it is when you're broken, which you likely will be because you'll end up getting infected again pretty quick unless you're just not doing anything.
Everything is one hit if you're broken. So I don't know what you're going on about. Corrupt Purge is not a one-hit down. Period.
Now, if you actually washed your face, maybe you wouldn't be broken? Gettign broken takes a while after getting infected. There's a good chance you're not broken when she uses the red puke.

Being injured all game is not as dangerous as you think it is when you know how to properly loop.
I'm saying a lot of survivors don't know how to loop.
And you're making silly assumptions about me. I play with No Mither regularly.

what would you rather have, a one hit melee down, or a long ranged one hit down? cause chances are you're gonna get sick again after cleansing, become broken, then she has her red puke. i'd rather deal with the one hit melee that the ranged.
Corrupt Purge is not a one-hit down.

Doctor is only bad if whoever plays with him makes the matches last for ages. Maybe the devs will be able to do something about this when they change him.
Slugging is definitely needed in some situations in order to apply more map pressure as killer. It becomes a problem though once killers just slug the entire team and then hook survivors. It would be nice if the first survivor downed would receive a free Unbreakable as soon as at least 3 survivors are all lying on the ground.
The slug tactic is a headache, what's annoying is that whenever I remove Bond or Unbreakable or even No Mither that's when I run into a killer who wants to slug.

@LordGlint Yep, I remember that fiasco in Overwatch.
Now, they could do what Overwatch currently does. You have three avoid slots, and after seven days whoever you put on it automatically drops off unless you manually put them back on.
Needless to say, I've used those slots damned often. I've never kept anyone on there permanently. Matter of fact, after about two days or so they're usually replaced by someone else.
Interestingly I've never used the Avoid slots in Overwatch. I welcome all comers. Overwatch is not the kind of game that feels toxic to play anyhow.

If no one actually cleanses then she never even gets to use it, hence why she's a weak killer that doesn't even get to use her power.
In which case her power now reads: "All Survivors are Broken for the Entire Game and cannot stealth because of green misty aura you can see from a mile away and incessant coughing that 100% counters Iron Will. You also counter Inner Strength, Fixated, Self Care, We'll Make It, Auto-Didact, Second Wind and Botany Knowledge, rendering these perks absolutely useless."
That is actually a really powerful ability.
-
When she drinks the red puke just play extra careful and hide for a bit.
If you're all getting downed by one red puke fountain you guys are playing too aggressively. It's the same as when Myers hits Level 3. You play a little more carefully than you usually would.

I'm surprised people want Rule Set No. 2 in base kit. I personally don't think that would be good. The main purpose of Pig's Reversed Bear Traps is to slow the game down, not kill survivors.
If it becomes part of the base kit, then you could use the addon that increases the available jigsaw boxes by one and the addon that decreases the Bear Trap timer. It would be way too likely to get kills via Reversed Bear Traps. And probably very annoying for survivors as well since it's based on rng.
One buff I would love to see is for survivors to have a 0% chance to receive the key for your Reveresed Bear Trap in the first Jigsaw Box you search. But Rule Set No. 2 would be too good in my opinion.
Not to mention Pig can camp the jigsaw boxes and prevent survivors from getting off, gettign easy kills. It's an annoying playstyle and this change would just encourage it.

that's why the swf game mode exists, because they biitched untill they got their own way.
but don't worry the devs don't balance the game around these entitled, cry baby survivor players.............oh wait
Some weird delusions you are having, I have a prescription of Risperdal® for you to help.
-
I'm not justifying it. I'm just answering the question.
-
Because Survivors are stressed out from playing the game and getting stomped all the time.
It's actually the exact same thing with killer.
-
I'd just like to say: no.
-
That's a bad idea, because now it's impossible to juke the killer.
This severely nerfs survivor ability to loop, AND utterly destroys juking, which is hard enough to do as it is.
i.e. -- you just took away every tool the Survivor has to survive.
-
It is oddly specific, but it makes sense. The devs have lately been using perks as bandaid fixes to discourage certain metas and playstyles.
For instance, they changed DS and buffed BT to discourage camping and tunneling. Then they introduce perks like Baby Sitter and Camaraderie. The devs are definitely working towards reducing camping and tunneling, and they're doing it through perks.
Same with genrushing. To slowdown the game they're introducing perks like Surge, and are giving perks like Discordance, Thriling Tremors and Infectious Fright to help killers locate gens that are under fire to better defend them. Then they introduce Inner Strength to encourage survivors to waste time dealing with totems instead of doing gens (also has double duty of addressing noEd in a roundabout way).
Then we have the no-heal meta. They are trying to encourage healing now with Inner Strength, Second Wind and of course Fixated.
It honestly makes a lot more sense than any other theory.

