  • These are the perks I recommend for slowing down the game:

    • Self Care
    • Saboteur
    • Urban Evasion
    • Plunderer's Instinct
    • Camaraderie
    • Left Behind
    • Small Game

    Well you ain't wrong...

Sabotage WAS extremly powerful...sp much so that they had to nerf it tonthe ground. Then the devs realized they made a mistake and tried to balance it a bit, making sabotage reach a "meh" lvl of usefulness.

Imo tho it's probably one of the hardest perk to balance just bc it has the potential to be OP extremly quick.

The only buff I want to sabotage at this point, is for the perk to let you see all hook auras (or all hook auras in a certain radius). That's it. I don't really need anything else for it. Maybe lengthen the time the hook is broken just a little, but not necessary. Nice to have, but could easily become OP.

  • Stealth is also good against Nurse.

  • It's definitely not popular. It doesn't win games. But man is it fun to do.

And killers tend to go ballistc when you do it, and you know you're going to get tunneled and face camped for the rest of the game hahaha.

  • Not a single request I made since last year has been granted.

*** EDIT oh wait you are referring to Technical Support and not Suggestions.

  • @MegsAreEvil said:

Stealthy doesnt reward you much bloodpoints nor any emblem points to rank up.

Which is actually good! Who wants to rank up, it's miserable up there in the red ranks.

  • Note that you don't need stealth perks to be stealthy.

For my first 500 hours of DBD I was playing full stealth. I used all the stealth perks. But that experience taught me how to stealth.

These days I barely run stealth perks. I just run stupid crap for fun. And I can still stealth almost as good as I did when I was running full Iron Will, Urban Evasion and Spine Chill.

That said, it's hard to switch from stealth to aggressive. The reason being: when you go for stealth, you have to go all in. And when you go for looping, you also need to go all in.

For instance, if you try to stealth, that means staying still and trying to "pass" the killer without him noticing you. A looper upon spotting the killer will break into a dead sprint to keep distance; distance is crucial for a looper to loop the killer. A stealth player on the other hand will stay still and keep out of sight; sometimes right under the killer's nose. (This is why Urban Evasion is so important to stealth players). But if the killer sees you at this point, you're screwed since you don't have any distance between you and the killer. You will get hit.

So early on when you encounter the killer, you have to decide: are you going to stealth or loop? You can't do both at the same time. You can switch between both styles in between encounters with the killer, but you can't change halfway in.

Looping basically means you're going all in on distracting the opponent so your teammates can get work done.

Stealthing means you're going to avoid the killer altogether. You won't be wasting his time, he won't even know you're there. So either you will be the one doing gens and pass off the killer to another teammate, or you are by an objective and you keep working on it, when killer passes by he will kick the gen and look for you. In which case you need to keep hidden and waste his time searching while you avoid detection. Then go back to gen, lather, rinse repeat. It is possible to waste a killer's time a lot in this fashion while getting work done on the gen in little increments.

Both methods are effective but both are difficult to pull off in their own ways. Stealth is by far much harder to do because stealth has been nerfed extremely in the past couple of years, and requires a lot of proper anticipation and mindgaming. One mistake and it's over. Savvy killers know all the tricks and there's not much more you can do but hope they guess wrong.

  • I would only agree to that nonsense if NoEd also becomes an obsession perk that only affects the Obsession.

  • An Agressive Stealthy style is best.

Aggressive players actively taunt the killer, even use OoO, and want to be chased the entire match. Ideally if the survivor is good enough to loop the killer the entire match this is ok. But this kind of skilled player is quite rare. There aren't many players who can loop a killer for an entire five minutes while his teammates finish all the gens.

Chances are you'll go down after a minute or so and your heroics end there.

Stealthy players on the other hand just tend not to be productive. They are too careful and "immersed" so they avoid danger and risk, and don't do much Gen work.

This is far from ideal, though it can be fun to play. But it usually results in poor performance.

