I'd be so happy if they did that.

Home Sweet Home has a sticker wheel and ping system to communicate. DbD just need some simple stuff like "Working on a gen", "Going for save", "Killer camping" etc

Scott did a video about this and it was pretty good

Same here. It'd make playing solo que or with randoms so much easier.

  • Oh yes the easter clown.

Whenever I see that skin in game, I just say "Oh Cluck it's him", "Cluck you", "Cluckity Cluck gotta go"

Freddy is getting nerfed because Freddy is as mindless as they come and way too strong.

He has no counterplay beyond predropping pallets and holding W, which is awful, he has a very simple and easy traversal power, and he synergizes with literally every slowdown perk quite well.

    This 100%.

  • Pretty sure the devs mentioned that he will receive some upcoming changes.

If anything, the changes are most likely going to make his power a bit harder to use since his power is quite easy to learn and use.

  • Yeah I've noticed I've been loading into cold wind farm a lot lately, but I'm not complaining bc it's my favorite realm for both roles.

Dead dawg is up there too in terms of aesthetics and looks.

  • Yes please! As someone who likes different builds, that would be greatly appreciated!

Having a dressing room in the cosmetic store would also be nice so I can mix and match clothes that I haven't purchased yet. With all the cosmetics in the store, I'm surprised they haven't incorporated it yet.

I actually like what they’ve done with it but I’d make one change to it

Make it work on both hook stages even if used on the first. Why shouldn’t the killer be punished for tunnelling the same guy off both hooks?

Oh yes! I'd appreciate that! 👍️

It didn't say it did. Don't strawman me. What I'm saying is - if I can do it *so can you*. Experience means EVERYTHING, and supersedes your "NOED = OP" opinion. Get better at the game. If it's an issue for you, it's because you literally allowed it to be.

Don't know why you're so aggressive, but not surprised. I know how to play solo que, but it's not an enjoyable experience hence why I prefer swf (2-4 man) so much more.

You're trying to sugarcoat the issue of the solo que experience. I don't think NOED is OP at all, but most people keep forgetting solo que is 10x harder if the killer does so happen to bring NOED. Good for youuuu, if you don't find the experience miserable. Here's a medal and a cookie.

  • As much as I dislike getting camped down there, it should stay.

It also reminds me of those basements/deep areas in horror movies that strike fear in victims and is a challenge to get out of. Those scenes where the person who didn't get caught tries to sneak in and risk their life to save their friends are cool scenes.

I've been playing for nearly 6k hours. I play solo queue almost exclusively. I run small game, and rarely get hit with NOED.

    Try again.

Your experiences do not speak for the rest of the community. I'm glad that you don't have issues with solo que, but it's still a very common issue for most players.

  • Oh dear, I hope less hacking can occur in this game as it already has enough problems as is.

    @vindictive said:

Zarina can be depicted as Asian due to her Lebanese heritage. I'm no expert about other cultures, but apparently Lebanese people can be considered Asian if the person perceives the term "asian" in the geographical point of view as Lebanon is located in the levant region of western Asia.

Though some people don't count the Middle East as asian due to the culture, it rather lies on the person on how they perceive the term asian. Geographically or culturally. Or both :3

    what hate?

There is a lot of incidents that is happening (usually in the U.S) where asians and elders are being beat/robbed/and even murdered. The hate crimes are getting worse and it's quite saddening because statistics have shown that COVID has increased the hostility and racism toward the asian community.

So that is why I am here to bring awareness to this serious issue. BHVR has shown their support and are aware so I felt comfortable posting on the forums :)

  • These are really good advice for those who really need it! Please read them y'all, if you haven't already. As someone who has over 3k hours, having players knowing these tips would be greatly appreciated! :)

  • Yes I've noticed that killers who lunged are immune to the stun... sometimes even giving them a free hit since the pallet sometimes doesn't push them back.

  • Another killer main post about DS...

It just got obliterated. That's just a survivor trying to protect each other, there's something called altruism. The devs haven't incorporated a decent "protection" type of perk since forever. At this point, DS is no longer a free "objective pass" but now an anti-tunnel + altruistic perk.

If only Mettle of Man wasn't so bad/situational then we'd see it more.

  • @Midori_21 said:

You want a default obsession basekit because you don't want to have to run an obsession perk. Fine. I propose that since killers don't want to have to bring regression perks like ruin and pop, the devs should make generators regress on their own at basekit, so that there's more freedom on what killers can bring into a match. Sound good?

