  • Used to play nicer when it was done

But now some people do ot for no reason, or will abuse bugs,

So eh, if they seemed funny i will let one escape but otherwise ill play normally and end the game quickly

Yes it was. Tell me something that was bigger and brought in more people.

    Myers chapter

Because some can argue that without it, the game would be dead long long ago

  • @Tsulan said:

Sbmm is a good thing. Because it finally shows to everyone how unbalanced the game is.

Kill rates are dropping significantly. Now we only need to wait until the devs notice and do something about it.

Theyll see the kill rates drop to 50% and be like "yeah we did à good job, the game is balanced!"

True, took them years to simply change NUMBERS.

    -Buff wraith movement speed

    -Change trap escape attempt

    -Change iri head add on

    -Change clown bottle reload speed

I can go on but u get the idea, everyone is demanding for a trapper buff and when they finally do it, it's gonna be "increased starting bear trap to 2 (was 1)". Behavior is like the EA of updates

And wheb they do bigger buffs they arent always usefull

-Clowns yellow bottle is mostly used to shut down loops even faster then before

-Trickster is even stronger in 1v1 and downs survivors super quickly!

....but we where many to say hes mostly fine, needzd some aim biffs and something for map pressure...yet they buffed the 1v1 more instead

Imo killers shiuld be created à bit weaker, espdcially when SOLD and be buffed or balanced soon after whith feesback, but thzy dont do that saddly

  • You know its pretty obvious why they do that, but here is the catch:

They take so much time to buff à killer and not often in the right direction

    So...eh

  • @Veinslay said:

I believe they're doing it so players can't figure out how to manipulate their MMR to bully less skilled players. Some people believe it's because they haven't actually made a new system, and it's all a placebo.

Yeah... no i dont buy that

If you play the game you can just be afk, or do nothing and loose some "rank scores" so

Nah i dont buy that bad excuse

  • @MadLordJack said:

Every system needs to settle once it's activated, something that isn't even worth mentioning.

    Sooooo yeah.

The fact is, you cant have à system "settle" by giving you matches in all kind of range when

-you say youve been collecting datas for monthes

-your promise is that you can now play killers you never play cause their MMR wont be as high as the ones you play à lot (cause if i still face very good players as, say, i play Billy for the very first time, its not exactly as told by BHVR)

But those are topics where everyone can be right or wrong... i mean... we dont have numbers

  • @wxnickxw said:

The only problem is if your unable to lower your rank.....unless it's bugged of course. That would never happen with these devs right?

Grade doesnt give you anyfeedback on the MMR you can be ash with à MMR score as good as an iri player, he just played more then you basically (or you played very very selfishly)

They Said you can lose pips on your grade, yet cannot drop à grade anymore, so if you want the Iri 1, just power your way in

  • @MadLordJack said:

Your MMR isn't 0. The system has been gathering data since killers were locked into lobbies.

Mandy also said that even tho they collected data, your starting MMR could be missplaced/missmatched and be too high or low

    Sooooo yeah

  • @TacitusKilgore said:

I've also felt really incentivized to leave as early as i possibly can. Every time i die (Even if it was because i was saving somebody from a facecamp, or other nuanced scenarios that aren't really a "loss") i still get paired up with people who are clearly way below my skill level. The system encourages you to win at all costs and sacrifice your teammates in the process if you ever want to enjoy the game. Get facecamped? Enjoy being paired with a bunch of rank 20 leon mains! I hate it, the system is not nuanced enough and does not take into account enough possibilities to be effective. Losing to an infectious+starstruck nurse should not make the system consider me a bad player.

I Don't like being selfish. But i can already feel the impact MMR is having, and i know other players are too. if you aren't playing selfishly as a survivor, you are actively jeopardizing the fun of your future matches.

Well this would confirm what i am thinking and feeling

(And just gives another reason to the list of why MMr is super bad for the game)

  • @fogdonkey said:

Maybe that's the winning strategy overall. Trying to rescue often brings more sacrifices.

Just saying, don't want to imply anything, and maybe it is not even true.

Yeah, but then it really will just create à toxic gameplay where à hooked survivor is basically dead

Its frutrating cause they take No risks and still wait 5 mins at the gate

But lets go in a monstrously bad meta yeah

This is true BUT paying them tons of cash for skins will make them focus more over doing skins and less over game health even if it is 2 different teams

Because theyll go full house on the part that brings money

Console is STILL the best exemple, skins coms out à dozen at à time, often overpriced, and they keep on doing them but game health and console are...non existent currently

Yet giving them less money over skins will (or thats the idea at least) force them to see that there are important matters to be taken of.

