Where can I read about the announcement/news of keys and mori being reworked?
No, I am not against insta-down abilities like mayers and ghostface, I am against insta-down add-ons. Noed and haunted grounds is fine by me too. Exposed is not op, I never argued against it, you need to read my text more careful.
Ah sorry. Just woke up, didn't mean to come off as aggressive. Just see this kind of thread all the time, ya know?
As for the announcements, they were made in the Dev streams, so nothing to read. We don't know when or how they'll be reworked, we just know they are. I can't remember the exact streams, but I know they mentioned Myers in the most recent Q&A stream. It'll probably take them awhile, since they're focusing on new chapters and map updates.
-
For the last time. Keys and Mori's are currently being reworked, and both Myers and Huntress are confirmed to get a add-on pass eventually, probably after Clown.
As for "insta-downs" M1's, they'll never be removed from the game. Only a few killers have it base kit, Myers and Ghostface, and they have nothing in chase or map-pressure. Perks that give this are usually things that you have to work for, Devour and MYC, or last only a bit, like Haunted Grounds. Exposed is by no means OP. The only perk that doesn't follow this is NOED, but that's ah endgame perk, useless until all the gens are finished.

That would be pretty awesome, Netflix seems flexible with the skins they allow to be made for demogorgon. I wouldn't be too surprised to see this one being allowed.
It's not just Netflix, it's also Wizards of the Coast, and I have no clue how flexible they are to their licenses.

This one goes out to the rank 1 Nurse who just played Infectious Fright, Undying, Retribution and Ruin. To the Nurse who had Ruin up the entire trial. To the Nurse who had one survivor killed, one downed, one injured and in chase. To the Nurse who had everyone on their death hook. To the Nurse who disconnected just as the 5th gen was about to complete... oof.
Decisive Strike: 1 (Idk if it was used)
Borrowed Time: 1 (never came into play)
Unbreakable: 0
Dead Hard: 0
Soul Guard: 0
Object of Obsession: 0
One more kill was an absolute certainty. A 3rd? Very possible. Unfortunately anything less than a 4k simply will not do. :(
That's an oof from me dawg

I still think Ruin should be base kit, at a reduced level, of course. That's just my opinion, though.
But I do agree with your premise. Buff the regression basic kicks do, as it's a waste of time right now. Remove gen tapping as well.
I think Ruin (and all Hex perks) should just do something after they're cleansed, having a passive effect that's much weaker then it's 'active' effect. When not lit, Ruin should still regress gens automatically, just at 75%-%100 the rate. Other examples would be maybe with Devour you keep the movement speed buff after unhooking, maybe with The Third Seal it provides 30 second blindness as a passive effect. Obviously, not every Hex perks could fall within this, but they should do something

It was so easy to kill Jason that it became such a sad joke of a game. :(
Forgive me if I'm wrong, I don't know F13 that well, but... Isn't Jason supposed to be like unkillable?

@Zarr0ch said:
It's fine how it is. Dont tunnel, it's timer runs out. No issue.
It really isnt that difficult
The problem isn't "not tunneling", the problem is people can do things in the killers face because of how long the timer is. Slugging isn't a viable option, since Unbreakable just means they get up anyways, or they get picked up.

i agree but people can still do the locker tech and force you to get stunned I like the idea of pausing the timer but why not just make it unlimited duration just to save up slots?
If it were unlimited, it'd probably be broken. The idea I had effectively makes it unlimited, but only if your being chased. Making it unlimited in general, even with the parameters set, would just lead to people not doing anything so they can get a stun in on the killer.
The locker-tech would still be there, but only if you were really tunneling. If you don't wanna eat the stun, just walk away for 30 seconds, go after someone else.
-
Understandable, have a great day.

There just is nothing else for Survivors to do.. Work on gens, open gate leave. I wish there was "something" else to let players do
At least F13 had multiple ways to escape (and a broken easy way to kill jason/sigh)
Some kind of secondary objective in this game (aside from bones) would be amazing, but then there would be even more people who don't to gens.
I never actually played F13, didn't know you could kill Jason. Yeowch.