A tunneling killer will still tunnel anyways. Killers can STILL tunnel if they want to. Nobody is stopping them, but having obs. base-kit will help cover up those teams w/o obs. perks thus creating a risk the killer will have to take. A killer shouldn't be like "Haha this one team doesn't have any obs. perk, lemma just hook this Cheryl real quick even tho she got off the hook 5 seconds ago when there's literally 5/4 gens remaining"

If killer mains are so against this change, then I suppose swf's are going to be a lot more common now since solo que just got 10x harder.

  • @ilovedbd123 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2062856#Comment_2062856

If your team unhook you in there TR or don't take aggro then they are bad.

I've had quite a few games recently where survivors have learned to take agro because of this nerf. They now know that they need to play well and force the killer off the unhooked survivor in any way possible. Things such as following the killer and throwing pallets down for the injured survivor to give them time occur frequently in solo queue now.

I think this nerf has actually helped the game and players get better.

The obsession shouldn't be basekit, as much as bitter murmur shouldn't be basekit or any other information/ information remover. If you cannot handle being tunneled, then run it. Seriously. The rise in tunneling will mean people will take it. And the obsessions will be back.

Mark my words, it's not useless for its purpose and once people understand this they will use it again.

And it's as blatant as ( everyone know the killer doesn't have an instant down so they hook rush and stop the hook early which is key for the killer). That's also annoying. But it's a part of the game and the new perk will become meta (starstruck) because of that.

I play swf (2-4) daily whenever I play survivor and we're good enough so the first half doesn't apply to us, however it WILL on solo que players. You'll never know what they'll do nor what their perk set-ups are. You can never assume that they'll learn to do so something.

You state that the rise in tunneling will encourage more players to bring DS, but knowing this community, it may even bring back complaints toward DS again. DS isn't useless of course, but there isn't any harm into making the obs. base-kit at all. Tunneling killers will do it anyways, but by making obs. base-kit, it cover ups a team w/o DS so it'll give them a chance to maybe have fun if that killer decides to not tunnel.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2062835#Comment_2062835

I don't think that SWF is the true answer.

There were already ideas to make it easier for solos. Totem Counter for Small Game, global sound cue once all totems are done, or my favorite idea: altar in basement with 5 lit candles. Everytime a totem is cleansed one candle stops burning.

Otherwise it's game sense. With time you know the tiles and where totems are hidden. (Indoor maps are an exception to this).

Until the devs incorporate those ideas & yes that basement one was good, then swf (for me and many others) remains as the better/best solutions.

  • @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2062746#Comment_2062746

Or you can tell them to equip perks and/or items to help with that task, if they're having trouble.

That can work, but you never know what people will do. Whenever I play a duo swf with my friend, we'll be the only ones cleansing the totems. Swf is just a lot more reliable tbh. Well that's from my personal experience lol, nobody I pair up with wants to do bones.

  • @ilovedbd123 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2062709#Comment_2062709

Lots of things are mandatory due to the nature of the game.

Gen slowdown perks because ######### sucks and we need time to do stuff and apply pressure.

Tracking perks because of the occasional immersed blendette and because BBQ gives bp and we know how bad the grind is.

Chase perks to help when survivors loop you for 60s+.

All these things are required for killer.

So an anti-tunneling perk (a strategy that sometimes must be used due to the power differential between killers and survivors just base at high levels of play) to stop a killer doing a viable thing, which the devs have said is viable, is also necessary.

Also, I'm recently running for the people, and people tunnel anyway if they want to (happened to me for multiple games), so putting an obsession basekit wouldn't help if people want to tunnel (I've been obsession most these games). And putting Ds basekit would require a big change to survivor, whether that's increased gen times or something because against good players you need to tunnel the early bird out the game, so they need to give some compensation of some sort otherwise killers will leave.

Yes you have valid points and I can understand that, but the reason why I really want the obs. be base-kit is to prevent those killers from thinking they have a free "Tunnel Pass".

Yes killers can tunnel if they want/need to hence why there's no rule that it's not acceptable, but it's quite outrageous that a killer knows nobody has the simple counter to it so they'll blatantly do it at will even at 5/4 gens remaining. So if the obs. were to be base-kit, it would at least make the killer take a risk and not just "Nobody has DS, lemma just hook this Meg real quick even tho she got off the hook 10 seconds ago".

