I thought same thing while reading this. I need to see someone do this. 😂
Sole is maybe the sole (hah!) perk that's harder to exploit, but in combo with others...
-
@Waffleyumboy said:
I haven't seen people use exploits with any perks besides that exhaustion perk bug.
Oh, I rather meant 'exploit' in the sense of 'not using it as intended to gain an unfair advantage'
-
I think when two-three gens pop before Corrupt Intervention runs out something's amiss

I was thinking, 30 seconds normally, 2x slowdown when in chase, so assuming you get downed at 50 seconds and you were chased off hook, it would last 55 seconds total.
I feel like this would also reduce the need to program a bunch of requirements like the perk deactivating when on a gen.
it would take approximated the same amount of programming i think.
It'd be checking if DS is active and an activity is undertaken, which would deactivate ds

@Freki said:
You all are funny thinking that DS is a balanced perk. it is not. They did make the stun 3 seconds, enduring countered that so they increased the stun and then nerfed enduring to not do anything more with that stun. like it was said. i've seen people get off of hooks, stay injured and work on gens, when the killer patrols back they loudly get into a locker and the killer comes, grabs the locker and ds triggers. I have seen this happen to streamers who didn't tunnel, didn't even go back to the hook after the unhook, kept hooking other people and everything. DS needs a down side, and the timer is not a downside. not at 1 minute for rank 3. I have literally hooked three other people and still gotten ds'd that's three other people that had not been hooked before and then the DS hit me. why? because I was too efficient as a killer that time. I've seen people that are rank 8 using it to bully the lower level killers with it.... locker play should shut ds down. generator work should shut ds down. totem cleanse shut ds down. vaulting a window or pallet, should NOT shut DS down. the key is, if you jump on an objective or in a locker ds should not trigger. If i think someone has ds and they jump in a locker i'll drop a bear trap down infront of it and leave it be but that's if i'm playing trapper.
this is exactly what I wanted to say. thank you.
-
Are you going to buy me a new comp then? Cause I'd like to continue playing, but I can only do so on low.

No of course you're allowed to. I don't make a habit of telling people how they can and can't play. But then if you pick them up and get hit by DS instead of going after 3 other people, is that not the fault of the killer player in that situation? That was my only point.
It's weird how many of Laurie's perks are so easily exploitable...
-
@RakimSockem said:
So you not only want to be able to carry for extra distance which is a hard counter to hook sabotage and body blocking, but then you want the perk to ALSO counter 1 specific perk that wouldn't get used if you went after the 3 other people on the map?
Your argument would sound less silly if I hadn't seen DS used regardless of how I play my killers. Or are you saying that when I play killer I am not allowed anymore to hit a survivor who just got unhooked and ran into me face first (i wasn't going after them)
-
If the killer gets stuck, i think they can only DC (though I've seen killers walk freely over the spot)
But yeah, as surv I think the only thing you can do is hope to get picked up. And, tbh: We should all be in agreement that not letting a survivor wiggle free after this is bug abuse.
(Note: Deathslinger's speargun can NOT drag you out. he has to knock you down and pick you up)

@heilong79 said:
Just make them totems for Mori and keys should take time to open, maybe 5 seconds, another idea is that Mori only lets you kill 2 survivors.
Eh, I think making them totems or take that long would break them more.
-
They might have altered/shifted the model. not necessarily intentionally, causing holes
I mean, there are a couple of model/animation changes (like the killer's walking animations) that don't seem to have been planned
-
It means synching went wonky, disconnecting you from the game.
-
Is it bad I thought for a moment the new killer will be Velocipastor based on this?
-
If it is a new map, I'm hoping for a graveyard... with the names and 'deathdates' of the various characters on the stones. it'd be a cool way to pin down an official timeline
-
NOTE:
They option is greyed out when you are on the survivor/killer screen/lobby. You opt out in the main menu.

