  • Thank you for your interest in DbD Mobile, but this forum is for the core game. There are no plans for a mobile version any longer.

So why is it now that killers can browse survivor profiles and dodge if they don't like what they see? Seeing the survivor avatars in the lobby is one thing, but I don't understand why you can see each other's profile info.

That has always been intended, that the killer can see what survivors they face and adjust their loadout based on what they're seeing - flashlights, toolboxes etc. Its part of being the more powerful role.

Oh that is nothing its interesting when they claim you are cheater when using Mad Grit. Its fun to walk around hitting M1 as Nemesis with it.

    or with Spirit!

  • This was something that was kind of in the game at the start, you could see the profile of the killer and from that deduce what killer you were playing against. It is not something we will go back to for a multitude of reasons but one in particular - is that Survivors can quite easily change their build to counter the killer ie put on Calm Spirit when facing a Doctor. Its definitely not what we intend for the game.

I have had matches where someone called me a cheater because I pulled them out of a locker that I followed their scratchmarks to and the kicker was their friend was streamer and they both were claiming I was cheating when there was nothing suspicious of what I did. Just the lack in their own knowledge of the information I had.

you're not the only one, I got called a cheater and I was using Eruption, people often forget that Aura's are part of that perk, same as Undying.

These are all topics from the July 2025 AMA from 8 months ago. From plans to internal discussions to updates with no ETA. Even the minimum of updates to these topics would be appreciated, like just saying that the offering updates is now in development and not on an internal discussion.

I’m just genuinely confused. Whole heartedly. I mean no malice behind this, I just don’t get how after 8 months we have no news on any of these topics discussed back in July. After 8 months? Genuinely nothing, not an ounce of anything? It just doesn’t seem possible and that’s probably why the community feels the way they do.

BHVR has broken trust with the community one too many times and has made little effort to repair….well any of it. Here’s an off the wall example.

“Hey guys we hear you, genuinely! We are always listening that’s why we are listening to your feedback regarding blight”

Right. I get that..I respect that, but it’s been 6 long years that feedback has fallen on what it felt like deaf ears 👂 until recently when BHVR said oh no we heard you.

I can say with certainty that most of us truly don’t feel heard nor appreciated on these forums. A lot of this is due to the broken trust. Why can’t/wont BHVR make effort to repair that? Care about us enough to fix it? We are here because we care. We just want to feel the same way back. ❤️

I don’t feel like it’s asking for much.

I'm going to step in here and hopefully offer some clarity. First of all thank you for the questions and for the patience that you have shown.

When we responded to those questions and advised that they were things in discussion, often there are things that we would love to do, but they are considered to be a lower priority or affect other things and therefore the scope widens which then leaves bandwidth issues. The current situation as it stands that these things are not on our scheduling yet, which doesn't mean that we're not working on them or have changed our minds on things, just that priorities have changed and that likely these things are lower down the list of priorities - for the last question regarding new players, those are things that are done in small patches so for example, showing team mates perks, being able to hover over team mates perks and learn what they do in custom games (which is coming next release), the UI progress bar update etc - all those things contribute to the new player experience.

Tutorials are a massive one and we've had MANY conversations on how this should be done, its not easy - if it were we would have done it already! But for many different killers, its very difficult to do a Tutorial that encompasses all those things. Its impossible to create tutorials for every killer and have them in the build from a size perspective, imagine how big the downloads will be for one thing, plus there's the scoping of everything that has to be done for it.

We do not have infinite resources, there's only so much time in a day, there's only so much that can fit in the patch and the joys of a live game are that there is always something that pushes the priority of something else and it might be related to things that are upcoming so whilst you don't see the priority on something changing, you do not have the full picture on things:

The Production process on a game is not a simple one, there's many different developers of many different departments and they each have their own needs, that have to be juggled and prioritised, its not always just about design, and what our designers would like to change, but about what has to change because of some upcoming things. We plan very far ahead, so things we're talking about now internally, we're looking at 2028 / 2029 before those things will be implemented unless its considered urgent enough that it requires re-prioritising of something, which will then drop something else down the priority list.

TLDR things are not forgotten about, but they might not have the same priorities or require more technical impacts than initially scoped for, which adjusts what we can do.

they reverted the buffs from PTB because they ended up not going through with removing haste and hindered stacking, otherwise I'm 99% sure they would've kept them

I don't believe we would have kept them no, the PTB showed how problematic it would be when faster so I would not expect any buff to that perk.

  • There's no plans to change any perks at the release of Diminishing Returns, we will be doing a lot of assessing before we make changes as we fully expect things to need adjusting when the feature is live.