  • Hello! Sorry to hear that you're going through a hard point in your life! if ya ever wanna make new friends, I'm here! I do have Instagram as my other social platform. :)

  • @Xzan said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2062746#Comment_2062746

But how is it the killers fault if 3/4 people refuse to look for totems?

I never said it was the killer's fault if no one wants to do bones. In fact, I'm trying to say that it's the survivors' fault.

And thats why it feels like swf is just the answer to "do bones", but then that leads to another issue of the immense strength a swf can potentially have.

  • @OmegaXII said:

So you want to benefit from the perk (Prevent tunneling) despite not bringing it? No, i don't think so.

Unless they buff killer overall, they shouldn't do this.

A killer shouldn't receive a free "Tunnel pass" bc no one decided to bring an obs. perk. Of course they can still tunnel, but at a risk and that's why the obs should be base-kit. Running DS shouldn't be "required" just to have a chance to play the game and have fun. I do hope people realize tunneling really makes the match less fun.

Also the buff killer statement... mmm. The gap between solo que vs swf needs to decreased if you want killers to be buffed. Having obs. be base-kit would help solo groups (though its not a perfect change) and give them a fighting chance. A good 3/4-man swf doesn't have to worry all too much, but I'm worrying about those who play solo. This may encourage solo's to play swf more, but killers complain about that... and now an already big issue just got bigger. So I don't see why having obs. be base-kit would be bad. Killer's don't deserve a free "Tunnel pass". It's not fun nor healthy.

  • @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2062727#Comment_2062727

Which part is telling people to play SWF? It's literally just saying "If you see a totem, cleanse it". That doesn't require SWF.

Maybe my wording wasn't where I wanted it to be, but I'm trying to point out that solo que. will always be a struggle against a NOED. Even if you tell people to "do bones", there will always be people who don't give a flying fudge about totems...

So whenever people try to tell others to just "do bones", you might as well tell them to play on a swf.

  • This is just encouraging people to play on swf, but killers always complain about that... mmm :/

  • @Nos37 said:

In the meantime, see if you can squeeze Blood Pact, Sole Survivor, or For the People into your fun/gimmick builds to create an obsession

We occasionally do actually lol, Blood Pact is quite decent in a good swf group, but having the obs. be base-kit would just be a lot better.

  • @JimbusCrimbus said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2062614#Comment_2062614

Survivors blame killers when they get genrushed all the time. "Just apply pressure"

Better example - survivors blame killers for what DS used to do all the time. "Just don't tunnel" - even though it was rarely actually tunneling.

    Sucks, doesn't it?

    Just run DS.

I can understand what you're trying to say, but your examples are a bit off the rails compared to what I'm trying to address with the obsession base-kit.

Making DS seem mandatory is not ok. It should not be "required" to bring it every game. If people don't want to bring it, they have to pray that the rescuer has BT. If not, I guess it's the person's fault for not having DS.

Just make the obsession base-kit... it's a simple change and it would prevent the killer from having a free "tunnel ticket". The ex. you gave out have their ways to get through it. A bad killer will fail to apply pressure not a decent-good one unless the survivors went full-on camo mode in the beginning. DS prior to it's nerf can be nullified through slugging or just straight-up not going after them. Yes Unbreakble was a thing, but a good killer would RATHER want that unbreakable be used in the beginning-mid game instead of the endgame.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

I have basically dedicated my time on the forums to ranting about this ITS SO SIMPLE PLEASE!

Right?! It really is a simple change! I see no harm in adding it.

  • @JimbusCrimbus said:

DS is a perfectly balanced perk now. Why not just run it?

Because that's just blaming survivors for not bringing something that isn't mandatory. If someone doesn't want to bring it, they shouldn't be punished because they wanted to use another perk.

Also if 4 people (most likely solo que) decide to not bring it, the killer has open gates to tunnel every single one of them. This may encourage people to play swf more, but then killers are always complaining about that... so to make it simple, just make the obsession base-kit. I really see no harm in that.

  • @burt0r said:

The people are not "kind enough" (really this hilarious wording 😂), they simply think it is not worth to run it anymore.

Yeah they could implement obsessions for everygame independent of chosen perks but at some point the killer will know that nearly all survivor are "kind enough" by now that this placebo will lose its effect.

A solution for this would be to just equip ds like before since it mostly does the same while not giving complete freedom of choose how to use it. But oh all this "kindness" coming out now.

