He's viable at red ranks if the Trapper is good and doesn't always place traps in the obvious locations and depend on them. The sneaky Trappers are the ones that'll put some obvious ones out in the usual spots but then place some in not so obvious spots.

He isnt, the best trapper I know (lefthandentitiy) got demolished during the official tournmane e.g.
If you know a real trapper master that can teach us sth, pls share him with us

  • Why not actually

  • @Entità said:
    @Master Why? What else?

The problem is how easily survivors can get rid of traps and that they can communicate their location via comms.
How can that be fixed? Idk really, maybe increase the base disarming time?A
Then their hitboxes are utterly broken, you will trap yourself but a survivor can pass easily.

Also they really need to get rid of the RNG

Dang!!! I feel like that's honestly few people for such a popular and successful game.

Thats quite a lot if I take a look at the progress were making.

I want a killer with 120% move meant. Probably a larger terror radius and a relatively weak power to counterbalance but still. If you want a more specific suggestion then here is what I propose:

    Speed: 120%
    Terror radius: 40 meters

Power: Spear Whip - Use the M2 button to throw your spear (which is attached to a steel rope). If you hit a generator or a pallet then you will break it. If you hit a survivor then they will cower for half a second, during which time they cannot do actions besides running (prevent's vaulting). If they are already doing an action besides running then it will be canceled and they will be pulled towards you slightly

    So a better trapper?

Jesus christ. Survivors needs also some helpful stuff like insta-heals. Every side have a different benefits in the game. Such as the killer can mori survivors, insta-down them etc. Besides survivors more die than escape.

I believe that helpful stuff should still be balanced. I'm fine with the existence of insta-heals as long as there is a downside which makes the add-on balanced.

In general, if there is a strong perk/item/add-on for either survivors or killers, it should be balanced. I don't like the freebie character of insta-heals. It takes no skill, there is no risk. There is no equivalent for killers with such a freebie trait. A killer equivalent would be that somebody just randomly loses one or two health states. And of course, that doesn't sound reasonable at all. So why should survivors have such an unbalanced add-on?

Than why killers should have mori, insta-downs add-ons? Mori after the nerf doesn't have a downside. You just need to hook a survivor and ta dam you can mori him. Without this you must have to get them killed by hooking them 3 times per person, so there is not downsides for this offering. Insta-down hatchets? Yes there is downside by reducing the carrying a hatchets to only 1, but you have unlimited times to use it and insta-heals are only once per trial.

First, I don't think the Ebony Mori is balanced. It's too strong. But the existence of one unbalanced thing doesn't justify the existence of another unbalanced thing. There simply shouldn't be anything unbalanced in a game.

As you described, insta-down hatchets have a downside. And on top, it still takes skill to hit a survivor and the killer has only 3 attempts (if the add-on for additional hatchets is used). After these 3 attempts, the chase is over. Insta-heals on the other side take no skill at all. Just make a click and it's done.

It's similar to the one other insta-down add-on in DbD. That's it. Not a lot of killers even have insta-downs.

"You can only use insta-heals once per trial" is not a downside, either. If you could use them multiple times, nobody would play DbD anymore.

Than... I'm okay with insta-down nerf if we nerf a mori.

Make a thread about nerfing Mori's then. I'm certainly up for the idea if you have something specific in mind

Well 4 insta heals are way more powerful than a mori, so.....

I don't think those are actually more powerful than a mori, unless we're talking about the green sort specifically, which we wouldn't be. If everyone had a syringe, that would be 4 extra lives, while a mori would reduce 4 extra lives. Mind you, both are ultra rare and one side requires 4 to have the same affect. Additionally, moris can be done wherever and if you're getting up someone from the ground, you're often exchanging a health state for that. You also need to be in the right place at the right time. A person with a syringe being miles away from the downed person doesn't help even remotely. When you're chasing someone with a mori, you're often right on them.

