Anyways, just because the French name for Entity was female, it doesn't mean Entity doesn't have a gender. "Entite" sounds like the word Entity, hence why it may have been picked.

Well, She is the goddess of the Fog. In-game, She is everyone's goddess.
So, you are religious? Are you a member of a Entity cult or something?
Entity is not a goddess. THEY are a malevolent being for sure. Who may or may not be fully sapient. Don't honor them with the "goddess" label. Hell, Entity is more of a "it" if anything else.
They/it are a monster who wants to consume our world and does not care at all for anyone who gets involved in its games. You could even say they are a Lovecraftian monster.
I also have no idea what you've smoked when you say "everyone's goddess". None of the Survivors know about the Entity. Killers don't know much either.
If you are referring to offerings, which might not make sense Survivor-side because Baker knows little about the Entity and he's one of the oldest Survivors, then you could be offering them to a malevolent being, not a benevolent angel.
Please escape this Lovecraftian fetish you have. It is very concerning.

You should give up trying to please people with you playstyle. Even if you roll over and let them win they will STILL toss sass at you. If you enjoy playing this way then keep doing it, if you would rather play another way do that instead. Ignore the messages (or turn them off if you can.) You will be happier for it.

I'd rather go the opposite route - if a hex totem is cleansed, the killer can turn a remaining dull totem into that hex totem, at the expense of time (20 seconds or so). If you have multiple hex totems cleansed, the restore order is based on the hex perk order.Sounds good ... but I was trying to come up with the "laziest" solution to complicate totem play, yours, while cool, would involve extra UI selection, coding and interaction.
@Shad03 said:
Would be better if it could restore a broken dull totem if you defile a active hex totem. But otherwise I like this proposed change, would be lovely to implement. Especially if your totem is in a crap location.
I WOULD LOVE to be able to repair broken totems! However I am not sure how complex that would be for the devs to implement ... however it would eat up some killer time, which is in favor for the survivor, and give the killer the ability to reactivate a wrecked perk.

One major thing is that it would kill off Hex: Thrill Of The HuntThrill of the Hunt would need to be tweaked for sure ... but it wouldn't ruin its effectiveness since it is reliant on the totems still on the map. Having them break and respawn would make the counter go crazy to be sure, but still could work in the favor of the killer. As for it not being in DBD, to each their own .. In a game that is a "simple" as this, I was just thinking of ways to spice up the gameplay a bit. Hexes add a new dynamic to basic play ... I just think it could be a bit more "interesting" .. still .. thanks for your input!

Hey killers you know you can taunt right back right? Nod, shake your head or spin around. I do this all the time at teabaggers. (I just see taunting as part of the game.)
-
Legion is growing on me ... I dont feel as pressured to 4k with Legion (Even though im getting them) because just using my power, tracking and fooling around seems to pip me just fine. Honestly Legion is the lowest stress killer so far. That was originally reserved for doctor or clown, but Legion is taking my third most loved killer.
-
I was thinking of a "move totem" mechanic where the killer kicks their totems and they respawn somewhere else. However I like this idea too as long as the method can be done quickly and reliably ... every second counts ya know?

I'm convinced theLegion was designed to terrorize, not to kill. Getting 8000 in all categories except sacrifice comes easy to the Legion (at least for me.) If they continue to make killers like this they are going to need to make two categories ... Terrorizer (yes i know the proper term is terrorist) they pip due to headgames and control tactic, and Killers that pip due to ACTUAL KILLING.

Ill consider it a good thing that I'm either that-big-of-a- jerk, that most people leave when they see me coming .. I mean they do butt dance ... and I have occasionally have that hard core guy looking for the hatch, but they never hold me hostage.
im sorry its happening to other people. -
I will honestly say that legion is the only killer that can pip without killing anyone. Brutality, Deviousness and Hunter points are easy to get with Legion.. Sacrifice.. not so much.