Sorry for getting hung up on your wording but damn. Btw not survivor exclusive, if killer perks would be changed and someone would word the dropping of the perk as benevolent kindness I would still rant like this.

So your "solution" is blaming survivors for NOT bringing something they don't really need to. Disclaimer: I play with friends with all of us being quite experienced (3k+ hours)

However we don't like running it because we'd rather run more "fun"/gimmicky perks to see how'd they play out, but I suppose it's our fault for not bringing DS or other meta perks... Of course we don't find tunneling as a major issue since there's 3 or 4 of us and we'd handle it, but does every tunneling always have to happen bc none of us brought DS?

Going back to OP post, if there IS an obsession every game, there is no way for the killer to really know if there IS a DS on one of the survivors... this would help any team where nobody brought any obs. perks. This would also be a step forward to reduce the gap between solo que. vs swf's.

  • @Yords said:

You lost me at BT needing a buff.

Like I said above... If making the obsession spawn every game is too much, at least make the other "solution" BT at least more viable.

  • @Tomskrex said:

You don't find SWF difficult, someone else does and it is deal breaker for them = they won't play killer anymore. How is that a win scenario?

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2058901#Comment_2058901

Again, just because you are good killer doesn't mean everyone is and OP doesn't hate the game, OP says it is not fun because they are being thrown into SWF matches which are not on their skill level. How much is many? 20% can be many, 30% can be many, how much in % ? From your argument you are saying that we should tailor the game towards best players, and not towards the average Joe.

Yes I know that, but people need to understand the issue that needs to be fixed BEFORE any swf changes. Every day has someone complaining about swf when they don't see the solo vs swf que issue.

    in swf Comment by Mazoobi
  • Yeah. Pretty sure when keys do get nerfed, an animation will be added in and from my guess, the skeleton key will have a faster animation compared to the dull key.

  • I don't really understand the serious issue with swf... I mean I play both sides at rank 1 every season, but I usually don't find swf too difficult to deal with unless I failed to capitalize their mistakes. Every group makes mistakes every once in a while and it's important to take notes of their gameplays. However I do have 3k+ hours so it's somewhat dull for me to say that "Killers aren't too hard" but can agree on why people don't like swf's.

The most important thing a LOT of people forget though is the gap between solo que and swf. The gap between solo que and swf's must be decreased before any swf changes should be made. The swf mode is universally the "preferred" survivor gameplay because it's frustrating to play with survivors who don't know what they're doing and/or it's just much more fun to play with people you know/can communicate with. The experience for swf's is just so much better so if any changes are to be made for the survivor mode... the gap between the two must be in par with one another.

    in swf Comment by Mazoobi
  • Hi! I'm also on Xbox (3500+ hours). My GT is "Recklessmoon377" if ya ever wanna add me

  • I'm saving mine for Yun-Jin instead :)

  • That would be really nice actually! :)

  • This game is not balanced... something everyone can agree on, but until the devs fix all the core issues,

both sides have every right to expect the "best" outcome of their every match. So killers, get as many kills as you can and Survivors, get as many people out as you can.

  • I recently made a Twins thread too consisting of changes (buffs/nerfs) for them if you want to check it out!

I love the twins, but they need tweaks in their base-kit and add-ons.

  • @Kellie said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/234894/have-the-devs-considered-a-freddy-nerf

And yet again someone shaming people for playing a certain killer. Freddy may be easy but that doesn’t give you the right to call out Freddy mains. Also, he isn’t overpowered at all. Nurse, Spirit, Hag, Oni, Huntress, PH, and Blight are all easily better than him imo.

I think the reason why a good amount of people despise Freddy is because of the frustration that comes when playing against him...

I have 3k+ hours and play daily with a swf that has the same amount of hours and we all hate him. Unlike other killers, we don't find the match enjoyable when its Freddy. His power(S) are just way too easy and 80% of the ones we come across with just taunt us every game (hitting on hook, shaking left/right after a down, hate mail, etc.) so it's become a norm for all four of us to hate him. Thats why we sweat hard against him and try to get out of there as soon as possible because we don't like him at all... just a pure boring match. They need to also fix his hotboxes, that would be appreciated.

Though yes I agree and that other killers are BETTER than him, those better killers take much more skill to use which my swf and I (along w/ other ppl) would rather prefer going against.
