Well, unless I/we can argue otherwise we can't report survivors for not completing their escape objectives.
Well, we can, but they won't see it as a reportable offense. -
Wait. I'm confused.
How are you not escaping? You're the last one alive as everyone else escaped.
As far as I know a slugged survivor can crawl out the gate safely with an RBT on. -
Unless that survivor is injured, it's stupid to swing at the new target. It resets bloodlust making the chase longer.AgentTexes said:Tunneling and camping are fine.
The latter will make you lose in early game and in late game can get you a 4k if survivors dive hook and get slugged.
The former is fine but if you run past a healthy survivor without taking a swing you're stupid, unless it's late game and the doors are open then hit the wounded one to down and try to slug the others.
Why do that to yourself?
-
Not necessarily 4 people screwing around. Could be 3, 2, or 1. But the idea is there.powerbats said:@Rebel_Raven said:
This is generally about them already being in the gate room, or really close to it. Hence my emphasis on how safe they are at that point.
Ok that's more understandable and I just responded about that in the console bans question to Peanits.
Or them hiding in some locker, and moving around just enough to get distance to be harder to find if you're not lucky enough to have a search perk, or detect them with it.
Yeah if they can make it to the gate that's one thing but I've had instances where the killer can down me before I even get near either gate. I can understand if people are trying to make sure everyone gets out and realistically unless you know it's frustrating for both sides.
This isn't about the match actually being active where the killer is a realistic threat or else the survivors wouldn't hang around after the match more than a few minutes at most.
This isn't about "a buddy is on the hook" altruism. If it's 4 people screwing around then yes they need to start getting a timer countdown warning them they've got x time to leave or they get auto sacrificed.
It would take some brazen idiocy to let yourself get hit by a chainsaw from one end of the room to the other. Especially since the ability to one hit down is likely to be well known by then.
Insidious/Lag Switchers/M&A/Rancor/NOED (which seems to like activating on totems by gates) etc.
One hit down killers are those few specific builds I mentioned.
You know damn well Rancor doesn't work on every survivor to one hit down, and unless you're some veteran with a stockpile, I don't see any killer constantly using addons like iridescent heads for every match.
Like I said before there's some killers who have a stockpile of isnta downs addons and because they do so well they never run out. The same is true for those maxed out on everything or those that don't want to prestige.
Most people dont want to in the first place. Hence we have people with stockpiles of mori, and one hit down addons.
I forget I've got them usually or forget to bring them so I've got a tremendous stockpile and when I do remember to bring them I don't always use it.
Consoles. Didn't really have that option before.
Well now with bans it'll improve a lot since it's not such a big issue on pc since the bans have always been active.
Kiddies better run for their lives or this killer is going to have something to make their teabag party in the gate room a threat now that console bans are up.
Yes and that's going to be a huge improvement and some console users are already reporting that the dc rate has dropped. Once dedicated servers come up they'll probably be able to track actual dc's much better and tighten the % rate ona scaling tracker.
They're safe, essentially. No way to down them before they escape. And there is no other survivors outside the gate room.
Altruism, I get. No problem with trying to do a rescue even if the reality is the last guy is sitting on the hatch, waiting to jump, but no one leaves to open it.
Having to sneak out is understandable, too.
A threat to their win would be a great way to have survivors flee. If it's a timer, then running on similar terms to the pigs RBTs would do well, but shared. If one person is downed, hooked, or in a chase it counts for all of them.
Already covered Rancor. If the last people aren't the obsession, it's pretty useless at that point.
Insidious won't work unless the survivors are injured or you're a one hit down killer, even if it's just for that trial.
Lag switching isn't an option, and shouldn't be.
It basically boils down to being able to drop them before they can get to the exit point, and under most circumstances, killers can't.
Let's hope the real threat, if it can be reported, of being banned for actively not escaping when it's easily possible for x number of minutes helps clean things up.