On a more serious note: Was it a techical issue at Vanilla (the hosting platform), that caused everything to become bright white?
And also, the various things like points, views and stuff we normally don't see, it really added more depth into the scoring system, and how things work.
Third: When will the ability to change profile avatars be a thing again?

    1. yes they did an update and it broke all the theming we had
    2. yes there's things that can be switched on / off on our side depending on requirements
    3. I do not think that's returning as it's not showing in their future plannings.

  • There are no plans to remove Anon Mode, the whole point of it was to give a level on anonymity to the player - which it does very well, especially our Content Creators. It does not stop players reporting that player, nor stop them talking in the chat, which is basic to every PC platform as it is not designed to do that - it is not there to police the player who wishes to remain anonymous. The reporting system handles issues with players, whether they are anonymous or not.

  • We do not officially take ban appeals for social media accounts, however Steam does have an option to respond to the ban message, but I must warn you, our rules there (same as they are here) are very strict on specific things and if you had a permanent ban without warnings, I can imagine the type of "joke" you made, which is something that's clearly covered in our rules.

Im sorry but what kinda consultants are you hiring if they saying to give a .05 buff to a killer or 1 second off a cooldown? You may need to reevaluate having them if they doing this again.

Furthermore I hope Devs realize these miniscule buffs are absolutely not good enough and they give more substantial buffs in the live release. Literally everyone agrees this was the most disappointing part of the patch.

For the live release there might be some slight changes, but definitely nothing major - we are aware there's things in the game that requires more time and bandwidth and by no means are we saying that's all these characters will ever get.

  • One of the biggest parts of the problem with the old DC system is that it often left survivors having to complete extra gens, as the gen count didn't reduce unless someone dc'd during loading. The bot situation resolves that, I get that they're not great in chases and go down pretty instantly, but at least they do help the remaining Survivors complete gens, make saves, heal etc. It is definitely preferable to having only a 3 man if someone DC's early into the match. What exactly is the issue you are having with bots?

  • The number changes were suggested by our Consultants, as things that can be done by a Designer without programming bandwidth. There might be slight number adjustments to the live release based on the PTB feedback, that still remains to be seen.
Why they are not directly in the game, is that they have to go through a release cycle, so they'd be with the next release. The next release is what this PTB content is including. There's no way to put them into the game without a release.

If there's any changes to be made from the Killer survey, they'll be in later releases, we work many months ahead.

  • @KingOfGhost said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4072343#Comment_4072343

They have repeatedly said that PTB exists for testing and that the whole point is to evaluate changes. But almost every time, they push the changes through anyway, unless the community response is overwhelmingly negative.

which is exactly what the PTB is - we adjust based on the feedback. As you've said we've not gone through with something when it's overwhelmingly negative, or when we can see in live play it's different that it was perceived to be.

For this PTB we're heavily focusing on the Diminishing Returns, looking for issues etc that didn't come up in our playtesting as it's very different when you have thousands of people playtesting something, rather than just designers or consultants. As well as the Blight changes.

The number tweaks to the killers admittedly don't need much testing, they were never meant to be massive changes as we didn't have the bandwidth to do programming changes just what Designers could change themselves safely without issues. They could have just been pushed live when we release this chapter but they have to be in the PTB build.

With that being said, mod already commented saying camping an entire death from first hook to sacrifice is not right, therefore I won't be making anymore comments on this issue, thanks for your participation.

that is completely inaccurate, please do not spread misinformation - the Coordinator was saying that survivors going AFK was promoting negative gameplay behaviour, which is forbidden on this platform, it was a nice way of warning you before an official warning was given!

  • @DemonicDemons said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4071767#Comment_4071767

To be fair I'm not encouraging negative gameplay behaviors, I'm simply stating the double standard, if a killer feels like they can't get another hook or kill near or during end game collapse according to these other commenters it's okay to camp the hook because what else are they suppose to do? The games already over in their eyes but they're not ok if it was the other way around and a survivor does it. I'm glad you're the voice of reason, neither scenario is right.

the difference is, the killer is progressing the game even by camping, a survivor doing nothing and effectively AFK is not.

Even for some of the smaller changes? Every killer change in this patch as far as Im aware are just small number tweaks. Can there not be a limited time gamemode where its only those killers that can be played with their slightly modified stats?

we'd still have all the certifications and localisations

  • One thing to consider with all of this, is certification. Right now we can put things on the PTB branch of steam with relative ease, even if the build is not fully polished - all translations done etc. That is not something we could do on part of the main game, also the certification process takes time, our production timelines would have to change pretty drastically meaning there would be less time for changes to the game etc.

