But doesn't boons give you a great benefit while cleansing is a time sink that you may or may not benefit from because you don't know if NOED is being run until the very end?

Boons generally make up for the time investment.

If you get hit by NOED you would think different.

For the cleanse 20 totems tome i cleansed all totems for some games. Some got hit in the endgame - and nothing happens. Cool to see at end screen that the killer had NOED - but it wasn´t there.

I think that is the point - and all complaints about NOED being too OP are not really true. You can decide to cleanse if you want to. The point is they decide they don´t want to do it.

But as boons show - it is not that there is no time to cleanse.

  • Buffy2.JPG

Buffy was simply great - at the time. Good writing, good evolving characters, some serious topics and the heart at the right place. (Like Scrubs for me too)

  • Uff... just saw a rumor of a Buffy Reboot with Zendaya as Buffy.

I have yet to see any good reboot of an old classic.

Now people realized NOED is stronger when you play it with slow-down perks.

I am seeing more killers using NOED with Corrupt, DMS, PR, Pop, Deadlock etc. It is more stronger with this builds.

We know CoH will get nerf. We know BHVR is looking Dead Hard, all good changes. But we have another unhealthy perk, known as NOED. But no news for this perk sadly.

No time to cleanse? But a lot of time to boon multiple times... i think this argument doesn´t work anymore as boons show.

  • I got teammates today... i am not sure - maybe they are already testing bots too today :-)

  • No, they don´t want to work for their win - and miss the rewarding feeling you can get from an earned victory. (Sometimes)

The forum is full of "no fun for me - i have to dc" comments. I don´t like to be hooked - i hate this killer - i hate RPD - bla bla bla.

I go down first - ragequit. What team? - don´t care if i ruin their fun.

  • I really like playing her and against her.

Sounds, animations and so are all cool.

But if you get some good groups to play against she feels kinda weak like the other killers.

Got so many survs who loop very good - nothing you can do - really annoying as hell.

Due to tome grind i played more killer games than usual the last days - man is this stressful and draining atm.

Also, where can I see the devs talk about this? I'd like to watch the stream please.

I am not sure if it was in the last Q&A or the 5th anniversary stream.

You find a lot of videos on Youtube. Maybe someone knows better if this is here as well.

  • There are some implications online that the 6th is an original chapter.

It's not as simple as "Don't disconnect" People get emotional, and their emotions warp their decisions. If it's not fun, people are more likely to ragequit out of emotional rage. You have to understand that.

No, i know it is there but i don´t have to understand it.

    I never dc.

I have bad matches too but thats it. I am angry. But then - next match, maybe better maybe not. There are bad days.

Learn to deal with it. For me all these ragequits and stuff are like little kids. Embarrassing. They should better play other games.

  • What did you expect?

They are working on it and maybe the exhaustion time gets increased by 0.25 secs sometime in the distant future.

  • Don´t dc. At least try. Have some honor.

I had so many dcs today - it is annoying and most of the time leaves your team doomed.

I can´t hear this "fun" argument anymore. Maybe just play another game then.

You are incredibly off base. I'm not "just mad" or something lmao. This is pure logic. The EULA is clear, the specific type of camping I highlighted is clear. They contradict, that's it. I think the EULA's language is the right thing to uphold here. Everyone should have the ability to enjoy playing the game. All killers, all survivors, no exceptions. If they don't like the game, that's fine, but that's not what this is about. No one gets guaranteed fun, obviously. We're only talking about their ability to play. Stubbornly facecamping someone to death on 1st hook removes a player's ability to play. It is simple. I understand it all perfectly fine.

All fine. I am old enough, for me it is just a game.

But i have never took the EULA of any game to tell what is or should not be allowed.

But maybe i am too lucky. I don´t remembver when i was facecamped the last time. I got camped here and there and there are a lot of proxy campers.

I sometimes die on first hook - I don´t like that also.

But i take it as a compliment when the killer is angry at me because i looped him too long.

And as i play killer too i can fully understand that.

Got a Boil Over Jake at Eeries today. He escaped twice - after i got him - was near the end i fully camped as i wanted him to die as i was super annoyed by that.

... out of curiosity, you do know BHVR is working on a way to discourage camping within the game, right? It's not an easy fix, because everything they've tested in the past is easily abused by halfway-coordinated survivors, but the devs seemed pretty optimistic about their current idea when they mentioned it in a recent stream. Even if they don't go through with that one, I doubt they'll just give up.

Most people, including the devs, don't want killers standing around staring at a hook for two minutes waiting for someone to die. But the point of this thread is to encourage banning people who camp, and that's not a reasonable response to the issue. It's highly unlikely they'd ever make it bannable because if nothing else it's not enforceable. They'd have to hire a ridiculous number of people to deal with the fact that every match from now until the end of time would be reported for a camping killer, and most reports would be thrown out, but BHVR would still need people to look at each report individually. It's an unreasonable ask.

    They already get these reports.

And they talk much on the streams - we will see when it comes out.

I think they already try with the new perks that are more rewarding if you try to do other stuff than camping.