But i know we will never reach this point, people need à 10th new ugly ultra flashy skin on Nea as they barely use the 9 others you know

  • Easy answer: useless add ons are not used and thus dont need to be balanced !

It saves BHVR à lot of work and money this way !

Wish for more creative add ons then just some kind of power buffs...or nerfs sometimes

I mean it's 4 brains (even thought at times it does not seem like it)vs 1 brain. So yeah clearly the team with more people usually tend to have the advantage, especially in video games.

I wouldnt even mind of survivors had to truly use their brains in a 4v1, thinking about à plan, what to do, loop or rescue and add more stuff from that point... but instead its more "4 x 4 strong perk (potentially) vs 1 killer that can potentially have 4 strong perk"

I dont mind having strong perk, or killers, good survivors that can use loops well, but when the game comes to à point that à playee gotta play perfectly to win, it gets frustrating, being human means doing mistakes

Beside i find it à bit BS that one team of 4 can bring 4 times à perk that can completly change the course of à game against à team of 1

The person holding the box can still do gens, but chain hunt still becomes active for the box holder, so it stops them from doing gens. Holding the box hostage is honestly really bad for the team, because Pinhead still gets his m2 ability, and the survivors are down a teammate.

I mean, youre down à mate but youre against à killer that doesnt have map pressure and à more situational power soooo... i dunno i think there can be ways this gets usefull or abused?

Also in the fiew games i played (less then 10 for now) i have only 2, maybe 3 games where the chain hunt actually started, would love to have something to also play à bit more with this part of his kit

  • Some nice tips indeed, but a lot comes by learning, yet i still got the feeling he isnt much stronger then clown without his chain hunt (because clown can slow you down without being slowed down, even in open areas) but for that i need to play more first

Yet even if his hunt is the best part and shouldnt be accessible that easily... i just find it bad that you have no help on finding the box to start it early, and even.if he isnt doing much, that one survivor can basically still hold it hostage and protect his mates from being chain hunted (i dunno tho if they made it so that he cant do the gens anymore, as of seen in the ptb)

Im eager to try him out more, but i already kinda see some of his limits and weaknesses, especially on map pressure

  • @blue4zion said:

I think the OP meant "will Hellraiser not *come*"

When you interact with the Box

You know the bug joke haha funny *party hats*

But i think we know whag will happen

  • @fogdonkey said:

It is absolutely not clear why it should be a bad idea.

Quicker and better? They should hire you then I guess.

You don't need to know the win conditions. They just use it in the end to create balanced matches and by balanced they mean that the most likely end result will be 2k 2e and there is no huge difference between "skill".

Not sure why RNG is a problem. Sometimes it is in your favor sometimes not. After a few games the bad and good luck averages out.

If by sweaty you mean no more easy 4k for killer or easy 4e for survivors then yes.

Quicker and better: an easy rework of the current rank system while making pipping harder and spreading the points more in the 4 different categories to force Survivor to do more then just gens, leave = 1 pip

It would have been at least worth à shot, because people complain about how bad survivors or killers are still all gathered in the red ranks because of how pipping is super easy

Also having an MMR means competitive gameplay, and for that you NEED to know your objectives to rank up and down, why? Because of not, players will just take the basic objectives and rush through them as quickly as possible, so surv have no reason not to gen rush, and killer not to tunnel, which leads to an unhealthy and bad gameplay

And thus what i mean by "increasing the sweatyness" as people that wanna go high ranks will tryhard even more for that

Also RNG is a big problem for an MMr, imagine you wanna climb the "ranks" as you play, say, Billy, and now you see you are on a map lile Lery...basically you gotta play almost powerless, and this is one exemple over so so many, How Loops chain, which loops you got, which BUGS are gonna f over you

Beside since the system probably doesnt care which perks you got, add ons and map offerings...it will basically mean only strong addons and only strong survibor maps for high MMr as they can choose whoch map they wanna go in, and basically, why wouldnt you just play on your best maps?

MMR will also mean that fun build/certain killers will be less and less seen as you climb the ranks and face only the same 3 killers, 5 at best

Also it will not create à "perfect balance of 2 kills and 2 escape" the higher the MMR the more youll see that survivors can do the gens with minimal casualties and so make 4 escapes with very fiew hooks, unless you play the best killers with the best meta perks to even compete

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/277305/dbd-is-not-ready-for-a-sbmm-system

    If you think so...