Isn't it normal for Legion players, in their bloodlust, to see people in closets with killer instincts? Or am I misunderstanding something? I mainly play Legion, and as far as I know, that's always been possible. Why would that be a bug?

Seeing survivors hiding in lockers with killer instinct, is not a bug…there's another bug with the locker interactions which I'm referring to.

  • @Dayyay said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4070695#Comment_4070695

but why the discrepancy of bug fixes, like this isn’t just a small bug affecting xyz moments. This is a whole character removed for a very extended period of time. Why not put major efforts to fix this and get them back into the game now instead of waiting for the next update

you also have to consider things like certifications with platform holders, it's not so easy when it's outside of our regular bugfix schedule. I appreciate that people are unhappy about not being able to play the killer that they want, but the bug does need to find a solution, plus to the one being able to see into lockers, then the builds have to be built, tested, go to certification etc.

  • Legion will return the next time the game has an update, which will be when the current PTB releases onto Live.

  • If something is not in patch notes, you can safely assume it's not always intended so please head over to Betahub and make a bug report for QA to take a look at - thank you!

The Fast Track that's in the PTB is not going to be the one that goes Live….we're making adjustments from PTB (that we already have planned) so I wouldn't say nerf for the final version but more of a sidegrade.

  • I am going to close this, its not the place for it. If anyone does have information to share regarding serious issues around creators, then please send in a player support ticket. Thank you.

I'm wondering what others think of being a match with other survivors and a killer who are forcing you to farm instead of playing the match normally. I've seen how this goes, if you don't play along with whatever they want, then you'll get tunneled out or killed and the killer will let the others escape because they did farm in a way the killer wanted.

I'd personally want a normal match. If the killer wants to farm at the very end then yeah whatever. But if you're loading in and all you're doing is just forcing people to farm with you? Is that not reportable?

That is reportable yes, especially if it's survivors and killers working together to farm and you want a normal match and are being forced into the farming.

Personally when those things happen, I try to do the gens, get out of the match as quickly as possible - farming is not fun. It's a super grey area though, but its definitely reportable.

Fair enough I do agree with the adjustments being good, but have you played against dissolution using Ghoul? it kind of removes said counterplay. This is also really strong on Krasue also, there is still some interactions with this killer that can be really oppressive and these pain points are definately worth exploring.

I'm against nerfing a perk because of a killer, Ghoul's free hit basically makes this really easy to get value out of, pair that with the vault tech being one of the main counterplays, we have an issue

not denying that the players feel there's issues with a character at all - Dissolution aside, which could very well be a perk issue and not a killer specific issue, hard to tell without looking at that closer, there's definitely some things which I think could be looked at more with Ghoul, but it's not something we're moving on right now. (I'm not saying never here, just explaining why it's not being done now).

  • Ghoul is not in a position right now where he's overperforming - we've also made adjustments and bug fixes to a few things, we don't feel he's in the position where a hard nerf is warranted at this time, the revault is now even easier to do, so it should make more counterplay against the Ghoul.

  • I don't want to leave the feedback without a comment and of course we will share with the Team, but please be aware at this stage of production the design is pretty much set - it's balancing that has to happen now.

The few clips Ive seen made it seem so 😭, the beam looks so dang easy to hit

please remember this is a prototype, balancing is not done yet - just the design gates. This is where we see whether the power is working as intended, things like timings, cooldowns and stuff like that all comes a bit later in the process when we start balancing it.

The Content Creators had an early preview so that we could show you part of that design process - they do clearly state that the balancing part is not yet implemented.

  • You need to be posting on more platforms, TikTok numbers are not enough to be able to join the Creator Programme with. I suggest looking at video content on youtube in order to grow on that platform as well.

  • Yes, luckily certification came through early so now Switch is on the same release number as all other platforms, so crossplay is once again in effect!

  • Switch being able to crossplay with other platforms will return approximately a week after bugfix patch 2 releases - it releases later on Switch, when its out on all platforms, then crossplay will be re-enabled.

We do have the FAQ which carries this (and other information) on it:

I’ve just loaded up the game to see if I’m able to purchase auric cells from the in-game store and they appear for me now and I no longer review the error message.

I’m not sure if it’s resolved itself for the other people in this thread though.

This one that's purely AC's is different and not a sync issue unfortunately, its an issue that we believe we'd resolved on our side a few days ago…which is why I'm following up here on this one