The ideal style in my opinion is the stealthy Agressive. Player. Stealth when needed to avoid the killer, but smart enough to know when to play aggressive to get things done. This style uses game sense and perks to know when it's dangerous and stealth is needed, and when it's safe to run around and aggressively work on gens and other objectives like totems and saves. And when ######### hits the fan, knows how to aggressively loop and juke.

  • Last night for about an hour I was taking 2 minutes to get survivor lobbies. This was in purple as I was purple at the time. But after an hour it went back to normal and I was getting lobbies in 5 seconds again.

  • This is wrong. The core survivor actions are Repair, Vault, and Butt Dance.

Does prestige even have a large impact on which addons you get?

    No impact whatsoever.

There are people who pay real money for skins.

All I'm doing is using excess game currency to get them. It's not like I have a use for Bloodpoints. You're still a baby in this game obviously so you won't understand until you've had a thousand or so hours under your belt.

  • I have nothing better to do. I could start prestiging killers, but I'm a Survivor Main.

  • It cuz she abused Jonathan. Heheh.

  • Juking is hard in red, it really is. I think I only have like a 10% juke rate in Red. It's hard.

  • I prestige my survivors. I currently have five P3 survivors -- Feng, Kate, Claudette, David, Dwight. Next up is Steve.

Thank you for your feedback. I will try that. I guess if I’m going to run no mither I need to run iron will.

The build I used back then was Iron Will, No Mither, Resilience and Spine Chill.

Don't take risks, if spine chill lights up run and go to the next Gen. Always keep busy can't afford to waste time, but play it safe.

I'm actually in red again right now on PC. I'll try using Fixated into the build.

I'm actually not using my mian I'm using Dwight since I'm prestiging him to p3, using up all his p2 junk before I p3 him. I got back into red just this morning. My build is currently a mess, level 1 Inner Strength, BT, Unbreakable 2 and Auto Didacy 3. But somehow I'm doing fine. I guess all that looping paid off. I can at least survive in Red.

Like everyone else I hate playing in red, everyone is so sweaty and meta, it's no fun.

  • There is actually something you can try.

What I did was up my stealth game to immersion level but only to avoid the killer early. Spine Chill is a must. Then I run no Mither and resilience and rely on my team to loop while I do gens.

I also worked on my juke game. You also need to prep for spirit and nurse. Though in your case I think just spirit? Since you're on PS4.

It's. Not super consistent though so I never reached rank 1.

  • I ran into this exact same hurdle like half a year ago. Stealth can take you to red but it doesn't work in Red. The killers are too savvy to be fooled by stealth. You need to learn loops.

Killers at this level are also very strategic. They know the weak link - - you. If the game is not going in their favor they will tunnel you to get momentum back.

Nothing to be done but learn to loup.

  • I use Steve to smuggle purple and pink keys into the match. Killer doesn't notice.

  • Asian PC for me. Hong Kong region.

  • For the record, my survivor lobbies are back to 5 seconds so I'm a happy camper.

Killer lobby still 5 minutes. So matchmaking did nothing for me.

Seems it was just the time of day I guess. Asian killers must have been asleep.

  • It's bad to be in higher ranks because people who are actually there tend to be really sweaty on both sides.

  • It's bad to be in higher ranks because people who are actually there tend to be really sweaty on both sides.

  • I wonder how fast it opens if yiu have wakeup, resilience and spine hill with a Dwight nearby using Leader.

  • Maybe I should start using Wake Up now!

  • Most: Legion. It's a stab fest every time and everyone is running around lke headless chickens. It's crazy mindless fun and usually everyone escapes everyone scores 20k BP even Legion.

Least: Wraith. When he gets up in the morning he sets up Camp... a week before you are on the hook. And he tunnels like crazy. Against most Wraith players once you are caught you are dead eventually. He's not leaving the hook and he's not gonna chase anyone else, and it's impossible to lose him. So it's just a question of how long you can loop him until the gates open.

Sounds like a lot of lobby time. 😑

Not every good play is on a streaming service.

