I take offense to calling Chatterer bad.
It's simply an overshadowed Alternate Playstyle addon. Think of it like Vanity /ScratchMirror or something.
Now that the good stuff is nerfed you might see it more.
To be honest
12 sec of undetectable for loosing all the chain hunt building isnt that strong
Its situationnaly good like infinite T1 Myers but it wasnt that strong (and i played it)

Just à nerf to 3 of his most used/best add ons
And à buff to 2 of his worst ones

Perks shouldn’t be used to fix core game mechanics
Thank you

They put in the perk "Overcharge" specifically to help counter the 'tap a gen' strategy. Except, if a survivor taps the gen and releases immediately, it cancels the hard check instead of counting it as an auto failure (and thus regressing 5%).
If they would just FIX this perk to work as intended, you'd have a response to the tapping issue.
Your way of thoughts is just like the devs...
Needing perks to balance everything
Why?
Why not just buff the kick and nerf the tap so the kick deals like 5% of the current gen progress down and the tapping needs à 2 sec work or à double easy skillcheck to restart the gens
Dont be scared to change things
-
The only buff it needs, is to be à free perk for beginner killerd znd not one behind the paywall that is to buy Oni or wait for the shrine

In what possible scenario is getting a down with 180 better than normal?
With à little wall the survivor hugs, you can do the 180 and get past the wall and still hit
With 90 you would stop rather quickly

It's important to remember that, while this system has some flaws, the system we had before categorically did not work and was much, much worse.
But to one of your points- there is a casual mode. It's the mode that you queue up for when you start playing, because what this game doesn't have is a ranked/competitive mode. I think a lot of people are misunderstanding the MMR system and thinking it's equivalent to a ranked mode in League or Overwatch or something, instead of a more consistent and basic matchmaking tool.
The older system worked perfectly fine...
Until they opened the ranks you could match against to shorten queue times...
You got games quickly but rainbow ranks where at risks then

There's no comparison. Five totems can be removed well before the last gen pops. There is also perks and items that help survivors locate totems. Once they're gone they are gone for good.
Killers have no way of locating boon totems unless they are right next to them and hear them. Even then if they snuff them out then survivors can easily relight them.
So ask yourself sincerely which one needs the nerf.

Which is pretty unbiased.

Better buff nurse then

Oh no, i play les sand less because of...
Bad map designs
Bad updates
Unbalanced game mechanics at its core
MMR
Bugs on the smallest things
Cosmetics
NFT
The fact that they dont wanna rewrite the code to progress and get less bugs
The facg that they dont add much new stuff
-
If you wanna make it us vs them...
Remember that when à hex totem cant be cleansed the devs deactivate the map to fix it à fiew days/weeks later
For the boons tho they only deactivated the offering, you can still Play on the problematic maps
But yeah having one solution of short time makes the game now killer qided i guess lol

Please avoid using high MMR when none knows his exact MMR. Based on forum topics almost everyone thinks he is godlike player.
Low MMR player dont AFK cause they can have fun
High MMR player does it way more often because the gameplay there aint fun at all

And I say so the ######### what?
You just equated killing a person to a digital scam.
You all don't seem to understand that they had to promote it or face a lawsuit in addition to losing the license. It was the price for Hellraiser. A franchise this community begged for. Anyone begging for license content is complicit in this.
As far as I'm concern, the community has no leg to stand on here. If BHVR brings NFTs to DBD then we have a valid concern. But that is not the case and doesn't seem to be the case going forward.
Yed i did, because it works well to get people to understand that they are partners in crime, a point shown by an emotional shock, you can replace the word kill by scam/hurt/bully/ anything else, it will always stay relevant
Yes it may be due to licence requirements, but it still makes BHVR à promoter toward NFT, and if they sold well you can bet they would support it, beside they could always have turned down the contract /if they actually where against it/
I understand why they didnt, but it was à bad move non the less
The fact that they dont out it direcly in the game is the last reason im still playong the game tbh, if they did it would be ciao bello
(But they cant dream of it, thanks steam)

Because I like to swap out killers. I rarely play the same killer more than twice in a row and I can only play with Leatherface and Oni so many times before I'll get bored of it.
I shouldn't have to by default dump 3/4s the killer roster in this game because BHVR finds new and unique ways to stack the deck against the killers.
I got this frustrated with the game with the pallet drop validation BS but was able to get over it since I could at least predict when that was going to happen and just kind of roll with the punches. I'm not sure that's going to happen with the DH version though as I can't predict that and I can't do anything about it. DH was frustrating enough in the right hands and this has just increased that by tenfold. Just...not fun and is fast becoming not worth the pure frustration and anger it is causing...
I also shouldnt have to tale 2-3 perk slots just to have à chance to catch up with the current way the game is played
-
@Mr_K said:

They promoted it because it was part of the contract. That is normal in business deals even if you disagree with it.
They already said they don't sell NFTs and DBD won't have them.
"I didnt kill that guy, i just asked this person to do it" is basically the same.
Youre still guilty in the end.
And so BHVR "promoting it cause its in the contract" still makes them guilty of supporting NFT in the end, even if it isnt directly in the game
-

