Some really cool ideas here.
I guess they already try to shift the strong effects to Scourge Hooks.
-
I would take it.
Just watched the movie a few month ago. Cheesy but funny.
-
Not my opinion. But good everyone can have one.

Agreed on all counts. I only wish more matches were in the RPD. I'm tired of the same old maps (Swamp/ Autohaven) match after match. I have a long list of potential maps but sadly I'm not being heard.
I don´t get RPD very often. I like playing it.
And you are completely right with Autohaven and it is Coldwind for me i get so often. They could do sooo many cool maps and are so slow with them.
Hope we get one for anniversary at least.

Hey! I was joking with my friend over the latest twitter post that I'd bring my aluminum water bottle into the Fog since I'd get thirsty, and it quickly turned into an idea for what I think would be a healthy and practical expansion to the survivor's repertoire of items:
Water bottles would hold charges to allow a survivor to expedite recovery from exhaustion. They would need to stay put while they channel the item (like a medkit or toolbox) but while they do so, their exhaustion recovers at 200% or higher, depending on addons & rarity. A handy water bottle could mean the ability to stay closer to the action or re-engage the killer faster, at the cost of an item's charges (and the opportunity cost of bringing a water bottle as opposed to a medkit).
I'd see a brown water bottle providing about 8-12 seconds worth of saved time while a purple would mimic its medkit parallel and allow for much more. Addons could be used to expand capacity, increase the recovery rate (potentially depleting charges faster) and an iridescent effect could be something like being able to consume the bottle like a syringe for an instant 'mini-sprint burst'. You may also include the ability to offer water to a teammate like you would heal a teammate, though it'd be hard to know which teammates are exhausted without external comms (or I guess, your teammate frantically teabagging and pointing at your hand, desperate for your trusty canteen)
Water bottles would be especially useful for survivors in situations where they would prefer to remain injured (such as against killers who score easy injuries like Legion or Plague, or killers who have exposed downs like Ghost Face, Meyers, Billy, and Bubba) or to complement injury builds like No Mither, Resilience, and so on.
Water bottles would be worthless to survivors who have no exhaustion perks equipped, but exhaustion perks are common and it'd be easy enough for game knowledge to spread regarding the appropriate situations to use the item.
What do y'all think?
Quentins perk Vigil already speeds up exhaustion time recovery. And other effects too.

No thanks. It is a really cool map.
Just learn it. It is not that difficult as it seems at the beginning. A lot of people liked it better with time - maybe because it is a bit more complicated than the other maps.
And no, we do not have enough maps for variety. We need more maps. The loss of Hawkins is already too much.
Maybe we will get tweaks over time. And it is easy or hard for every killer as are all other maps. Good killers can win there and bad killers can lose there.
-
Read around - famous opinion nowadays seems to be like
It is only about "my fun" - i paid to have fun. If i don´t like anything i dc - because "no fun".
Who are these "others" you are talking about?

For reference they haven’t posted their findings yet from their tests the last couple of weeks but (correcf me if I’m wrong) I think Mandy said they were going to post a blog about it this week maybe? I’m sure they’ll be tweaking some things one way or another, I doubt they looked at all the data and decided not to change anything, but what they’re going to be adjusting they haven’t said yet.
Hopefully.
The last test days were good for my games as well i have to say.

You know that BHVR is a company who wants to earn money?
Never forget that. A lot of decisions we don´t understand are probably good for earning more money.
-
More stuff like Samination.

@MrPeanutbutter said:
Totally agree with this, but BHVR seems to believe the grind is totally fine and that it’s not turning away enough potential players to require any changes. They’ve done nothing yet to address it.
No, they know it and are already working on a good fix which comes anytime soon.
And of course it will be a superior one. Simply having a permantent 2x bp bonus for matches or reducing the web costs (which would work immediately) would destroy the games ecosystem...

