Personally, i think prove thyself and really good toolboxes are the issue.

Toolboxes used to be way way stronger then now tbh, and indont feel like they are part of the problem, i feel they are fine

Yet à good team with POve thyself and à bit of coordination can slam gens fast

But having 3 survivors doing separate gens is even faster in the end

The thing is more that killers dont have many options to stop gens from being worked on and need to stavk gen slowdown perks instead

Increasing the penalty just in case someone may be running prove thyself. No offense I think it’s a bad idea. I think it’s a bad idea to balance anything in this game around a player maybe using a specific perk. As if nobody has that perk now they’re at a much larger disadvantage

As the game feels like its balanced arpund the killer having pop/ruin :')

But youre absolutly roght on this

I also think they need to increase the penalty percentage for having more then one survivors on gens as well to nerf prove thyself so it wouldn't be as effective as it is.

The other fix could be decreasing the map size so the killer can patrol gen without wasting more time to get their depending on the map.

Decreasing maps sizes will also make it so that tiles spawn even closer to each other, it wouldnt help much then

Rather give the killer à fun way to move around the map like portals on the walls to travel quickly like demo and reach further gens faster, whoch will also make it so that you get out of the simple "do the middle gen first" mind out as it would be the safest gen from the portals

I've seen the free Iron Will thing before. I don't think it's particularly new.

I didnt knew for this one, ot was my first time seeing it :)

  • @humanbeing1704 said:

The iron will thing seems to happen when you get unhooked for some reason

Yeah thays when it happened for me actually!

  • Keys are broken

They offer the hatch ( easy escape) to 1-4 survivors

You basically cannot stop them unless you have Franklin or insta downs, if you hit the key survivor he can go through you and get the hatch open as he was fully healed

Its à free get out of jail card for 3 survivors that 3 gened themselves

In the loby you cant always see the key with the background/certain survivors

Last second switch in the loby is still à thing

Broken keys are useless and they show à full key skin and got no power duration (whoch is sad cause there are some keys addons i woild love to run, but without the key to open the hatch you, know)

It was à bad move that Moris got changed but not keys as both practically just need one number to be tweaked

  • Only leveled as a killer on trickster for the P3 and got... 47 cakes

(I dont like giving cake as killer)

On survivor i got on my best survivor level up... 27...

Last year i had on one survivor alone over 80 for 50 levels to level up

I had over 300 or 400 cakes for just survivors

This year i got almost nothing, and this made this event even.sadder to me

  • Spirit and Freddy... just unfun to face and play against

  • @Laluzi said:

I'm pretty sure that's intentional. Turning up the brightness is a direct buff to killers (and survivors versing stealth killers - ever tried playing Ghostface on Coldwind?), as it makes survivors stand out much more and diminishes the ability to hide by crouching in shadows, bushes, and corners.

Thats why many plays the game in low, cause it is less dark and it really sucks to have some places that are.so dark, that it also gives an unfair advantage for certain survivors

Beside we are in 2021, many PCs can use Nvdia anyway so might as well just do it...

And as a reminder, thereare players that changes their résolution to have an advantage in game too

  • @Bluerry said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2366965#Comment_2366965

well you can tell if a survivor tries to take you somewhere just don’t chase that one and even if you don’t get the down you can have the pallets and if you focus on your 3 gen you would be fine with your regression perks I am not saying it is easy but adding one more gen is not the solution and still if u loose 3 gen at the start it is probably bc of a bad call

I didnt say one more gen was the solution

Yet ill keep on repeating myself, the game should NOT be balanced around bringing slowdown perks, it should never be

  • @Bluerry said:

I think you are chasing someone more than you should gens are fine if u down someone before 80 secs and hook that person now someone has to unhook which means 2 people on gens and you presure one of them so at the begining you ll loose one gen or two loosing 3 gens i think you were just commited that chase more than u should ve

It really isnt hard for the first chase, as a survivor, to be like 80 secs long, youve got all yoir pallets and winows Open and ready...