I have come up with a idea of how to fix DS without making it bad and making it fair for both sides here’s how I would change it.
After being unhooked or unhooking yourself, Decisive strike will become activated. While Decisive strike is active, when grabbed by the killer, succeed a skill check to automatically escape the killers grasp and stun the killer for 3/4/5 seconds.
. Succeeding the skillcheck will disable Decisive strike.
. Stunning the killer with this perk will make you the obsession.
. Decisive strike deactivates when the killer hooks another survivor.
so that’s my change I got rid of all it’s problems and made it so much better it doesn’t have a time limit anymore and the killer can deactivate the perk by not tunneling. Thoughts?
The issue with that is the killer can still tunnel, somewhat. If you get farmed off-hook, and the killer manages to down someone else (Maybe like Bubba for example), they can just hook that other person than hook you immediately.
I always thought DS should work like this.
DS now has a timer of 30 seconds. If you are being chased, or are downed within that 30 seconds the timer pauses. If you are picked up during this time, hitting a skillcheck with stun the killer for four seconds. This perk immediately deactivates when you are fully healed, if you start repairing a generator, heal another survivor, or cleanse a totem.
This way, it's an actual anti-tunnel perk.

Did you know that in groaning store house, if you don't break the wall above, it's an infinite? And if you break it did you know that not breaking the other breakable wall is also an infinite? Tested it yesterday against a good random looper with wraith.
And yeah, I'm ok with everything, I just hate the janky animations, he just doesn't feel like how he used to which makes me the saddest.
I used to love all the MacMillan maps (aside from Shelter Woods) but now I just kinda sigh, knowing the "ToTaLlY bAlAnCeD" breakable walls have made literal infinites. And I'm pretty sure they made the maps way more sparse to have these breakable walls.
If I could have them revert one thing, just one thing I'd have them revert to Billy's old basekit. Gone, but not forgotten.
-
@OldHunterLight said:

Yeah, they won't revert stuff like that, we can only get used to when to break a wall and when not to.
And I got sad when I remembered that it is true and they won't revert Billy :(
I just wish deciding not to kick a breakable wall didn't screw the killer over so bad. Killer's times are already valuable.
I miss old Billy so much. Keep the add-ons, even keep the stupid roar and overheating mechanic. Just make his movement feel good again :( He feels so terrible to play now.
-
@OldHunterLight said:
Yeah, every killer main agrees with this except boosted killers, gen time is fine, the problem is that maps were big, they got reduced so it got better in some maps, my issue is that currently with every reworked map we are going to get breakable walls which only make us waste time.
But I agree, kicking a gen should be slightly better or at least make survivors stay like 3 seconds to stop regressing, just an idea.
I hate breakable walls with a passion. I'm hoping BHVR will come to their senses and realize they're a bad thing for the game, but then again I don't see them reverting Billy's old movement, so...
-
Well, you started this off with 'change my mind' so something tells me you don't actually want a discussion...
But think of it like this. No Mither doesn't do a single, goddamn thing for you, other than severely limit your chase. It cuts your time in half, say you run a killer for a minute, losing a health state every 30 seconds. With no mither, that chase goes down by half because your losing a health state.
Self-care might not be an amazing perk, but I'd rather have it then no mither.

The first match I played this Bloodhunt was a... Mori-ing, slugging killer.

I think having to fix something would be a great idea. But also take into account a team vs a group of solo players.
Well, the issue is it's always going to be hard to balance for teams vs solo queue. Really, regression is probably never going to be worth it in the face of a team, but eh. What can you do.
-
Well, I don't use NOED anyways...
What do I win?
And what comes next?