Can you imagine if this game had in game leaderboards for fastest escapes?
The first places would look like
- kljhsfg987345987395 - 0,021 sec to escape
- god987123 - 0,0212 sec to escape
- fifthacc123 - 0,0213 sec to escape
-
But it is in fact easier if you start fresh. But you have to know what you want.
When i started my PC account later after PS4 i know which perks are the best and unlocked only these first. So you get them on the next survs and killers way quicker. Also i avoided to unlock the useless ones first.
Of course this only works with new accounts.
Now the best perks are with the new killers - which they want you to buy of course.
-
The chat censor is completely random. It is maybe for trolling reasons from the devs.
-
Because they have to invent three surv perks every three month. I think we already have enough or even to much.
You can bet there is other - maybe worse - stuff coming in the future.

By cut version, do you guys mean that it'll be a censored version?
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2906080#Comment_2906080
That's totally understandable. On the bright side, you'd be able to avoid any potential issues that could happen on-release (mainly potential bugs/balancing issues).

Hiya, Seiko! Didn't realise you were a big Evil dead fan. Some very interesting points you brought up and you're absolutely right! In many of the trailers, it definitely doesn't shy away from showing that the Survivors can bite back in many different ways. Having many versions of Ash is interesting too! I'm curious how the class system will work in that regard. A lot of people will want to play Ash, so I wonder how they're gonna handle that.
As adult horror fan in germany you always have to check if a movie or game is censored or not. Sadly even 18+ stuff can be censored here.
We have a good site schnittberichte which covers a lot of stuff.
Movies and games we mostly can get from Austria or Switzerland - sadly expensive.

I am just saying that you don't even sometimes get the opportunity to do the few things needed to get a zero game. For instance, I just did two gens, unhooked and got a full chase emblem and was still short of a +1. Just doesn't seem right even though I at least did not get a -1.
Yes. There is an overview somewhere. You need a fixed amount of emblempoints to pip up. And that increases in higher grades.
So to progress you need to do more and more in game. If the game is too short you can´t get that. It works that way.
-
A bit of both.
You left before some significant changes. MMR and Boons.
I just started with this game some time before these changes so i still know how the old worked. (better in some areas)
Survs heal a lot more and generally faster. That destroyed some killers and tactics. This is part of the reason where these camp and tunnel thing came from.
SWF still exists and are stronger than ever before. They know how to split, how to loop, how to play overall. Only a few killers can compete with this.
The MMR should balance and match you with players of your skill but i just doesn´t work half of the time. You get matches which are completely off - from very good to very bad. Depends on time, region, wait times.
Also the killer population has gone down. So there a fewer killers to be matched.
Playing killer is rough these days.
For me it is getting stomped a few times and then get players who i can stomp (which i don´t as i am to empathic in these cases).
Sometimes there are some balanced fun matches in between. But that is the state of the game - at least for me.
-
Haha - that is nice. I like that idea.
But i already see the outcry of threads that would emerge here :-)

@Malicius said:
Basement bubbas, tunnelers... just don't understand losing pips in those games. I think with the new grade system, it should always be 0,1 or 2 pips. No need to lose pips anymore.
That's all.
Basically, I really don't have time to grind to grade 1 and I am complaining. I still think it's a good change.
You are completely right.
It is much more difficult than some think it is. You have to become kinda good in this game to pip up consistently. And pips getting harder in higher grades too.

Uh, no it doesn't.
I was a new player under the former matchmaking system which used ranks, and SBMM is much better.
Ranks meant that, especially the first week of the month, I'd be facing people with hundreds or thousands more hours than myself.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2906226#Comment_2906226
Survivor queues are pretty much instant for most of the day unless you are at an absurd MMR, and even then it will gradually expand the parameters to find you the next best match it can.
The weird matchmaking scenarios are mostly caused (from what we know) by lobby dodges, which causes the system to basically grab the next person in line.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2906190#Comment_2906190
Do they? Maybe during the first week of the month. I'm already Gold III on killer, and I haven't been playing all that much.
Yes they do.
What is "haven't been playing all that much" for you?
As i often said, this forum seems not very representative for newer to mid range players.
A bad player will not reach the higher grades. At a point he needs to do some things in the matches to pip.
-
Haha. Same here.
Except i get eventually the opposite. Sometimes i get good teammates and a bad killer. Or new players as killer.

