Loss of progress.
It may not get forwarded to me until next week (since it's the weekend), but it won't take long.

The tutorial covers the basics. The stuff you mentioned is a little more advanced. Great info to know, no doubt, but you also don't want to overwhelm new players. These are people playing the game for the first time, they don't even know what the hag is yet.
Loading screen tips should fill in those blanks. They'll give you hints based on the killer you're playing against the first few times you face them. -
Later this summer, no confirmed date just yet.

Toxic players do get banned. We can't just ban someone for trivial things like teabagging and camping (especially because camping is such a grey area, and there are times it's the right thing to do).If someone does commit one of the bannable offenses, they'll absolutely get banned.
why is camping a grey area?
To clarify (because I was half asleep when I posted it): It's not just black and white. To one person, it may seem like they're just doing it to grief you. For the other person, it can be totally legitimate. There's times when camping is absolutely the right decision, so we don't ban for it. While it can be used just to grief, it's also a valid tactic. So rather than try to play detective and determine who's in the wrong and play "Am I going to get banned?" roulette, we just don't ban for it at all.
-
If I could make a recommendation: Predator is pretty good on the spirit. It'll basically draw a straight line towards anyone sprinting. Might want to grab it while you can.

SPEAKING OF NOTIFICATION SPAM.This is a tricky thing. On one hand, trying to lure someone away by triggering TOTH is a totally valid strategy. It forces the killer to either break chase or lose their totem. Hitting it a couple times is like taunting them. Totally fair game in my eyes.
But I would say there's a line to draw somewhere. If they're just spamming it and not trying to cleanse it at all, that's mad scuzzy.
To keep it simple, it's a grey area, and there's no rule specifically against it (yet, all rules start somewhere, after all). I'll bring it up with the team. Although this is the sort of thing I would prefer to see fixed mechanically rather than by banning. It could be changed so the same totem cannot create a notification more than once every 10 seconds, for example. That would still give you the benefits of the perk, but it wouldn't be spammable. That way we wouldn't risk banning someone who's just trying to use strategy because we mistook them for griefing. It's also tricky because if they hide before you get there, how do we prove who's doing it?
-
I would love to see that.
-
That would be pretty cool. I always like it when the perks show you how long they're going to be active for, rather than leaving you guessing.

EAC is a third party service that we use to automatically detect cheats from a database and ban people for using them.
We actively seek and ban cheaters.EAC may at some point detect changes to config files and flag you as a cheater.
We will not actively seek you out and ban you for turning on AA and uncapping your framerate. That's why I mean by use at your own risk. We're not going to ban you, but if it gets detected by the anti-cheat, we won't be able to help you.

For now, it's just to earn shards. More could be done with it in the future, though, but I don't think there's any plans for that at the moment.

so not even one mod cares about it? FeelsBadManMods don't actually deal with reports anymore. That's ACM stuff. Either way, reports aren't taken in DMs. I'd suggest doing what MikeStev said and submit it through support. It'll be dealt with that way.
-
Now I'm not going to say everything about totems is perfect, but every other post I see has someone claiming Hex: Ruin is a must use perk. So staying as objective as possible, I don't think they're that bad. I'm totally down for some better totem spots, with TOTH, it's fairly easy to keep tabs on it.
-
It depends.
You're getting chased, you run by someone (intentional or not) and try to dump the killer on someone else so you can escape, that's not bannable.
You specifically try to get someone else killed just because, that's bannable.
The key is when your own survival comes into things. If you're doing it to escape, we're pretty forgiving. If you're going out of your way to get the killer to follow you and show them where other survivors are, that's not okay.
Either way, we review things on a case by case basis. If it's particularly egregious, action probably will be a taken.
-

This little feller' was actually made by a community member.I think a workshop would be pretty cool. Not a mod workshop, but a submit your stuff and the best stuff gets added workshop. If I recall correctly, it's actually quite a bit of work to get everything implemented though. There's a bunch of tweaking involved to make sure everything works right, changing formats, checking textures to make sure nothing is copyrighted, etc.
Would be neat though.