If I had to choose if I could use an ebony vs 4 insta heals or no mori vs no insta heals, I would prefer the no insta heal game

The problem with isnta heals is that they can be used on downed survivor too and not only on yourself

Oh and then there is still the insta heal exploit that BHVR doesnt bother fixing

All things equal, it would actually only be 1 as that would be the equivalent of an ebony mori and I'd prefer something that often wouldn't impact the match (they have to be nearby/in a good position for it not to go to waste/be unused). If we're talking about a 4 man squad of insta heals, that'd be more like a one-down huntress with a mori.

I haven't heard of an insta heal exploit, but I wouldn't be surprised with this game.

Well, you know its a 1vs4.

And guess what, 4 man squads are part of the game, but an instadown+mori offering is not

Those are part of the game if someone chooses to use them, though, and it'd be going off of the same amount of points. I think the biggest issue (from what I've understood) is SWF and couldn't we counter something like that if we kept people in SWF groups from running the same items and perks? I've seen someone suggest something like that and still think it's a really good idea. I highly doubt you're gonna get a squad of mostly solo players who all bring in insta-meds.

That doesnt change the fact that it will always be 4vs1. 1 insta heal shoudl not be equally powerful to a mori

Vent post. Camping is “strategic” or whatever apparently but it’s just really boring and frustrating.

Its even boring for killer like imagine being that desperate just run NOED at that point. But the fact that you literally can’t even let people have a chance really sucks.

Literally throughout my past 5-10 games I have been tunneled to death, camped, facecamped, and even moried at least 4 times now. The worst part is that I’m literally deranking in the progress because I’m playing solo which makes it more difficult. This is why people run DS and BT.

I get that my team escapes often but it just really sucks when this happens so much. Before someone sarcastically posts like “what is the killer supposed to hold your hand?” No. I don’t expect them to. But it’s just so frustrating as a solo player man :^((

I don’t even tbag or do anything that seems “toxic”. I just don’t understand why I’ve been so unlucky lately.

I know how to juke properly and hide well but I just still end up being found. Man...

Maybe its time and see what it feels like to play killer? No tunnel and camp then

The problem is that in a competitive ranked game, there needs to be punishment right after the first DC which increases the more you DC.
Usually first DC => 5 mins
    2nd DC => 15 mins
    3rd => 1 hour

My problem is with the competitively ranked games. Rank is a joke we all know it comes down more to matches played over actual skill. The fact we have match making based on this is also a reason for lobby dodging and such. You get players on both sides who derank to find "less" competitive matches(to bully the other-side) and have being do it for so long that when they run into a skilled player they get beat.

BHVR really needs to look at removing the incentive to dc. If you upped the points both sides received and did not allow the user to depip it may discourage the dc in the first place. For example if a survivor dc's on a killer the killer gets 3 hooks worth of points and if running BBQ the stack they may have lost. If a Killer quits at the beginning of the match the survivor would get a low end matches worth of points 15k

At that point you add in the dc timeout penalties with a rolling 72hr clock.

Well that can be fixed with a casual game mode like very other competitive game offers.

I dont think its a solution to reward the other side of the DC, DCing must be prevented in the first place.

And yes, if you DC too often it might very well happen that you are banned for multiple days from the ranked mode, thats normal in real competitive games

Spirit is a good killer because her power counters loops (assuming said killer knows how to win mind games).

If you have a certain skill with killer, then Spirit is very potent because you'll be able to cut survivors off.
Is it 100% consistent? No, but you'll probably win most of your chases.

Also, I'm not sure I would say Spirit is the third best killer. Billy and Huntress are both very strong killers. You don't even need add ons to do well with these two. Hag is also very good if played properly.

I don't play a lot of Spirit, but this is my basic understanding.

A mindgame is a mindgame, not sth you are "skilled in".
And thats the problem of spirit if you ask me

Serious facecamping is ridiculous, buff the borrowed time. It's unbearable to play with such a jerk. So much killer idiot that has in that game. Many idiots in this game without skill kills you in facecamping and thinks it's good

Just play killer, nobody will camp you then

  • @Yamaoka said:
Just had a weird game as solo survivor. I spawned next to a survivor who was just afk all game. Killer was a camping, tunneling, green mori, ruin, noed Freddy aka 99% of all Freddy players. As soon as the first survivor got unhooked he got mori d immediately and the other survivor was just afk as mentioned so basically it was 5 gens with ruin and 2 survivors (me and one other person).