Probably would scare most PCs and consoles to death. Lol

Yes because it's never an instant down killer and gates super close together or that the person is injured and doesn't have a heal. Insta down Billy, Bubba, Huntress, Rancor, NOED, Blood Warden is active etc.
If the gates are both open and on opposite sides of the map and they don't leave after 10 minutes then the solution is to report them and get them punished.

Yeah, the exposed status? What issue does that address? At all?
Worse yet there is no synergy with frenzy.
It helps huntress with reloads, though.
-
If a trapper puts a trap in a space the size of a pallet drop, the survivor should not be able to squeeze around it. Especially if it's in the middle of that size of an area.
-
I think it might be a balanced way to let her restock her traps for it to stay on the ground like a trapper trap, or survivor item.

Would it really help that much?

I use it on my huntress all the time. Along with toth, distressing, and a flex perk (no bbq. Sadness) not because it's a good perk, but because of extra bp.
Bonuses/buffs would be appreciated.
Rereading, it might not help huntress much ,though. misread. Looked like it was seconds into a chase not after using powers. -
Aside from the survivors screwing around, and the Mori stuff (I never really have any) this reminds me a lot about how I'd do an early DC match as killer.
Infact that happened last night. Had the DW 4 people as legion.
Someone dced early. I got my ritual done (with a few more stabs because stabby stabby) and left them alone to leave.
Watched them do gens from afar, nodded at them. -
When you rush to do gens, and stop to do a gen that's part way done over one completely done, you shorten the time the killer has to do anything, and that can very well lead to the killer having less fun.
It's why gen rushes scare killers. Killers absolutely need time. Survivors work to destroy that.

I wish more people would chill out when playing instead of just looking to get out as fast as possible.
But a lot of killers are just as bad. I won't ever say otherwise.
It's harder to spot depipping killers, and there's only 1 killer to 4 survivors.
Killers have to endure the entire match. If they're in with a pain in the ass group of survivors, then they can't bail without repercussions.
Survivors can just get hooked, suicide, and move on. Or genrush the hell out of the killer and move on.
It certainly feels like killers suffer the brunt of being mauled way harder than survivors.

When the game is actually balanced around voice chat using SWFs you might get less dodges. -
Went against a pig. Saw similar box placement.

Because letting you go free would probably be stupid.
Asking for free unhooks is also not a bright request. -
Kinda funny story. Back from break, I started my rituals.
I load into a lobby. Not so immersed Claudette as I had to open the gate as her. No items.
2 people either had a toolbox or med kit. I look at the third, Kate, and hope to myself she won't grab anything.
A few seconds later... pop. Toolbox.
And I think to myself, the killer is probably going to grab a mori. I hope he doesn't because it seems like he's being goaded into it.
Sure enough, at the least, freddy brought a green mori.
Wasn't used on me thankfully. -
While I agree with you that SWF in and of itself isn't bad, it's more the external communication to get an advantage no one in the game should have, SWF basically have a monopoly on doing that.PiiFree said:OP, you seem to confuse SWF with using external softwares to communicate with each other.
Killers don't care about SWF as this doesn't really provide any seriously unfair advantages. It's because SWFs use external third party softwares to gain advantages that they otherwise would not get.
With the ability to globally communicate with each other you get access to informations that you would otherwise never have. We all know that knowledge is a very important part in DbD, if not the most important one. Knowing where the Killer is, where the survivors are, what gens are being worked on, where the totems are, where the pallets are gone ect. is gamebreaking, simply put.
It really shouldn't surprise you that Killers try to avoid such players. It's similar to playing PUBG against someone that has a ghosting friend that keeps telling them where you are and what you're doing.
It's getting to the point that it's the same thing, unfortunately.
Until there's enough SWF not using what amounts to steroids, all of them are going to catch flak for it in being more likely dodged. -