Eh, I don't think taking scratchmarks away from any killer is a good idea. Sounds tend to break in this game, so sometimes scratchmarks are the only 'constant' way of tracking people. Out of all the killers that people really hate, I think Doc is probably the least powerful (aside from his shock taking away the ability to Dead Hard, that's BS). I hate Freddy way more, but even then I wouldn't wanna take away scratchmarks from him. I think Doc needs some kind of look at, but scratchmarks aren't the answer. That's just my opinion though.
-
The big things I've noticed at his power being buggy as #########, which yeah - he is - a lot of tunneling and camping Ghostface's. That, and the dreaded t-bag. These are all pretty valid reasons, we all have killers we tie to tunneling and camping (Hag and goddamn Freddy). Personally, the only time I ever T-Bag is if I'm memeing and I just T-Bag the entire game, not just to survivors, or if someone DC's the second I down them.
-
@GoodBoyKaru said:
I have some reasons, one of which is probably exclsuive only to me.
- His reveal mechanic is buggy as #########, and even when he's CLEARLY in the centre of my screen without my character model in the way I can't reveal him but when he's on the very edge I can? It doesn't work.
- Most of the ghostface's I've met are absolute #########. They can and will sit there tbagging your corpse if you so much as dare to even think about doing a generator, saving a teammate, throwing a pallet, or cleansing a totem. Then they'll hook you and continue to tbag, or will activate stealth just before you get saved to stop a BT proc, and then tunnel you relentlessly, tbagging you afterwards. It's the antithesis of fun, like, what did I do to you? I'm sorry for existing on this planet.
- He's a smaller character, with a small weapon, which means he suffers from Freddy Syndrome, and even though I know his lunge is the same length as everyone else it doesn't stop the hits looking any less bullshit.
- The final game I ever got to play of DBD ever with my now dead ex-bf was vs a camping, tunneling, tbagging Ghostface on coal tower, who hated me and Cheers because we were in a swf (fairly obvious we were since he was called "CheersTC" and I was "CheersTC's Boyfriend and Bodyguard"). Trying not to break down is hard enough right now, but then you add in the same killer who'd sit there and tbag and camp and tunnel us both and this one, single, specific killer will, honestly and genuinely, cause me to have a ######### mental breakdown and I will sit there sobbing.
That's why I hate this ######### stupid, awful, god-forsaken ######### of a killer.
Wow, I am so sorry. That sucks.
-
@Equus said:
I don't hate him but I do find it extremely annoying that you can't break his stealth when he's behind a ridiculous small object. I know you have to keep him in the middle of the camera and your characters eyes need to be on him but he still manages to hide behind a freaking corn stalk.
I do agree with most of your post, but the Survivor doesn't need to face him at all - just the camera. Other than that, yeah - revealing sucks for both sides. There have been times I've been looking directly at a GF and he never gets revealed, and playing as Ghostface where I'll get revealed and nobodies nearby. It needs some fine tuning.

Ouch. That is certainly unlucky, but again - DC Penalties are needed for this game. Do I wish the bugs and crashes were sorted out before? Yes, yes I do - but DC's, intentional or not, ruin the game for the other players, and the game has no way of knowing whether you DC'ed on purpose or not.
Everything aside, I hope you figure it out.

That would make that absolutely useless.
I hope they will change them so that they are more focused on their aura reading abilities
Didn't say it was a good change, if that is what's happening. I just thought it was a little weird they would change the chest animation to include a key, when key's already do things in the game. I'm probably looking too far into it, but that's just my take on it. I do agree that if all they did was unlock a chest, then yeah - they'd be useless.

I think they'd have to do more than just open chests.

If the Broken Key works like that... but allows for instant unlocks... I wouldn't mind

Those were my thoughts. I'm wondering, if this is the change, an Ultra Rare add-on would allow you to unlock the hatch. Hopefully only for yourself.

So, I used my first Mori today, and I’m not really sure how I feel about it as a killer perk.
I used it within the first five minutes of play, mainly because I wanted to see what it was like. I did feel a little guilty killing the survivor so quickly.
It also seemed to spoil the game. The start was very busy. After I used the Mori I struggled to find the survivors. They seemed to be avoiding my like the plague, obviously, with good reason.
I also noticed I didn’t seem to get many blood points, probably because I only hooked a survivor once instead of three times.
Other than making the game a lot easier, I don’t really see the appeal, obviously it’s a free kill, but with less points, and with survivors that spend the rest of the game in the shadows. I guess it could be useful once the doors are open, but other than that it seems a little easy.
Does anyone use these? Are they are a common thing? I’ve never seen a killer use one.
Mori's are fairly common, but they're being changed - along with keys. Most players view them as unfair ways to win. We're not sure when or how they're being changed, but they are.

