Prediction:
The rework happens, and he becomes so OP people ######### and moan about it until he gets legion status, and then even the veterans who made him viable pre change wont want to touch him.
It's a shame that so many people refused to learn him and cried rework. I've seen NASTY Freddys.
I hope I'm 100% wrong.
@Carpemortum I don't think that will happen. And the current Freddy is so weak, he is helpless against aggressive survivors. He really needs his rework. Let's hope for the best. :)

You realize that you are taking time from the devs which they would need to spend on those reports that they have to manually check (exploits etc.)?
-
Thanks devs for sharing information on these important issues! Now I am hyped about the End Game Collapse. 😊
-
I would have liked the answer option "dc punishments" as well.
-
@Peanits Thanks for the clarification!
-
@Orion The devs said so some time ago.
It becomes obvious when a new map gets released: The chances to play on the new map are immensely increased. When the Plague DLC got released, 50% of my matches were on the Temple map.
Concerning the Rotten Fields part: That's just my estimation from my matches and the streams I watched, therefore I wrote "probably".
-
There is kind of a "map of the day" in the algorithm. That means that you have a higher chance to get a specific map. Yesterday, it was probably Rotten Fields day.
-
With all the maps that have been released, I like the old ones best. I'd like to see more maps added to the MacMillan, Autohaven and Coldwind Farm realms.
An amusement park sounds fun, however. ☺️
-
Coal Tower is for sure the most balanced map. In general, the MacMillan maps are well designed.
On Coal Tower, you can do well with every killer, which is a rare thing. It's also fair for survivors.
-
Yes, it's a known bug. It also happens when you play killer (but my game crashes instead of showing an infinite loading screen).
-
Léry's and The Game are my least favourite maps as a survivor. I'd prefer to not see any more indoor maps. :/
-
There simply aren't a lot of red rank survivors. The pipping requirement got lessened just by 1 point, and that only 2 days ago. Only a few more players will now pip, and that not at a fast pace.
Tomorrow is rank reset. It will be interesting to see how fast and how many survivors will climb up the ranks after that.
-
If the match doesn't go well for you, then you depip. I mean, that's what depips are for. If you got downed before you were able to get enough points for Evader, Lightbringer or Benevolence, then that's just how it is.
The next games will be better and you can make up for the depip.
Concerning "the hooked survivor can do nothing" - the survivor can avoid getting hooked. If you get hooked, there is always the risk that you will die on it. Therefore different playstyles exist: Some survivors play invisible Claudette with certain perks to avoid getting found, others don't have trouble with getting found early, knowing that there is the risk of an early death with a low amount of points.

Audio is busted.
I get fake breathing all the time, indoor gens completely muffled by walls, fake footsteps in corn and grass, chase music blasting won't let you hear anything when being blinded, etc etc
This 100%. Chase music is also too loud in general, for both killer and survivor.
-
I like the old version so much more.
Also especially on mobile, the usability of the new version really isn't good.
-
Don't forget that it's harder to pip now, compared to a couple of weeks ago. If the survivors care about their pip, the current system encourages them to stay around and get more Evader points. I've noticed that more survivors stay now for those extra points.
-
My initial thought: This is too complicated.
Think of the new or casual players. Also remember: Before the red colour got added, most of the playerbase didn't even know that there is an efficiency penalty when several people work together at a gen. The game needs to stay understandable for those type of players.
-
If that would be introduced as a game mechanic, a huge amount of others things would have to get adjusted. It's far from being fast and easy to implement.
-
In theory, if the matchmaking works well enough, a proper ranking system would give you matches with players who are similarly skilled as you. Especially as solo surv, that's not unimportant.
-
Instant killer lobbies but long queue times as a survivor - if there aren't enough people playing killer, no matchmaking can solve that problem.
Concerning the release of new chapters: Even when players are annoyed by bugs, the new DLCs still keep people interested in playing the game. Also, the DLCs are an important source of income. Just from the financial point of view, we have no idea whether BHVR can afford to not release the next chapter in June. We simply don't know if it's important that the DLCs get released every 3 months or if it could wait; we don't know the numbers.

And this whole thread right here is exactly why survivors AREN'T OP , you could be doing great and one or two of your team mates decide it's not worth playing anymore because they tried to pick on the killer and it backfired or whatever reason and then they DC and leave the other survivors pretty much ######### with a slim to no chance of escaping almost guaranteed to be a hatch game at that point.
@OrionsFury4789 But it doesn't happen with SWF groups because these players wouldn't hurt their friends with a dc. And if you have decent solo survs, they won't dc either.
The current dc mentality is no reason why survivors wouldn't still be op.