The fact that this many people actually upvoted this incorrect information basically answers OP's question.
They favor the majority and that's the low rank people that only play survivor.
You also get a lot of those same people coming on these forums pushing them with wrong information like this even further into the wrong direction.
The only people disagreeing with you OP and saying its because of skill is because they themselves don't actually play killer at rank 1 and understand what the balance of the game actually looks like.
The only killers actually making mince meat of survivors "consistently" being the key word here, are people playing the top few only viable killers, not all the long list of M1 killers.
I'm being called arrogant but your views are a lot more elitist and arrogant than mine.
I'm not denying that at the highest levels it's tough for killer. I don't play their so I wouldn't know, and I take people's word for it. But I've never denied and have actively stated that this game is not balanced for the upper 1% at the highest ranks. If it were, the game would die to the sea of blood at all the other ranks where everyone is playing.
Now, let me tell you this. There are lots of killers who don't play the Big 3 and still have success at Red Ranks. Grootdude is one example using Leatherface.
I am spreading false information? No. I am objectively correct.
You are the one spreading wrong information. A lot of killers are spreading this false propaganda that only 3 killers are viable at Red Ranks. They only spread this incorrect information because their own personal experience is they can't do Red Ranks with anyone other than The Big Three.
Does that make it the truth? No. It just means they're not good enough with other killers at Red Ranks.
It may sound arrogant to you killers with huge egos, but the truth is every killer can do well at Red Ranks if you are good enough for it. What I said isn't wrong, but a lot of you are too proud to admit it. So you all believe in this echo chamber group think that the devs are biased against Killers.
And really, that's a load of baloney.

You sound so arrogant... Clown isn't Spirit who has one of the biggest map pressure in the game. I can't say the same to Trapper, Pig, Plague, Ghostface, Wraith, Bubba etc etc. It's not impossible to got 4k but you need to work insanily hard and things can still go wrong, no matter how you good you are. It's not only about the comunication of SWF but some maps are 100% on survivor side. Don't get me wrong but I bet that you're a typical survivor main who thinks that the game is ballanced for every killer.
I'm not denying that there are A-Rank killers and D-Rank killers. But what I said isn't wrong. It may sound arrogant to you, but it's the truth. The truth is a bitter pill for a lot of people.

Because devs balanced the game on lower rank, especially not so optimal and coordinated survivors.
As soon as survivors play optimal and coordinate each other, this game will automatically get imbalance.
Every killer should on the same level as nurse, billy, spirit at map / gens control and also should be able down survivors very quick.
Many survivor main are very proud when they are successfully destroy and bully weaker killer multiple times and even insulting them directly or indirectly, but then complaining the most when against strong killer with reason stressful and unfun.
Do you think play as a weak killer is fun and not stressful? Already did the best but still the fate of winning or losing is on survivor's hand. Don't be egoist and denial. You play against other human not a toy.
I don't play Spirit or Billy. I often use Myers and Wraith. I'm doing fine killing survivors. It's not stressful unless you are always demanding 4Ks every game.
-
This is why it should be changed. It doesn't matter if it doesn't, but changing it lets you make use of it with perks like No Mither.
-
Haven't noticed this. Probably you just got a string of salty killers in your matches.
-
Yeah nobody likes that idea, I don't know what they want.
It's like they just want straight buffs to killers across the board.
Everybody hates long chases, but surprisingly nobody wants chases nerfed in this manner. It's confusing what people want.

I wish green keys would just be removed from the list of items that can be found in chests; when I'm searching a chest I'm specifically expecting something that will help me with the current trial. Getting a green key means that I've risked searching a chest for nothing.
I put in a suggestion request for this like last year. It hasn't been acted upon so it's clearly something they still want in chests.
-
Before you ask to fix the solo escape rate, ask first what the solo escape rate is.
Do we have updated stats for this? Is solo escape rate still actually a problem? Or is this a case of you needing to get better at the game?
-
In my opinion, the way to fix "decent killers" is to nerf survivors so that they have less mobility.
Then you buff survivors so they have more stealth options to evade killers.
This flattens out the mobilty advantage that the "Big Three" have while giving survivors more ways to hide and avoid or juke killers.
You wouldn't even need to make any changes to the killers. And it takes care of the biggest complaint killers have: chases take too long. While forcing survivors to adapt and find other tactics to survive.
One way is to implement a stamina bar for survivors so they have limited time running at full speed. Then you buff the peak running speed of survivors a little maybe. So chases start strong but killers easily catch them later, no more 5-minute chases.
Then we can like, finally darken the map again and make it more atmospheric, help survivors stealth a little better and juke better, killers still have tons of perks to locate survivors anyway.
And find some other mechanic that can help juke and evade. Maybe after the stamina bar depletes a survivor doesn't leave scratchmarks for 3 seconds. I don't know.
-
Yeah. I wish that Green Keys in chests always came with Wedding Rings. Then I'd stop whining.