What's the point of posts like this? You think DBD devs will read this and say: "Oh this guy from the forum with 0 knowledge of the MMR implementation details must be absolutely correct, let's just throw the 2 years of MMR development into the bin."

Since the first day it was clear that MMR was à bad idea (and too pricey fpr what they ciuld have done quicker and better otherwise)

In the 2 years pf developpment we STILL have the exact SAME questions over the MMR, it still is unclear what your rank/objectives etc is,

The game is not balanced enough for that and got way too much RNG

Games will only get more sweaty

But yeah, i guess the forum players that play the game à lot cant give any form of feedback (that will be ignored anyway) to some devs that dont seem to be above rank 10 and dont seem to play the game that much in the end

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Yet if you need an advantage to win, it tells à lot

  • One of the bzst and most balanced map, where the pallets arent too strong or weak

And where loops arent just à chain of unmindgamable pallets/jungle gym

Good totem spawns and sometimes hard to find

    Great feeling overall

  • The base idea was nice and good...

And it got wasted by stupid placement that either creates new infinites/force the killer to waste time to break them

Or they are so useless that they are forgettable

    Over all: baaaaad

  • Been saying all the time why MMR is à very bad idea for the game and why just changing the currznt ranking system would have been easyer/better/less costy or at least worth à try

Not knowing and therefore getting a more accurate matchmaking as a result is way better than knowing and manipulating results to completely bugger up the experience for the player doing it and all those around.

The current system is a prime example of how players abuse the system to gain unfair advantages. Granted, the system had faults of its own, but player manipulation no doubt caused problems too.

Because of this, I hope we never know how they do it, because - to loosely quote a rather famous movie line - "life finds a way".

It also means prépare for mean players and sweat lords that will rush their objectives (gen rush/mass slug/tunnel) more to have quick escapes/kills to up the ranks quickly

Why? Cause you dontnknow what is considered à win or à loss

  • Weak into buffs when they are well done and listened to some real feedbacks

Strong into weak can lead to the same problem as the ash survivor DLC that many noight for one of his perk that was super OP and got nerfed to the point you dont see it anymore (which is good), its like doing false advertisement and this is not okay

  • @Leonardo1ita said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2462937#Comment_2462937

Definitely it's bullshit the fact that you can bodyblock 1 box just like that, and even stay crouched so the chase doesn't even start...

If you think about it there are many many BS things

And body blocking à box for 2minutes and 30 seconds is the same result (actually worse) as camping à hook you know?

In that case if you see piggy do that ans you cant take off the hat, rush the gens, youll be the only one to die

Remember also the countdown only starts when à gen has been done

  • @Midori_21 said:

The only way to actually balance dbd would require making drastic changes to the core gameplay mechanics, changing how each side completes their objective, and that's not the direction the devs are taking the game.

I would say, start by changing certain loops and maps so that the survivor cant chain unmindgamable loops one after the other as they can smash the gens

Or give killer à real power to slow down the game for survivors

Many people already gave great ideas, yet the devs dont use th PTB for what à PTBs purpose is...trying out new stuff without having to change the real game for people to give feedbacks

  • @Pikachaouuu said:

The new objective idea sounds good on paper and i think it could help, but in my opinion 2 bad things could happen.

    1) no one will want to play thoose games (when i used to play black ops II you can spent like 15 minutes looking for something that wasn't a deathmatch game) and the time for a match will be horrible.

    2) sweaties will go there and ruin everyone else experience and force everyone back to the regular mode.

Yeah there need to be à lot of work done for à New game mode

But thats what people are asking for

We took 4 years to optimize the time and way to play in the regular games, i think it could take à bit before the sweaties actually do something thag strong

Yet i agree, the community would cry for à New game mode, we could give them one, everyone would play it for 2 weeks then back on normal games

  • A mix between this and the last answer

Yes i habe some fun matches

But overall...nah DBD isnt in a funny state right now

Survivors rush through their objectives and out of the game, leaving short and stressfull games to casual killers

Killers Camp/tunnel/slug like never before (i like to think that its cause they cant keep up with the surv meta)

Leaving just stressfull and unfun short games all along

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2466258#Comment_2466258

That's the problem with these killers really.

As fun as Trickster is to play, like Clown, you can't do much with the overall map pressure.