Why can't they just announce Crossprogression for Xbox and Ps? Are they waiting for new gens? I won't stay on switch and can't afford a high end pc, I just want to be able to play on my xbox with my DLC!
It's not up to BHVR, it's up to Sony and Microsoft. They control what happens with their consoles, and BHVR just has to wait. Microsoft is probably A-Okay with it, according to the past, but Sony doesn't like sharing.
-
At this point, I've seen "won" as "Hey, I got some bloodpoints!" I try not to let this game irritate me, because at the end of the day, it's just a game.
-
Wow, I really thought it was a bug.
Well it *seems* alright, but I can't say much else on it - I haven't gone up against a spirit recently, and I don't play her much.
If anything, I just wish they would've announced it - I'm not a huge fan of shadownerfs. Still, (maybe?) good change.

Well, that just kinda seems like issues with tunneling and not Pig's powers. I really don't think Pig is that great. But to each their own, I'm not gonna say you're wrong. Opinions and all that. According to the S T A T S, you're right!
Also, damn I wish I got you as a survivor. In any game I play as Pig they always get it off first try.

You just need to play around it. If you suspect a survivor has spine chill try approaching at an angle not looking directly at them. That way their spine chill doesn't go off. I've noticed a lot of survivors that run spine chill don't look around when on a gen.
I've tried to do that, but I guess I just suck at it. Again, it's not something I feel really needs to be nerfed, I just dislike how much it can destroy stealth killers. I'll practice my casual moonwalking, those surv's are about to get spooped by a backwards bing bong boi.
-
The DC penalty is a necessary evil, unless people would be quitting left and right - like they always do when there is no penalty. It only gets bigger and bigger like that when you DC repeatedly, and crashing gets the same penalty because it still ruins the game, even if you didn't do it on purpose. Do I wish they'd fix all the bugs before adding this? Yes, but it should be a thing. Besides, it's rare I run into any gamebreaking bugs.
-
It definitely seems decent, but as you mentioned yourself - no gen defense or regression. If you apply enough pressure, which you can certainly do, then yeah - I can see it working.
-
As far as I understand, yeah. Tier 1 is a permanent effect, since it doesn't really do anything except for show you hallucinations.
-
If you go to the PS4 specific patch notes, it lists at the very bottom - "Tentatively fixed an issue causing framerate drops intermittently" So, kinda. It seems like a tough issue to fix, for some reason. I haven't played yet, so I'm not sure how good this fix is.
-
Ghostface the character and mask belong to Funworld, not Scream. Scream had to pay to use the mask and the character, as far as I understand. That's why the MTV show doesn't have Ghostface, rather a different killer. I'm sure they tried to get a Scream chapter, but licensing in general is tough.
So we got the current Ghostface. He's an original killer.

-
I'm gonna be honest, I feel like this is just a bait.
But if this is serious... Killers don't need nerfed, Solo Q just needs buffed. A large, large portion of the Killer cast are terrible. There is the occasional killer that can feel completely overwhelming, Spirit and Nurse being the main two that come to mind, but again - a good SWF can destroy even a good nurse. Most killers are underpowered, it's something that most people agree on. The only time a killer is "overpowered" is in the case when four bad survivors are in solo q together. Even one good survivor can utterly destroy a bad killer, and keep a good one busy for a while. Survivor's, if they find a good enough loop, hold all the power in a chase, unless against killers like Deathslinger. But against a huge portion of the cast? Most of the time, you should take all stats with a grain of salt, there are way too many variables to decide if they're accurate or not.
This isn't me saying survivors need to be nerfed - they don't. Solo queue just needs to have more information given to them.

@indieeden7 said:
One of the biggest gripes that I have with undying is its aura reading feature. That alone makes it hard enough to actually get a hex out of the game combined with the fact that the hex will then just get moved to another totem is just pretty annoying. If the aura reading was removed I feel like fewer people would mind the perk.
But then that would bear the question: What should change with each perk tier?
Since they've confirmed they're looking at chapter balancing with each Midchapter Patch, the Executioner was this time, I feel like we'll probably get changes to Blight, and his and Felix's perks the next midchapter. Personally, I thing Undying is fine - but I understand why people hate it.
Since it's going to get nerfed, I think it's inevitable, I think they'll remove the aura reading and instead limit how many times it can change a totem. Tier 1 - 1 time. Tier 2 - 2 times. Tier 3 - 3 times.