I figured I'd just loop him through the map to get some chase points and move on. The thing is he was a total joke of a killer so he chased me long enough for the other survivor to finish 4 gens on his own.

When he eventually got me he messaged me "get better like seriously that was beyond boring" which basically means he was insecure, salty and wanted to jump off a roof.

Why are a lot of killer mains like that? I never tbag, I never flashlight click, I never point fingers or whatever. I just use map elements to survive IF I play survivor which rarely is any fun due to the number of team mates who just sit in a corner all the time.

Killer mains seem to be really insecure whenever they struggle to catch a survivor. So here's the question for all of you who play killer ONLY:

Do you even play for FUN or is dbd something you use to deal with self esteem issues which causes you to get angry whenever you think someone could stop you from getting your beloved 4k?

Of course a freddy player is insecure. Knowing that its up to the survivors whether you are bullied or whether you do sth, yes that would make me insecure aswell

  • @Cymer said:
The survivors always complain that NOED rewards killers for bad play.
But the hatch is like a free NOED in every game!
You can play perfectly as a killer but in the end you either have to slug one survivor (extremely fun and healthy gameplay) and search for the last survivor who is probably sitting in a corner or closet and is waiting for the other one to bleed out or die on the hook so he can go for the hatch or hook the poor one and hope that you find the hatch before the other one does.

Win condition Hatch. 2 gens need to be done.

And don't think of killers like Freddy who has absolutely no counterplay against a hatch-standoff!
He cannot grap a survivor unless he but them into dreamstate. If they aren't in dreamworld, they can simply walk up to the hatch. Buttdance and go as they please. 0 counterplay!

For survivors there are other rules than for killer.

Just look what happened to the hatch closing mechanic

  • Sounds reasonable then

How would the community feel about a reputation system in Dead by Daylight?
Something along the lines of, after a game, you can vote your teammates as good leaders, good runners, nice teammates, etc. Then you could vote the killer as something like good mindgamer, pressure applier, or nice killer.
I feel that, personally, it could solve a bit of the toxicity problem. What about you guys?
What else might you "vote" your teammates or the killer as? Would the system be abused? What would be the long term effect?

Like I said, it'd be a toxicity reducer. It would reward you for giving other players good rep, AND it would buff solo survivors so that they could know their fellow survivors' playstyles.

How would it reward you? Just emotionally orwith actual gameplay impact?

"You can only use insta-heals once per trial" is not a downside, either. If you could use them multiple times, nobody would play DbD anymore.

Than... I'm okay with insta-down nerf if we nerf a mori.

Make a thread about nerfing Mori's then. I'm certainly up for the idea if you have something specific in mind

Well 4 insta heals are way more powerful than a mori, so.....

    so...? Finish your sentence please

So insta heals must be nerfed

They? Trapperisop and alphaphalt is obviously the same person. Check the time on "their" comments.

EDIT: "they" even created the same thread at the same time. 😂

    Or maybe friends.
Or maybe a killer main pretending to be a survivor main.

I think it's the guy @Master, or the other guy called "wraith?", they just want to create toxicity in this forum

    Uhm what?

Ok so remove Billy and Bubba's insta downs, remove all Mori's except Yellow, remove Iridescent Hatchets, and Pinky's Finger, remove Myers Evil III. Now does that sound like a fair trade to deal with the insta heals because if so I'm sure survivors would agree to it.

All the killer downs require skill, the insta-heals require a click. The non-existing killer's equivalent to an insta-heal would be the killer making a click and the survivor just losing one or two health states. If the killers could get such an add-on, survivors could keep the insta-heals.

However, the insta-heals do not need to be removed entirely, they just need a rework. There are already some good suggestions in this thread here.

Actually that's incorrect, it takes no skill to charge across the map and steer into a survivor or follow behind them and cheese with Billy's saw.

