I think Clown is meh. You don't feel like you're doing a lot when you're actually doing a lot.
  • Almost, is the key word.
Yes, DBD still have ways to go but this is the closest we have ever been! :)

    Ok i kinda read it.

If i could decide i wouldnt give kindred to solo survivors. Same way i've said many times that killers shouldn't be equally viable (please don't burn me) BUT VIABLE because i see them as different kind of difficulties so should be the same for survivors. You tryhard survivor? Play solo with the same features.

If any offering needs to be change is BNP, it's a joke that its price is still 7K. They should buff it, reduce the cost or simply remove it, i don't care.

Btw killer mains, if you see survivors using party streamers dont camp them right off the bat please, those points are for you as well.

make a killer challenging because their MECHANICS are challenging, not just because they're hot trash

@yeet no one wants hot trash killers lol

you said "killers shouldn't be equally viable", which is the wrong kind of thinking when it relates to making a game challenging

    unfairness =/= challenge

@yeet and i also said with capital letters "but viable". By that i meant that it would be like choosing a difficulty, but far from being impossible, all of them would be viable. Plus the fact that killers with different powers and mechanics would be quite difficult to make them all equally viable.
Same thing for survivors, that's why i'm discussing with nickenzie about solo survivors. Funny thing is that this time it's him who wants to give something to survivors and i don't like it. 😂

i'd just prefer more skill based interactions between killers and survivors
because what is a more skill based interaction: juking a nurse blink or sprint bursting away from a leatherface saw

Skilled interactions will still exist, it's just that solo Q survivors will have more coordination when it comes to things SWF groups thrive in. I haven't been playing a lot of survivor recently since you don't get as much BP and it's incredibly boring to play gen sim.

I'd have to disagree and say Kindred is very needed as baseline if you wanna add some closure between SWF and solo Q survivors. A SWF team can communicate where the killer is at and who is gonna perform the save, ya know? Kindred does the exact same thing. Whoever is closest to the hook goes for the save and if the closest survivor is hesitant for the save, the killer is likely camping so rush the generators ASAP. Of course my ideas can be tweaked, perhaps we can only have kindred level 2 be baseline so it doesn't ruin the horror aspect of the game too much.
Idk, maybe it's just that i would like players to play smart instead of providing everything. The way the game is right now i do quite well when playing solo, i don't understand why should be buffed.
This time you can't say i'm biased because this goes against me (theorically) :)
There have been many times where I'd keep working on a generator thinking someone would go for the save. However, no one does and the hooked survivor goes to the struggle phase or just dies. Having Kindred level 2 would make survivors play a lot smarter in my opinion since there's more indirect communication.
Or they could just run it and get all the benefits of kindred tier 3.
Seriously i don't understand why no more solo survivors run that perk.
I think I'm the only solo Q survivor that runs it! :p

However, I don't feel like a solo Q survivor should have to run a perk to close the gap between SWF and solo Q survivors. I feel like it's not the survivors problem, if it was then they should use a perk but it isn't their problem, it's the developers problem ever since they added SWF.

  • I'd just be happy if they removed DS. If survivors want an escape make them work for it, flashlight saves, bodyblocking etc

This makes them get off gens to save. Nobody gets off gens when it's the obsession because you know they're going to escape all by themself.
Instead of writing down everything from this one thread I made, here's a link to one of the best DS rework this far.
    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/23199/the-decisive-strike-problem-rework/p1

However, I really do feel like kindred, at least level 2 should be built into the survivors main kit.

I like the idea, but I can also see it causing a lot of fighting. I can only imagine how someone would get all riled up because this person did this, or that person did that, and so everyone gets more bloodpoints for that match.

I think if anything, it should just be based on how close the match is. That way good players get a reward for going easier on new players. But even then I can see people getting mad at a killer for getting an early 4k. I've also been in a few situations where I'm playing against new survivors and my attempt to go easy on them eventually just felt like I was trying to waste their time.

I think it's great on paper though, I'm just not sure how well it would play out.
Usually, I'd get 3-4 kills average on every match and that's with me being very generous. The generosity comes from me when I don't kill survivors instantly because then you lose future chase points and hit points in the future. There have been times where it almost cost me the game when I feel so bad for this survivor that I drop them back on the floor to have another chance.

if you give survivors that much information you'd need to either make generators significantly more difficult, or absolutely gut chase mechanics, a lot of this would absolutely kill ways killers make pressure

Of course, that's why "Rushing Generators" was in my list as well. Additionally, if every survivor team was as strong as SWF then the developers can balance killers around that. This means killer would need more buffs to compensate for the huge closure between SWF and solo Q survivors.