LOL I wrote my response in good faith, now re-reading it I realize it was sarcasm.

Now I feel dumb, someone just kill me. Preferably nurse.

And this just underlines how gamers today have become such sheep, they think the only way to play a game is how their favorite streamer does it. Their word is law, if they say it isn't possible it isn't. If they say black is white, the sheep believe.

  • Deranking has been encouraged ever since they introduced the emblem system. Nothing new here.

But the lobby time increase is a mess.

  • Let's also fix No Mither so killer doesn't know I am packing it.

  • I don't twitch or stream.

I'd like to show how it's done, but I am clueless at streaming hahah. I don't have NVidia Shadow and my PC is a little clunky so I don't enable stuff like that to get better framerates.

I can explain it a bit, but there are two different kinds of maneuvers you do against Nurse: the juke and the dodge.

Juking means throwing the opponent off your trail so you can lose him. This is way to disengage from the chase. This is easiest to do in jungle gyms and similar places with lots of high obstacles and multiple paths. You can also do in in the tall corn and Yamaoka estate but it's harder. Same basic concept as juking any killer -- you run around the obstacles over and over, going to the sides or the middle, guessing where the killer will follow. Then when you've put some distance you either slink away or run fast in a blind side area.

Perks that help a lot in juking are: Iron Will, No Mither, Fixated and Urban Evasion

It's easier to do against Nurse because Nurse's power disorients here and makes her fly around. So if she guesses what way you went wrong, she puts a lot of distance between you and her and basically does your job for you. She is by far the easiest killer to juke and many jukes that don't work on other killers work on her. Most other killers are harder to juke because they are focused on walking right after you.

The best time to go for the juke is right after she finishes her blinks, when she cries out after stunning herself. When you hear that sound that's when you make your move and go for the disengage.

Usually though before you can juke you need to dodge her around and frustrate her a bit. Especially if you are in an open and "unsafe" area.

Dodging basically means doing feints to mess with her prediction when she tries to blink attack you. This is something unique to nurse as no other killer lets you dodge in this manner. The idea is to run in one direction, then as you hear her charging her power you change direction, preferably behind an obstacle.

For dodging generally you want thin obstacles around you. You don't need palettes and you don't need perks. Trees like the one on the Autohaven Garage map are ideal. These are great because even if she can see you, you can quickly dodge behind a tree after she does her blink, and then when she lands to deliver her strike you are right behind the obstacle, and her attack hits the tree or obstacle and not you. Nurses get easily frustrated when this happens, lesser skill ones get rattled and then you can just easily do it over and over until you get to terrain that lets you juke.

Skilled nurses keep their calm and will eventually pick up on your movements, so it won't last long and you need to find a juke area quick.

I'm sorry I wish I had a video to show you how it's done, but I don't have streaming and recording set up on my laptop. But that should explain the general idea to you.

  • That Ultra Rare I would pay money to see. LOL

  • I'm just Prestiging Steve all the way with all perks when Blood Hunt hits.

If I have any leftover then I'll finish prestiging Dwight and Kate.

If I still have any left after that maybe I'll actually raise a killer to P1. Hahaha.

  • Someone with a Leatherface avatar posted the fix. Look it up should be on 2nd page or 3rd page at most.

  • Nothing. I'm happy with everything I bought.

Keep in mind that addons Play a big role in juking a nurse. Even a mediocre Nurse will catch with multiple blink addons and even a nurse who misjudged hee 1St blink will catch up again with the 2nd blink when range addons are used.

Rarely Nurse players will play without addons, so it might "mud" the reality of Nurse having no counterplay.

Don't get me wrong, sometimes you just can't do anything in certain situations. But the same applies with Trapper who places a trap at the only pallet/window you can reach in that area whole being injured: the chase is over, no matter what.

But I can see where people are coming from. Sometimes you can read a nurse like a book and other times you can't even react with dead hard because she blinks and attacks so fast that you haven't see that coming and it feels weird. So I can understand why people see Nurse as unbalanced.