Originally to prevent mass cheating. Nowadays it just prevents you from saving up a ridiculous amount of bloodpoints and skipping an entire prestige, or to instantly P3-50 any new character that's released.and why is that a bad thing if I may ask? Say, I bought a character. Why wouldn't I be allowed to invest 4 million bloodpoints at once to get the max potential out of my purchase? I don't see any logical reason here, so please enlighten me

This change was made waaaaay before I joined the team (I was just a mod at the time), so I'm just spitballing here. If you could save up massive amounts of points and instantly P3-50 a new chapter, that would take a lot of the fun out of it. I know it's cool to knock the grind, but at the same time, that grind gives a lot of people goals to work towards and a reason to keep coming back. I'm guilty of this in most games I play. I can be having fun, but once I reach the max level and have nothing left to do, it just starts to feel a little empty, like nothing you do matters.
So to get back to the original question, if someone were able to save up a ton of bloodpoints and instantly finish a chapter, it could feel very underwhelming. Then they're left waiting for another 3-4 months waiting for new content because they just blew through the last one. Pacing, I guess.
Also gotta' keep in mind that it doesn't change how fast you accumulate BP. You're still getting them at the same rate. The only difference is that you can't skip through progressing something, you can only go part way.

I'm just going to lock this before it can get any worse.

(Overwatch in particular actually had this feature on launch, and then removed it for this reason.) You end up with a bunch of people who arbitrarily say "I don't want to play against this guy because X, Y, and Z", and some the matchmaking struggles to put matches together without any of the people they're avoiding.
While we've got a pretty big community here, it's just not big enough to support that. I don't really think there's a single game out there that is.
I feel you, though. If you get stuck with teammates who don't do anything, I'd suggest grabbing a friend or two (or if none are available, checking the Looking For Players subforum). Even if you grab a complete stranger and team up, they're going to be much more of a team player than someone you've never met before and has no attachment to you.
Btw the avoid player feature is actually still in overwatch as we speak lol, it works like a charm to be honest. But like you said the player numbers on here are way less than overwatch so it would most likely effect the matchmaking.
I haven't played it in quite a while, but waaaaay back they removed the functionality of the button (although they kept the button, for some reason). Something something widowmaker player something something people don't want to play with someone playing widowmaker.
I don't think they added it back in since, but I could be wrong. Again, I haven't played in a long time.

As in support gave you BP? Nah. That's normal. There's normal bloodpoints, and then there's a separate special bloodpoint counter. You can earn normal bloodpoints up to 1,000,000, even if your bonus bloodpoints puts you over 1,000,000.
Does this mean that I can just keep on going?
Or just add 1mil on top of what I recieved? You can earn up to 1m.
Extra BPs granted by support are not factored into that.So say you have 500,000 BP, then support gives you a bunch, you can still earn another 500,000 more before you'll stop earning BP. Spending your points until you're below 1,000,000 will allow you to start earning points again.

I don't understand people who DC if the killer is trying to do a farming run. Rather than DC why not just ignore the farming and rush gens and leave. You will safety or get a pip and get bloodpoints and not be participating in the farm, then if you wish you can report but you can't DC then report.Because they just want to play the game. They don't want to sit there and power generators unopposed. Or worse yet, they don't want to sit there and try to power generators just so they can leave as the killer periodically just decides to grab them off of the generator so the other survivors can heal them for points. It's boring for a lot of people, and that's what I mean when I say that people will end up doing it wrong. If someone doesn't want to farm, just leave them be and let them do their own thing and leave.

Nope, all cosmetic. Though some are bigger or smaller looking, and some like to wear their finest neon clothes while others have more dull clothes that blend in better (Claudette blends in more than David King or Laurie Strode, basically). But as far as stats go, they are all identical.
The male survivors mess with my head so badly though. They've got a different running animation and it feels different, but it's actually the same. I just feel so slow when I play as them.
-
Peanits is here. It happens often. More than you might think, actually. I check in pretty often and clear out any I see.
EDIT: That feel when your phone autocorrects your own name. -
That is a man that has officially given up.
Real talk, he may be having an internet/hardware issue and is having trouble even moving. Or he may just be so mad because of something you did that he just gave up and rage quit. If someone did actually make a DBD playing AI, I'd be impressed, but they'd still have a long way to go.
-
It's still going to happen. Even if there's a tentative date, it's not going to be officially announced until it's actually guaranteed to happen. If something comes up and it ends up being pushed back, then you end up with a bunch of disappointed people. It's also not likely to happen during the PTB because then you either have to choose between double bloodpoints or trying the new content.
It's still summer though. Summer technically ends on the 21st.
-
There's supposed to be one shortly. No exact date yet.
-
I dunno, I think all the perks are pretty decent. Maybe not top tier meta shifting, but they're all worth using. I wouldn't want anything to be so good that everyone uses it anyway.
Spirit fury? Dope. Doper with Enduring.
Haunted Ground? Awesome. Makes totems risky for survivors.
Rancor? Neat. Not really powerful, but good if you have a hard time finding survivors.
Diversion? Fantastic. You can throw a rock at someone.
Deliverance? Cool. You can guaranteed unhook yourself sometimes.
Audidact? I mean it's like having an infinite supply of styptic agents. Throw on spine chill and heal like it's going out of style. -
Hey, glad you're having fun.
I personally really like the pig. She's lots of fun, but I'll give you a heads up, she takes a little practice to get used to. You'll need to manage your traps on the fly and decide when it's best to use them, ideally timing them just before a generator goes off or towards the end of the game (forcing people to stay later). One thing to keep in mind is that her ambush attack is not really meant to be used on survivors that see you.
As for the wraith, he's usually considered one of the lower tier killers. He tends to be pretty powerful in the low ranks (20-15) because newer players tend to not know how to spot him. However, good players will be able to see a slight shimmer if they're alert and also hear your breathing as you approach. This allows them to start running early leaving you standing there to decloak as they gain distance.

