I'm on PS4.Had to log out (Solo survivor) because I've never experienced the lag/freezing etc in this game until now.
It is unplayable atm for me
The freezing/lag/crashes are just out of hand.
I've been playing other games and focusing on other things until they iron out this patch.

No,this is actually the perfect way to introduce RE fans to the game.
Shows them what to expect from it and BHVR
Good point!

Actually, if you've been around a while, you might misunderstand. DS was finetuned to fulfill its purpose more precisely.
Period.

This is one of the most important updates in the games history, even bigger than silent hill and they ######### it.
Their priority should have been matchmaking and stability, not skins they could have come later.
Yup, but what a surprise right? Geez when will BHVR actually listen to our feedback. Oh but we got 300k bp so I guess we have to forgive them now smh.

You clearly don't play on console.
The console experience, if you can't tell by now, is absolutely miserable.
No joke, the least optimized game I have ever played in my life.
True.
The experience is just so sad. C'mon BVHR, 5 years and we're still suffering.
-
Interesting! As a twins main I can see these being quite viable especially the reuniting aspect with Victor jumping back to Charlotte. People keep underestimating how powerful it can be to have both together sometimes hehe...
I've also been hoping to make Victor latching onto survivors a bit more lethal such as the following:
- Removing Victor now takes 10 seconds from 8 seconds (same as locker removing time)
- Survivors can no longer run while removing him, but walking and standing still is available
This will hopefully make Victor latched onto survivors more viable and somewhat oppressive because as of rn, there's very little benefit onto latching to survivors in certain scenarios. It'll give a bit more room for other strategies while keeping slugging a powerful tool for them.
-
I'd like more uniqueness to survivors. The characters in this game are the sole reason why I continue to play.
-
I've been hoping for this change. I just have some curse on me with killers, like yesterday a rank 1 killer hardcore tunneled me and messaged "EZ noob haha first one to die". Like c'mon now really?
With the new restrictions put onto it, I really see no harm into making it more efficient at what it does.

I really want to voice my thoughts on how strong Nemesis is, but because of the terrible frame skips, I can't. It skews the match results too much.
Yeah the frame drops are HORRIBLE. So much worse than usual. I played ONE killer game and I was like, nah bro. I switched back to survivor and two crashes in a row... this new year for the game is going SO great.

I would love to see the game running on frostbyte or some other engine.
Whats the point of getting new RE fans if this is what theyll experience? Theyll delete it off gamepass.
I would, its only that I am 800 hours in and have stockholm syndrome I dont. Many games on GP I download, dont like and delete
I honestly feel bad for the RE fans expecting a good time only to be met with this mess of an update...

Hi! Twins main here. I've found little-moderate usage out of the perk, but I don't see it becoming a huge thing for them considering the comment above me has already mentioned about Victor already applying Oblivious.
It sometimes gets some value if let's say you so happened to injure someone as Charlotte and the entire team is injured (pretty easy to do) so that's that I suppose. I think its a decent perk if you have a spare perk slot, but maybe not something that the Twins need considering Charlotte is so easy to spot.

This game is literally unplayable right now and I feel so bad for the people who have to currently deal with it. I just don't understand how BHVR screwed up so bad, like this is almost worse than a Binding of Kin.. if not worse?
My condolences to all of you out there. Just keep making your voices heard.

I really really wanted to have fun with this chapter but i just can't.
Frame drops EVERYWHERE all the time.
Completely killed my excitement
Yeah, this chapter made me so excited, but how can we play new content when the game doesn't even properly function.
The devs need to get their priorities straight ASAP bc this is so sad considering this IS the anniversary chapter smh.
-
To some degree... Idk if it's just me, but his lunge just seemed so much longer now after his speed boost which I have not been a fan of. I've never been a wraith fan either (as and against).
I just wish there was more detection (without perks) toward him now since he can get from point A to point B in a matter of seconds while stealth. As of rn, I think he's the best stealth killer imo since he can stealth + traverse so well.
-
I'm surprised (not really) how they continue to let these annoying bugs stay in the game... literally don't listen to feedback whatsoever.
-
As much of a fan I am for this game, this is the WORST optimized online multiplayer game I've ever played in my life.

