  • On twins, I'd say is still quite valuable.

Seeing more blood pools as Victor when survivors run to their boons of CoH or Shadow Step is appreciated. Keeping survivors injured longer is great for Twins too, similar to Oni.

  • 28 Weeks Later!

If I could refund any hours from my life, it would be the ones spent watching this awful film. The conflicts in the plot were just beyond stupid and were easily avoidable. The soundtrack was way too repetitive and got annoying fast. Most of the time, you'll be questioning the decisions made by the director and how stupid the characters were in the film. For a zombie film, this needs to be burned and buried somewhere where no one can find it.

The only, AND ONLY thing I'd say I could appreciate was the camera work. The reason why I kept watching was to see how such a poorly written film was going to end. Don't bother watching this film, I repeat, DON'T WATCH IT!

  • Yun-Jin Lee.

Her lore is written differently than most survivors and the direction is interesting. Unlike many survivors who suffer from the 'victim' role because of their past experiences, Yun-Jin's lore doesn't focus on her sufferings, but her ambitious drive to succeed that was rooted from her past suffering. Her lore takes a nod to how her younger self had to endure in poor conditions along with her sister, but her lore is heavily emphasized on how she currently is living in the world of luxury.

Her lore of course then intertwines with Ji-Woon's lore and how her position gave him the platform to commit his deeds, but vice versa since he was her key to staying in such luxury.

That's why I find Yun-Jin's lore the best. It had glimpses of her past but actually included her progress into getting out of her struggles, which it now seems that she has accomplished. Her lore makes it seem like she has escaped into the world she had always dreamed of, but it will all change because she decided to hold onto it even though a threat was with her all along.

  • Love the concept of Trickster and was excited to see a KPOP killer, but the power is just... why? They could've added a cool AOE effect of some kind that can change depending on music similar to Lucio from OW, but we just have another range killer whose power doesn't feel any different from the existing ones we already have.

Still hoping for a new power rework, though it's most likely not going to happen any time soon :p

  • The aura-hiding component is really good. Saved my buddies and me several times in sticky situations.

  • I would definitely appreciate some form of mode where you can practice some new perks or try out a character you haven't had much experience of yet without needing to go to a real match and (probably) feel discouraged from the end results.

Just saves some frustration and it would be a pretty convenient for most players.

It wastes 1 survivor's time of about 20 seconds to keep relighting a totem, and the killer 2 second to destroy it, but meanwhile the other 3 survivors are doing gens. So "but they're not doing gens" just doesn't work for this.

That's if you're not chasing a survivor which in most case scenarios you are, so two survivors are on a generator (unless they decide to do something else) and the other two are being occupied due to you and their boon totem.

Once you start getting hooks & hits in, that's your slowdown for ya and if you find the totem which is fairly easy in most cases, the boon-user may feel the urge to re-bless it.

  • I had an idea like that a long time ago and another one too!

    Fractured Skull (Green rarity):

"Spawns in an additional totem into the trial"

-This skull crafted by the entity... is this a sign? Will we end up like this? - Lost Journals

Broken stopwatch (Brown rarity / Survivor exclusive):

"Adds 15 seconds to the endgame collapse timer"

-It appears to be broken, but was it ordinary, or did it track another form of time in this hellhole? - Lost Journals

    Edit: Typo

  • I had an idea for it a while back:

"You will devour the last hope for survivors as the entity rewards your skillful hunts.

You receive one token for every survivor you hook while generators remain. When the last generator is completed, if you have at least 7/6/5 tokens, the perk activates and every survivor is exposed for the next 60 seconds."

This change is to only affect those who got enough hooks in (pretty manageable) and remove its HEX aspect so the killer no longer has to worry about totems being cleansed/blessed.

We don't have time to deal with these perks, is the point. We can't juggle gens, survivors, AND totems along with keeping track of all the information associated with those things. Playing killer just feels like an overwhelming game of chance now. Maybe I win, maybe I don't. Who can tell?

The boons will not always be executed smoothly though. As others have mentioned, some survivors will prioritize their totems over generators which I think is a better thing for killers. Though this does add onto the killer's plate, the severity shouldn't be dramatic, snuffing out takes a second or two and if the killer has map awareness, they'll easily know where it is.

I haven’t played much with them because I have been taking small breaks from this game.

I did experience it for the first time the other night (CoH) and I did not feel it was that helpful. It felt very situational because of the location of the totem next to gens. Where the killer kept passing through, and seemingly did not care that the totem was right in front of him.

I realize this is only a single experience with it, but I personally didn’t feel like it affected our match that much.

Yeah, I feel you. Boons do have the potential to do something great, but other variables can apply to make it less impactful.