So original object of obsession allowed you to see the killers aura permanently up to 72 meters away I think it was, revealing your own aura at the same time. Sole survivor hide their aura up to a a set distance, that increases with each dead survivor. The idea was that you would pair the two together and this would allow you to track the killer's aura without them being able to track you at an increased distance for each dead teammate. Now object got reworked and as a result you actually cannot see the killer's aura if your aura is hidden, making it impossible to pair to the two perks together. So its a pair of perks, with one being entirely obsolete now.
Ah, ok i see. Yeah, that is not really good if you only have Laurie with her three perks.
-
Grades still show a lot.
This is just another case of MMR is not working as it should.
-
@Icaurs said:
Sole survivor was designed to pair with Object of obsession. They then reworked object and left sole survivor, you cannot even combine the two because of how new object works. Honestly don't care what change they do, anything would be an improvement.
They should check the perk compatibility if they change one from a surv set. I never really understood what sole surv should do.

New maps.
They can slow down a bit with new survs and killers imo.

It looked great and had a cool atmosphere. I really liked it.

I don´t made that up. It is stated here somewhere that the MMR does not reset.
Also on this 12th they did run a test with different MMR settings.
-
@JamnJelly said:
I had a leaver last night after I gen grabbed them. Like, it was instant.
Ohh, getting grabbed is absolutely "not fun" for sure.
-
Don´t you know that getting slammed by Oni is "not fun"?
If you don´t "have fun" you have to dc immediately as you paid for this game to "have fun".
-
For me it don´t make a big difference which killer i play.
I am somewhat mid tier but my killer games still tend to swing from 0 to 100 and back.
-
Only the grades reset - MMR is said to not reset.
So in theory nothing should change on that day.
-
Oh yes, this and other strange and unfortunate things can happen in this game.
My sadest moment was in old Hawkins (miss it) when i was hooked and the hatch was right there in front of the hook. The last teammate came to me and jumped right in the hatch. That was before the rework.
That was ... kinda hard. Really hard.
-
Yes, my games the last days have been wild again.
I have to admit they were a lot funnier for me at the last MMR test day.
-
@dollidahlia said:
This post flopped so hard lol not BHVR coming in saying OP is wrong
Yep, and the normal MMR is just how it was before. Get absolutely crushed some times and then get some newbies who you can kill so easy it hurts.
Got some fun games yesterday i have to say.

Stats say that the nurse is the worst killer so do not rely on them. You jut need to know the game to understand that she is weak.
You didn´t understand.
It only counts what are devs are seeing - and they look at the stats most of the time.
-
Ok, now it switched again.
Got two groups in a row where i got no hooks... yeah...
-
Yeah... just got a good team and we got a one perk new Ghostie... who was completely overwhelmed.
-
No probs here atm. Ah - didn´t saw the solved.
-
I would like to have it back and more of it.
But i don´t think it is coming back. Do you really think they would add it again after it was completely removed from the game?
Netflix is already doing other colabs.

I hope we get some kind of an old castle map sometime.
These victorian costumes would work also well i think.
They could make so much cool maps...
-
I guess these stats may be from the bight side but i also thought that console players would be the majority. But even if a bit optimistic i completely believe that a lot of people play.
They should do more tournaments like this AT&T thing.
-
If you see how worse games can be - as right now - you can say their normal system is working better than this...
-
Same. Try to get points then.
Try to get a challenge progress, cleanse totems, open chests, go to the basement, sabo hooks if i have a toolbox.
Get chased and killed.
Never killed myself on hook - principle.