16-15. Don't have kindred (or much of anything) on Claudette. The killers aren't exactly campy, either. all 3 just kinda run side to side and stuff. Even then I'm running into 3 man SWFs at the least (Green ranks) and this keeps happening.
Yeah that's how rank 15 survivors usually act.
Kindred is not only for camping killers, survivors can see each others auras when you are hooked meaning that they will be more organized. If they see someone coming for you the others know they gotta keep doing gens.Sounds like a plan, though dedicating a slot to it seems rough just to get people who should have some idea of what's going on to get things done.
If they are all doing gens and stop doing them to rescue you that's a really waste of time right there. If they are 3 swf i guess that wouldn't happen but many other times they are just 2 swf or maybe none.
Repairing gens is ALWAYS the main priority and the sooner they get done the higher the chances to survive.
My solo build is focused on aura reading because information is the only thing i need, which is bond + open handed + kindred, feel free to try it out. Also Kindred isn't a teachable so i guess you can get it fast.
Try to rank up so you don't get matched with those survivors. If you need help just let me know and i'll help if i'm online. -

It's like it's getting worse. Survivors are absolutely suicidal all of a sudden, and the killers are snorting it up like coke fiends
I don't understand this. As much as I play survivor, I don't get this.

While I understand the reasoning behind dodging, it does get tiresome, esp to solo survivors. It has gotten much worse on PS4. I had 4 straight lobbies where a dodge occurred. I had no items on, using Dwight in his stock cosmetics. Nothing flashy, nothing to scream here I am. In all but one of the lobbies, the rest of the survivors had no items either. So nothing that should have been a red flag. Yet a dodge happened.Do not get me wrong, I used to dodge some lobbies if I felt it was a SWF team. Now I only dodge if it is a name I know is a much higher rank playing in a SWF to try to bully, which is rare since my memory sucks. I try to play in all lobbies and make the best of whatever is thrown at me. If I realize you are a SWF and possibly a bully squad, I switch things up to make it fun for me, like using the Clown and bottle bomb people all game. This does not work for all people, as I stopped playing a serious/competitive game long ago. Just remember, not all SWFs are bully squads. Some times a lobby full of flashlights are actually solos. If necessary, bring in Franklin and swing away.
Default dwight is a bit of a red flag, though, from what I gathered. Not as big as bald dwight. At least from what I read. Usually indicates a last second switcher.
Honestly, if you want to fly under the radar, customize characters some, and try not to be an immersed Claudette, Bald Dwight, or super neon outside of maybe Nea.
But I'm no expert on cosmetics dodging. I have accumulated data, though.
I get that not all SWFs are bad. Problem is I don't want to go into a trial against SWFs with that mentality and be wrong 999,999.999999999999 out of a million.
SWFs I meet are looking to powerlevel, and/or stomp with almost nothing else.
None really want to play close to how the game was intended (sans communication) and take a chance they might not win. -
I enjoy the bloody game of tag.
The hunt, the chases, tagging people.
Stealthing so I'm hunted more than found, not chased, and avoiding being tagged.
The customization, cosmetics, and the progression
I like getting blood points.
Creating fun loadouts, killer and survivor alike. -
If Nea never got any hair besides her partly shaved style, I'd probably not want to play as her either.
I just can't get used to that.

I don't get it lol.
If there was no SWF survivors would just lobby dodge until they were in the same lobby as their friends, and still stack the advantages.
These advantages are largely chat that isn't included with the game to organize into something the game isn't balnced for.
The game is balanced around 4 solos who don't chat with the others. The game is supposed to be anti social, and it's why we have perks to communicate with eachother like Kindred, and Aftercare.
I'm sure if the overwhelming majority of SWF played without organization, and chat, we might not have as much of a problem.
But they don't. So they get dodged.
"Well they had a claudette. I don't fight claudettes."
"Someone had a flashlight"
"They wore ANY cosmetics, even free, starter cosmetics"
"They came in empty handed? Nope too confident. Gotta go."
"They have survivors on the team? Time to dodge"
It doesn't have to be 4 man, though. An edd, ed, and Eddie can be just as annoying and dangerous to the solo that becomes the 4th.
A 2 man can be annoying. Especially if they chat invite others.
Sometimes SWF just isn't worth the headache.

