Dragon Ball Breakers was so disappointing. Pay for the game only to get hit with a pay to win gacha system stacked with a battle pass system.

Come on. Friday the 13th got dunked on by the cutoff of dev support and the lawsuits, Mercenaries got destroyed because of Capcom's 'pay to level' system and cheaters, Evil Dead went EGS exclusive, VHS seemed to have zero actual lasting power, Home Sweet Home Survive was a glitchy unpolished and non localized mess, and now we have Dragon Ball Breakers which just stacked monetization schemes and considered the gameplay as ancillary rather than the entire damn point.

Now on to the next Asymmetrical Horror announcement to get hype for that will crush my dreams.

Yeah Dragon Ball Breakers is extremely bad game.

Peer to Peer(as result quite laggy and very easy to hack and cheat), localized matchmaking only, pay to buy game with Gacha System. Dead on arrival.

Also VHS, streamers hyped it like the dbd killer, but in reality VHS died way faster than Propnight or even HSHS

If competition arises, which it will hopefully with Evil Dead keeping strong and the Leatherface game releasing soon, along with maybe VHS getting a bigger niche, they will finally spend the money.

VHS is dying, peak players is 600...

Behaviour, if you read this and think “well it’s not possible to implement server authoritative for a video game”

Please. Hire a security expert. You don’t know what you are talking about.

Yeah but that would make the game more expensive to maintain...

So as long as you all playing, why the devs should care?

  • LoL before Epic the game was full with pc cheaters from Steam anyway.

And it was very cheap to get a new key for Steam anyway, so Epic doesnt matter, the problem is that dbd almost 100% client sided, its extremely easy to cheat in a game like this, they need to make it more server sided, but wont because the game code is spaghetti and very expensive in terms of upkeep.

Enjoy the client sided game with full of cheaters lol

Even posting the stats is pointless. Tome challenges and survivors DC'ing/giving up on hook make perk numbers and kill rates completely unreliable. The 8% boost in kill rates actually seems way low based on how many survivors I see rage quitting or throwing. I figured it would be in the 70's.

DC and giving up on hook arent counted into stats

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/346882/in-reality-killers-have-way-more-than-61-killrate-games-with-dc-and-giving-up-on-hook-excluded

I mean .......You're basically suggesting they should balance and weaken every killer.......Because idiots rage quit and give up on hook like babies....? 🤔

I dont suggest anything, just finding really interesting that there are still players who want to play the prey, with close to 0% chance to win.

Strange, well at least killer mains can still feel extremely powerful as long as there are players who love to lose all the time

  • @Dogma_loki said:

I don't even believe these stats. They are cherry picking the statistics because they know they will get huge backlash if they released the true numbers.

If you put 61% on one side of a balance, and 39% on the other what happens? I don't think that's what something that is "balanced" is supposed to look like.

Also games with DC isnt even counted, so in reality lot worse for survivors, probably 75% killrate

  • The game should be rewritten for that which wont happen.

The problem is that designed badly and no anti cheat can protect it.

So have to accept that this game will always full of cheaters

  • Dead Space is an action game, isnt horror

To me it seems the main issue of this all, the love-hate relationship players have with DbD and are trying to push any kind of game coming to this genre over Dead by Daylight.

This is not a good mindset that anyone should have, because the true love for a game doesn't exist, is just the player wanting the competiton to "die". Most people who keep ranting about DbD may in fact play this game more than their loved VHS.

I kept saying and I will say, stop saying "This is the DbD killer", play a game because you like it, not to support another game to die, that will NEVER WORK and has been proved for years. Both games can do good as long as the playerbase is healthy, they need love... not this.

The sad reality of this, every single game has failed to "beat" DbD, but we should instead focus of having as many games just as good as DbD and none to fail, however the mindset of "DbD is trash, pls kill this game" is overly spread and never works.

This kind of game doesnt work it seems, since the genre in concept is based on imbalance, it creates an us vs them mindset that that increases frustration and drives people away.

DBD survives because It has Pyramid Head, and Freddy Kruger, and other icons. People will always enter into the game, enjoy it, get bored/annoyed and move on; maybe coming back for a character they know/like. That is how the game perseveres with it's many, MANY issues.

So probably DbD is a fluke almost a miracle, which cant be repeated.