Chase oriented Killers needs to be REALLY good and REALLY oppressive to be able to keep up with other Killers who thrive in the high ranks.

It's why Huntress and Deathslinger are seen as oppressive or "annoying", but Trickster even after his buff is still seen as a joke.

He just isn't good enough to justify playing if you play to win.

Can you win with these killers? Yes. Definitely. Hell, I'm watching Otzdarva's 50 Wins Streak series right now. But he made it very clear that with the emergence of MMR, that it would be difficult, if not impossible, to do another 50 wins in a row series with the current ruleset for other killers because they can't keep up with how fast this game can go.

Do I advocate for slowing down gen progress? Absolutely ######### not. I play Survivor too, I wouldn't want to make the game for Survivor especially Solo Queue harder than it is right now.

I do think though that a Killer shouldn't put in 4x the amount of effort as Survivors putting in 1/4th the amount of effort.

It should realistically be the other way around with how asymm games work. And I'm not talking about making it easier for the Killer. I'm talking about making the objective more reasonable to defend (Removing gen tapping to stop a generator from regressing for example) on the Killer side, and make the Survivor side be encouraged to do additional objectives to progress towards their main objective.

But is BHVR going to listen to this? Are they going to consider it?

No, of course they ######### won't. Because they're addicted to stats and data. Stats and data that doesn't tell them ######### about the state of the game.

And as a result, the killers not being changed accordingly, the maps not getting the right reworks to be fair for everyone, the game not changing as a whole for 5 years, is slowly crushing my soul, for the sweatyness keeps on rising and this isnt à playstyle i am seeking

Not even one year ago i had fair matches that where hard but not sweaty, where i still could hook different survivors and sometimes win, sometimes loose, yet had à lot of fun in

  • @DelsKibara said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2466221#Comment_2466221

    I agree that it doesn't.

But that is how BHVR operates. They make decisions based on stats, not player feedback or experiences.

They can argue against me on this of course, I'm sure a CM has. But you can't deny that BHVR doesn't work on ballancing the game using actual real game experience and mostly relies on "kill rates" and "pick rates"

By their own standards and metrics, Nurse needs to be buffed. That's how ######### it is.

    Nurse need à buff

    Pig more nerfs

Other killees that needs huge buffs wobt get them cause of low rank kills

    Yeah its à shity system

And trickster is also à proof out of how thzy dont listen to feedback (yet another)

I can now down as quick as ever with him, yet still loose the game cause ive got no map pressure

  • @DelsKibara said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2465276#Comment_2465276

I don't know who said it, but I am reminded of how Rank 1 in DBD feels more like the Top 50% of ranks in other games with Rank 5-20 being the bottom 50% of ranks in other games.

I feel like when people ask the devs to balance over high skilled players (like I've asked in the past), I do think they don't really understand what to balance the game around. We've seen how they work. They focus more on statistics rather than actually experiencing the game for themselves.

They tried tackling DS and even with the amount of nerfs and changes it has, it's still ever present enough for the Killer to change how they play the game. Same with BT, DH, UB.

And same with Ruin and Undying. They tried making the combo less useful but people still run it over other slowdown perks because there is genuinely no other perk that is better than these two perks combined to slow the game down and give yourself time to breath as Killer.

But they keep seeing statistics about these perks without actually tackling what's wrong with them.

I also almost have to run undying because the hex totems spots are so bad they are usually gone in the furst minute

It gives me just another chance for devour hope

And stats dont actually help to have à perfect balance (aka pig having à high kill score, but that isnt actually that strong)

  • @Pikachaouuu said:

In my opinion there is not a way to exactly balance the game or to make it fresh. If they change something eventually people will find something else to exploit. If they add new game modes (like casual/non ranked matches) the sweaties will go there to be sweaty and annoy people who want to practice with a killer or get some bloodpoints (i got generushed in the ptb while playing with pinhead).

Add other objectives to the game

Add other game modes with completly différent objectives, and not à "casual/ranked" queues modes

Imagine something where survivors gotta collect some orbs/totems/relics/plants from the entity and bring it to à designed place while the killer gotta stop them

And there are so many possibilities

Since about early 2020, the killer experience has only worsened.

Same feeling, last year games where hard, but not sweaty at all ranks, but since it became always worse in many part of the game, but mostly chase and HAVING to use regretion perks, and much mich more

  • @Objectively_speaking said:

Try endgame wraith and set simple goals, also based on what your saying you need to reevaluate what it is you enjoy or want out of DBD and most importantly take a break from the game because if your constantly fatigued from playing DBD you might want to take a break for your health.