And even if you just run of the opposite of your team and the killer downs you quick, he gotta hook you and go across the map, giving enough time to complète 2-3 gens

And xhen 3 gens are down, if you dont hook or kill someone quickly, you got waywayway too much pressure as a killer

This is how I would do Basekit NOED/Corrupt/Key

    CORRUPT:

    Generators:

    • Introduce Disrepair state
    • Generators in Disrepair require a Part to be fixed and have progress started.
    • The Killer cannot tell the difference between a Generator in Disrepair and one that is not in Disrepair.
    • 2 nearest Generators to Survivors start the Trial in Disrepair
    • Farthest Generator from The Killer starts the Trial in Disrepair.

    Part:

    • Open Chests can be Rummaged to find a Part Item.
    • Parts can be installed into a Generator in Disrepair
    • BNP no longer adds extra generator repair progress, instead functioning as a Part.

    Chest:

    • Chests that can still be Rummaged for a Part have noticeable metal bits in the bottom texture.

    Appraisal (Perk):

    • Rummaging for a Part takes priority, or Appraisal uses the Secondary Action Button.

    Corrupt (Perk):

    • Blocks Generators in Disrepair for the same duration and highlights them.

    NOED:

Integrate Totems as a Core side-Objective.

    • Dull Totems turn into Hex Totems when the Exit Gates are powered. These Hex Totems can be Crushed by The Killer to Expose Survivors for 60s.
    • Totems play Whispers while a Player is within 4m, accompanied by a slight black fog screen border. (an audio/visual tell that allows Totems to be placed in much less obvious visible spots, think hollowed out tree trunk)

    HATCH/Key:

    Keys:

    • Opens Breakable Walls and Chests, no longer opens Hatch.

    Hatch:

    • Is removed and is replaced with a Primordial Rift under the same spawning conditions.

Primordial Rift: (The Observer is no longer simply Observing, The Entity has already had its fill and at this point its a symbiotic relationship, Hope once again where hope was lost)

    • Three states: Inert, Sundered, Open
    • Starts the Trial Inert, with visibility under the same conditions as The Hatch.
    • Is much like the current tome glyphs with how it appears to Survivors/Killer when visible.
    • Inert Rifts that are visible can be Sundered by Survivors at 1c/s.
    • Sundered Rifts take 60c to Open and Alert The Killer of their presence.
    • Multiple Survivors can help (similar to the Demogorgon's Portals) (Edit: Would need to have diminishing returns for each Survivor)
    • Survivors that Interact with an Open Rift escape the Trial.
    • Killers can close Sundered and Open Rifts, beginning the End-game Collapse. (Edit: Perhaps only starting the EGC when all Exit Gates have been powered, otherwise resetting all progress)
    • The Rift Opens when there is only one Survivor remaining.

    New Item: Memento

    • When you Cleanse a Totem it drops a Memento (a Skull)
    • Using this Item reveals Rifts within 8m.
    • Sacrificed/Killed Survivors leave behind a Memory Rift visible only to those holding a Memento.
    • Interacting with a Memory turns the held Memento into a Charged Memento.
    • Mementos add 1c/s to the Sunder Action.
    • Each Memory a Memento has absorbed adds an additional 2c/s to the Sunder Action while held.
    • Standing over a Charged Memento with another Memento will allow the Shared Knowledge Action, transferring all Memories to the held Memento.

I Aint sure for the rift part...

But the rest is actually some neat ideas, even tho you could just make all gens need à part to start, the part could be laying around or inna special chest, and could force survivors to go through the map once, eventually giving the opportunity to interact with the killer

Yeah, I get the exhausted feeling often as a red ranked killer. To the point that playing that role feels like it's more trouble than it's worth.

Although I've been playing for 1149 hours and still feel like I've hardly improved. So that could be a factor.

Hey we are in the same spot!

  • I...actually love this idea

Its an.interesting and original way to counter her!

And you can then work around it so its usefull but not abusable (i hate spirot, but lets not turn her into the killer from HsH)

  • Zombies dont have that many.counters, flash light/palletstun/lead them somewhere and loose them

So nah it shouldnt affect them, espexially in their current kinda buggy state

  • @Northener1907 said:

I know people wanna this map so much (even me) but this map will be new Haddonfield. Just dream, street with bars, stores, entertainment venues. So much building :) I can see how much people will hate.

