  • FPS are fine but I'm also a person that prefers clear edges and contours over fancy graphical effects, especially in a game which revolves a lot around on-point timing and positioning.

With the new patch, the game looks so smudgy and blurry, regardless of the settings you take. Feels like you need fcking glasses. It wouldn't be that much of a problem if you could turn AA off in some way without having to worry about getting an EAC-slap.

I hope they fix it soon or give us a way to disable AA and thus choose to have the worse hair textures because I don't know literally how long I can stand playing like this.

  • The thing is, EGC is only intended to end games quicker, not to give killers an actual increased chance for a comeback.

  • Well they used the Red Forest tiles for the Plague's map, so why not recycle Haddonfield tiles? @Freudentrauma

  • @TheVVitch Ahh you mean a "counter" in terms of some kind of HUD mechanic that shows you the totems that are left and not gameplay-wise.. In that case I misunderstood, sorry m8.

Small Game doesn't count the totems. You have no way of knowing how many totems are left on a map as a solo survivor unless you have spent most of the match looking and managed to get all 5 yourself.

@TheVVitch True, Small Game doesn't "hard counter" the totems. The privilege of knowing how many totems are cleansed, left, lit and dull is one of voice-com SWFs.

Yet still, any half decent Survivor/SWF will react to totems depending on the rank they're on, the killer they face and how the game develops they're in.

For example, a Freddy is more likely to have NOED than a Huntress, a MM or Billy with NOED is more likely on yellow than purple/red ranks etc. And Ruin can be predicted on almost every game since most killers depend on it.

Now, apart from those general considerations, survivors will (or at least should) adapt their behaviour towards totems to the state the current match is in. For example, if two gens are already done and nobody has been hooked so far, the survs have an advantage and can afford to search and cleanse totems or at least cleanse them where they find them, even if they're dull. If, on the other hand, the killer applies a lot of pressure on them and two or three people have been hooked already before the first gen even popped, the survs will have more urgent matters to attend to than cleansing totems, of course. But the thing is, knowing or not knowing where the totems are or how many are left wouldn't make any difference in that situation, because any surv who actually tries to win will at that point prioritize gens over everything else.

So, whether totems are a threat and might cause problems or not is highly situational.

And since the new end game collapse will only trigger either when a gate is opened or the hatch is closed, NOTHING will change regarding this until the game is pretty much over. If you're worried about NOED that is, you'll have to find and cleanse it before opening a gate. Or cleanse every totem you see along your way during the game. Which is - again - a question of individual priorities and evaluation. So, people will still have to actually THINK about what their next move is, and that's good.

I don't see any reason to comfort those who feel that totems are unfair because they face the results of themselves not questioning their own playstyle and cry for nerfs before using their brain.

If you use your brain, think about the situation you're in and act accordingly, you have a good chance and most likely will not encounter any serious problems with totems.

If you don't, you also don't deserve a free escape. That simple.

I'm not sure I like all these sudden changes coming to DBD, I mean I'm happy for all you moonwalking legions out there but I just feel end game rework is not really warranted. Your trying to spice up the game to appease people who have left but you may push more players away depending on what these changes are. I hope the devs are right on this

Actually, after the recent few changes, at this point I kind of hope that with the new system(s), things might fall back into place. You know, like gears gripping into each other. @ShaneQ

PLEASE give us a totem counter then. You're punishing solo survivors

It's called Small Game. Actually quite a useful perk, I like to run it myself even when playing solo. Totems are perfectly fine as they are now. @Nova_Terra

  • Just check the actual numbers on steamdb to see how bad it really is.

    And so far, it isn't.

Even though there's a whole lot wrong this game lately.

    • The Deep Wound timer progress is no longer reduced by regular Feral Frenzy attacks.

if this goes live legion will officially be the worst killer in the game.

Maybe that was the long awaited Freddy buff! :O Mind = blown @ricardo

  • @TreemanXD Ah, I think I get what you mean now. It all revolves around the short stun you get when coming out of frenzy. Because it's literally the only difference between getting out of frenzy yourself after hitting them once because you don't need it anymore and running up to them, missing the hit and get out of frenzy right next to them. That short stun would give the surv a short time window to escape..

  • @GrootDude said:

The only thing that needs changed imo is not losing all of your power bar for missing an attack.

Why would you even hit a surv in Feral Frenzy when it will neither deplete the timer nor put them to dying state? @TreemanXD

  • Asked the exact same question. I don't see Legion's M2 have any and all use anymore besides slightly running faster for x amount of time and being able to vault windows and pallets before it goes on CD. You won't even want to hit survs while in Feral Frenzy, it literally only seems to have downsides.

  • I'd actually prefer to see them implement a system that simply keeps your swf lobby intact after the killer lobby got dodged/disconnected.. It would be part of your suggestion either way, but a big QoL improvement if you wouldn't have to open a new lobby and invite people each and every time again..

  • Awesome!

We'll see how it turns out, but I'm definitely excited and the news made my day. :)

  • You know what actually bothers me about MoM? Apart from it making M1-Killers even less desirable to play?

That players never had the opportunity to give feedback about it before it released.

I mean, shortly before the Ash release, we had the PTB with the new killer and her perks, and man, people were screaming bloody murder about what seemed and proved to be a mid to higher mid tier killer. There's been discussing and suggesting for weeks before she was released, and that was good.

And then, shortly after the new chapter was released - POOF - Ash and MoM came out of nowhere. When I saw the leaked pics, I thought this must've been a fake or joke because I couldn't believe the devs would implement a character with such a strong perk without giving anyone the chance to give some feedback about it.

    But they did.

And now we (both us players and them) have to deal with this mess.