It's a decent perk, but I still prefer detective's hunch since it affects more than just totems

If a killer lost a match because of a DS... Teammates should've defended their own.
You say you are a rank 1 killer - then you should know that sometimes tunneling is not a vile wish of a killer, it's a necessity. Sometimes it's not a scam tactic, it's the only way to put pressure on the game, because you need someone dead ASAP when they're not. Sometimes it's not a killer who purposefully tunnels, but a survivor who blindly and voluntarily runs into a killer. In the latter case a survivor (not a killer) is the one making mistakes, but is he punished for it? Nah, they get a free escape only because they can hit a skillcheck.
As I said before - you don't buff something that is already meta. Unless, of course, you nerf it at the same time, in order to compensate. If survivor gets an multiple-use anti-tunnel meta perk - it should shut off once they aren't the ones tunneled anymore (as in, once another survivor was downed or hooked, no matter if they did anything productive in that period or not). Just giving it 2 uses is simply giving survivors more tools to dominate the match. And giving it to the side, who already has numbers, is simply a bad design.
"Teammates should've defended their own" a hardcore tunneling killer can easily get around this. Your teammates can only do so much if a killer has their radar simply on you. Actually, a good killer can use this altruism to their advantage getting free hits/downs.
I assume I just have extremely bad luck because the killer always hunts me down after FIRST un-hook and spams "EZ EZ EZ" or "Get better LUL" after the match. I'm not joking, if I played 10 matches, I can guarantee at least 8 matches, I'll use DS after first un-hook because the killer decides to make a mad dash for me. Also, if a survivor does so happen to blindly run into the killer, then that killer should know that they can't provide any form of beneficial support to the team for 60 seconds so it's literally best to leave them on the ground OR ignore them because if you continue to go after them, that killer is giving everyone else a free ticket to do gens, heal, totems, etc.
As for your killer claim mmm I rarely ever see myself having to tunnel because I had to... sure I may slug one person every now and then, but if you play smart and know how each survivor plays, tunneling should be the last resort.
-
Yes! It serves as an anti-tunnel perk so it should work every time you get tunneled.

This trolling isn't even amusing.
-------------------------------------------------------
The only reason why DS shouldn't be used more than once is because it's a huge time-waster and one of the only survivor perks in the game, which quite literally can make the killer lose the whole match by one single use of it. You don't buff something that is already meta af. There is a reason for why you can use Unbreakable only once per game and why Lucky Break effect isn't permanent. Same goes for DS.
If a killer lost a match because of a DS... they shouldn't have tunneled.
The perk got gutted into becoming a true anti-tunnel perk, but if a killer claims that they lost "too much" or the entire match, they shouldn't have been greedy for that person because THAT person can not do anything productive for the next 60 seconds. However, if the killer decides to HARDCORE tunnel which has happened countless times, the perk should continue to work. Let it do the only thing it does... Borrowed time is designed to punish campers, but it works multiple times. Why? Because it serves one function just like DS. As for UB, it has a secondary effect that can pose as a good strength after the perk has been used.
If a survivor wasn't able to use it after first unhook, then they have a second chance after second unhook, cool. But if the perk managed to work after first unhook, then the killer has more incentive to tunnel you after second unhook because they know that the survivor already used their DS. The perk no longer grants survivors safety while being productive so why can't it be more effective at the one thing it does?
I play killer at rank 1 and rarely ever see that in use. Why? Because I don't want to make someone's experience miserable so I never tunnel. I want them to have a chance of playing the match. If you don't tunnel as a killer, then the perk does not do anything.

I keep getting tunneled simply for looping the killer. This rank reset is something else, i got face camped 8 times today by nemesis. And im rank 11. Let that sink in.
Yeah I managed to use DS against all the nemesis I've faced today while also getting camped too. We just love to see it.