I really wish it worked whilst injured. Quick and quiet, iron will fixated and no mither for a soundless bloodless untrackable build.
The restriction is mostly in place to encourage people to heal to gain the benefit but honestly it just makes it less useful when it could be a very powerful perk against people like spirit.
This. Come on BHVR let us have No Mither Fixated please?

I was playing against a Plgue last night as Nancy and I was laughing when I realized she is a counter two of her perks 🤣 Can't heal in a locker if you're Broken and can't walk faster either. I thought it was really cool to be honest, not many Killers have that kind of natural counter to perks like that.
One of the reasons I hate Plague, she messes up my game so much and renders so many of my favorite perks useless.
But hey at least she gives us free heals. Plague Fountains are far superior to hiding in a locker if you want a quick heal.
-
Nope, sadly. That would be a huge buff to the perk if it were the case, though.

Don't bother, Mochan is absolutely survivors biased, nothing you can do...
As for the original topic, the game is survivors sided because the devs allowed it to be.
It was clear that balancing a 4 vs 1 game on one vs one chases would have broken the game, but survivors lobbied for looping and chases and we ended up with a game where only 4/5 killers are acceptable.
You can even win with bobba don't get me wrong but if you do its because you were much better than the survivors.
At equal skill level good survivors will beat a good killer who isn't using spirit or nurse or maybe Billy
That is your theory. How exactly are you measuring "equal skill"?
I'm curious to hear how you managed to prove your point that at equal skill levels survivors will win every time if not against the Big Three.

I think you may have missed part of the point. I think with Spirit, I have a good chance of getting there (but again this post isn't about me). No way with Clown, and that is sad. The game should be balanced to have diverse killers at all tiers.
While what you said isn't wrong, but what I said isn't, either.
You can more easily get to Rank 1 with Spirit, because she's a strong killer and you can get good results with her with relatively less skill. Clown is a harder to get good results at in the higher ranks, but you'd be wrong to say that it's impossible. It can be done, I have played many Clowns at Red Ranks, they can get the job done if they are good enough.
Like I said, you just need to work at it.
And I didn't miss your point. I think you made it pretty clear with this statement.
My theory is that they pander to survivors because at the end of the day, there are always more survivors playing then killers (4 per 1 each match!). Then, the focus on "balancing" the middle ranks (theoretically where the majority of the players are). -
@[Deleted User] said:
They don't favor survivors. They just favor the casual audience and survivors tend to be more powerful at higher competitive play than they are in casual.
I don't think they're ignoring the competitive audience. At least not completely. After all, killer gameplay health since a few years ago has improved dramatically (saying it's improved isn't the same as saying as it's in a good spot). If none of these changes w ere made, I highly doubt you'd have reached red ranks at all without using Nurse.
Killers need to be deadlier with chases shorter, while there needs to be more emphasis on not getting caught and seen by the killer in the first place. Survivors need new tools to help with that, as there's little to no tools for survivors to hide and most of the tools they have don't do much to actually hide them (who the hell uses Poise?)
Killers have a utility belt of searching tools that puts even Bat Man to shame with all of the tracking and aura reading perks they have at their disposal. These perks might have been fine when the maps had the old, dark lighting and fog, but even without them, I am finding survivors incredibly easily now-a-days.
Precisely this!

One question, do you enjoy constant pain and suffering?
As a potential member of the #LegionGang that's what you'll face.
Too much drama.
Legion is only suffering if you are expecting 4ks every match, and Legion despite what this forum likes to say is fully capable of getting 4ks.
Moreover, to the OP's question, Legion is great for getting blood points, it's easy to get 25k BP with Legion without getting a single kill.
So can we please end the Legion drama club hysterics. It's unsightly.
-
While Haddonfield is definitely survivor-sided there's a lot of drama here and killers are overestimating survivor skills on this map.
If Haddonfield were as broken as people say this map would have a 100% escape rate.
In the end it still comes down to skill and while really good survivors can really give killers a bad time on this map in practice for most people this map isn't that bad and lots of killers can do well on it.
-
Yeah that's usually what I do as well, I don't want to go through the drama of hiding and pulling. Too much effort, I'll just go to the next game.
-
I agree. The one time a Gorgon stealthily snuck up on me it was when he placed the portal on the balcony of the house. I was doing a gen inside the house and keeping my eye on the stairs. When I heard his tuba chase music I kept an eye on the stairs but he blindsided me by appearing behind me from the balcony.