Also, I do agree that this game is weirdly in a great balanced state and that when facing optimized people it can make you just not want to play but a good way to beat this is by setting simple win conditions for yourself.

    Yeah thanks,

Even à fiew monthes ago i could still play the game all day long many days in a row, but lately i can barely play it every 2-3 days for that reason

The game was at its best 1 year ago tbh

  • @Trickstaaaaa said:

Yep being in high ranks aka red rank Is trash. Because in this game you can be in red ranks and not be that good and get placed vs sweat lords. I mean that is great for those try hards, but not everyone wants to play sweaty non stop. Overall while yeah the game is easy as ever for killer, just being forced to play sweaty is not fun. And that does not mean looking to get 4 sacrifices per match to have fun, it's the sweatiness that does not feel fun to being forced to play in that way.

I feel like i have to sweat more lately just to have à 2K or 6-8 hooks and this doesnt feel good

I dont care about a 4K, i care about fun and this is not fun

  • @Crowman said:

MMR won't immediately make things better, but it should provide the devs with better data for higher skill play and help them make balance changes in the future that address high rank play. Right now we have red ranks which has such a huge skill gap between red rank players that it's basically impossible to get any real useful data from it.

    Ill be honest

MMR wont help at all in my thoughts

Cause it will separate strong killer/survivor players in such à manner that in high ranks youll see mostly 3-5 killers

You cant buff/nerf things while looking at high ranks, imagine nerfing one of those killers, means that high ranks become more impossible to win (or harder)

Buff one and the mid tier will see the rise of à New possible powerhouse

You cant change loops that easily

And it would all take time and cost "money" and till now BHVR doesnt look like they wanna do that (Trapper for instance could use one very easy buff for manybyears now)

Nor can you use data for everything (Pig is seen with à high kill count, yet isnt such à powerfull killer as she is)

Beside add many other problems that will come with MMR, that i already fekt during the tests

    Yeha im pessimistic about that

  • You can counter most of the perk

You can permanently erase 2 perks of the game

Still better then thebold survivor small PP (which was the real micro PP)

Dont Blame Killers for using this build, blame the fact that they almost HAVE to as their pther perks are mostly bad/unusable and as the survivor meta is about doing the gens asap (which you can also blame the fact that there are no other objective and the game is pushed to its limit of optimisation by good survivors)

  • Still got a chance to take it off,

Still can escape through the hatch

    Its à gameplay thing

    So nah

I found Otz's video about that. I just forgot it existed. The Tech may be old, but some techs like the unhook tech that existed not so long ago, were patched for a reason. I also found a video about Legion being able to insta down people from a year ago, that uses the same glitch. You can't tell me that this is intended.

If I remember correctly, there were some dumb double fatigue issues on the PTB back then (pallet stun+fatigue etc). So maybe they glitched it by fixing this.

Well doing instadowns with this should obviously be à big nono

But having such à tech thag allows Legion one play over à pallet with his power is cool

Otherwise its almost useless to vault à pallet against an injured survivor to be franck (haha)

  • Free infos?

Like when they run toward nothing?

When youre able to outrun or outmsart them and Lure the killer somewhere else?

Like whzn they still try to follow you but youre on the other side of the map

Like when they are sruck in a tree or à rock?

  • Its been years that consoles have been.on such à state

But people keep on buying stuff as the devs dont even freaking care about it and how they dont work

I started playing 3 years ago and and I have never seen this once in my 4k hrs before.

I am not sure that this is intended though. There is a reason why Legion has a cooldown after using Frenzy. It exists that something like this does not happen, because it would be kinda OP. And being blind does nothing, because you can always hear where people are going. Even if they have Iron Will.

And only because it's rare it doesn't mean it's skillful. And it would explain why 99.9% have never seen this in 1000s of hrs.

Well already like à fiew monthes after legion was out we could see the tech be done, like Otz had shown it in a vid that someone found the legion tech

Yet it IS skillfull, because if you fail your timing you loose your frenzy and you are on the wrong side of the pallet, beside it requires a survivor with à flashy to work

Its à good punisher for cocky survivors and to countee it you just gotta...not flash light blind him while hes in frenzy

  • Just like Tatariu said, its à tech that is quite hard to get actually

And i hope it never gets nerfed cause you dont see many do it and its easy to.counter and to miss