Pinky's finger just follow them and whammo instant exposed, Huntress follow behind them instant down, Billy same. There's absolutely no skill involved in simply following behind someone with an insta down.

But like i said you could have a timer required since in real life if you're trying to administer something along those lines there's prep time.

That'dd keep people from simply dropping a pallet and insta healing to full similar to how they did it before with pause at pallet heal a few clicks etc.

    Have you ever played billy?

@Vietfox have you joined lobby dodgers anonymous????

Never! I would rather uninstall DbD than becoming a lobby dodger.

    This here basically ^^^

So you both would abandon the game.
    Interesting

Make that three because I'd rather uninstall this game than cherry pick lobbies all day , I'm here to have fun not waste anyone's time , in fact the past week I really haven't even played survivor because the times are still so bad I don't want to wait and piss myself off.

    Well just play killer then?

I had equipped DS cause people were specifically targetting me (they were mad I had 3% of shaggy's power) and I had gone into this game with Freddy

Ruin, NOED, you know the typically poor freddy build. (pls nerf i mean buff freddy)

Anyway, I missed my ds because he was dribbling me, and on his attempt to get the last dribble to hook me, my adrenaline popped and zoooom off I go

    skrrt

    pce fredd boi

he also complained for like 3 min about it and I laughed because I looped him when he had his NOED speed increase and he still didn't get me lol

If you use DS in my games, I will make sure that you suffer.

    Just my two cents

I am a new player, got around 30 hours in and I really like this game so far. Played both survivor and killer equally I think. My highest killer is a level 19 doctor. Been trying out all of them trying to find one or two I like the best.
I will out right say I am not very good at either role maybe a 4/10 if you had to rank me. Still learning and I get caught as a survivor very quickly and I can get looped endlessly as killer by decent survivors.

As much as I want to get better and play more the people are so toxic it has almost turned me off playing. I had a game last night as Doctor. I was getting beat for the most part, had hooked a few survivors maybe 4 times total with one of them being twice. I had just hung one as the last gen popped, I ran in that direction and happened to get another one quickly. I hung them on a hook very close to the previous one. The gate is available, and I have 2 hooked close together. So, I decided to just run back and forth between the hooks trying to get at least 1-2 kills. Again, I suck and managed to lose both and everyone escaped.

As soon as we get to chat they are blasting me for camping, even though during the game I didn’t spend one second around a hooked survivor until the very end when I was essentially beat.

Why is there so much animosity in this game? I always say gg after every game no matter what happens. Maybe it’s because I am older and being a dick on the internet is the cool thing to do these days. But I plead with the everyone playing this game please try and use some maturity and have fun. It is just a game at the end of the day. Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose, either way BE NICE.

Grumpy old man rant complete. Have a nice day.

    Just ignore the chat.
DBD is really special in that regard since BHVR doesnt hand out banns enough

Lately I am observing so many survs that play just to chase the killer, unhook, troll, t-bag... this is caused due to the frustration and impotence of couldnt fight back the killer. People around lv10 dont wanna do gens! it is boring!

I really miss some more action that pallet'ing a killer to have more fun

devs can we please equip kind of baseball bat, molotov cocktail or perks like american football tackles? of course just causing a stun to the killer, limited use, so the change should not so big

And what does the killer get? A flame thrower?

I'm sorry but this game is littered with bugs and probably the most offensive one is the infinite loading screen. So how are they gonna be constantly updating the store with cosmetics when they can't even get their game to work properly? I could also give like a full list of balance changes for both sides if I wanted to. It just seems like cosmetics are the least of our concerns right now. In short, fix your [BAD WORD] game before giving us any unneccesary #########.

You cant sell bug fixes though

When there is already so much to do...

    Repair Gens
    Look for chests
    Sabotage Hooks
    Find totems
    Heal other survivors
    Gain tokens for certain perks
    Unhooks
    Look for the hatch
    Heal self and others
Disarm bear traps and hag marks
    Open the exit gates
    etc...

And yet you spend half of the game holding M1 at a gen

  • Yeah 4 man slugs are quite satfisfying, probably the hardest thing to pull off in DBD