The genre is flawed and impossible to make another successfull game

I don't even think you need a progression system in this genre. It's something every developer has jedi mind tricked themselves into thinking they need. They're pvp games. Imagine Overwatch if you had to grind to unlock things on every hero. Nobody bats an eye about the lack of grind in that game because it's a pointless thing to have in a pvp only game. I can't imagine that someone would play the game only when they're weak and need to unlock things, and then stop playing when they finally have everything they want to have.

One of the biggest complaint for Propnight was the lack of progression system...

players felt like their time isnt rewarded, and demanded a dbd like progression, today generation, wants to have progression, feeling like they accomplish something.

Without grind dbd would lose half of the playerbase at least

Evil dead the game shutdown one of the US servers due to lack of players. Others expected to follow. Only EU and US server remain

Can you post where you got this from?

I heard about the west coast having connection issues or something, but not about shutting down servers.

Evil Dead has only been out for three months this Saturday that's still too early to say a game is finished.

I'm not saying the game doesn't have problems (I know it does) there's a lot of balancing the game needs. It takes time in two months that the game has been out the DEVs have done Quality of Life patches, bug fixes and Balancing Changes.

Again the game is only three months old😂

Devs simply closed West Coast server, and now only one US server. Guess what, the queue time became better for West Coast players, but for East Coast server players, the queues are now longer than used to be.

Turns out the "server issue" was lack of players....

  • @Phasmamain said:

I doubt VHS will cease development. It’s on,y major issue atm is the lack of monster players compared to teen which was an issue dbd has faced for quite awhile until now

Yeah but unlike dbd which was fun as killer even when underpowered, there is nothing like that for monster in VHS, its just boring extremely so, not unbalanced.

  • @Mooks said:

What even is Spirit Detective? Gotta look into that one.

otherwise, the Texas Chainsaw game is gonna release soon and looks actually promising from artstyle and gameplay? But.. eh.. DbD is obviously doing something right which is lacking with these others..

Texas won't belong in the genre since will be 3 vs 4 players!!!

It's closer to midnight ghost hunt which was 4 vs 4, btw player count is 90 players at peak times lol.

The game doesn't need to be server-sided (assuming you mean everything on the server, the server is the absolute truth). I'm not even sure it could work properly (it's not a shooter).

All they need to do is to add some basic checks and it will filter-out most cheaters and eliminate the most annoying problems (hostage situation).

Yeah its really hard to understand why they don't have basic checks (like running with x speed impossible, or gens can't be insta repaired etc), maybe the game code is even bigger mess than thought.

  • @HungrySnek said:

I am not a programmer or anything like that direction but I still have to ask this question...why is it so easy to hack this game? They use the Easy anti cheat System and other games who have that too are no where near that amount of hackers. Sure every game has them but right now it feels like a wave of them. Does dead by daylight not have a own second cheat System?

I would way "Hey we can help and report them" but we all know that the report System in this game is a bad joke.

    Bhvr please fix this fast

The game almost entirely client sided, peer to peer, so its very easy to cheat.

Peer to peer or heavily client sided games like dbd main advantage for developers that it's very cheap to maintain servers for it, on other hand its impossible to defend against cheaters in this kind of system.

It's not the fault of cheat detection system, you can imagine dbd like a house made of paper, and cheat protection like a door, even if it made impossible to go through the door, robbers can just go through the paper walls anyway, the whole foundation is flawed.

    Solution?

Rewrite the game to be server sided, everything validated through servers.

    Why devs won't do this?

Easy to cheat current client sided game cost them 1x money cost to maintain.

Very hard to cheat server sided game 10x money cost to maintain.

It would cost lot of money to maintain a game like that.

Thats why usually most company don't bother with it, but even then they have more server checks than dbd.

DbD is just really outdated in terms of security

  • Flashlight, map, key are useless.

    Toolbox almost worthless

    Only medkits worth anything

  • It makes sense, lot of honest survivor players stopped playing after update, others starting to turn towards cheating to keep up with the changes.

The only reason I don't play much killer because the game has insane amount of cheaters right now.

  • Ages ago, he dominated soloq so he got nerfed really hard

I'm an achievement #########, and I'm currently trying to do the Oni's achievements. Usually I'd say 75 downs with an ability isn't the worst of achievements, but in this case, this may be one of the worst. Scratch that, Adept Oni has to be worse. But there isn't actually anything wrong with the achievements in of themselves. Every killer has their own Adept challenges, and there are some killers with useless perks, and some with amazing, but really it comes down to their kit.

