Ahh so if that's the case, then it's either bugged like I propose or the killer spawns a substantial time before survivors if it means he's moving as you're only just getting in. (As you said) Either way, big problem that needs drastic attention, the game is screwed otherwise.
Does not sound like a definitive bug to me. Other things could have caused this that have nothing to do with the games programming.

So yeah people, it's back. Played against a Doctor on Sanctum of Wrath and one my teammates spawned in his terror radius. Within 15 seconds of game start he was being chased. So gg devs. A problem from years ago has come back. To make matters worse, I try rescuing a hooked survivor and right in front of them, it kept trying to snap out of it. Great fuckn design.
I will be putting this in as a bug report too, let's see if this one gets noticed. Cause my last bug report didnt get a confirmation. But I hope this will be heeded and ye get your shite together
You can confirm first hand that your teammate spawned in the terror radius? Otherwise you don't know it really happened and a bug report should come from the teammate that it occurred to.
If you needed to snap out of it your Madness would have been level 3 which with the intermittent screaming, static sound, etc. can make it difficult to make sure your in the right place to unhook. That does not sound like a bug.

Hi as everyone feels, I'm pretty sure that Breakable walls as they are currently implemented is just there to annoy both Killers and Survivors.
When they were announced last year with Deathslinger, We all thought that it was gonna be like Michael going through the glass door in that one scene from Halloween 2 or just like the Kool Aid man commercial making survivors sh*t themselves in fear but NO since the Silent Hill chapter breakable walls became something annoying like creating God Loops on remade maps or creating Deadzones /Death rooms like in the remade Game map.
Thus I hereby made a petition that hope fellow Survivors and Killers can take a part of a better Dead by Daylight :D (PS: I'm even okay with Outright removing them with how vexing they are in trials)
Not everyone feels this way. Some of the walls I like having them both as a killer and as a survivor. Notably some of those in the Grave of Glenvale.

Correction: "The Shinning" is part of The Simpson's Treehouse of Horror V special (Season 6, Episode 6). I don't normally nitpick spelling errors, but that specific thing makes this thread kinda funny.
Also, while The Shining is a really iconic and fantastic horror film, Jack Nicholson's likeness might be tough to get, Jack Torrance isn't really himself if he isn't allowed to be screaming and doesn't lend himself well to a Killer Power concept, and unless they did the adult Doctor Sleep version of Danny he'd be a child Survivor which is essentially unworkable.
I'm also skeptical about the Overlook Hotel becoming a DbD map due to its size and scope. Too many iconic areas to squish into one map, I think, plus the issue of kinda needing non-Euclidian geometry to properly represent the place's true atmosphere.
Don't want to be too much of a downer though. The Shining WOULD be a very hype licensed chapter.
The could do it as multiple maps and a match only one specific part like they have some of the other areas such as the Auto Wreckers map.

OP is right the system isnt supposed to work like that, if he disconected 1 week ago it should have reseted and give another 5 minutes, not an hour.
Which is why some are questioning if he is being honest about how many times he has rage quit a match. If it was a bug it would seemingly be more wide spread then just him having the issue.

It's the equivallent of a country punishing people for exploiting badly made laws. Do you blame the lead which killed JFK or the person who shot him? (It was me btw).
Just because someone thinks a certain law is bad does not mean it is. Same applies to the rules. If you don't like the rules associated with the game make your own with your own set of rules. I'm not sure how well it would do with a player base that is allowed to exploit without any repercussions. A game like that would be pure chaos.