  • Here we go with "main"-thinkers crying biased 🙄

BTT: Sometimes it's like that. Don't know why tbh. Maybe most of them have a Legion daily? Besides that, Legion is easy to play against so I don't get the DC attitude some people seem to have towards them.. They keep saying he's annoying to play against but pff, you get hit, you mend, you keep doing gens and that's it. Honestly, Doc is way more "annoying".

  • Teabagging and "gg ez" (or similar hostile aftergame chat) are the only two things I would really consider "toxic" to be honest.

Flashlight clicking - Nah, they just want your attention and maybe be annoying.

Unhooking directly after you hooked someone - Cheeky, but stupid. Poor farmed guy.

Being camped - Maybe they don't know better or are insecure. Not necessarily a personal matter.

    Tunneling - Same.

Being facecamped and nodded at right in front of the hook - Looks like someone is holding a grudge or direly frustrated. Not necessarily a personal matter aswell.

Sandbagging - Accidents happen, might have been a mistake. If it definitely was planned, it's a d*ck move, but not toxic.

Looping, mindgaming, OoO, ... - No, no, just.. No. It's called "playing the game".

Basically what benzos said. People get offended easily nowadays about small stuff and call every little thing that grinds their gears "toxic".

Do you want to get fix killer DC issues or only survivor DC issues ?

    @FranWilliams

I don't want ANYONE to DC because I want to PLAY THE GAME. In BOTH roles.

Honestly, I don't get the point of your question.

  • Oh, so PS4 has that bug now too. Great..

We've had that on PC for a few weeks too

You never seen the movies? Hes an ingenious little bastard. Super human strength, pulley systems, etc. It would be wonky, but it could be done.

The FoV is a far bigger issue though. Imagine Coldwind with fog offering....

@Carpemortum I actually had to laugh. Because I could perfectly imagine that little bit of hair standing out of the fog in the midst of a corn field and his voice saying "Hello? Guys? .. The F*CK is this sh*t" :D

But honestly, I don't think he will make it to the game. Ever.

    1. As said, hard to play such a small killer
    2. Hook animation would need an overhaul
    3. Very expensive license I believe

I might be wrong though, I was also wrong about Freddy.

...Well, see how that turned out.

  • Yup. Feels like

"Hey, after weeks and months finally a new killer that is not trash or low tier AND fun to play, this might actually be grea- *gets crushed by broken matchmaking and rank system while being stabbed in the back from MoM out of nowhere*"

Honestly, I'd be completely fine if they simply reverted the rank and matchmaking system back to where it was before, fixed the loading fails and punished the DCs.

  • Know the feel. I've been playing killer preferably (survivor aswell, with friends) and it's no fun anymore. At least if you play M1 killers, and I always liked to play some of them (esp. Trapper, Myers).

Not gonna lie, I've never been a A+++ Killer, but I guess I know the basic stuff (cutting short loops, hiding stain on pallets, timing M1 or your power in general, baiting DH etc pp). I always played around Rank 1-8 as killer, depending how much time I had on my hand.

But with the long queues lately, DC-Mania, new perks and matchmaking system, I'm fed up.

Not only do you not get full lobbies in a good part of your games because someone failed to load the game, with the new system, people DC about every little crap. Because it's 3v1, because it's this and that map or killer, because they were found first, because their breakfast wasn't good, whatever.

And if you should get a game with 4 people, chances are you will get survs that are way out of your league, be it above or below. I won't even start about the new MM at this point.

Thing is, before all that #########, I've had a pretty good mix of games. Sometimes I got 4k, most of the times 2 or 3 kills, but also games with 1 or no sacrifice at all. And that was fine.

But lately, I do consistently get a max of 1 kill at best if I don't play Billy or Huntress. Maybe I'm just a boosted killer and have to git gut? Maybe the MM is broken because as green/purple killer I get consistently matched with the new and improved sweaty red rank survivors? Or both? That is to say, I don't camp hooks, I don't tunnel the unhooked and I don't chase attention wh*res with their flashlights. Maybe not playing like a sh*thead is the problem.

Bottom line for me is, the game isn't fun for me anymore when I'm forced to play certain killers if I want to get around 24k points (which has never been a problem before). And on top of that, at the moment, you don't WANT to rank up anymore, because it takes a lot longer to get a full lobby and the survivors become even harder to play against, so you don't even really want to get all kills. Just take a look at the streamers who purposely disconnect from games they played so they don't have to rank up...

So, finally at this moment I see myself at a point where I have to make a decision. Do I

    • start camping/tunneling/play shittier in general in order to be able to keep up with the survs
    • train Nurse like a mother****er for the same reason even though I hate her
    • only play survivor (which has become boring as f*ck lately)
    • take a shorter or longer break from DbD in general?

Tendencies go towards point 4. Both sides have become unfun lately, but the killer role particularly, which I always liked most.

    Too bad..

  • Will most likely pause DbD aswell for some time even though I love the game per se.

Playing as survivor became boring because Killers in the current state are more or less Bloodpoint Piñatas and no real threats or challenges. Except for Nurse, Billy and Huntress maybe, if they're decent.

And Killer is no fun to play anymore for the same reason.

Plus crashes, loading fails, queue times, broken matchmaking, DC-Mania, gamebreaking bugs (entity block not working)...

It's just way too much at the moment.

  • @ImAGirl

Do you use a NVIDIA graphics card? In that case, maybe using one of the filters in the GeForce Experience game overlay may help with that problem.

Haven't tried them all myself though.

  • I guess I'll just drink all the beers people keep giving me for some reason, wait the five days and see what happens before having an opinion. 😏