What you're saying is your friend won't play a game that they're not immediately good at.
Ok.
That's one thing.
But anyone would get annoyed with this game after going up against a Doctor like the one described by the OP.
It is not fun for newbies to be going up against killers like that. And BHVR does need to pamper new player (both killers and survivors) a little if they really want the game to grow. That pampering doesn't need to be unfair; just making sure that 0-Devotion players only get matches against 0-devotion players is a huge step.
SWF players with a newb and a vet (which is what you're looking at if longtime fans are trying to convert their friends to playing this game) are an issue though and I'm not sure how to resolve that conundrum.

Indeed it did! I've gotten a few on Steve, Nancy and Feng. Am actually thinking of going full Plunder Build to farm more of them. This addon is the awesome sauce.
I hope the Devs consider making it auto spawn on green keys in chests if the Survivor has Ace in the Hole. There is nothing worse for a Treasure Hunter than the feeling of seeing a beautiful key in the chest, only for it to turn out Broken.

Anyone know for sure? I hope Masantonio can test it heheh. In the meantime I will enjoy broadcasting my location to fellow survivors while keeping tabs on them with my Bond.

Selfcare is way slower than digging through and using a green medkit besides it'sgreat for plundering builds and depending on the medkit you bring you can get more uses.
It's actually bad for plundering builds. Plunder builds are best used for fishing keys and other more awesome stuff. Pharmacy nerfs your plunder by turning your 3 chances to get an awesome item into 2 chances.

Im for one is not Biased toward both sides.Which I can understand that it is frustrating for solo survivors to get lobby dodge however I cant say I can understand as an swf since I only play solo survivor and killer. However I will say that it impacts killers more since killers have to wait a long period of time just to start a lobby. Solo survivors can just que back up and in secs just go right back into a lobby with ez while killers are force to wait long time as you see in this video here
The fact that you are force to hope that person does not try to do it again or you leave lobby and have to wait even longer for another lobby since the survivor will try and leave in the middle of the loading screen.
Both sides needs to stop in my honest opinion so games can move on and no one get rip off.
Both sides need to stop, but it's going to continue happening for as long as tehre are glaring and bad game design choices in this game, like instadown add-ons, moris, SWF inequity and other nonsense.
Bad game design mechanics like this are what cause people to DC, and survivors actually have it a lot worse because the bad mechanics are a lot more punishing towards survivors than they are for killers. Both sides have to deal with bad mechanics and all of those need to be looked at by BHVR, but Survivors have it worse because the mechanics punish them hard and often prevent them from even playing -- surely you've played a game where the survivor got caught and hooked within the first minute and just died and couldn't even play either due to bad teammates or a camping-tunneling killer. Killers can talk about how stressful it is to see gens popping left and right while they are getting looped, but that is seriously better than not being allowed to play at all.
THAT is the reason why Killers need to wait so long for lobbies, because playing Survivor can be a real pain.
Until these bad game mechanics are addressed the survivor population will continue to dwindle and that will result in worse lobby times for killers.
And I want to reiterate that even if I am survivor main, I recognize that there are problematic mechanics for both sides.

@Blueberry said:
Game bugs, sure I get that.
However most those matches there was nothing wrong with.
Slugging is a viable and very often times needed strategy.
You killed yourself to give hatch, that isn't considered a very sportsmanlike move to the killer and trying to steal his 4k. He was simply playing the game in the way you started. Also, if you got stuck into that long of a match because of being 3 gen'd then that was all yalls mistake of not paying attention to what gens were being done.
Not wanting to play because of bugs is fair but everything else is throwing a fit and not learning from mistakes.
It's sad that unfun mechanics are "correct and viable and needed."
That is the point the OP is trying to make. This game allows and even encourages too many stupid and unfun gameplay styles and mechancis that aren't doing it any favors with new players.
Doctor is one of the worst killers in the game to go up against because he just makes everything play badly for survivors.

I think this is true.
I've had some survivors shake me easily by running one direction for a moment when they think I've started phasing, and then quickly turn around to retrace their steps while walking. My dumbface phases outside the range to hear their grunts of pain, then quickly realizes there are no more tracks to follow, and no grass is moving. So, I cancel the power, and scan for them just to realize that Whispers isn't even lit up anymore.
You can actually see who the novices are by what they post.
It's very clear you're a bit of a novice who doesn't know how to play killer very well.