  • Wouldn't the speed boost upon getting hit make the perk overall better? Avoid getting downed + minor sprint burst seems a bit much.

I don't think mending is an issue either so it wouldn't really alleviate the power it holds.

  • @El_Gingero said:

It's too early to tell tbh but they do seem sort of ridiculous in some scenarios and the value they provide seems a tad excessive. I think they'll be mostly fine for solos, mostly, and broken in SWF like most things.

    Fair point.

  • So the last survivor remaining wins or whoever escapes first?

It'll definitely have to be a different game mode for sure. Probably a "death match" mode.

  • That vault has always been coded in the game ever since it was released, but hardly anyone uses it.

  • @Pulsar said:

They are both too good, but CoH is way too good and needs a nerf.

Yeah, that's why I propose that they tone down the values especially since it already offers the incredible ability to heal yourself without outside assistance.

  • Huntress and Twins!

Huntress is fairly balanced and attempting to dodge her hatches keeps me on the edge of my seat.

Twins are just straight-up fun! Whenever my SWF go against them, the strategies can get interesting real quick!

  • Welcome to the world of twins mains! :D

  • Whenever I play on that map whether it be a survivor or killer, I take that match as my "break" match and just let the results naturally fold out because out of my experiences, I already know it's not going to be pretty.

The map itself is pretty though! I just wish the orange gunk weren't there.

while i do agree that quickscoping with slinger pre-nerf was fun as hell, your point on "using the environment to help" doesn't really work as DS can just walk backwards and pull the survivor 2x faster. environment can only help if you are far enough from the slinger maybe 24m and above.

also that trapper analogy made no sense to me, maybe there's a better example?

I was just thinking about this too.

In most cases that I've witnessed, the injured survivor won't be in a good position to utilize their environment since a good deathslinger won't attempt to shoot if they're the ones at a disadvantageous spot. The possibility of breaking the chain is there, but it's usually so low to even consider.

  • @TheArbiter said:

Say what you want about Twins play style, but arguable they are the most intense chase theme in the game

Agreed. There's something about it that makes my ears rumble when chasing or being chased by them.

    Edit: Typo

  • I've heard of this idea several times which is understandable, but I feel like some of the cosmetics would look a bit off with some of how the current portraits are, and since portraits only cover their head's and bits of their torso, I don't think BHVR would go out of their way making new renders for every cosmetic available considering BHVR is... well BHVR.

  • Twins! Their concept is interesting and I love utilizing both of them in a trial.

The concept of a murderous pair that are related is such a fascinating concept that I can't get enough of!

  • The perk has great synergy with Power Struggle since they both complement each other's features.

I'd say, remove the 40/45/50% conversion rate from the perk. So instead of recovering 30% and receiving a 15% wiggle boost, you'll receive the 30% immediately. The 50% capacity can stay and make it to 40/45/50% capacity instead of conversion.

Today it was brutal. I got hit by the killer and nothing happened to my health state, but I heared the injured sound and the hit. A few seconds later he hit me again. I got a 5s freeze and I felt down. This was really strange.

Pretty often I also can not move after the unhook for a few seconds. Also new, today I was unhooked and flying around.

When I play killer some survivors disappear after a hit and respawn like 10m in a different direction running away. Its really hard to track them on yamaoka for example, if they suddenly disappear.

All happens since the helloween patch (PS4). Before the patch it wasn't perfect, but ok. But this patch is really the first one I've seen with so many impact on performance or synchronization.

    Yeah, similar to me too!

I guess the patch really F'ed up a lot of us :(

For me, this is worse than the RE chapter. Sure, frames dropped whenever you used an ability or dead hard, but now? I literally can't down people who are lagging because from my perspective they are teleporting.

Oh I thought the people teleporting was just me. Man this update is pretty bad. I know they say they do things to make console better in the background but so far I haven't seen a single thing that shows that.

I'm relieved to hear I'm not the only one experiencing these issues. I want to enjoy this event and get as much progress on the rift asap, but the patch is really becoming problematic.

  • @RenRen said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2583578#Comment_2583578

The most recent patch is pretty bad. Not only is the fps terrible and there being lag spikes but people are also crashing.

Yeah. I was looking forward to this event, but I can barely play. Playing survivor is alright though, for now.

  • @RenRen said:

Not sure if you were here before but it's been bad for a few years now.

Oh yeah I definitely have been playing since console came out, but it feels like the performance is worse now than ever (for me at least)

Their optimization fixes soon after the RE chapter was decent, but now it feels like the chapter's performance is back :p

This is unfortunately, every other game for me.

They say that to skirt around Xbox's ban system.

I'll gladly take the abuse if it means someone else doesn't have to, but Jesus Christ it's getting old.

No literally though, most Xbox games are just the BS messages left and right.

