Yep, I had to play on my pc earlier just to crossplay, but like bruh I just wanted to play on my switch 2 but they just had to release a random patch, idk if it’ll come soon but it gets annoying having to deal with this especially because I have a switch 2 and enjoy playing on there, but cmon BHVR is there a reason the beta hub has a switch 2 listing as a platform getting updated? Unless that means a native port in the works, but right now it’s a genuine pain in the ass you guys are dragging a newer system down with its original, like yes switch 1 is old and it needs time for proper patching now, but a switch 2 port can at least fix the delays and give us switch 2 owners a better experience, so many people turn down switch 2 because it’s capped at the switch 1 settings and runs it slightly better, but the system has more potential but backwards compatibility is the only option, and it’s crazy considering it’s been a year since the system has been out, but I’d think that would be enough time to at least get something done right? A native port would fix the issues switch 1 has, better graphics, better connection for parties, 60 fps, and no patch delays. Please tell me something is going on, like an actual native port and a upgrade pack

Betahub lists all platforms that the game is played on, and the game is played on Switch 2.

There is nothing new on our side regarding any updates for Switch or a dedicated port I'm afraid.

  • Having the Killer be able to be spectated would be something we would not do, it would make matches incredibly one sided - killer has NOED, the dead survivor is going to call that out to their team mates. Its not something that could work in an asymetrical game.

  • Yea the strange numbers (I honestly have no idea exactly what they mean myself), are there because of the Rift end and Switch not being on the newer update so is unable to get the new Rift yet. As soon as this patch is released for Switch then the Rift will be available (and there should be some Rift Fragments made available to Switch players for the time they missed).

  • The Trickster skin is actually bugged and shouldn't look like that - the team is actively working on a fix for it.

  • Hi, sorry about this - its something that's being investigated on our side as to why it's not showing up for people

  • We are unable to assist with any Player Support related enquiries, and if its an EAC ban then it can only be appealed via EAC.

  • This is switched off temporarily, we still see everything that users have uploaded, but that's limited to us right now to ensure privacy for users of the platform.

It has no effect on the temperature or the severity of a bug report.

  • We are unable to assist with Player Support tickets but an Agent does review and respond, as you received an initial response from them but were unable to answer the security questions with your account.

So much for inspiring confidence, eh? 😥

Oh well. Gotta wait and see. I have a pre-built PC that does have software on it that came with said PC. I keep things updated wherever possible but I don't feel like tinkering with the BIOS if it comes to that. Praying that, indeed, it won't come to that.

my response was very tongue in cheek. Not meant to convey there will be issues at all.

The reason why the list would be problematic is that its every different manufacturer under the sun so we'd never be able to cover every possible one and every possible driver in a public list - there'd always be something left off, which is then more problematic.

Its very much about making sure your software is up to date as the drivers to these things are the ones likely to be flagged the most as they are the most vulnerable to attacks.

  • @MarbleThrone said:

Either this all goes smoothly or become an absolute nightmare.

we hope for the former, but prepare for the latter!

  • With this, it means that software that you have on your system so things like software that controls RBG lighting will need to be updated, the older versions are vulnerable which cheats piggybacking off them (so to speak).

If you do not update, the game will not start and you will get a message telling you what needs to be updated / removed.

The list is extensive, depending on the software, manufacturer etc so we're unable to provide a full list.

  • There is no DbD Mobile as that has been closed for quite some time, and there is no plans to bring that back.

  • Bloodletting Shirt for Dwight was part of a very specific promotion that required players to use real money to obtain. It is not something that will return I'm afraid.

  • If you're noticing changes to a character and it is not mentioned in the patch notes, you can 100% assume it is a bug or an unintended side effect. We don't make shadow nerfs…and believe me, if we were nerfing Nurse in any way, we'd highlight it!

  • I'm going to ignore the rudeness in your post as you're clearly frustrated. But to answer the question about why the Disconnect Penalty punishes you when you disconnect from a game either due to your internet issues or for leaving the match - you are still ruining the game for the other players in the match. And there is no way that a system can tell whether you deliberately messed with your internet in order to avoid disconnect penalties so when the player leaves by any means (other than "abandon") they receive a disconnect penalty.

We keep the initial one low because we know that real life things happen and understand that sometimes something might come up that means you have to leave the game. But these should be few and far between.

  • There is no plans to bring back the mobile version of the game.

  • image.png

    it does though.

Sooner than months makes me hopeful considering the upcoming dev stream.

We won't be covering it for the Community Stream this month, that is already set up on what we will be covering from a Live Balance perspective.

  • There is no extension happening for the Anniversary Event, I'm afraid. You can see what's coming up for the rest of the summer period on the July Roadmap however:

    image.png
  • Don't have more information on the MMR update to share right now, but can certainly say we will have more information in the coming months (probably sooner than months).