    But i still wanna!

    What about the concert place?

Or the place where Rickster doez his shenanigans?

    Big screens stuff like that

  • @N_Crawler said:

You never know, they could be cooking up some maps for them as we speak.

They basically said they dont really wanna do à map for à killer that is out alrrady as they focused on reworking older maps

  • I would love it for all thé killers that got none...

Trickster and his stage/backstage with big screens and places not to be with this idol

Blight and his library/alchemy lab and the surrounding forest, testing and searching among the entitys realm

And the twins with her older France map/village with à place that reminds her of this one sect that took her... like the temple but with à seperation between the normal life...and the scary underground

  • Green/purple ranks are my fav to play on...it just feels balanced and fair from both sides when the match making is good

Yet you play and go back up in the réd and

Yeah it doesnt feel nearly as fun to play then but i do with it

  • @Munqaxus said:

    Definitely Nurse.

Someone that took that much time to learn Nurse is sweaty AF.

Tbh... i see 2 kind of good nurses...

The one that still play fair while being able to use her power to the best

And the sweaty one who abuses it as à revenge from the bullying while learning

Yet i can...somehow understand both of them lol

  • @TacitusKilgore said:

After playing this game for a while this question has sort of dawned on me. I've personally noticed that the sweatiest killers tend to be Plagues, Spirits, and Freddys. The most memey/kindest killers i've noticed were Blights, Ghostfaces, and Demo's. What do you think?

No one sweat as much as Spirit players

    Really

They know her power is broken and unfun and they abuse it

Also Freddy players where pften lile that before his nerf...now o dont see any anymore and its better

Well, I do mention him most of the time, because he was my all-time favorite killer, but I am not sure if it is enough to be labeled as "series".

Well i often saw you talkabout old freddy thats dhy i said that

  • @GeneralV said:

Well, I don't exactly have a series but most of my comments are related to the past, sometimes even with nostalgic pictures. Does that count?

What about à serie about old freddy?

  • Spirit...

Unfun gameplay to face with no counter

Spirit players know that and abuses it

Many spirit are sweating their games off

Resulting in survivors doing the same

Resulting in poor game health and unfunny games

  • I will complain

Because people dont just use strong builds/add ons etc, they abuse them

Because it makes for unfunny matches

Because it pulls the game always closer from an unhealthy state and gameplay

Because the devs dont want to listen and change some things that should have been changed long ago

  • TO Win, to lose, knowing one without the other would be maddening

there will alwzys be a winner/looser

And you dont need to sweat to win

Yet people sweat to do so, and makes for an unhealthy gameplay forcing the other side to weat back, boom, now you have unfun games for everyone

  • @GeneralV said:

The things I hate most in this game are:

Ghostface, Trickster, The Realm Beyond, Keys, Freddy's rework and Keys.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2357240#Comment_2357240

That is not very nice :(

Sorry but freddy players often piss me off lol

Old freddy was weak but fun!

And when you want for the game to be à fun game to play and chill, you sometimes gotta be à bit meaner :(

  • @Zokenay said:

    As either survivor or killer.

For me as a survivor, it would be those STUPID ninja skill checks, i swear every single time i get off a gen a skill check pops at that exact moment making the gen explode.

Spirit/freddy players, they sweat their lives off

Sweaty player when.we could just enjoy the game

    Lag spikes/freezes

    Keys

Yes, I certainly would be surprised given that it happens to me once in a blue moon. Killers I see doing that tend to just be pretending that the hook is too far away when in reality the amount of distance you can cover is enormous.

And even then, that requires survivors to be staying completely still and having no chance to escape at all, in which case any anti-BM mechanics like what was suggested wouldn't work.

Hawkins/Swamp are two maps where you can find big deadzones even worse if someone died on the only hool available nearby

Or you know there is à sabotage near the only hook you can reach

I dont like à bleed out slug,.but when you dont have à choice...