based on that all the game occurs during night and the game is literally called dead by daylight:yes.
im 100% sure that if there will ever be a video or sth similar to end the dbd lore, it will be a huge and beautiful sunrise, shining over the maps, ending the survivors suffering and maybe - yeah just maybe - destroying the entitiy
Or instead as the sun rises, the sky fills with a sickly red flame. A darkened disk where the sun used to be rises over head. Howls and wailing of the countless souls sacrificed to the darkness can be hear shrieking in the cosmos. In that moment, at the height of the survivors despair, the blackened claws of the entity wriggles out of the black hole over head, its unseen face exposed just for a second to rend the mind of the survivor and send them into the pits of madness. In that last moment it consumes all of this pocket of hell. For darkness, darkness is eternal.
honestly, i dont think this would be a good ending for the lore and story because of multiple points.
first, giving the entity a "face" would not fit to its lore. second, letting the survs suffer is in my opinion a bad move - they could have been free after the sun destroys the entity or sth similarIm a fan of the 70s-80s movies "The badguy wing" kinda dispair, or the wierdness endings of Silent Hill where you dont know if you got the good ending or not. Either way, I dont think this is an experience that the survivors can just put behind them, they should suffer from some kind of PTSD, like most good survival horror sequels.

There is literally no need for this .. there is not a big enough pool of perks for this and grinding is not so abysmal to warrant this. All this would do is get newbies ripped of and start to get dangerously close to the "little effort/great reward" death cycle that would kill this game quicker than a Hillbilly chainsaw. We have the SHRINE, use that.
People can SWF if they want to be carried to the top.

I can see how this could be frustrating when
a) you are still getting used to all the hiding spots on a map
b) some players are just master jukers even at the gate and chases just take forever.
c) they have just gen rushed you, taunted you and pretty much taken the gas out of your will to play the game.I'm a killer main and my only suggestion is to get malicious and sadistic. If they waste your time, farm points from them. Chasing them will help you max out your chase points. Smash pallets. In the end Killer gets more BP than survivor anyway, they are just feeding you and you will in turn get stronger. Spamming a AoE attack (clown, doctor, yadda) with get you more points. Some (on purpose depipping) games all i do is run around in circles and spam shock therapy with the doctor, mos survivors just leave because the screaming and screen effects are annoying. Most survivors chicken out once they see a power rev up or they are getting hit with status effects, billy is great for getting people to just run. Just learn to see it as profiting off of their stupidity.
Just the other day I had a idiot claudette butt dance me at the open gate while playing hillbilly. I downed her and then camped her, delicious instant karma. The rest of the team were sooooo mad at me, and you know what. She was the dummy that didn't get through the gate, I have no remorse for what I did.
Don't let them defeat you, take the power role back.
Aside from that, map awareness comes with time. Most smart survivors know that its only a matter of time before they make a mistake and pay for it. Its not cost effective for them (unless griefing is their goal) for them to stick around forever anyway.Good luck.
-
Frustratingly, most of my crashes are happening mid chase.
-
The game isnt a haunted house kind of game that rewards you for scaring people, or being "creative" before killing. The goal of the Killer is to kill, they aren't "spookers," or "entertainers." If this isn't supposed to be the case, then the terminology and goals of the game need to be changed. I should get points for making the avatar scream and not die. I should get points every time I force a survivor in to hiding. There shouldn't be hooks.. heck there shouldn't be weapons! It should just be a haunted house of jump-scares.
Should the killer kill? YES! Its in the job description!
-
Ah the Clown, a killer who is truly toxic (as in intoxication)! I love his laugh too.
In open areas I can bank shot bottles and be a general beast. Only dumb or inexperienced survivors try to loop me on clown. On indoor maps my range is seriously cramped. However my fast vaulting speed is nice, Ill have to compare legion and clown on window vaulting sometime.A longer intoxicfication would be welcome, and possibly even a bonus for the clown lingering inside his own tonic cloud. I tend to think of the clown as a big-fat-joker archetype and play him as malicious as possible.