My advice is to play until you find what you're comfortable with. A style.
Are you a gen jockey? A distraction? A rescuer? Use perks that supplement that.
Me? I like a weird blend. Lithe, dance with me, light weight and spine chill. I know you don't have all those but that's my suggestion.
The less the killer sees you, the less they chase you, the less you need anything else.
Looking at your current list?
It's still a little hard to say not knowing how you play.
It looks like a rescue build.
Borrowed time to ensure the wglf. Bond or empathy is good. I doubt most survivors will sit long enough for you to heal them so we'll make it is less likely. -
Like I said, vague plans.Bongbingbing said:@Rebel_Raven said:

No one knows. At best I see people come up with vague ideas. It's just dumb to think that killers will hang around when even solos could be potentially as strong as a 4 man swf right from rank 20.
There's plenty of ways you could buff killers. They could change some mechanics in game like kicking gens regresses a percentage before regressing regularly or speed up hook progressing, even buffing movement speed for all killers, or rework all their individual powers a bit.
I'm sure Rank 20 killers are already going against SWF their the majority of the playerbase. If Devs wants to keep new killers interested in the game something has to change, the more you rank up the less fun killer is to play and the more stressful it becomes.
They need a realistic plan ready to put into place because the gap between killer and survivors is going to widen immensely, and killers will be hard pressed to want to hang around.
They already basically said they won't adjust movement speeds.
Hook stage speed, while overcoming the issue killers have in needing time to kill someone would probably promote camping.
A mass perk retooling is a huge process. I don't think the devs have it in them.
Survivors constantly complain about gen times being increased. They certainly do not want to upset the survivors.
Yeah, even with the safeguards for rank 20 to 15 I'm sure people are bypassing it to go after people they have no business with.

A cliff that leads to minecraft.
A magical teleport to the campfire.
Well, actually it's likely a huge overgrown field since everyone is running in one when the score is being tallied. -
Open as many gates as I have time to.
Here's a semi-secret. The gates offer survivors a MASSIVE safe zone. Under most circumstances there's not a damn thing a killer can do to prevent an escape.
Less so when they're injured or exposed, but that's why, if you're healthy, and not exposed, you position yourself to take a hit for them.
As a killer, knowing that jerks my chain pretty hard, but no sense in keeping it secret. I play survivor, too. -
The greatest enemy to a killer is not having enough time. Everything most killers do takes time.
They have to hook someone 2 to 3 times.
They can't often just flat out mori someone.
Even Myers has to have prep time before it is stabbing time.
Even nurse has to take a breather which is enough time for a survivor to get scarce.
The less time they have, the more they worry.
Gen rush is probably the most feared tactic because it deprives killers of the only thing they really have to work with. The time needed to find, hook, and chase. -

don't have 3 or 4 toolboxes, cuz killers will dodge that lobby since gens get done way too quick without toolboxes, so when a killer sees 2-4 toolboxes ofc he will either get franklins or dodge. i rather dodge than have 1 perk slot removed cuz of franklins

Says the Survivors using insta-heal, long blind, and telepathy comms lmao
I mostly dodge SWFs, and not normally because of clothes or equipment, -but- I can see why they would see the med kit, and flashy clothes and be wary.
Flashy bright clothes usually indicates a decoy/distraction/runner. Someone who loops like a pro, or is keen on running a killer for 3 gens, or some such.
Medkit=insta heal these days.
I can imagine a worst case scenario in a killer seeing that, and maybe thinking you have dead hard.
I cannot imagine a killer having fun chasing a pro runner who can also dead hard and instaheal.
It's like in nature. The bright stuff is usually a warning.
My advice might be to, if you aren't, wear what you want, and maybe not carry equipment.
At least wait until the lobby loads to see what's going on before loading up an item.
A killer sees 3 people load in at the same time, and they have 2 toolboxes and a med kit, or a flashlight, then you appear with a med kit, and they might just see a red flag.
Edit: Misread. Thought you said you have Nea in bright yellow clothes.