    "Delayed Instadown"

Not trying to be rude in any way, but there's a bit of a problem with that statement.

I agree, no killer should from a baseline perspective be able to instantly down anyone.
Because if you consider it, every killer who has the capability to instantly down either has to use very rare or ultra rare addons or have to put in a great deal of effort for it.

I'm okay with killers having an "Instadown" but it should be a skilled action that has counterplay. However, the Legion power has way to much counterplay - meaning his power is no threat to regular survivors - rendering his power completely useless.

Knowing what I said to @Incarnate, he is not lethal enough to be considered an "Delayed instadown killer". Please @Janick, you gotta take my suggestions and implement it to the game. I'll sign a contract or do anything saying you have the legal rights to take my idea so we all can have a more balanced killer!

Okay, we're making ground now (and this is good thing).

"...The middle finger is something that is done in real life to offend people."

Tbagging is also a "REAL THING". Some survivors will tbag just to offend the killer, like after every pallet stun just to add more insult to injury. In that situation with some context clues, I can see the killer getting annoyed because there's no reason for the survivor to tbag after every pallet stun, why is it necessary to do that at every pallet stun? Knowing this, the killer is left to assume the survivor is doing that to add more insult to injury since you been pallet stunned, it's the most logical thinking anyone would do. That's how tbagging can be offensive but there are also ways how a tbag can be funny (I think you know).

    TL;DR
Think of tbagging as laughing in real life. There are times where it's appropriate and other times not so much. Depending on when you laugh, it can be taken differently.

It's a video game Nickenzie, understand this. ITS A VIDEO GAME It's NOT comparable to real life actions, no one ACTUALLY tbags in real life, people ACTUALLY put up the middle finger in real. They are NOT comparable good lord.

"...no one ACTUALLY tbags in real life..."

I don't wanna talk about what a tbag is in real life on the forums. Please search up, preferably Google, "What is a tbag?" And you'll see it's very disrespectful depending on the situation with some context clues (I'm not going any further than this since it's that bad).

"ITS A VIDEO GAME It's NOT comparable to real life actions..."

Just because something is a game doesn't mean it can't be taken seriously, ya know? Additionally, my first quote says tbagging is a real thing in real life btw so it's comparable since both things can be disrespectful.

I'd like to say thank you for this civilized discussion, it's the reason why I like the forums. ;)

I think I worte about it in the past. But I guess you just lack empathy then ...
Tbagging is an act on active disrespect, right in front of a person, who during match is under constant stress with almost no calming phases compared to the other 4 they face.
It's probably one the main reasons, why DbD always had a form of "bullying simulator" problem in it's core design. Survivors have enough safe spaces to actively disrespect the killer without any direct consequences. They do it in situations, when the killer is most likely stressed right now, which means it will most likely work. And when it works it starts a spiral of frustration for the killer, because they get more unstable -> more mistakes beeing made -> more opportunity to Tbag and disrespect -> etc.
You might not experience such games by yourself. Maybe because you don't care about that, when you play killer. Or maybe because you are more mentaly stable. But I would argue that the average player, or an average human beeing is vulnerable.
And the argument it's a video game is actually quite fitting. When you play a video game you expect at least to be in a form of a safe space. One where you experienced stress in an controlled manner. And I know online gaming can be toxic and frustrating, but when it's crossing the line of active humilation, then yey there is an issue.
Especially in asymmetrical game, where the amount of stress is highly different for each side.

    Lack empathy? Good god.

I T-Bag when a killer is camping to see if it'll get them to chase me so my random team mate has a chance of getting points, this is a video game, tbagging has been in every game with a crouch button for 15 years and I've never seen so many people crying about it, it ACTUALLY has a use in this game because some killers get so upset by it that they'll stop camping someone to get the person that's going it.

If you're vulnerable and things such as crouching rapidly are going to trigger you, you should step away from the game and take the proper measures to sort your life out. If tbagging is the reason you want to cry at night YOU NEED A BREAK.

Yada yada safe spaces in games where you literally murder people, tbagging is the least awful thing in this game and I'll reiterate, if tbagging is so harmful to your mental state you need to seek a professional.

Sigh... I'll try one more time @SenzuDuck. If tbagging is just a few pixels bouncing up and down then what about the middle finger? I mean, it's just me moving my finger and it's not causing any harm?