  • Part of the whole gameplay loop as a survivor is that you do not know what killer you are facing, it defeats the purpose if you can pick and choose what you want to play against. It also limits players choice on the killer side - and will increase queue times for them immensely. So there is no intention to put a block list into the game.

I really appreciate you taking the time to explain all this. As a long-time killer main though, it’s hard not to feel discouraged when so many existing killers and add-ons badly need updates and sit untouched for years.

New chapters are exciting, but the core roster is what keeps a live game healthy, and right now a lot of us feel like older killers are being left behind. I really hope bandwidth planning can start prioritizing more frequent balance passes and reworks on the existing cast, even if that means slightly scaling back what ships in some chapters, because we want this game to feel good long-term, not just when a new killer drops.

Also, I just want to say thank you to you and the rest of the Live Design team specifically. I know you’re working on the existing game and not the new chapters themselves, and as someone who plays a lot of killer I really appreciate that there’s a dedicated team thinking about long-term health and balance.

If it would be helpful for you, I’m sure many of us would be more than happy to provide focused feedback on specific killers, add-ons, or pain points you’re looking at for existing designs. Sometimes it’s hard to know what’s most useful to you from our side, so if you ever need targeted notes or examples, please let us know what kind of information would actually help your team.

As always, Happy Gaming Fog Warriors!

honestly, its always helpful when there's specific constructive feedback on specific killers, definitely helps us to narrow down where the issues are, what areas of the kit need buffing - what problems you feel with the current design is always a good starting point.

  • This is not currently live no, it was something that was given out very early on.

It does make sense, even if it isn't ideal.

Would I be correct in asserting that we might be more likely to get smaller perk tweaks in content release PTBs? Not guaranteed, still, but because that takes up less bandwidth it might be more likely?

yes you would be correct there, and that is the intention, some chapters though are more involved than others, so those ones are slightly less.

I do appreciate you taking the time to answer, even if it isn't necessarily what I was hoping to hear, haha.

Hopefully the pace of balance changes doesn't slow too much, then. Personally, I only worry about midchapters with no new content getting more infrequent with more releases per year, but I'm sure something can be done about that.

yeah I hear you on that, and the player part of me feels the same.

The plan is for major changes to be in the mid chapters, there might still be smaller changes in Chapter Releases, depending on what bandwidth is available, but those are not guaranteed (cos of the bandwidth) but I also think having major updates on a mid chapter when there's no new content being added is a wise move.

Regarding the comments on making changes without testing them, and then having something broken in the game for X amount of time - we've been there before and seen the discourse that it causes so its not something we will aim to do at all. Having them tested and in the PTB is our intention, my team works very very closely with the Live Design team (this is the team who handle the live game, not new content) and we're constantly discussing the feedback we receive and what is planned for upcoming patches etc.

When we have large killer updates, that eats into the bandwidth that's available, and then there's minimal, if any, changes elsewhere as well, so that affects priorities heavily. It's a balancing act between what will improve the game for X amount of people vs Y amount of people sometimes, as whilst we'd love to do more constantly and are investigating many different ways, we are limited with what can realistically be achieved within the time frames available.

  • It's things that we're looking at, we always try to get as much in each patch as possible…just when its a chapter release then the focus has to be there and that leaves very little (if any) bandwidth for anything else.

Production shedules are so tight on many things given how long some things naturally take, so anything with VFX, animations, programming and then testing. So having any sort of a scale to say that each PTB needs X amount of changes is not possible, a killer update for example is a bit more than tweaks but ultimately doesn't change the power too much and its just not possible with the current bandwidth to get two updates in a patch. And then the larger reworks need to be scheduled in for when there is the extra bandwidth in order to be able to do the work involved.

We'd love to be able to bring you more live design changes, as we are very very aware that we have a big game with plenty of things that need updating and we do try to get the max in each patch. its just unfortunate the reality of how much time is taken up with each individual thing.

I think they probably did mistype one of the numbers. Probably the heal quest tbh, I reckon it should have been much higher. They'd have all the stats and know the numbers.

I do think that's what happened, a missing 0 or something

  • Just spoke with the Team about this one to check the numbers, they'll take a look and do some adjustments if necessary! Thanks for bringing it up here..

  • We deployed a fix to this a few minutes ago, restarting your game now should fix it - please let me know!

  • Its still early to say about next years Anniversary, we will have some discussions and understand where the bug happened last year. Then decide from there, we will let you know much much nearer when the time comes to let you all know where our position is regarding offerings.

Can you not extend to the end of the anniversary event? It's our 10th year anniversary event and bloodhunts became so rare.

What is a contra argument to not extend it by the end of the Black Banquet?

there's no plans to extend that far unfortunately.