BT, don't tunnel and it has zero effect.
DH, fair enough of a complaint.
Unbreakable, one time use only matters if you try to greed.
Deliverance, earned with a decent chance of never triggering.
DS, already hard nerfed and only matters if you tunnel.
Adrenaline, again it was earned. They finished their objective.
Swf with comms, also a fair complaint.
So we actually only have one second chance perk.
As for Noed, you did nothing to earn the speed boost/insta down. In other words it feels cheap. Basically it's the killer DH. Personally I'd rework Noed, but it's still a fair perk. At least in my opinion.
BT: covers you in case you unhooked in front of the killer (second chance on bad unhook management, prevents à quick tunneling )
DH is DH
Unbreakable allows you to recover from the dying state at anypoint, if the killer wantz to slug many surv one is all thzts needed to recover the whole tieam (second chance over slugging, prevents à mass slug, strong with DS)
Deliverance i dont consider à second chance, but a strong perk when well used, and à fine one
Adrenaline... basically allows all survivor on the last 1-2 gens to never heal, when finishing the last gen they all (with the perk) receive à heal+speed boost even if exhausted, it almost completly kills the end game for killer and the pressure they got, yet technically it aint à second chance
DS is and will always be à second chance perk, yes its good for when youre getting tunneled, but its easy to abuse and we have seen so many instances where DS still kicked in even when not being tunneled, terrifying when combined with UB, yet way more fair since its balance update
To an extend, if we reaaaaaally go deep and are willing tonconsider them as so (i dont)
Camaraderie would be second chance for being camped
Spine Chill for not being carefull at your suroundings
Iron will/lucky break goves you à New chance to hide/escape the killer
SWF aint second chance but it boosts these perks
In the end, most of the survivor perks are used to deny aspects of gameolay for the killer, limiting their possibilities
Its the way the devs chose to balance the game and the reason these perks are often seen

It's not really the existence of MMR that's the problem but how it's implemented. From the developers explanation, if you want to increase your MMR your best bet is to be as passive as possible since dying first loses you a lot more MMR than dying last. If your teammates aren't good you will not be escaping that match anyways so you will minimize your loss, and if your teammates are good then there should be no problems.
If you want to be active with the killer and have a lot of chases and hook rescues for your team then you will probably not go up in MMR, sadly that's how it works.
What my problem is, is rather that it encourage those passive and selfish gameplay, letting people die on the hook or on the ground, going out asap just to secure your rank up
What my problem is, is that it also encourages those "toxic behaviours" many complain, even by killer as killing is the only thing that matters, why not amways play Myers Tombstone or mass slug / tunnel / camp you know?
Its bad in all the ways and the match ups arent really better from the pipping system (for me at least)
-
SBMM has always been wrong and regards selfish plays, bad behaviour and not skill
Oh youre just talking about the grades... yikes
-
@Yatol said:
your reward for playing well is pips

You dont expect survivors to show empathy to à killer when they see hes clearly missmatched skillwise
Its mostly cause its à surv perk anyway but still
And so many killers return that favir when the survivor DCs you know?
-
I mean it id EASYER for killer to grief the event gens
But so can survivors, by running in a corner, bodyblocking the Hook and making it hard for the killer to hook you know?
Its just two sepparate styles
-
So its time for me to step in an say something important:
The devs made à copy paste of their anniversary event, saying they would focus over the Halloween one and make it the big event focus of DBD
But this Halloween event, even if it looks Nice (ngl) just doesnt give me the vibe of an event where the devs puts their attention in
They once had plants you had to collect seed on to earn stuff for that event, it wasnt well done but sounds better then...smashing à pumpkin
Im à bit disapointed in the lack of creativity and the feeling, the maps arent even reskinned to be scary/Halloween themed
-
Streamers like Otz know à hella lot of the game and ill always take tips n tricks from them
But when they have à thought on something ill not just blindly follow , ill think myself about it and my personnal experience
And everyone should do that instead of doing stuff like "Otz couldnt beat this one survivor, it proves he is over powered and blablabla"

anything that makes the game more complex would just get the crybabies to go hogwild.
Like, you could OF COURSE have it that you'd automatically have something with slinger that would bar survivors from repairing gens for a bit. Slinger's an engineer fcl, just have it you have to find parts for the gens first before you can repair one.
Thats something i really would love to see
Find à gen part in some part of the map (even bettee if you gotta.cross the map and interact with the killer) and then after fixing it you can start to repair the gen
-
Ill be honest, i play killer à lot, but Spirit needed à balance for à LONG time and deathslinger some tweaks (even tho i dont like the way they tweaked him)
But they should buff weaker killers and add some objectives for survivors to slow down the game à bit without needing slowdown perks
-

They didn't bother fixing the issue with All Seeing Blood, they just decreased its range which is dumb. It's still going to be a powerful add-on.
The removal of 0.25 seconds from the uncloak speed boost after uncloaking isn't going to do much, but it's still hilarious on how they nerfed Wraith. "It made him a wee bit over powered"
Wraith was fine, just certain addons where kinda busted with his new speed but yeah