@HuginX said:
yhea but i mean that if they run faster they can do something else slower.
That wouldn't matter. You would only see two characters in the lobby: The surv who can run faster and the surv who can repair gens faster.
-
@FSB75 The devs are introducing leaderboards. So it's clear in which direction they want to take the game. It's also the way to go when you want to really increase the number of players.

@FSB75 Think of other video games. Or even sports. There couldn't be any professional leagues if games were balanced for casual players.
Also think of this: The longer somebody plays a game, the better they get, of course. So with more and more people getting better at the game, more and more people will have unbalanced matches.
Imagine the big e-sports title were balanced for new players. That can't work.
-
Yup. That's pretty much what I'm writing here in the threads for quite some time. :) Glad to see that more people agree. ☺️
-
PS4 and no
-
It's only a start, not enough. But I'll take it as a good sign that the devs started making adjustments.
-
The balance is ok for casual players but it's super unbalanced for very good players. The better you get, the more unbalanced the matches become. A very good killer against 4 very good survivors doesn't stand a chance (except for Nurse and maybe Billy).
Any game needs to be balanced for its top players, so that applies to DbD as well.
-
Keys shouldn't let survivors open the hatch anymore. There's no counterplay for the killer; it's just a free early escape.

@NoShinyPony Ah so if you did all 5 gens and everyone else did nothing you werent screwed. That makes sense. Thats not a bad idea.
@Carpemortum Yes, exactly. Also when there's a surv who gets tunneled for 5 gens, this surv should get more than 8k points if they managed to survive that long.
-
@xChrisx But you realize that not 99% of the time killers tunnel? And that each time they don't, they get punished by MoM despite doing nothing wrong.
Off-topic: Please use the @ tag when you want to let others know that you replied to them.
-
@anarchy753 Good killers who don't tunnel are punished by the new DS as well if they down the survivors fast enough. They go for another surv, down + hook them, then find the DS user, down them, the 60 seconds aren't over and get punished even though they didn't tunnel.

The problem with removing BP per category cap entirely would be people could farm literally 1,000,000 BP in one game if they wanted to just farm with some survivors. Granted you can farm now, but most people wont for the 30k or so you can walk out with.
@Carpemortum I'd like to keep the overall cap of 32k bp. Just remove the 8k per category.
-
@xChrisx Do you mean that it's only fair to use MoM against killers who tunnel but it's unfair against killers who don't tunnel?
-
@Chaotic_Riddle said:
They have a system that punishes players who DC too often with bans. There’s room for improvement towards the system, but as of now, it’s still a WIP.
@Chaotic_Riddle As far as I know, players who dc too often don't get banned automatically. The devs still have to manually ban them, which they do in "ban waves".
-
I feel like these are too many perks to discuss in one single thread. Some of these need a rework, yes. I'd like to see changes especially for Vigil, No One Left Behind and Wake Up.
-
The BP per category cap.
Insta-heals come close 2nd.
-
Yes, there have been a lot of improvements. But let's not forget that the game is still unbalanced. There still needs to be changed a lot more until we have a balanced game.
@T0xicTyler I agree that the matchmaking is one of the most pressing issues at the moment, along with the amount of dc's and the ranking system.

BPS feel cursed. Whenever I burn them, people DC, have loading issues or I get tunneled into oblivion and beyond (if I am not the killer, of course).
So true. Wanted to play a match as killer, brought party streamers, my game crashed in the loading screen. No BPS and a depip.

@Andreyu44 said:
8 would be too much, 5 perk slots is cool tho.
@Andreyu44 Maybe. Ruin is kind of obligatory in the higher ranks. However, with a 2nd objective for survivors, we wouldn't need to think about this. 😐️
-
@Orion The thing is, you don't even have to play killer. A half-decent survivor can recognize the balance issues just by playing the survivor role. I wonder if some survivor mains truely believe that the game is balanced or if it is just some pretense.
-
Don't put ideas in my head. 😐️
-
12% aren't a great speed bonus. NOLB would need a better bonus. There are much stronger perks.
-
@Vexon Especially with the current ranking system, there are a lot of good SWF groups in the green ranks.
@MystiKasT DbD is unbalanced but it is still a great game. Don't get frustrated. If you want to have a chance in killing all the survs every game, learn to play Nurse or Hillbilly. If that is not that important to you, have fun with whichever killer you like best. :)
-
Freddy could get 8 perks slots to make him balanced.
Jokes aside: Yes, this game is unbalanced. But giving the killer more perk slots isn't the solution. It would lead to too powerful perk combinations.
Edit: typo