The Oni's kit is appalling for a Melee killer. No stealth, a bit like the OG Trapper and Hillbilly, but can traverse the map super quick like the Hillbilly. This should compensate for the fact that you are super slow and your ability is very clunky feeling, however, you're limited to using it once you have filled your gauge. The problem? Filling your gauge requires you to hit survivors which is nigh on impossible for this guy.

I struggle to see the strengths of the Oni, other than he can rapidly change direction of his charged attack if a person tries to dodge it, however, with the PoV you are given as killer whilst holding up your sword, it is quite tricky to even see where the survivor runs to.

Some of my suggested changes I'd personally like to see is:

Greater Field of View for the Oni, I know there are perks for this, but I shouldn't need a perk to be able to see through my attacks. I'd be very curious to see what it'd be like for a killer to have a survivors point of view... Would it be broken? Maybe, but I don't think anything would be considered broken on this killer right now.

Instant cast on Blood Fury (no more holding up his hands and walking slower whilst activating it... if Mike can surprise hit T3 and instant down somebody, I don't see why the Oni can't enter Blood Fury and then spend 2 seconds charging his auto attack to instant down you either).

Auto absorb.. I think it goes without saying that having to hold right click and absorb orbs at a reduced movement speed mid chase is the worst thing about the Oni. It feels like you're shooting yourself in the foot to then be thrown on the ground and stamped on because the payoff isn't even a payoff. You are hindering yourself for a pretty awful ability in the first place. I think when you're in a chase you should automatically absorb the orbs of the survivor you are chasing.

Agreed imagine Nurse like Oni, she would have to collect blood orbs on map before able to use her power for very limited time LOL

    Better to do it silently

The giant surge of hackers as of late is ######### painful. I've had so many games now with hackers on both Killer and Survivor.

Please remove the DC penalty again until you have this under some control. Maybe finally switch from your peer-to-peer hacked onto dedicated servers model to actual dedicated servers.

    That would be expensive.

At best you can expect some easy cheat update, however that will never fix the problem.

Everything should be server sided, but devs dont like to do that, because servers cost way more that way, also the net requirement would be higher.

The main reason to not do anything, because average dbd player dont care about cheaters, they will play anyway, there is no reason to do anything

  • Game should be rewritten to be more server sided, that would be the only way to reduce hacking. Wont happen, so have to bear with it

  • The odds are incredibly stacked against survivors right now, they require seal team 6 levels of communication and coordination. It's simply not fun in it's current state and so people are either switching to killer or just not playing all together.

  • they balanced killer around the baby killers who don't know how to play yet. and they balanced survivor around the top 1% of swfs

No,friend, you might be from NA servers.

Here in European servers,if you go against a Russian Nurse, you'll start tearing your Tru3 posters and become an "entitled" survivor main.

It's sad DBD developers only listen to NA people, because they are Canadians ofc,and this leaves the game in an unbalanced state.

You simply cannot compare the NA killers with EU killers,it's like a kitten vs a white shark..

True EU players lot more competitive compared to US players

  • 100%

They will do nothing but keep buffing killers more, throwing some meaningless buff to survivors, but the fact remains survivors only has very bad perks now, which get turned off endgame, and no counter to camping and tunneling.

The only counter to play in SWF whose life to play the game and be extremely coordinated.

I think best to play killer, with stacked slowdown, EZ

Let's see how he does in 6.1.0. But regardless -

    1. He's probably the best Nurse alive today.
    2. Everyone knows that Nurse needs a look at the extreme highest levels of play, but Nurse also has pretty damn low kill rates overall - so it's tricky.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3090294#Comment_3090294

Well...yes? Much like I'm sure Alf doesn't count the games where he isn't playing Nurse as losing the streak. I don't see your point.

So 99,99% of playerbase can't do anything against the broken Nurse, there is no skill in it, after 100 hours playing Nurse anyone can produce 50+ win with Nurse.

The queues are slowly going back to normal. Yesterday evening, i had to wait 2 minutes at most as killer. I´ve noticed from solo queue, that my teammates also start to play normal again. Which is a good sign. All in all, i´d wait another week to see how everything goes. Especially with the bonus bloodpoints coming back.

Of course killer mains only playing 4 stack SWF, and thats only possible when friends having time for it evenings-nights

  • Play killer only.