Honestly, I don't think it matters. I have zero issues finding another survivor to heal me. Even back when I did run self care, someone would usually show up mid heal to finish it off faster. Two survivors can heal each other in the same time as they could heal themselves with self care.So if anything, it's base heal speed we're talking about. I could go either way on increasing that.
Its not just the speed thats the factor here, its Survivor grouping and efficentcy.
Self Care
-One Survivor not working on gens
-Can be done anywhere at any time
-Killer only finds 1 SurvivorTeam Heal
-Two or more Survivors not working on gens
-Need to spend time finding and travelling to another Survivor
-Killer can find 2 or more Survivors simultaneouslyIts a world of difference that SC makes.
It's all relative. There's loads of situations where one is going to be better than the other. In my experience, I could spend 20 seconds running around looking for someone to heal me, or I could use a perk slot to do it myself in 24 seconds. Sure, I'd be saving an extra 8 seconds, but is that worth a perk slot to me? I'd say no. There's also something to be said about grouping up with survivors anyway to work on generators. After they heal you, you can stick together and head to a generator. They might also need healing too.
-
Predator actually no longer increases scratch mark duration, it just makes them tighter. (i.e. Instead of covering a large area, it covers a smaller area and shows you exactly where they went.)
Lightweight is pretty good as is. It's worth noting that scratch mark visibility is a curve. Toward the end of the curve, it's almost invisible. It's a little hard to describe, but there's some videos demonstrating lightweights effect lingering around. I'd recommend checking them out. It gives you a good feel for just how much it's already doing.
-
Problem: This just forces the killer to stand there and wait as the survivor powers generators, since leaving the hatch to go find and him them leaves you with an empty net. You'd still have a hatch standoff, you'd just be having a standoff with yourself. The survivor knows they can't take it, and the killer knows they can't leave.
Personally, I would rather see an interaction for the killer to close the hatch, and then a ten second interaction for a survivor to re-open it (resets if you let go). That way it's still an option for the survivor, but the killer has a little more freedom to move around and search for them.

Hey again Peanitz, and yeah stupid that the mods can't do anything anymore, they NEED to have mods for stuff like that. It's not that there's not people doing it, it's just that it's specifically an ACM thing now. ACMs are a team dedicated specifically to dealing with reports and support tickets. Mods are more community based (forums, Twitch streams, etc.).
-
I can agree with that. There's definitely a learning curve to playing against a nurse, but it's totally manageable once you get used to it. Range is great and all, but you ain't blinking across the map and landing a hit like a top sniper navy seal with over 300 confirmed blinks.
Three blinks, though, it's hard to miss that. Each blink narrows it down a little bit more. At two blinks, you can already get pretty close even if the survivor has a decent amount of lead. With three, there ain't no way you're missing if you know what you're doing. FIVE? Them's training wheels.
-
Would it be possible? Sure. But that'd be a lot of work to essentially end up right back where you started. Having the game on Steam makes it easier for people to invite friends, keep the game updated, etc.
The forums could be linked within the game itself. Maybe it already is? I haven't had a chance to check out the PTB yet. The support site is linked in-game now, I know that much.
-

No, it will not.
Legacy prestige was added as a way to reward players who managed to prestige through the old bloodwebs. When the game first launched, bloodwebs were much larger and took longer to prestige. This gave the OG players a special reward for the time they spent, while newer players would be able to do what they did but way faster.
Since the console versions of the game were released after this change to the bloodwebs, there was no way anybody on the console versions could have earned them.
Legacy prestige will not be coming back, out of respect to those who originally earned it.