But the main problem is that for some killers it is really hard to catch good loopers - chases take too long. The gens fly by and you are screwed. That is still a big reason for camping.

"The nature of the game is to make you feel angry and mad" -- this is absolutely untrue. What? I have never, ever heard anyone make that argument. The nature of the game is... to be fun. Just like any other game. Sometimes, in the process of that fun, there are challenges and frustrations that make it even more fun when you over come them. But that is a perfect example...being facecamped to death on 1st hook does not give that survivor the opportunity to overcome any challenge. They literally just can't play. They are stuck, unable to do anything, until they die.

"No" is not a valid argument. You're going to need to explain why my example doesn't work. It seems valid to me.

When you just respond "no" it says to me you really aren't thinking about it and instead you're just saying you don't like it. It doesn't matter what you like or don't like, what matters in the context of the EULA/TOS is that they are adhered to fairly so that all players (BOTH killers and survivors) have an equal opportunity to enjoy playing the game.

Maybe you don´t understand it but that is ok.

"Sometimes, in the process of that fun, there are challenges and frustrations that make it even more fun when you over come them."

    That is the key sentence.

You sound pretty angry to me with what you don´t like and want to changed so that you can play. Angry and mad is not bad it is just psychology.

Don´t you feel extremely good when you barely escape or get hooked twice at the beginning of the match (happened to me today with a billy) and your team turns this though lost match and gets 3 escaped at the end?

Not always - but the more frustrating something is - the higher the feeling of overcoming it. Has something to do with the energy you invest in it. (Or you just hate it)

Again - like Dark Souls :-)

Being camped is "playing" DBD in the same way that being in a penalty box is "playing" hockey...i.e. it isn't playing at all. If someone throws a hockey player over the wall into the penalty box in the first few minutes of a match, and then stands there and physically blocks them from leaving the box, the player in the box is not "playing" the game.

Being hooked is a normal part of the DBD gameplay loop. The brief periods of being hooked are fine because it is part of the shifting objectives of the game. A killer camping someone to death on first hook is breaking the flow of the game. It isn't that being hooked is an issue, it is that forcing someone to stay hooked is short-circuiting their death. You are forcing them to miss the gameplay loop, forcing them to not really be able to play the game.

The type of camping I'm primarily talking about is when a killer hooks someone and camps until they die on first hook. That means the killer is ignoring their own gameplay loop as well. They should be chasing people, damaging gens, etc... but instead they are just standing around waiting for someone to die. It breaks the game to do that, especially from the start of a match, and imo it also violates the EULA due to the survivor not being able to even really attempt to play the game for that match.

No, that example doesn´t work and you should know that.

And also no, as much as you want it to be "illegal" - the killer can play this way if he wants to.

The team can try or they just do gens and escape. Part of the game.

We know that often the team tries and fails and therefore makes it work better than it should maybe. And if the killer only kill one that is his problem (or not really).

You are missing the point that the whole and only goal of the kiler is to kill you. You can talk against that all you want.

The nature of the game is to make you feel angry and mad - and sometimes extremely joyful - i still think this is its key success point.

The engagement is really high. I like to compare it to Dark Souls. It is hard and frustrating and there is no easy mode. You love it and bite through it and get rewarded for your successes or you hate it.

  • @LadyTyche said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2883424#Comment_2883424

I disagree. The player on a hook that is being camped is not able to play. Unless this game is now becoming hook simulator. The killer staring at you and pretend attacking you while you progress through all three hooks is not playing. Also, many times the other survivors try to unhook the player and the killer ignores them and re-hooks the survivor immediately. This is the gameplay that I am saying is interfering with the ability to do any objectives (enjoy the game).

If you want to call it that way then yes, it can be a hook simulator at times.

And you are playing the game - you can´t move as you are hooked. But you are playing.

A killer can do camp if he wants to. It may be super frustrating but this is also a part of the game.

Some teams manage to save - had this today - and some don´t.

And yeah - you sometimes get camped - had this today - or you get instakilled by a Devour Hope Myers on RPD on the first chase - had this today.

But also as survivor you may get goot teammates and a not so good killer. And the team blinds him and runs him around adn so on.

That is also not nice for the killer - had an annoying flashlight squad today. Man is this satisfying if you get them.

That is all part of the game - again - you may not like it but that is up to you - that IS the game.

And if you think about it - i think you don´t want to have somebody tell you how YOU HAVE TO PLAY the game?

Can´t do this and can´t do that. Nobody want that.

  • And what is with dc on first down after 1.07 minutes?

Or dc on first hook after 2.03 minutes?

I really understand that as i had games like this today. And that is super annoying.

The problem is that this system won´t work. Sad enough.

I hate that people dc all the time when something goes wrong. No sportsmanship at all.

I don't think anyone has the right to win. I very much enjoy this game, whether I survive or die, when I get the ability to play it! It's not true to say you can win by any means though. All games have codes of conduct and objectives for you to complete. DBD already recognizes that some gameplay isn't allowed. I wish they would add more features like the crows that give away your position if you stand in one place too long. I've played matches where a survivor did literally no objectives. They ran around the map hiding. Eventually they were the only survivor left and after about 2 mins of the killer searching they killer had to open the door to end the game. This shouldn't be allowed either. Maybe a solution would be if a survivor hasn't done any objectives for some amount of time the crows show up until they do something. I don't know what the answer is but camping does interfere with the hooked players ability to do any objectives (enjoy the match).