  • I'm in favor of:

    Surveillance:

You have an uncanny sense for knowing when your playthings begin exceeding your expectations.
Gain a notification when a survivor hits any great skill check within 28/32/36 meters and mark that survivor for later trouble.
Marked survivors will create a notification whenever they hit a good or great skill check.
Survivors become unmarked when they fail any skill check.

This can work, me like! :)

I'm gonna assume you didn't even read my post, survivors tbag for a reason. It can be meant as an insult or as a compliment/joke. It depends on the context clues of the situation on how the survivor wants the tbag to be taken as. If you see an Ace in the basement with 5 items around him tbagging then he is likely trying to get you to laugh. If a Claudette tbags you after every pallet stun then the tbag is meant as an insult.

"No where do I say survivors tbag for no reason?"

"again I didn't say that you said survivors tbag for no reason"

I also didn't assume that survivors tbag for no reason I clearly say "It’s pretty clear why players do it". I don't at all think they tbag for no reason, they tbag to distract and annoy because it clearly works when you have killers begging players to be banned for it, it's not offensive, however.

I think it's best you ignore all my comment from here on out because I'm honestly tired of you not understanding anything.

Whatever, can't say I tried to have a civilized conversation with you before I completely shun you. :/

    The list is pretty disingenuous.

    • removed the ability to be able to use items that belonged to other killers (i.e. myers with a chainsaw etc.)*
    • removed the killer's ability to be able to fly*
    • removed the ability to be able to earn bloodpoints from hitting a survivor that is on a hook*
    • Removed the ability to be able to reduce the effects from wiggling by hitting a wall while carrying a survivor*

    Yes "Nerfs".

It doesn't help the fact that there's so many weak-hearted players who get upset by tbagging or flashlights. I've never know a game where people complain so much about tbagging, it's been a thing for like 15+ years, why is everyone so easily offended now-a-days.

Game is pretty easy on both sides, and I'll continue to argue that the majority of the issues aren't mechanic related but are player related, in that people think they're better than they actually are, and when they come across a survivor or a killer that is better than them they blame mechanics for all their issues and say the game is unfair.

Here we go again with you assuming every survivor tbags for absolutely no reason @SenzuDuck . Ofc a survivor tbags for a reason, sometimes it's meant as an insult and others times it's meant as a compliment. It really depends on the context clues on the situation but saying it's childish for someone to get offended by a tbag is not fair. :/

I agree with this statement but... If I can't do well with Freddy, Legion, Leather Face, and other weak killers then was it truly me being bad?
No where do I say survivors tbag for no reason? It’s been a thing for a 15 years in gaming and no community that I’ve been a part of has cried so much about it. It’s pretty clear why players do it when you come to the forums and see people wanting tbagging to result in things like insta downs. How the hell anyone can get upset by a character model moving up and down is beyond me.

Again, I didn't say that you said "Survivors tbag for no reason". I said that you're assuming like a survivor tbags for absolutely no reason. Again... @SenzuDuck

To be honest, I'm done explaining this any further with you. :/

Seriously, whoever used those codes could say thank you at least.

Usually someone will come here and snipe these codes quickly (Who wouldn't it's $100 worth of money) but I do agree, I wanna see who got the codes! :)

I do it all the time and end up getting tunnelled like mad. Is it toxic to point at a killer when they get a mental hitbox hit on me or if I don't want them to chase me or just for memes? I do it all the time for fun and most the time a killer takes it as a joke but sometimes they get so angry. Should I stop or is it just the few who misunderstand me?

It depends on the context clues of the situation. I usually don't see a reason why a survivor would point at me after every pallet stun so I'll take it as an insult while walking up to me and pointing at me is a friendly sign.

And for all the buffs we killers took, we also took a ton of nerfs.

Those who remember the old forums probably remember this epic thread.

And I've said it before, and I'll say it again - most of us aren't looking to 4k all the time. We just want the killer game to feel less frustrating. Most of us don't mind losing when we're clearly outplayed - we just hated losing because of how easy it was to get our time wasted.

Game is indeed in better shape than it was int he begining though, I will grant you that.

I cannot comment on how it is now because I quit the game two months ago as I felt the communities toxicity creeping into my attitude. However, I hope to come back.

But everytime I even THINK about coming back, I run into this crap.

This isn't about us and them and "people wanting to 4ks all the time". We just want the game to feel fair. And to those of us who played both sides (myself included), it never feels close to fair most of the time - survivors held all the cards when it came down to time management.