I'm not joking. Seriously. The last time I dc'd was a few weeks ago and it was a 4 minute ban. I just dc'd now because the survivors were doing that get a gen done and hide when the killer comes and I wasn't playing a really good tracking killer. Then 4 generators pop so I dc'd and I got a 20 minute ban. Like what? Can it be turned off until it's fixed? Why am I getting a 20 minute ban when I haven't dc'd in weeks and the last time it was 4 minutes?
EDIT: To people focusing on why I dc'd, stop it. It doesn't necessarily matter why I dc'd, I was just saying why for the story. Also if you're bringing up why I dc'd that ONE SPECIFIC MATCH then you failed to realize the point of any of this.
So what your saying is that you didn't like how the match was going so you disconnected. That would be considered rage quitting and the system working as intended. If you got a 20 minute ban then you are doing it more often then you are letting on to.
As for your edit about it not being about why you DC'd. It is a frequent claim among those who post about getting banned for rage quitting and whether you want to admit it or not is a major factor.
Nothing needs to be fixed when it comes to the DC penalty. In worked as designed. If you don't want to receive the ban then don't rage quit. If your not mature enough to see a match to it's conclusion(Even if it isn't going the way you want it to.) Then perhaps this game isn't for you and you should find another.

Would you actually mind if you could see who the killer is in the lobby when playing survivor?
Would that ruin any bit of the experience? Change your playstyle? Would it make the experience better? Would it be encouraging or discouraging?
There's a handful of killers where you know it's them once you loaded into the game, would seeing their silhouette in the lobby be different? Would it feel unfair?
It can be hard enough to find killers at time. If the survivors could see them before hand it could drive more of them away from the role.

Hey all,
Without getting too much into detail, I have a progressive hand disease that screws with my ability to keep my hand steady and limits movement. Its not an issue whatsoever on survivor and most killers.
That being said, there are multiple killers thst I just physically can't play, anyone with a ranged skill. Even pyramid head. My hand doesn't stay steady long enough to actually get the ability off, i.e. as PH, I often end up using my power and watch as 50% of the time it goes 70 degrees off where I was aiming because my hand said lolnope. I won't even get into DS and Huntress but you get the idea.
Anyone with something the same or similar have any suggestions/tips? I'd really like to learn these killers as well, but other factors aside, reality makes it quite difficult, and I'm not one to give up.
I have a nerve condition that effects my hands and and play on my computer however have trouble using the keyboard. Using an X-BOX I think it is a Series X Controller and am able to play pretty well.

Just had a match with a rank 4 killer playing pig. I was able to loop her well and she had given up on the chase multiple times and decided to just tunnel two of my other teammates. ( the minute one was taken off hook she would go straight for the injured one) I had only been hit once, never hooked. I managed to do all but one gen when the time came and I was the last one alive. She immediately closed hatch and found me and one hit down me with NOED. Honestly I’m not the best player but even I knew she wasn’t that great, at least with Pig. It sucks that I did pretty amazing that match and got screwed over by a perk a lot of people use to get a free kill. It feels like my efforts were undetermined very cheaply by this perk. I’m not saying get rid of NOED but perhaps if there’s only one other survivor left then NOED shouldn’t activate. Like to me NOED is used as a last ditch effort when all the survivors are still alive endgame and the killer hasn’t gotten anyone.
You don't need to "sacrifice" yourself to the killer. Spend some extra time and clean all the totems and NOED isn't an issue.

It's not impossible. Strategize and cleanse all the totems before the last generator instead of rushing the generators and the survivors don't have to worry about NOED.

Having like 25 smaller chests over the map, each chest should have tools inside it (to repair one gen) each tool repairs one gen, or a bible inside it (to purify the totems). To balance this, having one additional hook state to each survivor should be fine.
I can think of several reasons that is not a good idea. Sounds like you just want to rush finish a match which takes much of the fun out of it.

Yeah, but from my experience, they set up like 5 traps around the hook, and specifically go for the unhooker, or they just use mint rag.
Of course they go after the person who unhooked them. Any smart player would no matter which killer they are playing. Otherwise they run the risk of the survivor using DS. As for putting 5 traps around the hook I have never seen that. I play the Hag frequently and I usually put 1 the most I have done is up to 3 if they terrain necessitates it but that doesn't happen very often.
As for the Hag tunneling considering how the Hag's abilities work I am not sure it really can be classified as tunneling per se when comparing it to the tunneling done by the other killers.