Beside if key man gets saved, its an easy hatvh escape

  • I yet have to see people offer me some mercy kills or hooks tbh

  • @Starshadw said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2355581#Comment_2355581

    This is an excellent point.

Even the slowest Killer is faster than survivors' base speed. Exhaustion perks that give a speed burst only last 3 seconds. Add in Bloodlust, add in the number of Killers who can simply ignore pallets and loops (and because of how over-tuned Wraith is right now, he counts as one of these), add in that there's currently no effective counterplay to Hag and Trapper traps (they are both far more difficult to see, and with the removal of them from Small Game, there's literally nothing in the game that gives you any chance to detect them whatsoever, so you have to just hope that somehow, your eyes spot them) - why the hell would any survivor want to loop? There's no benefit to it. The only benefit right now is to get as much distance from the Killer as possible - while at the same time trying to draw them away from where teammates are working on gens. You want to know why you're seeing so many folks running Sprint Burst? This is why.

This is kind of the matter

I mean, yes survivors can just run straight and its à normal thing but here is the thing:

You can waste more time from the killer, by just runing forward and vaulting à fiew windows here and there with far less risks.

Of course à good looper can waste way more time.from à killer, but in this case you dont need to be "good" as you can waste somewhere between 40-60 secs easily, and without dropping any pallets

The complain is that in the current state of the game, this strategy engages à level of gaming that is unfun to play, as just chasing someone running toward à corner isnt as entertaining as trying to mindgame à loop is, which is the core design of the game, and it is an easy counter to many killer perks/powers

So à good looper > à holding W survivor > à bad looper > all the survivors i have when i am playong survivor, my gosh it isnt that hard

  • @Starshadw said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/265726/hold-w-meta-is-unplayable-against

Y'all REALLY need to stop complaining about survivors engaging in a basic function of the game - forward movement aka running. What are they supposed to do instead? Fly? Belly crawl? Dance?

I want to see them dance to escape the killer

  • @Mister_Holdout said:

I haven't been grinding as much as I normally do during events. At least I unlocked P3 on Nemesis.

A lot of my game time has been eaten up playing a new game I bought during the Steam summer sale.

That said, I still plan to play DbD a decent amount before the event ends.

Tbh i have been playing as much as i normaly do... and its only been going downhill and deceiving, mostly unfun for an event

And it scares me to think this is the way DbD will go

  • @ThiccBudhha said:

It is going great. I have 3 killers at level 50. I have one at 45 (actually had every perk I needed by 40, but then I accidentally leveled one of them to 41, so my OCD kicked in). One killer at 40. 2 killers to 30. And some excessive 9 levels I threw on someone before I bought more killers. Rofl.

Oh, and a survivor to 50.

Very great progress for a beginner if I do say so myself. My goal is to get the level 40 killer and the two level 30 killers maxed, and maybe a few extra levels to fish for BBQ, Ruin, or NOED, depending on what they are missing. Maybe finish up the level 45 who doesn't need it just to make the page only level 1 or 50 besides whoever I am working on.

If youre beginning, make the most of the event and cakes :)

And dont force yoirself to have the perks people tell yoi to have, play with the perk you want to play with to.enjiy yoir games

  • @Laluzi said:

Having a good time. I've levelled up a lot of characters - P1ed Nemesis, Nurse, Hag, Bubba, Zarina, David, Bill, Ace, Meg, P3ed Pig. Gathering cakes on my P3ed Wraith (32) and Plague (64). Tried collecting event items on Jane, but the survivor bloodwebs are just so bad. Bought Oni and Trickster with shards, and I'm having fun with Oni. Mostly playing killer and then taking it easy on survivors, making sure everyone walks out with 20k+ bloodpoints - gathering cakes is an exercise in frustration as survivors and I can't control whether I don't make enough points to make the cake even worth it when I do use them.

