They are not even live yet. Stop being overly dramatic.
@Thaznar Some people said the same when users here talked about their worries concerning MoM: "Wait until the perk is live." Now the perk is live and we know for sure that it is too powerful.
-
Criticism/negative feedback can be very useful for the devs, but only if it stays respectful. Bashing doesn't help anyone.
The current discussion about Legion is justified, but it should be more fact-oriented. At least, this time there is a PTB, contrary to MoM.
-
Against good, coordinated SWFs you only stand a chance with Nurse and in some cases Hillbilly. That doesn't mean that you can't 4k with Freddy. As long as the survivors don't play well enough, you can win with every killer.
-
I play solo surv a lot, so it's important for me to see what's going on. It's not only about whether the killer is near, it's also about where another surv is getting downed, is another person going for the unhook etc.
Switching between "repair mode" and "look around mode" doesn't feel like a solution to me. It would be different for SWF groups but I don't want to see solo and SWF drifting more apart.
@GraviteaUK I like your idea. It reminds me of rhythm games. 😊
-
The new DS would be a lot better if it got deactivated when the killer hooks another survivor after the DS user got unhooked. How it currently works, it also punishes killers who don't tunnel but down survivors fast.
-
Bring Deliverance and make sure to not get found first. As long as the killer doesn't have a one-shot ability, good teammates can also still help.
-
Any game has to be balanced around its top players. That includes DbD, of course.
-
I don't understand why you guys keep buffing it. It was fine before the Deep Wound debuff became a thing and now it's going to be even more powerful.
@Kagrenac Yes, the thing is, nobody had a problem with the old BT. Survivors weren't asking for a buff.
Now that BT follows the Deep Wound mechanic, it can't be changed back to how it was before without making a lot of players very angry.
-
Are you looking for a scenario where it matters whether the survivors get the 8 items from the chests instead of ignoring the chests?
-
So you are looking for a scenario where it doesn't have a big impact on the trial whether the survivors equip items in the lobby or not, is that right?

Because that approach tries to balance things by making something less significant. The less significant, the more the left green chart looks like the right green chart (2nd image). Perfectly balanced here would be no significance; items without value.
But a nerfed item would also be less significant. What is the difference?
-
Why do you think it's necessary to rework the entire system? Why not simply nerf the existing items and add-ons that are too powerful?
-

Just imagine being a survivor for a moment. You wore your last purple item, with the best addons you had. You almost scape but the killer was chasing you and when you thought you scape, the game stops your character for almost two seconds exactly in the final line and the killer hits you when the screen shows you you scaped, but the kilker was wearing franklin's
@Angelicus23 So it's not about balance but simply it's more frustrating when you lose the item on the last meter than losing it 20 meters earlier?
-

2 meters is the exact distance of half a second running
@Angelicus23 But why is that a reason why losing an item in the exit gate area is unfair, while losing it 2 meters in front of the area isn't?
-
@Angelicus23 said:

Because I feel it more balanced just inside the doors
@Angelicus23 But why, what is the reason? If you are in a chase and get hit 2 meters in front of the exit gates and lose your item, you have to escape without the item as well.
The exit gate area is still an unsafe zone where you can get hit. What makes these last couple of meters different from the rest of the map?

What happens when the kilker is still chasing you and you almost scape?
@Angelicus23 Why do you feel it is unfair to lose the item in the exit gate area but not unfair 2 meters in front of the exit gate area?

If you only want to use one perk for healing, I'd prefer We'll Make It.
If you want to bring a medkit for yourself, you can totally use Botany Knowledge. BK is a good perk but it really shines in combination with another perk or a medkit.
An alternative: Use Bond. You can find other players faster that way so you can heal each other. Since Bond is also useful in other situations, it's my favourite.

I'd actually prefer to see them implement a system that simply keeps your swf lobby intact after the killer lobby got dodged/disconnected.. It would be part of your suggestion either way, but a big QoL improvement if you wouldn't have to open a new lobby and invite people each and every time again..
@wurzelbart I hope the devs will implement this feature with the switch to dedicated servers.

Am I the only one who wanted to know wether Team A and B were 3/4 manning gens or doing them alone before answering?
@Carpemortum That was also my initial reaction. After reading the part "3 people healing the injured survivor" I just skipped the question.
And guys, don't forget, that quiz doesn't have to be perfect. It was just made for everybody to have fun, so thanks @AlwaysInAGoodShape ! 😊 ❤️

Slugging, tunneling, and patrolling/camping. The perk, in my opinion, is designed to be a survivor's version of Ruin. It wastes the Killer's time if they choose to pursue the Obsession. However, the way the Obsession system works currently kinda makes the perk extremely broken because every survivor can have it and it can guarantee a ######### endgame for the Killer.
Seriously, the only way to prevent this perk from be nerfed straight into F-tier but to make sure it's not as broken as it is now, is to force it so only survivor can have it in a game. One. Only one. It's just like DS back in the day, that was truly a god awful time. I can see the arguments for making it so only bodyblocking hits count when the Killer is carrying a survivor but at that point, it's too much of a headache. I'd rather run Aftercare or Bond or something.
@Mikeadatrix Why do you say that slugging and tunneling is a counter to MoM?
And camping is only a counter when the killer camps so hard that he makes sure that the survivor won't make it off the hook. But hard camping leads to the killer losing the match so I wouldn't really consider this a counter.