Now whenever you rage, you can see yourself getting upset in the mirror and only embarrass yourself.
If you live with other people, this could also help you understand how they see you when you get upset at this game (although your frustration is completely understandable) which also helps you stop out of sheer humiliation.
If you really want to stop, then record yourself using only voice and then listen to it. This is a guaranteed fix.
Boom, I probably just saved countless keyboards from being destroyed.
if someone gets that upset at a game they probably shouldn't be playing that game.

I read in the forums many times, if you do camp the first survivor you get, you will most likely lose the game, because survivors act smart and do gens instead.
It would be interesting to research, if that is true or you will have an even higher win rate, because they aren't that smart.
The killer choice will affect the outcome as well. I think, if a leatherface camps, survivors are less likely to try to rescue the hooked one.
Thing is that many times the survivors don't do generators. I took all 4 out earlier today pretty quickly after they rushed to save a survivor. Doesn't always go that extreme where the other 3 keep trying but it happens.
Having 2 try and rescue the one is more common while only 1 is on gens which frequently which leads to failure in getting 5 generators done. In those situations I usually let the 4th go.

Srsly there are a lot of new players who come to dbd and they either get bullied by survivors cause of the ######### matchmaking or new players that play survivor and get destroyed by the killer cause of the ######### matchmaking AND their teammates . Give new players a 2x bloodpoint booster and a 2xp booster so maybe people wont just quit it after the first few hours . New players quiting the game is the reason why the queues are so long (especially for survivor side) cause there are no killers . You can see that people instantly stop playing simply by looking at achievements : ,,it wakes" (raise any character to level 10) was completed by only half of the playerbase , half of the playerbase played this game more than a few hours ... ,,getting the hang of it" (leveling up your rank 1 time ) was completed by only half of the players . I managed to start to get stuff that i need for a few killers after 1 thousand hours wich is completely absurd .
So you want a participation award instead of earning it like everyone else did?
Rage quitters are bad enough and now we got people who want hand outs...

I just don't get it. fine you don't want to play a group of SWF but you don't know if it is before you play, sick of waiting to get into a lobby and then having to wait a extra 5/10 mins because killers keep leaving because they think it could be a SWF. its stupid the game has them but dodging one you think could be might put you in another where it actually is a SWF💆♀️
I just find it pointless
How do you know the reason the are leaving is because the think it is SWF and not something else?

They need to try to do gens still. Rank 20 cowards wait it out for hatch. I'm gonna get my gen or chase points, and maybe one of us gets out. Me dying in a chase immediately is better than dying in a chase later, or from EGC after hatch gets closed.
It's not just rank 20. I have seen people as high as rank six do this. Hide in lockers most of the match. Letting the other survivors carry them.

It's not about the duration. The argument is getting banned because of a game crash that had nothing to do with internet issues.
Your still not catching the point. It has been explained to you several times. Like what you have been told or not it has been explained and your are just going in circles.
The problem seems on your end somewhere. Not the game servers. Otherwise more would be experiencing it.
Honestly you may have had some disconnection issues or you may not have. Being at 5 hours(And yes that is a major point on this.) I am guessing that rage quitting makes up a good portion of that and if that is the case I have no sympathy for you. It is a selfish behavior that ruins the match for others.
-
@WestManTooth210 said:
5 hour ban after being disconnected from a game with no other internet interruptions on my internet network. In other words, modem or connection wasn't a issue.
Before you ask, its not about the amount of times that led up to the ban. Its the general idea of punishing players that do nothing wrong. I mean this could have been a 12 or 3 minute ban for the same reason.
Your not catching the point on what your being told.
The game doesn't crash that often for others. No where near the amount of times that would lead up to a 5 hour ban so something else is going on that is somewhat specific to you. For example your system doesn't meet the minimum requirements for the game or your internet connection isn't stable enough(since most aren't having this issue it does seem to be on your end somewhere and not server side).
Their are 4 other players who wait to play a match. if your rage quitting, having system issues, internet issues(I'll reiterate that the problem is not wide spread among other players and as such it would seem it is on your end.), etc. then you're negatively impacting them.
If your up to a 5 hour ban then it is a chronic issue on your end. No matter how many times you state it isn't it a major point on the issue.