    But that is my point.

You are playing - even if you get hooked - because this is part of the game. It still is a team game. Your team should save you. AS you should save others.

If you don´t like that - that is your problem and maybe then not your game. But you are playing.

And you can´t dictate how anyone "has to" play. If some want to be silent and do nothing it is up to him and probably bad your team - but then it is that way. Nobody is forced to do anything.

If he manages to escape then - as we know - this was a pretty skillful play.

  • We still have the left and right button free on controller.

    Just add two more gestures.

  • No one use it anyways.

There are a lot of unuseful perks. And there will be more as they have to invent with every new chapter that comes out.

The overall top perks will stay there for a while.

  • Hey - reminder - it is still beta - you can deactivate the new wiggle in the options.

It don´t like the new system.

It is distracting and kinda annoying for me.

I really really hope they keep it optional. I want my old wiggle please.

No keyboard or stick breaking speed is required here for it to work - even some don´t know that.

  • NOED can be countered by cleansing all totems in game or cleansing the lit up one when gates are open.

That is not that mega strong.

Good team run searching the totem the moment one gets downed and NOED pops up.

And a lot of normal players know it maybe there but choose by their own to ignore totems during the match.

The excuse "no time to cleanse" doens´t count anymore as there is enough time to boon - multiple times.

This is a nice perk - in reality highly unreliable - to punish survs for their own ignorance.

And to remember - the game is not over when the fifth gen pops.

  • @Sludge said:

The funny part is that if you keep your MMR low it is easy. You get punished for getting kills, which increases MMR and gives you harder games which means it's harder to pip.

Yes. That is the reason i don´t get their MMR. Sadly i think they just don´t want to admit it.

The emblems measure your skill in different areas and that is good.

This should be the MM basis. They need to tweak it but it still works that way. Scrap this MMR.

  • I think for some people this is not the right game to play.

... but but but i have the right to win. Nobody has that.

That is a player vs player game - with 2 opposite goals to achieve. If one side is better it will always be annoying or frustrating for the other side.

Killer has to kill - Survs have to escape - by any means. That is the game. That has to be the fun.

How you achieve this is irrelevant - as we know - Kills/Escapes=Skill.

You have to accept that - if you like it or not.

  • What are you talking about?

We heard countless times that the grades only measure time played as they are not used for MM.

So if you play much you "easy" get to Iri 1 you read here all the time.

But wait... maybe you still have to play pretty well to rank up your grades?

  • It is maybe just too expensive to do it. It was said that MS and Sony want money for it.

  • I faced some strange killers too these days.

One perk with some strange movement but very precise. Now you wonder if these are bots...

The Stranger Things and All Kill chapters are like the most popular chapters In dbd. Buffy would fit perfectly 7 seasons of Incredible episodes like hush, the body, the wish, becoming, once more with feeling, graduation day, the gift, and seeing red. It has slasher, horror, comedic, emotional, sci fi, themes maybe go rewatch or watch the show!

    I remember Hush was amazing.

  • Today is the normal MM.

Didn’t need to be a dick about it, Jesus. If I bought a cdkey for the Stranger Things bundle, I’ve seen people say that you can link the accounts together to get the progress on both. Is that true?

Sorry - should not be mean.

Only some forget that Steam and Epic are different companies.

Click on Info & Help at top of the screen. I don´t know if this includes your dlc. A Mod has to answer that.

    What platforms is Cross-Progression on?

As of right now, cross-progression is between Steam, Stadia and Epic Games Store.

Will I be able to transfer all my purchases to a different platform?

For the most part yes, however Auric Cells and some virtual goods will not transfer due to licencing restrictions.

  • Can you enter a Netflix gift card on your Amazon account?

    No.

Epic and Steam are not related - they are 2 different companies - so that doesn´t work.

Sadly no Stranger Things on Epic ever.

  • You are right.

Just played Demo for the daily. Red Team was clearly better than me.

Even if i know this it still is super frustrating when they play around you while you can´t get them. Yesterday everybody went from pallet to pallet to pallet with little tbags and clicks - yes, it was on the Game - so a lot of them.

That are these annoying teams which really make you hate playing killer.

    How often you get nurses?

But she should not be nerfed as she is the only "high mmr scare" in the game.

    Really miss playing on Hawkins...

  • I guess this may be too much work.

Everybody would rather want old Freddy.

But it is a fact that they could not get the license for it.

Then just make it so only you can use it. making it a fairly strong perk for medic classes without being too overwhelming with whole teams healing themselves. also the meta should not be just put a boon down and let them heal themselves. also half the time the teammate will have to run across the map to even get in the radius so its just more time being lost

That is not the purpose of this boon perk. If you want to heal yourself take self care or a medkit or inner healing.

This is a special team perk. And for this it is pretty good.