This lagspike chaos is getting out of control. Can barely play the game

Idk i played on xbox for probably two devotion levels (got all teachables unlocked on every survivor and killer) and the only problem i had was playing killer with a joystick made you easy bait for 360s.
Idk what people are talking about when they say optimize for console?
Is just about better graphics?
I play on xbox too with over 3k hours and currently Devotion 12, but if you're not suffering from the bad console optimization, then consider yourself lucky!
It's not graphical updates that we care about, but rather the bad connections, horrible fps drops, and the NOTORIOUS lag spikes that always magically appears at the right timing... The game needs heavy polishing and connection refinement (for console)
-
I've been hoping for console optimization :(
Playing on console sometimes feels like a chore
-
I feel like the Left 4 Dead was easily overlooked so I'd like them to bring more L4D content.
It would be so cool if the cosmetics for Dwight, Claudette, Jake, and Meg that came with Bill would be legendary skins and literally transform those 4 into the L4D characters they were trying to replicate. I'd love that so much as Rochelle was one of my favorites from the L4D franchise.
-
@Caleegi said:
Yes they should let you mix and match before buying stuff, the amount of times i get stuff thinking they will go together and they look awful...
Same! I still remember times when I purchased certain cosmetics thinking they'd be good together, but they looked so bad when I attached them together.
-
The new legendary survivor portraits!
-
Twins! I've always liked the idea of multiple killers in a single match and the twins are close enough to that & I really enjoy tag-teaming them in specific situations.
-
Congratulations!!!
Bloody party streamers sound cool and maybe the wedding cake being an escape cake would fit for the DBD themed wedding! Congratulations once again!

I'm still surprised the Devs haven't addressed any major patches to try to optimize console to make us somewhat on par with the pc player base. I see some pc players raging over a single minor lag spike or slight fps drop on a match... oh boy, play on console, you'll have a blast ;)
-
The only killer that I haven't touched in over a year
-
As a twins main, it's just due to the way the twins were designed. I barely slug and actually try to get hooks in like every other killer, but the match becomes so much harder (for the killer player). That's why so many twins players slug and camp, because the "viable" options are limited.
I suggest buffing Charlotte so she's not a basic M1 killer, but nerfing Victor and toning his slugging capabilities so that both twins are somewhat close in power and making tag-team strategies a lot more appealing.
-
@GreyBigfoot said:
I really want a buff to Solidarity. I think making it 100% would be my preferred one because you still need to:
- be injured
- not use a medkit
- be the first to heal the other instead of them healing you
I don't think it would be too OP, and seeing more than the same 10 perks every game would be great. At the very least, Solidarity will have a synergy with Jill's upcoming new perk, Resurgence.
Agreed, making it a 1 to 1 ratio would make it a lot more appealing to use. We need more perks to be viable in red ranks so the meta can be shaken up.
-
I play twins a lot (my main), but playing them on console is an experience that is, to say the least, interesting... so I've been playing other killers like Demo a lot too.
Note: Playing Victor on console is so buggy and drops your frames so hard OML. Especially the lagspikes, oh my goodness. Charlotte too, I don't know why.
-
The recent ones have really shown the music team's talent, but I do miss the winter theme :(
-
Idk about people complaining of Yun-Jin/Elodie's screams. They sound pretty good to me.
But as for me, Bubba's chainsaw or Freddy's laugh make my skin crawl
-
Charlotte's weapon looks the coolest to me.
-
Yes. Most cosmetics are definitely worth less than their actual cost, but then again, the more skins you buy, the more "skin combos" you can make so you're technically buying more than just "one skin" when you do buy one assuming you have several skins for that one character already. I still agree though, this game is quite costly when it comes to cosmetics.
-
Charlotte :)

Because it’s a long standing horror cliche.
Do you understand the cultural references that lead to the birth of DBD?
Those maps in particular are just outdated. If anything, the basements in all of the maps appeal more of a horror cliche than those 3. I don't know anyone who "enjoys" playing on them. The reworks for them were also disappointing, I would've expected more from shelter woods and the main tree, but nope just a huge dead-zone.
-
Console optimization would also be good too. It's hard enough to play the latest killers Blight, Twins, and Trickster with the awful frame rates and lagspikes. I would like to play Nemisis, but if charging that tentacle is going to cause daily issues, not surprised.

3 original realms with no main building map (Shelfter wood, wreck yard, rot field) should be deleted.
Those are basically the same map with different environment
Literally, who thought oh yeah a killer shack with just corn around it was a good idea... I dislike those maps so much.

Yeah thats kinda how the game sometimes works, there's almost nothing you can do about it unless you're playing on a well-coordinated swf.
Tbh, try not to give any attention to the rank system or pips in general, bc it's not even a good system to begin with. There's too many flaws with it so I really don't care about it at all.
