If they only prioritize fast queues for the most popular role (Killer) and the match quality is terrible, the MMR makes absolutely no sense.
-
Survivor has been repetitive and boring for many years.
-
@cogsturning said:
The queues are long because of Jason. I usually play both roles but I've barely played survivor since he came out, and I haven't touched surv at all since the first day of the event. The 1v4 queues are too long so I've been playing killer in the event during the brief points when the wait time is acceptable to me. Despite all the survivor-sided claims, I'm winning almost all my matches there.
Until Jason either gets meaningful changes or his appearances greatly reduce I probably won't be playing much survivor for the foreseeable future. Soloq is 100% off the table.
The funny thing is, I’ve seen few Jasons in the event queu compared to the regular queu.

I have the same problem, and I also play on Playstation 5

Any updates in regards to this with the Live release coming in a week
If people continue buying it to win matches without skill requirements, it will remain the king of pay to win games.

Any updates in regards to this with PTB ending soon ❤️
I just want Kaneki's counterplay to be fair because currently you can't do much when you throw a pallet or jump a window, it's a free hit all the time.
-
@Mandy said:
Just to let you know, am having many discussions around Kaneki at the moment - so as soon as I know what will happen with the revault, I will update!
Please Mandy, just make playing against Ghoul fair and fun. I'm tired of my teammates disconnecting all the time.
-
It's similar to a ghoul, low skill, very effective, and the survivors hate it; the prototype that loves behavior.
-
If the killers mains don't get 4k kills in every game, then we'll never see any real changes from this pathetic company.
-
They've weakened most maps and loops, just look at Swamp, Coldwind, and Crotus Prenn Asylum destroyed by Behavior, and you still want to weaken even more maps? Nice try, sweaty 4k killer
-
It kicks me out of the game on the offering screen, it's sad that such an important chapter ends like this.

@JimbusCrimbus said:
If you require a pallet to be safe in order to be good, that's entirely a skill issue. An abundance of safe pallets overall is objectively bad design. There's no gameplay with safe pallets. There is only "lolbreakpallet". It's not a show of skill. There is no skillful play for a safe pallet on either killer or survivor.
If you think a pallet has to be safe to be good, you're not very good at the game. Plain and simple. Any other opinion is cope.
So killers need weak loops and unsafe pallets to be truly good? Can't we find a balance?

unfortunately i think this is currently a difficult issue to address. i've been seeing them pop up more frequently recently too. they're all over tiktok especially. the best thing you can do is simply report and discourage people from purchasing these services.
I reported their stream. I report every cheater I see in the game, but very few reports actually result in action being taken against them.
-
@AbsolutGrndZer0 said:
While this is a problem, you're breaking forum rules here. This is a name and shame. Report it to BHVR using the proper report feature, not with a forum post.
I deleted the image. I think you were right, sorry. But i'm so tired of cheaters

@Balrog said:
Were you able to grab any screenshots of any of the problem areas?
There were many posts with photos of the short horrible loops that still exist on many maps, but I think you all forgot about that post.
-
The farm maps only have short unsafe loops; they forgot to fix them in the patch. Many maps are still quite bad and should be addressed in the future.

It might also only be affecting custom games for all I know. Will have to test this more extensively.
Update: Can confirm that the pallets spawn correctly in normal matches, as was the case with both Midwich and Hawkins
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/KJRH2MBK709L/20251212090437-1.jpg
Unfortunately, I haven't played Midwich in the map rotation, but I did play on Lery and saw some dead zones where there used to be pallets.

Pretty sure that is a bug. I played both after the 9.3.2 update hit live servers, and had normal pallet spawns on both of those maps.
I don't know, they're making changes to many maps that nobody asked for, and the new loops are really bad.
-
I played a custom game on Midwich Primary and Hawkins Lab. It's true they removed a lot of pallets and left a lot of dead zones on the map. I hope it's a mistake and that they don't keep weakening maps that were already on the killer's side.

Am I the only one who finds it odd that there was no pallet in this entire tile? Or am I blind and just didn't see it? This was like a tunneler's dream…

I think they've weakened too many loops with the latest updates, they should try to balance it for both sides.
-
They need to work more on the playable quality of the maps; nobody asked for such drastic changes as Crotus Prenn, where they removed all the pallets from the first floor of the main building, and the map is now much smaller than before.