Xbox really needs to step up their system too because I've had pretty bad messages sent to me that were avoidable by the system smh.

I don't think there should be any restriction on what perks people can bring.

What I do think would be interesting is if every survivor got an end-game bonus to BP gain for specific categories.

For example: David gets 50% more for Boldness, and 25% more for Altruism. Claudette gains 75% more BP for Altruism. Bill gains 75% more for survival. Felix gets 50% more for objective, and 25% for altruism.

Just as a way to help define the survivors and give them a little BP boost.

You got the idea wrong, I replied to someone with some clarification that should hopefully get my original intentions across.

    I appreciate your input though!

How will some survivors be a must pick or a troll pick when it doesn't affect gameplay in any sense?

Thank you for understanding my post, saves me time from explaining it further.

    I appreciate it!

  • @Voodoo_Thirsty said:

Cool concept but I'm not on board...

Some survivors will be a must pick and others will be considered troll picks.

People talked about concepts like this before, but for a game like DBD, survivors should stay as they currently are.

I hope my formatting didn't change what I was intending to say, but the descriptions I included for the survivors were reasons why they were selected in that role so we didn't have to worry about people complaining why "X survivor is in this role".

I hope this clears it up better, but let's say you had to play 1 support character for X challenge, you can play Claudette without even bringing any of her teachable. You can bring whatever perk you desire, as long as you play as that character and complete whatever the challenge asked you to do.

I hope for this concept to encourage people to play as survivors they normally wouldn't play AND to give the survivor characters more significance. I hope this cleared up any confusion.

  • I just want the trickster to have another power. Knives, really? He had the potential to have a cool power maybe something like an AOE effect w/ music, but nope. As if we didn't have enough range killers, to begin with.

  • Same! That part of the video definitely caught my attention!

I assume this undiscovered third method would require some very specific tasks to be completed, but considering the many streamers and data miners this community has, I'm surprised not a single clue or hint leading toward it has been revealed yet. I'm very interested in what this alternate escape method is unless the devs were just teasing us lol.

  • When it wants to be lmao.

I know like 99% of the community has a love and hate relationship with this game.

  • I just can't help, but think about Pyramid Head's theme whenever I hear the new spirit theme.

    They sound familiar to me.

  • I actually liked Jake's.

    David and Kate's? ooh umm.

  • You forgot Yun-Jin :((

  • How could the community be so blind? You deserve an award.

  • I'm so glad they finally decided to buff Vigil. With all the newer status effects in the game, I'm surprised they decided to buff it now instead of earlier. The increased stat changes are appreciated too :3

  • Even though the spirit still has to 'guess' where a survivor is, she still has the higher advantage in the chase. If you've ever played against high-rank spirits who actually play her for a living, then you'd know why people would rather quit than playing against her.

You literally get no feedback whatsoever when she's phasing and if you're injured with her having Stridor? oh boy... and no, not every survivor has Iron Will equipped.

Spirit is BS since, unlike every other killer, every decision you make in a chase is just a pure guessing game. There's no skill in that.

  • I'm on console and yeah it's quite annoying when I want to see the new content asap, but I have to wait for streamers or content creators to grind through the new characters to see the new tier 3 perks or add-ons.

  • LIS True Colors as well! I hoped you enjoyed it. The story got me tearing up every episode.

  • Leatherface 1000000%.

That's literally the best thing he can do and is capable of dealing with the X amount of survivors so much better. He's far superior at camping in the basement too, what are the twins suppose to do if the whole squad comes in? The twins are manageable and a lot more fun to play against (in SWF).

  • Anyone from Danganronpa!

  • @Pepsidot said:

Funnily enough the Nurse's animation/visual bug I was talking about just happend to me:

    https://youtu.be/KCdWZjCNCFw

In a couple of months I'll be reminded that it exists again... probably.

Ooh, this is a nice example! This happens to me a lot when I play against Nurses.

It makes it harder to decide what to do when you can't even tell if the Nurse's animations look out of sync.

  • It would be a cute idea if dead survivors would come back as ghosts, but can't interact with anything or if the devs incorporate a small incentive in staying in the match (solo groups).

This was inspired by the game, White Noise 2 which had a similar formula to DBD.

  • I think they're an interesting new concept because this game should have some more. I'm tired of the same pallet, window, gen, and hook shenanigans we've had for 5 years.

The issue is how the devs are going to execute them. Something is telling me that it'll be up to the survivors on where to place them due to the effects they could possess. If a boon totem were to give survivors X amount of repair boost, I don't think it'll be fair for the killer if the totem was already set up since survivors will hop on gens ASAP unless the killer finds the totem in time, but that'll waste their time from finding survivors.

That's my take though, we'll have to wait and see :P