There's been a lot of those popping up lately. My 2 cents. Compared to all the other issues with the game. There's more important things we could be arguing over. I'm not really concerned if the survivor/killer is LGBTQ or not. All I want is the next chapter to fix more bugs than it creates.
I know. Who cares if they are LGBT or not. For me it would depend on the perks and the story behind the character. I love the fiction.

For bloodpoints, yes, but what I'm mostly after is xp. Like, the stuff that counts towards your player level and rift tiers. The xp you get from a match of survivor is based on how long you were in that match (capped off at 10 minutes or 600xp). Most matches don't last 10 minutes though, so I stay for as long as possible until the killer physically boops me out of the gate.
I did not know that. I will have to stick around a little longer at the end(unless I am going against the Twins. Victor has the uncanny ability to prevent you from leaving if he latches on. I have used that tactic more than once myself and it can be effective off and on.

Correct me if I'm wrong but you have to be doing something to get Bloodpoints do you not? Just hanging out in the exit doesn't give any.
-
@Dingo88 said:
Why can't people just leave when the exit gates are open rather than make noises to attract the killers attention then keep doing so even tho the killer is miles away just leave no one cares that you beat them just go rather than delay the game further.
What I find fun is pouncing one of the Survivors loitering inside the exit gate with Victor while Charlotte is near and then hooking them. Would not have happen if they had just left. Doesn't always result in a sacrifice however it sometimes it does. Especially if the remaining survivors abandon the one you caught.😜
Use blood warden and if they did hang out to try and rescue the one that just was hooked and they have another problem with the exit gate being blocked for short time(probably seems like an eternity to them until it reopens).

Play friendly legion, not downing or hooking anyone. Then when they all are at a gate, chances are good they are all together and let you hit them with frenzy for free. So you get 4 hits, and then just hit one of them again. That will cancel your frenzy, but still counts.
If you want to play regularly, use both duration addons, equip discordance so you know where they are at the start. And then hope they do not run to far away ^^. You do not even have to get all different, if they mend fast, you can hit them again while still in frenzy. The double duration addons allow that. I had one game some months ago where i was able to chain more than ten frenzy hits, granted the survivor enabled this by constantly mending on the spot, so i could wait besides them with active frenzy until the finished mending ^^.
Your advice helped. I got the Challenge done after so much trying. Thanks.

it's the way it is done that's a problem
Like im fine with keys still opening the hatch but it shouldn't the instant BS we currently have.
also optimal survivors will get at least 3 gens done if not 4, you basically saying as a killer survivors shouldn't get to 1 or 2 gens ever if your good which simply isn't true.
The hatch isn't available at the beginning of the match. When it spawns depends on how many survivors are left and how many generators have been done.

As soon as it opens. And sometimes it is a good idea to it. Such as if your going against the Twins. Victor can prevent you from leaving if he pounces and attaches to you making you an easy target if Charlotte is nearby. -
I don't see a lot of it and when I do it most often by someone using the Cannibal(not sure why they are attracted to this specific killer)
Anyways the killer already gets a score penalty at the end of the match when they camp. I generally don't do it unless the survivors are blocking the hook when I am carrying a survivor.
Anyways killers already get a post match penalty for camping plus the other survivors can go about repairing generators while the killer camps. Should be able to get two maybe even three done while the killer is camping.
As for freezing the timer I can think of several problems with that idea. Most notably the way(s) survivors can exploit something like that.