Let killer mains enjoy playing SOLOQ lol

He also has winstreaks on his YT but he only counts them if he's playing with certain people from I can tell, so he can play x amount of matches on his own, die and it doesn't ruin the streak, this win streak seems to be only if he's with his team which imo ruins the point of a streak if you can take a week break and die and continue the streak.

also, despite his "team" needing to be present for the streak, one is allowed to die as per his rules...

LOL I suspect thats the only way survivors can have long streaks

  • Yeah Nurse is broken, 300 games and there wasn't any team capable winning against it

  • @I_CAME said:

Why do we care about solo? we are talking about high level gameplay here bro

Apparently survivors are fine, the only problem for soloq is that survivors are BAD

  • @Omans said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3090208#Comment_3090208

It is impossible to get a streak like that in solo. Absolutely impossible.

I don't know who you are talking about, but I can say for sure he is in a full SWF. Everyone can already accept that SWF is too strong, and OP.

The same is true for Nurse.

It really isn't very hard to grasp.

    "SoloQ is fine"

Even for SWF impossible without COMMS.

But survivor is fine jUST Skill Issue

  • @Rovend said:

Dont get me wrong, i knew it was op but hear me out.

Yesterday i played 10 dbd matches mostly soloQ, 5 out of 10 were Thana Legions with perks like Sloppy butcher, eruption, deadlock, jolt, dms and of the other 5 were also thana killers with slowdown perks (thana plague, thana oni, thana blight) and let me tell you, i am bored as F of this new meta.

Thana legions are extremely hard to win against if you dont have like some gen rushing build to somehow counter all the slows they get to you, and the mayority of games consists in them dragging the game as long as possible until you literally throw yourself at them because you dont want to spend 40 min playing a single match . Most of them didnt even bother to chase me if i was injured like 5 feet away of a gen.

How useful was the old hatch for these kind of slow matches

At least you had the incentive of repairing 4 gens and look for the hatch with a key, or 3 if there were only 2 left, but now:

    The game starts

One of the survs gets tunneled/facecamp

You are left with 3 surv at 4 gens, 3 gens at best

Slowdowns begin to stack, killer camps 3/4 gens

You already now that you are not going to escape with door

Begins a hide 'n seek where you hope your teammates die so you can try nerfed hatch

70% killer finds hatch first, you die, next game.

This are my games right now

Hatch should spawn if 2 survivors left

  • @verysleepy said:

Because there is 1 killer and 4 survivors?

Let me guess, survivors should fear you and respect the power role right?

You are big bad scary killer, how dare survivors having chance

My question is I thought they wanted to switch the meta. Because in the games I been having me and my teammates not been using the survivor meta perks. But killers still using the same stuff lol

They removed DS but gave nothing in return.

Meanwhile killer got few slowdown nerfed, but got other slowdowns in return, the meta same for them, use as much slowdown as possible

This is a lie. The game is alive because some masochist players like me stills playing as killer, not because SWF.

The game earns money from SWF, speaking about money, yes, it is alive thanks to survivors (Vast majority of playerbase) but speaking about the game itself, is alive because there isn´t another game that can bring a similar killer experience, if that game exist some day in the future, and its more balanced than DBD, this game will die due to the lack of killers, sorry but that´s the truth.

Main killers will move to that game looking for a better and fair experience, same as Overwatch players did with Valorant.

Its impossible for other game to come out which offers better killer experience.

Like imagine that when game came out everyone thought killers are overpowered for a year. Now we know that dbd was very survivor sided at release.

But if the game would have released in its current state which is lot fair towards killers, it wouldnt have survived, thats why if a balanced game comes out, players are just refusing to play it.

Recent example would be Spirit Detective, it was balanced around 5 survivor on comms vs an extremely strong killer. Solo/Duo had 0% chance. Trio like 10%. Etc so game died

  • Game would die, its alive because of SWF.

  • Yeah that would be laughable, killing the game for the majority

You are playing with randoms, don't expect anything but random results. If you refuse to socialize and play with others it's your choice. DBD is a multiplayer game, maybe you should play solo games instead.

Or maybe the 4 player enjoyment more important than the 1 player enjoyment.

Nurse auto win vs solo players, she is a legal cheat code left untouched for years. She is broken

Is that comment supposed to invalidate my opinion? I showed you time over time, how much I play survivor and how often I escape. Yet you always try to claim something else.

Solo survivor isn't as hard as you claim.

You are killer main and mostly playing in SWF.

    Solo in this game unplayable

Yeah at high MMR almost every survivor using IW, so right now she is unplayable, can't wait to play her again!