@Nicholas said:
I love your idea, and the only thing I would add to it is that I want to see every Survivor and every killer get a themed outfit. I think it'd be cool to play with friends and for everyone to run the same set.
exactly my train of thought.
And, sure, it'd be more work on the design teams end, but honestly? I think more people would buy full packs than single outfits.
-
Anyone gonna post that bit from The Simpsons? With that joke?
-
Voted Jekyll&Hyde, but... it could be a combo of 1 and that...
I mean, ch 17 will be the halloween event chapter, right?

I would love to see some for Crotus Prenn, but only concern is that they sometimes want to have cosmetics based off of maps that are getting some hype. Like reworked maps for instance. It could happen though since graphical updates are coming through. Any specific characters you would want to get these cosmetics?
Continuing with the idea for Glenvale cosmetics: Mostly Kate, Claudette, Jane, Meg, Jeff, Jake and Dwight here on the survivor side.
Maybe stuff like Snake Oil salesman for the Doctor or Clown, or a 'proper' Trapper outfit for Trapper. Caleb could lend Anna one of his dusters with a coyote mask.
I'd honestly by this if it was a full set of cosmetics (like the suitcases back when)
-
Also, food for thought:
A Hellshire map could have it that opening the gates would blast them open.

What about the aura reading abilities of the keys and it's other addons?
I have a thread somewhere about reworking charms to have them do something. The aura reading could be put on that maybe?
-
@SCP_FOR_DBD said:
I think this could be cool, really depends on how much the aggravation counter can take though.
Yeah. I mean, would it make sense to give a counter for 'wasting' pallets and the chain-vaulting to cause explosions to distract the killer/prevent them from hearing sounds nearby? (Personally I reckon that might prevent a lot of toxic behaviour, cause, imagine the killer could mori you the moment they find you cause you've been vaulting excessively before the first gen even popped)
-
Whoever pitched them up against each other would lose.
Caleb might know enough russian to get some things across, and anna might take more joy out of teaming up with caleb against someone expecting her to hunt so shoddily.
-
@ Antares2332 said:
I like the idea but if the killer can see a notification of the key, it is a bit OP
Maybe if the key isn't visible. So, just a notification that someone has a key, but not whom, and the killer wouldn't know till the hatch either opens or the person is hooked?
-
Love: Glenvale
Okay: All the Corn maps (usually for the meme song of our discord server)
Hate: The game. Is2g the stairs are placed at random too
-
If it's more like
separate nod and headshaking, shrugging (and exhausted shrugging) and disappointed headtilt (especially for killers)
then yeah. but not as cosmetics.
-
Had one today as well.
Everyone had red pings (one of the signs the killer is using hacks (though not always)), the killer knew exactly where we were despite not running any perks for that, and he moved faster than he should (again, no perks for that, no addons)
-
where do you check it?

It's your ID by going into the main menu of the game and selecting settings. Your ID will be in the bottom left of the screen.
yes, but to take you as example, would I enter
patate #767d
or just
#767d?
-
How to enter the id?
is it a name number combo like on discord or just the number/letter thing?

True. Proximity chat would be nice, kinda like ft13th.
with a proper filter this could get interesting... like, imagine you'd have survivors that would want to insult you that way and if the filter catches their thinly veiled slurs and insults often enough the entity takes them directly with no BP :D

Auto haven actually. And sure I could see him thinking that. Not what happened. Hell o even saw the person going to pick him up and nodded at them as I went for someone on a gen who hooked. I'm still not mad! I have to add that to my replies now because some sour crumpet om here thinks my feeling are hurt and she wont go away!!! I think she is stalking me.
i think what we can agree on is that there's far too few ways to communicate ingame.