  • The Bloodhunt is being extended by 24hrs and we should be able to get a fix for that bloodweb issue out later today.

Hi there. I have just closed my game and re-opened and it’s still frozen. I can go into matches as Rick / Daryl, I just can’t progress their bloodweb anymore. It isn’t frozen on any other survivors and I’m not sure what caused it to glitch in the first place as I was just spending BP whilst I waited for my match to load. I’m on PS5 if that’s relevant.

Thanks for responding back, its been raised to the team internally who are investigating it. sorry but I don't have any eta on a fix as of right now.

  • Can you fully reboot the game please, and then see if the bloodweb loads?

(I know you said you did this previously, but i'm working on a timeframe of things in the backend, that's why I ask)

  • Switch will be up to a week after other platforms for receiving Bugfix Patch 2 as advised in the FAQ regarding this linked below.

FAQ for Nintendo Switch Release Time Changes – Dead by Daylight

There are currently no plans for a specific Switch 2 update.

  • Unfortunately Player Support are incredibly busy with tickets at the moment and it also depends on what the ticket is concerning - game ban appeals will normally be dealt with pretty quickly. Also anything related to social media will get answered later as player support have nothing to do with social media so those tickets come under a lower priority. So whilst first come first served is the ideal way we work, there's other things that take priority with tickets which can leave some tickets taking longer to answer than others.

  • @BloodBehemoth said:

Is this effective immediately, or is this in next week's patch?

its effective immediately, you might need to restart game though

  • For those that haven't yet seen, we have updated on Twitter (I will forever refuse to say X):

Following player reports, we have been investigating why the Toothy Torte offering is appearing less than the previous year, and while we have not completed our investigation into why the previous year granted more than the intended amount, we have made the decision to increase the current guaranteed amount of Toothy Tortes so that each level of the Bloodweb will have at least one offering to guarantee 50 offerings per Prestige Level for the rest of the Event, this replaces the current Mystery Boxes that spawn. Event items will still spawn in the Bloodweb normally.

We know this has been a massive source of frustration for players and we apologize that this has taken as long as it has, we want everyone to enjoy the rest of the Anniversary Event and the Bloodhunt. Happy 10 years of Dead by Daylight!

  • @vol4r said:

@Mandy does this all mean that rarity will be common, BUT drop rate will be the same as it is right now?

Or will we be getting more? 17-19 cakes for 1.1m doesn't feel great on survivior.

the offering rarity isn't connected to its drop rate, just the cost of the item.

  • @MarbleThrone said:

But nothing addressing the balance problems of the actual event itself.

Could there be a statement about that too, perchance?

we're aware of issues with the gameplay, unfortunately we have no planned changes for during the Event, this is a first iteration of a new type of Event and the feedback is going back to Designers for future iterations.

  • We do not talk about a persons bans here, but I will answer some questions

Bans do not reset over time, and the temporary ban escalation and time is also at the discretion of Player Support, they can increase the ban times or remove one part of the escalation if they feel the infraction is egregious enough.

  • I would say (as someone who sees the data) yes Disconnect Penalties are definitely necessary, whenever penalties are switched off the DC rate increases vastly.

  • We are so very sorry for your loss, we're glad that you've been able to relive some of the memories that you have through the Hinako cosmetic. Thank you for sharing your story.

  • I'm going to close this because it seems as if many of you cannot seem to have a mature discussion without throwing insults around - reminder here that this is a mature rated game and we actually expect people to behave in a mature fashion on this forum, which many in this thread are failing to do.

Criticism is fine, its welcome - throwing insults and personally attacking people is not!

  • Bugfix Patch 1 is not available on Switch - they receive a Bugfix Patch 2 which is a combined patch of both updates.

Unfortunately there is nothing that you can do to resolve this on that platform, crossplay will be enabled once all platforms are on the same version again which is currently scheduled for early in July.

  • Thank you for the interest shown in translating and for expressing interest in Greek language support.

We do have in-house translation services, this is not something we would have volunteers for - but thank you very much for offering its very kind of you.

  • @Chomperka said:

Its obvious AI. I expect Terrifier chapter to be fully or mostly AI generated by BHVR to test the waters. They took unpopular license on purpose so no one would really care about it, so backlash wouldn't be that big. Still ,we must boycott behaviour when that happens because…

using AI for Art is unacceptable!

you would be very incorrect, it is not AI!

  • The Meet Your Maker cosmetics are exempt from Cross Progression, the cosmetics are related to the platform that both games were purchased on - hence the "platform exclusive" part. I know this is not likely what you want to hear, and I'm sorry about that. But unfortunately these are some of the cosmetics that are not part of cross progression.

  • Thanks for posting here, we're checking on this now to see what the issue is! We'll let you know as soon as we hear something