However, I personally can deal with most BASEKIT Nurse players as long as my team mates aren't rank 20s.

Yeah if it's basekit it's relatively easy. Only the really good nurses give me fits if she doesn't have addons.

You can play around three blinks. Four and five blinks is just stupid.

Three blinks is doable. Harder, but doable.

Four or Five blinks cannot be evaded unless the nurse is an idiot.

  • It's still nowhere as bad as the 10-minute queues I used to suffer as killer a year or so back, at least.

  • Every killer would have a problem against 3000+ Hour SWF Survivor teams....

  • All killers are viable. There's just a lot of people drinking the streamer Kool Aid that only The Big Three are viable.

  • Nurse has counterplay, but a lot of it depends on the skill level of the nurse. I can juke and evade low level nurses all game long depending on the terrain.

Green to purple doable, depends on the player. I have also juked red nurses before.

It really depends. There's a certain point where you can't evade or juke nurse because they won't fall for your feints and mindgames.

The best maps to screw around with nurse are the ones with lots of obstacles. Wooded areas with lots of trees in Autohaven Wreckers for instance is the ideal spot. If the nurse isn't at my skill level I can evade her forever. If she's smart she'll stop using her power and M1 me, and I down quick because I suck at looping.

For juking to evasion the best spots are jungle gyms.

    @Mr_K said:

As a Nurse main, I've gone against survivors more than capable of wasting my time. Playing against a Nurse requires skills greater than running left or right around objects. Map knowledge, movement, blink distance to time, and reading your opponent's moves. Skills that reflect true skill. Not this merry go round with other killers.

You survivor need to realize the power role is not on the killer side.

Strangely enough, I find it easy to run Nurse around, but I suck at looping.

Naturally, the really good nurses can beat me, but a lot of nurses aren't that good and can be at least juked and evaded once or twice before they catch on to what I'm doing.

  • Wow that is some hardcore cheating.

  • Seems to be the case. Same for me. This unbearable 2-3 minute survivor wait is killing my buzz. I sympathize with killers, but there's a reason I became a Survivor main (everythign to do with queue time).

As always it seems your mileage may vary depending on your region.

If this is still the case tomorrow it means BHVR screwed up big time.

It also means my long-running thesis that there is a survivor shortage is wrong. Heheheh!

  • I approve of this thread.

Just stay broken and cleanse after all the gens have been powered. She’s literally useless as an M1 killer. If you go down, you go down. Better to go down from her swinging at you than for her to puke and knock you from 40 meters away

I don't get why people are so afraid of corrupt purge.

Corrupt purge is strong but it's not impossible to deal with. It is dodgeable, same as Huntress hatchets, and actually in some cases is easier to dodge. Huntress can hit you over hedges. Corrupt Purge can't. You can crouch and you'll never be hit.

Just because it counters looping doesn't mean it's something to be scared of. Nurse counters looping but she is easily juked. Corrupt Purge counters looping but it can be dodged and also juked, not as easily as nurse but doable.

  • @FrenziedRoach said:

You think corrupted purge is unfair....

Oh you poor deluded soul. You haven't met a huntress with iridescent hatchets and na Eboni Mori yet....

Equating addons and offerings to killer power = does not compute

  • This bug happens to me every now and then, haven't been blocked from the exit yet but not being able to wiggle is bad. Fortunately killers don't abuse and bring you to the basement.

Not being able to heal is worse though.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

I felt like the last couple of days that 2 gens we’re getting done by the time I could get 1 survivor hooked.

Then yesterday I played some games as Doctor again without ruin where i was able to patrol gens / apply pressure and get one or more hooks faster.

I dunno. Maybe it’s because sometimes us killers go up against coordinated SWF vs non-SWF.

It is precisely this -- if you go up against better survivors they can outplay you. In this case you need to step up your game and apply pressure on them more. This game is a big strategic game of skill. The players with better skills who outplay their opponents get the advantage.