Just got done with a match. At the start I found a survivor (Jeff) stuck on a hill due to the bug. I downed him and walked off. I could have hooked him. Should have hooked him too. But no, I showed respect to my fellow player. How was I repaid? With a gen rush of course. I eventually found the survivor, got a hit on him. Then gena were done by this point. He then proceeded to loop which was fine, make it fun. He then went towards the door where one of his teammates body blocked. Instead of leaving he flashlights me. And hels it there til he died then left.
I did nothing toxic at all. And that was spiteful. Not mad. I just no better now. No sympathy for survivors. This will be a classic case of one bad apple ruining the bunch.
He was stuck. (MacMillan map, I reckon?) you recognized he was stuck. what you should have done was pick him up, and either let him wiggle free while walking in small circles or dropping him a couple of times.
To him it probably looked as if you slugged him with no way of getting out and set out to slug the others, barring him from normal gameplay, actively abusing a bug there.

Sounds like me trying to learn Oni. Always decently higher ranking survivors and I get destroyed.
Yet somehow the Entity LOVES me playing Pig and I rarely have a bad game as her. Or Doctor and Legion.
I main Deathslinger. I'm not excellent with him, but I'm not too bad either. but today was just... cursed... so far
Good luck learning Oni <3

When you get C O R N S and your totems are literally in the field not even hidden in the corn.
I don't bother running hexes anymore tbh
I had matches with hexes on CORN where people managed (myself included) to miss totems and gens and hooks alike. As I said, the Entity hates our guts, survs and killers alike.

I like all hex build on him. Good practice and some nice plays if they decide to do bones. I can usually tell they hate me from being obsession back to back, giving me players that counter my build or giving me players that I can counter after I’ve removed a certain perk.
yeah, but how often do you get this gallimaufry of maps that seem out to actively counter your builds and abilities? XD

Mathematics has nothing to do with you being wrong.
Tag a Dev - See what they say.
you could have tagged them as well. what, scared i'm right?
Let's make this simple:
How long would a match take if you'd hook everyone after slugging them vs how long does it take if you let people bleed out/force them to disconnect because you just stand there?
-
these comments so far tell me that it'd actually be a damn good idea.

Nurse can still cut wood with her psychokinesis.
Yeah, but she's busy buzzing after survivors.
-
Look, ever since it messed with Billy and Bubba's chainsaws the Entity has no more means to actually cut wood into sensible sizes...

Despite the imaginary ruleset you're trying to impose, it is "regular gameplay," and has been confirmed as such by the developers several times.
no. slugging on itself has been confirmed as regular gameplay. this is slugging in early game and then barring further gameplay, actively dragging the game out unnecessarily.
don't make me do mathematics

Slugging is not bannable, devs have been saying it for a really long time
Slugging, yeah.
But when you slug everyone in the early game and then go away to let them bleed out, that's different. Because your intend is to bar them from regular gameplay while you also refuse to engage in it.
If you were to slug people in early game, THEN hook them regular (as in, don't wait for one to die and then hook the next) and one of them gets off the hook, that'd be regular albeit really gnasty playing.
-
And that, my friend, actually constitutes as 'refusing to engage in regular gameplay'.
-
Most of the games I had felt fair. Chaotic, but that's how I prefer it.

charms that do something to the game in the premium
Can you please explain what you mean by that? Animated charms? Or charms that actually have an effect on the game?
Charms that give actual boost to abilities. There's several 'bloat' perks out there that increase aura reading or tell you when someone's working on a totem. this kind of thing could be covered with a charm, making gameplay more interesting too. of course that would mean some active charms in the store and SoS and unlockable through playing too.
Like, you could get an aura improving charm if you managed to escape a number of matches without running any aura perks yourself.
-
Suggestion:
Plain charms in the free tiers, charms that do something to the game in the premium
-
also, aside from the matchmaking aspect, how do the following changes to perks and offerings sound to you people:
Lore Perks & Additional perks:
In addition to restricting teachables, the perk pool gets a complete overhaul: Each character now has three 'lore' slots' and two or three additional (updating the number of perks to 6) lore slots are perks that they should know going by their lore or be able to learn given their lore/personality, and additional perks.
Separate Map and other offerings:
Two slots now, one for a map offering, one for an additional one.