drags my face against a cheese grater
Slasher flicks aren't fair. The ones where the survivor gets away is usually against all odds and then the final care happens. How the heck is a game based on Slasher tropes supposed to be fair? The funny thing is, and it has been said a million times, the game is tilted in the SURVIVORs favor. Which is the OPPOSITE of the genre. The game is more Ghostbusters and Stranger Things, than it is a Nightmare on Elm Street or Halloween.
I get that survivors hate the killer because the killer is the "bully" role.
Survivors feel like they should be able to fight back against killers, even if that mean arming them with machine guns and baseball bats. That's the inherent design flaw that most survivors keep missing. They want to fight back because all other games let them fight back. A horror themed game of hide and seek + chase is not how they think the game should be played. Why else do you thing the actual horror genre has gotten so quiet? However this isn't survival horror. This is a niche game. Most normal people play games to feel powerful and heroic, not to feel scared or helpless. However there are horror lovers like myself that love EXACTLY that. The "heroes" shouldn't get weapons to FIGHT the big bad, they should have the tools to ESCAPE the big bad. When a bully comes after you, you want to fight back, hurl insults and tea bag. Not run away. This game is (supposed to be) the antithesis of that. Players want to look Freddy dead in the eye, spit in it, laugh at him and tell him he's nothing. Because again, they don't play games to be victims, they play games to feel powerful.
The side of the killer is mirrored which is where this cyclic animosity comes from. The killer is supposed to be the power role. However when you are playing a game where all four survivors "Ain't scared of nuthin'" it kind breaks the horror immersion.
Thats why I argue that the unbalance and toxicity is good for now. You have a buncha people who could give a rats-rear about the trope and they just want to win... by any means necessary and that's how we are in the state we are today.
The devs know this, so they stay on course of what they think is fun for them, keeping with the genre. Because a game like this is impossible to balance within the minds of its players.
-
The dev team have already stated multiple times anything that isn't a biped/humanoid isn't going to be put in. Your wolfman idea could work in some shape or fashion but the quadraped running is just going to have to stay in a furry fan fic. Lastly the power is very passive in comparison to the active powers most killers have. Im not sure how that would go over.
-
game is 2 year old, going on its 3rd ... Reports say the opposite, instead that more people are playing. However if they drop the game in the next two years i cant say i would blame them; Its not as if people show them much gratitude you know, here on their own forums (reddit is a lil bit better.) Seriously telling me I suck all the time burns me out, thats why I turned my chat off lol. I bet they would feel the same way.
-
Or after a certain amount of time (I still say 5 minutes is enough time to get your teabaggin butts through the door.) once the gates have been opened the location of both the survivor and the killer are shown to each other on the map (Still allowing toxic survivors the ability to loop, play grab-a--, butt dance, whatever.. just not hide for 30 minutes.) and the hatch disappears after the gates are opened (Is supposed to be a "last guy gets away" kinda thing anyway.)
And yes like a previous poster said, if Survivors want to punish killers for camping/tunneling the exact same punishment the survivors create, should be used on them for dragging out a game after the doors have been opened.
-
It could be as soon as the gates open there is a countdown timer. Fail to leave and the entity eats you anyway. Doesn't count toward blood points but at least you arent stuck for 20 min waiting for survivors to leave.
-
Then welcome to Survivor Tier lists and people DCing unless you run the most optimal survivor. Then look forward to the text or voice chats of "please switch to X survivor, because Y survivor sucks." Also expect 4 mans of said survivor if the personal power is considered endgame superior. No one will care about how much time you farmed to get the character you like to look cool. Whey will only want "the best." As it is, you survivors have the freedom to be who you want to be once you level a survivor or two. Killers have tier lists, nerf wars and all of that.. to you REAAAAAAALLLLYYYY want that extra layer of toxicity on your survivors?
-
1) I kill tool boxes first
2) I go after obsession next
3) Med Kits are the next to die
4) Flashlights last (because most people suck at them)I typically ignore the bright colored bait, unless they are just shoving themselves in my face and are body blocking me.
Lastly I tunnel Claudettes.
-
I play "bad" or "sub optimal" killers to De-pip because I like low to mid range games, because they are more fun and less frustrating than try hard SWF garbage. I play my main strong killers not to get too low and stay in that mid range bracket. So Im having fun losing, but not throwing the match, and having fun 3-4king when im done messing around.
-
SWF = should be renamed and redone as Ranked Matches
Solo = should be renamed and retooled as unranked Matches
Kill your Friends = should have no bearing on the game as it is kind of a freeplay/creative mode anyway. My two cents.
Also this communication/voice chat thing being tossed around as being game breaking is kind of hard to combat when consoles like PS4 and XBox have it built into their systems. Punishing PC users for using chat is just dumb, (I play on console btw.)
-
Guys look, I agree with you, but I also see why the Dev's probably aren't going to touch it for a while. Like most cost/demand/stress micro-transaction tactics, this is to encourage players to buy DLC for the perks. While I would LOVE for them to fix it, I highly doubt with the current climate of online gaming that this is going to happen.
I agree regardless, free killers and survivor perks shouldn't really be in the shrine. BP rewards should be higher for repeat perks (Since you know, you cant buy anything other than web-stuff with it.) A perk calendar would be nice too, so I know how hardcore i need to get into the farming.

