The reasons should be well known by now.
-
Long queue in the morning. Survivors mourning
Long queue at night. For killers its alright.
-
Every game you play afterwards feels like a breath of fresh air....
-
No perks.
Add on where you cant discern the distance or direction of the bell.
Hide in a corner invisible all match ringing the bell occasionally as my own personal protest at the nonsense this game has become.

Their's no point in asking for it back as we all know that old ruin is gone and that it will likely never come back. You're just going to have to find better ways to play if you want to preform well.
What you say would be fine if I was playing against my own rank. But I'm not. I'm playing against Reds and Purples. Because all the killers quit. Because they nerfed ruin.
-
Quick recap. What happened was:
1) Ruin was nerfed
2) Games became easier for survivor.
3) Survivors ranked up so now there are a lot in the purple and red ranks.
4) Killers were getting trounced and struggling to pip.
5) People stopped playing killer.
6) Survivors now get ranked with any killer who bothers to turn up. Matchmaking isn't really something that happens anymore.
7) The cycle starts again at point 2.
-
Don't know about the best but the one that always makes me chuckle is Head On - its just so ridiculous.
Its the one with Jane making a dramatic exit from a locker and blinding the killer by 'reminding the word of who she is'. (an overweight TV reporter)
-
Played 5 killer matches last night and it was miserable.
All but one of my games were against red and purple ranks and I got smashed.
One game I got 3K with plague only to discover at the end of the game that 2 were rank 20.
I can catch most survivors eventually but anyone half decent can waste enough of your time that the match is gone.
If survivors just do gens they win. I just have to hope they get complacent and start getting distracted.
The game is addictive still but its a horrible sort of addiction that comes from frustration and it makes me feel bad inside.

I wish I had more varied tastes when it came to gaming. I am not a fan of first person games, infact, Dbd is the only game I can handle it with. All other ones give me a headache for some reason. I am hoping for a new 3rd person action game with the quality of the Ninja Gaiden series that came out on the original xbox. I havent played a game that i enjoyed more than it.
Amazing you say that! Ninja Gaiden on the original Xbox is my favourite game. Still the best in that genre imo. Even later stuff like Bayonetta and the recent Devil May Cry's weren't as good.
-
All except Ghostface, Oni and Demogorgon (don't own the last two)
Got most of them in the early days when the requirements were easier...

Just pray that another company comes out with a good game that directly competes with Dbd. Behavior needs a fire lit under their buts to improve things and if they don't at least we have other games.
Agree. Its not the same but just ordered Hunt Showdown for PS4. It looks pretty good. Might be my new multiplayer go to game...
-
I see it as an anti-tunnel perk but as a killer I'm not expecting to see it that often and I don't think it will trouble me much if I do.
-
I heard they pulled names out of 3 pots:
Pot 1: Zombie, Werewolf, Undead, Human, Aztec, Ghost
Pot 2: Pirate, Cowboy, Teacher, Clown, Samurai, Egyptian Mummy, Inquisitor
Pot 3: Katana, Harpoon, Cat o' 9 Tails, Mace, Whip, Knife, Rolling Pin
This time it came out as Zombie Cowboy with Harpoon.

I still laugh every time I read your user name...
I'm glad it makes you laugh. I was quite pleased with it although if I had to do it again I would choose 'Maurice'.
-
You can take fish from lockers and throw them at survivors Huntress style.
One of his add-ons gives you bigger fish to throw like a whole tuna and that is an insta-down.
Or have him as a 110% killer but you have a hook and line and can hook survivors and pull them towards you. No wait that sounds like a terrible idea...
-
Gonna wait and see if he is viable on console before not buying him.
-
I don't understand anything I have read on this thread.

omg the new killer has a gun. you can't even dodge the projectile. this killer will be clearly op. mark my words.
How can an invisible killer not be OP?
How can a teleporting killer not be OP?
How can a killer who vaults pallets no be OP?
They always find a way.....
-
Perk activation and effects have become more surreal and nonsensical.
Healing a survivor but you get injured?
Leaving a locker to trigger an explosion on a gen?
Makes no sense but whatever...
-
@Nicholas said:
Off The Record, what's the point of it? I'm trying to think about the aura part, when would your aura be shown to The Killer after being unhooked? Besides the chance someone else is being hooked and BBQ goes off.
Agreed. Would rather run Iron Will. The aura reading part is too situational.
-
Don't think any of the perks on either side will be troubling the meta but a couple may be fun to mess around with (before going back to the meta).
-
Repairing a generator for 3 seconds then leaving it to hide in a locker and trigger an explosion.
Almost as much a waste of your own time as it is the killers (assuming he even responds to it)
Unless you are going to run far away you might as well just fail a skill check.
-
I really think all the good ideas for perks have been done at this point.
Unless you go really OP like they did with Mettle of Man.
Cant think of anything...
-
Also look at the add-ons for killers with no meters - generally much more interesting.
Otherwise it's just:
Reduce the time it takes to charge, decrease the cooldown of, increase the duration of... very boring.
-
I have it on unreliable sources that Bunny Feng will be tier 70 in the next rift.
-
'Every killer has unique styles of map pressure'
Hillbilly - quick and efficient
Clown - slow and cumbersome
So you have to dominate chases with clown.
Yes I see now - its all so simple.
-
Apart. More chance of finding one quickly.