Survivors will do anything they can to speed through a game and get out asap with as fiew hooks as possible, even if the game lasted 5 mins or less
But once the killer stops participating in this scenario, now they are the bad guys for doing this, especially with an MMR making the game more unfun then ever 🤔

Yup. I had a streak of good games with actual decent teammates. They did gens, they made saves even in the EGC. It was amazing. I sacrificed myself once to get a Tome challenge done and have done pretty much nothing but die since. One death tanked it all and it gets worse with each match.
I made stats that im wanting to post here
After around 20 games my games became hell from the teammates and the killer
And the fun died along
-
@TragicSolitude said:
"No" isn't a strong enough word.
I get teammates who do nothing. Tons of teammates who crouch around the map afraid to touch gens. If they make a save, they don't have BT and they don't take aggro. It's awful, an absolutely miserable experience.
Ever seen a person make it to 5 gens done and the exit gates open with only 163 BP? I have. I kinda wish we'd all died instead of giving them 7k+ BP for an escape they didn't even help with.
Worse is, if you die you loose and the MMR puts you with people that are lower then what you just had in theory
-
I still have the same type of teammates who hide in corners, selfcare after a safe rescue or prefer to let you die on hook to escape themselves, opens the door and storms out of the game etc...
So no, not at all
-

@tester said:
Sooooo many threads NERF that, BUFF that. Look, it's very simple: don't sweat and you will get opponents who don't sweat.
Also in a system where MMR works, the "dont sweat and they wont" will never work, people want to climb the ranks, people still play to win
And sooner or later you come across that point of "loose=survivors that are too bad for you, win=stronger sweatier survivors"
And i dont see myself loosing à lot just to bully people because im on higher level, really
But its good that the MMR doesnt work that well c:

@GrimoireWeiss said:
Agree 100%. The amount of people here that complain about the other side running meta when they themselves run it is astonishing.
Well its easy
The game is balanced in such à way that for low/medium ranks its fine
But for higher ranks its not, as efficient survivors will destroy killers,
Killers almost HAVE to play with meta perks lile ruin/undying or pop beczuse the base gen kick is slow and useless (2 sec animation to lose 0.25 charge/sec all stopped in one millisec of à gen tip from à survivor mid chase), hexes still have really bad spawns and can be destroyed within the 20 first seconds, and most of the other perks are nische/bad or good to use, but you need the gen regressing perks first
Killer waste à lot of time for everything and the meta perks are one of their fiew chances to really catch up higher ranks if you dont play flawlessly
And survivors pmayed their meta second chance build since what? 4 years? Because having tons of second chances are time wasting for the killer, saving for the team leading to easyer games, there aldo still are way too many perks that are bad/nische but its the same, you need one exhaustion perk and the rest is almost free.
Many survivor feel like if they dont tae DS they get tunneled, if they dont take UB thzy get slugged etc
Yet why change à build giving you changes when you reach higher ranks, where you destroy the killers while havin good mates tbh? Maybe one or two perks are changed to save time on heals or gens but thats it.
As soon as one sude starts playing meta, the other will join, MMR means competition and thus meta perks
Beside in EVERY game people will play meta perks/chars/weapons etc (LoL for champions, WoW for classes, OW for heroes, Apex for weapons, etc)
Youll never be able to stop people from abusing what is strong in the game, just lile some abuse tunnel/camp/gen rush/loops/bugs/the mechanics
-
A fiew Legion builds i enjoyed:
Ruin/retribution/undying or devour hope/agitation or thana
The slow down legion: dying light/thana/remember me/mind breaker or pop
Devour hope/undying/brutal strength/spirit furry
Surge/pop/mind breaker/devour hope
All in all i love to use devour hope/undying on legion, mind braker is fun too, pop and surge are good, thana forces them to heal or take the slowdown, ruin helps you to see if they just left the gen and its at least 10 secs theyll lose while mending (which is like 20 secs pf work or something)
-
@lauraa said:
Eh, I think it's fine? Maybe not the best, but they could have done a whole lot worse?
Like, okay, you can't like, pick up a trap or nothin. But you can still reset your traps lol. This add on gives you every trap available, but it asks that you be confident with your trap placements.
There's the obvious Basement Trapper which I think this would be good for. But I'm sure some crazy masochistic Trapper player will find a use for it. Like, maybe pair it with that Resetting addon and immediately play for a 3 gen or something?
Against good survivors theyll call out the traps, disarm them, then you need to take time to rearm them, and if its on the other side of the map its bad, if the trap shuts down à loop with à pallet down itll be bad
A called out trap will get survivor to play around it, and trapper relies around reseting his traps in a quick and effective way to shut down new loops or parts of à map

I could buy that argument if MMR wasn't a thing. In high MMR they might aswell put neon lights on her location.
This is another story, à killer should be able to compete on high levels because his power is à no brainer forcing à guess
If there are no killers able to compete on the high MMR, then BHVR will lose its players and it will be their fault, but spirit has been needing à real balance for à LONG LONG time now
Beside maybe the particles wont even be that big lol