They are NOT "trying to get off the hook" and you know it. They are using it to circumvent being a dc. If they were legitimately trying they would have struggled too.
So on top of it you want them to be bait for the killer, or struggle as long as possible when everyone is on the other side of the map? Stop being so single minded and think about the other reasons outside of your personal feeling space, as to why dying on the hook is warranted. Oh, but wait, we both know this is about YOUR game and YOUR fun, so everyone else doesn't matter.

Its still hook / hook / dead ... They could make the window really small and make it wider for Ace like perks. Im a killer main, so i suck a survivor, I always fail my coin tosses. Feels bad man.
I just mean that the devs made a Perk separately to be able to achieve this result.
A.k.a. they don't think you should be able to get off the hook with just a Skill Check.
And i can definitely see why they think that: If i carry a DS user without dribbling, i WILL get stabbed.I honestly didn't think of it that way .. fair enough. +1 Understanding

I dont see DS or NOED being the issue.
If this were a single player game there would be wiki's filled with "the best build this" and "theme build that." However that's the thing, this isn't a single player game. It is a "us versus them game." Ramp up the competition with the fact hat unlike many other games, the survivor cant just bring a weapon to down the killer. So how do they fight back against something that seems inherently "unfair" in the scope of so many other competitive games? They toss insults, they tea bag, the pitch a fit.
The killer is inherently in a position of power. They can hit people but they cant get hit back. Its the "bully" role, but when the survivors who are supposed to be helpless before your might, still have the power to frustrate and confound the killer .. drains said "fun" of being in control and being in power.
I love this game, toxicity and all. This is also why I love the horror genre, it brings out the truth in people in my opinion. This game is honest as it cant get. I have all of my chat muted when i play, but I can still feel the seething honest toxicity coming from this game like so many of the "Souls" series. Its cathartic to me.
The only way you can remove toxicity from a game like this is to make it a Co-Op pve experience, but then even THAT would only last so long. One people want to be the BEST at something and BETTER than someone or everyone else, you are going to get the same effect. You can't rid a social interactive game of toxicity any more than you can remove "evil" in the world. You can only develop defense measure to cope or protect yourself from it.
-
Freddy regardless of the version is definitely evil, he was guilty of his crimes when he was alive (its just the context of those crimes changed per/post 2010) I still consider Freddy the most evil out of the lot. Clown fits the bill too. The Doctor is very much a evil person.
Meyers is kinda like a force of nature or and animal imho. Evil yes, but I don't think he is a sadist.
Leatherface and Billy seems to be a bi-product of terrible circumstances like Hag and Huntress. Trapper walks a very fine line that I almost put him with team Freddy, but i can still say it was the way he was raised.
Wraith is more of a vigilante. To the point you wonder why he is working with the entity at all.
Nurse literally went insane from grief.
Spirit wanted revenge for what happend to her family.Legion followers I see in the same context as the Pig, both are misguided and were created by something much more sinister than they were. Wraith was a vigilante.
The leader of the Legion however, like every other cult leader I consider the most dangerous, simply because their evil can spread like a virus, its not self contained. Its not content with destruction but it craves corruption (Just like freddy.)

I find Legion fun .. Not my main, but fun to mess around with. I keep getting curb stomped by survivors atm (that's not fun) but I'm sure with time I can improve. I like matches that go over 5min, those are fun. 5 min teabagging SWF teams are not fun for me. Yeah, I just want to play and have fun.