Increased timer would be fine. No token system, that would be too powerful. We had a thread here (a couple of weeks ago, I think) where the token system for PGTW was being discussed.
-
@GraviteaUK Yes, something like that. Bottom line: If possible, people should not get punished for other players' dc's.

That'd have to be a bug then. I've played a lot of Freddy and never seen it proc, and by all logic it SHOULDN'T proc against Freddy under any circumstances.
@ClogWench It has been this way since forever, I see it proc all the time playing both roles. (If BT should or shouldn't activate is another issue...)

While I agree, both those killers ignore BT so that doesn't help
@ClogWench BT doesn't get triggered as long as the Wraith is cloaked and doesn't have a terror radius, true. However with Freddy, BT does work. It doesn't matter if everybody is awake during the unhook, when Freddy is close enough during the unhook, the unhooked person will be protected by Borrowed Time.
Yes, Freddy is that weak.
-
@GraviteaUK Of course, you only compensate so much that the system won't be abused. It's not okay that a survivor depips because a killer dc's. I don't see a reason why the survivor shouldn't get a safety pip in that situation.

@GraviteaUK I never said that I don't want to see punishments. Those players who dc too often shouldn't be allowed to play the game anymore.
But besides that, the other players should get some sort of compensation. It shouldn't be possible that a player depips because another player is dc'ing.
-
This is not a killer vs. survivor issue. A dc hurts the other players, no matter the role they are playing. We need a better compensation for everyone when there is a dc in the match.
-
These killers aren't strong, especially Freddy, so they rely on tunneling more than Billy or Nurse. It might also depend on the rank. Rank 15 Wraiths camp more often than those on rank 1.
-
It's also not fair when survivors dc. We need a better compensation for everyone when a player dc's.
-
Hopefully, but I'll place my bet on Thursday.

Looks like I'm going to main Leatherface....
@FSB75 With Leatherface, you'll never experience the feeling when gens get finished, hex totems get cleansed, survivors get healed or unhooked right in front of you and you have to watch helplessly. Also Adrenaline and MoM would hit you more hard as Freddy. Freddy has the weakest basement game. If you really want to play the weakest killer, there is only one option.
-
As always, a great design! ❤️ I would totally buy your skins! 😍
-
Let's see what the devs will tell us next week about the new game mechanic "End Game Collapse". Maybe this will give killers more time.
With the current state of the game, Ruin is a necessitiy to buy time. Maybe it won't be necessary anymore. We'll have to wait and see.
-
@JawsIsTheNextKiller Imho the problem is bigger for those on console because you have to deactivate messages in general just because of one single video game.
-

Quintin would quickly take her place.
I'd love to see more Quentins. ❤️
@pemberley If you don't play a killer with tracking abilites, you are always allowed to dodge the lobby if you don't want to face certain players. If you play Freddy, it's easier to find Claudettes than with most of the other killers.
-
Well yes, it ignores the next "occasion" (description of the perk) that would put survivors from injured to dying state, so hatchets count.
The basic attack condition only refers to gaining the tokens for MoM.
Besides that, I think MoM is unfair to every killer, but that's not the topic of this thread.
-
@Orion Aren't ban waves only for those players who go over the dc threshold? I thought that those players who heavily insult or cheat are getting banned when the community managers review the reports.
-
Freddy is currently the weakest by far. But you will only notice how weak he is when you play against good survivors. Against inexperienced survivors, he is as viable as everybody else.
-
@Dustin "Survivor Mori Challenge - Once you have been rescued from a hook you may be killed by hand by the killer. Grants 200% bonus bloodpoints in all categories for the Survivor."
I like this very much!
In general, I don't think offerings that affect pallets or windows are a good idea. It's hard enough to find a good balance for maps; offerings would make finding a good spawn algorithm a lot more difficult.
-
@Kaelum Ah ok. I thought the critical point of time was at the end of the loading screen, before the match starts.
-
@Kaelum If a player sees a secret killer offering (=mori) and decides to close the game during the loading screen, then we should have the situation that the match doesn't start at all. Therefore, I see the potential for abuse, as long as offerings are shown during the loading screen.
-
Also, tomorrow is rank reset. Finding matches will probably get easier for some players after that. :)
-
I like the basic idea of how Freddy's power currently works. Some tweaks on his power could have helped him immensely already. Now it seems that he will get a complete rework of his power. I'm really excited for next month. I hope he will still be our Freddy.
-
Offerings need to be hidden in general. There are already enough survivors who will quit during the loading screen when they see a secret offering (=mori).
Concerning the op: I think it could very well be abused, especially by SWF groups. This is a very important issue.
-
No. We have to wait until next week.
But of course, we can speculate. 😊 I'll say it's only about the exit gates and not about the hatch.
-
@Thaznar I'm pretty sure this bug didn't exist for 4 months.
-
That is true. I feel like more and more people are dc'ing in my matches.
At least the "no depip when dc"-bug needs to be fixed quickly.
-
@Thaznar The devs wrote in another thread that they have a fix internally.