Tbh gathering cakes as killer is simple, you get 1-2 per level

As à survivor this year you get either cakes or items, last year you had one garanteed cake pee level, cause i had like over 30 or 40 woth each of my survivor...and this year i got like 20 at best for all my survivors

  • @scenekiller said:

I've p3ed some survivors (including Jill and Leon after only being out less than a month!), gotten a ton of cakes, and gotten some good perks from the shrine. Also got a few adepts out of farming matches, even if that's a cheap way to get them lol

Overall, very well! I just wish the glaring lag and performance issues didn't hinder everything.

Glzd you are enjoying yours :)

Wish i had à.foew farming rounds for the crowns lol

    It's a'ight

Most games have at least two cakes in play (I am always playing a cake or BPS if I don't have one).

It would be nice if there were less jerks going out of their way to ruin it (not people playing normally, survivors rushing like they'll die in real life if I catch them once or killers just face camping) but I've found that's maybe...15% of my games. Overall people have been relatively chill. I wish more survivors would take advantage of me hitting them at the gate so they can heal each other and we all get free points but I do understand why so many are gunshy about it (even though once I hit, I step WAY back to make sure it's clear what I'm doing).

I'd like the event to be a bit more than just a copy/paste of last year but whatevs.

    The copy/Paste is really cheap

Glad you can enjoy, i see many cakes but the games.usually dont go very high with the points anyway so its à bit useless, i cant even give cakes lol

  • Most of the time thé servers says that i, as the killer, cannot get the grab

Beside survivors can still find ways to abuse the grab system by letting go at the right time so the killer cannot grab them on the next try and is forced to do an M1, i still see this happening in my games and its à stupidly broken bug/mechanic

  • @DwightFairfield said:

2/10 times, and those 2 times are a miserable sweatfeasts with typically toxic endgame chats because the Spirit player doesn't want to admit how terrible they are at the game, and my teammates want to lick as much salt off the floor as they can.

I think Spirit players are as bad and unhealthy for the game as Spirit herself, I don't care if the killer is good, I want to be able to beat them without degrading my soul.

Thank you Dwight for telling the truth

Yes Spirit is unhealthy and their players are very very often sweatlords that need to absolutely win no matter what

Makes for the most unfun games...

When we see à Spirit with friends, its either we die, pr we rushed the gen to get out asap, making for à lame game for everyone

And i fear that someday it will become true or that they wont have any reason to let à gen go tbh :(

Besiee then if we unequip our DH, it means we are back at tinkerer/ruin/undying righr? Lol

  • Its like one of the most fair perks in the game

You counter it at any time by finding thé totem

With it killer cannot camp or they dont get stacks

If they tunnel 2 survivor down they wont reach thé 5th stack until thé 3rd survivor

You. Can. Still. Lose. The. Totem. In. The. First. Seconds. Of. The. Match.

    The last rifts where 70

And yet you needed to do all the challenges and then farm the 10 last levels or so...it was boring

    The current versionnis better

Yes, because turning the volume up and expensive headphones is what doing the killing right?

Legends says that you can even go maie a sandwich and when youre back, your headset killed all these filthy survivors

  • DS needed a good nerf/balance for a loooong time

It is not perfect, but it defo isnt too weak

Now as a killer player i would still have ideas to turn it into a true anti tunnel perk/gameplay mechanic to stop hard tunneling, but saddly i also learnt that sometimes you dont have a choice then to tunnel someone out

  • No,

Turn up the volume and its the same

Or buy yourself that sweet 3k $ headset and boom youre just as fine

Spirit is still problematic on herself

  • The RBT activates on a survivor when a generator is completed

The timer is about 2m30s befpre popping without addons

The timer gets paused whenever you chase a survivor or when they are unable to try to get the trap off (so hook or slugged)

If the survivor tries to leave the trial with an active trap through the door it will pop, yet it will not if the trap is inactive (so not activated, you chase them or they crawl out)

They can still leave through the hatch with a trap thats active

A survivor gotta search through 4 boxes to be able to get the trap off without addons

So basically...put a trap on a.survivor and let them waste time while you down and hook other survivors to slow the game up and kill them

  • Saddly for you and everyone, Jeepers Creepers will never be in DBD so uuuuh

1 … 5 6 7 8 9 … 13