If you're able to, it'd be incredibly helpful to see screenshots of the dead zones and unsafe pallets you're referring to on these maps. That way, I can share them with the team.
Sorry Ryan, I'm a console player and it would be difficult for me to upload those kinds of pictures to the forum. Many photos above show the unsafe loops and dead zones that remain on many maps. I hope you can achieve a balance like it was before the first palette update. Thank you.

Just popping in here to say that I'll be keeping an eye on this thread so I can pass folks' thoughts on to the team :)
I wrote a similar post in the patch notes, but in my opinion, after testing in custom games, Autohaven, Macmillan, and Crotus Penn did a great job; it's the path to good balance. Swamps, Ormond, Yamaoka, Coldwind Farm, and Haddonfield (the latter two weren't mentioned in the patch notes) need a review; they still have too many dead zones and too many unsafe, nonsensical palettes. I hope you continue to read your players' feedback, thanks ;)
-
The palette density continues to be terrible on several maps, with extremely short and unsafe loops on the Swamp, Ormond, Yamaoka, Coldwind Farm, and Haddonfield, the latter two weren't even mentioned in the patch notes. I think you could have done a better job on these maps guys. Thanks.

they need to do one or the other. the -50% fill rate was supposed to be a compensation for the increased range with the new ramp up system. but since they walked backed on the range buff, the -50% is overkill. if they want to keep the 16 meter range, the -50% needs to go or at least fine tuned to -25% or -20%.
With such bad numbers, it's obvious it doesn't work.

In the patch notes they do use Anti-facecamp but wouldn't surprise me if they have also just called it anti camp.
Okay, thanks for that, but 16-meter anti face camp sounds weird, right?
-
@Brimp said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4035837#Comment_4035837
It was filling slowly because he was patrolling. It's anti-face camp meaning unless the killer is right next to hook for extended periods of time then it will fill slowly at best. Also, the fact that teammates can slow down the anti-face camp.
People need to understand this better and the teammates slowing it down thing made clearer. Big difference between standing right next to hook and coming within proximity of it repeatedly.It used to be anti face camp, now it's anti camp. They said in the developer stream, i think so.
-
@Junylar said:
They changed it, so now the killer has a greater grace period, and it starts filling much slower, only gaining speed with continuous filling. Allegedly, it is compensated by increased speed at the higher rates, so if the killer just facecamps you without leaving the radius, it will fill up faster than it did before. If the killer proxycamps, though, enters and leaves the camping radius, it will barely move. It was done because, as we all know, proxycamping is nearly nonexistent in the game, while the main problem is face camping, where killers don't move an inch, so the devs addressed the more pressing issue. I hope next time they do something about these annoying hatch standoffs and machinegun meta as well.
The killer was patrolling and the anti-camping bar was moving very slowly. Was this really their big change for campers? It seems exactly the same as before.

they cut down pallets! killers aren't running around tiles anymore. that's a straight-up buff, and you're calling it suffer the most? you're just contradicting yourself.
The killers just want to have fun and play the victim in every update that helps the survivors, so that it actually benefits them.
-
@azaxydbd said:
the problem isn't just how bad the tiles are(which they are, no bs), but also the server connection hit registry, as a survivor u get so many undeserved hits, especially when its a blight, u dodge him he still hit u with his shoulder, there are so many bugs that were not fixed for years. and they added another layer of them on it, if u want us to have such terrible tiles, fix the servers and change how the dsync and hitboxes work since its obviously not working well, killer should never have priority on hits, it should be ping and server which decide it, and servers should have high quality net.
The swamp has to be the worst map in the game right now, not only because of its terrible paletts but also because of all the bugs, including the ambient sound.

Importantly, the more specific you can be, the better. If there's a specific loop or tile that you feel is too strong, let us know which one it is - bonus points if you can provide screenshots!After all the feedback you've received on the forum about the terrible pallets update and awful loops, there's still no response or apology for the awful treatment of survivors. This patch was supposed to help survivors, but you've buffed killers once again. It's very sad.

The game was built around looping, because the thrill of the chase is the most fun aspect of DBD. Taking away looping is essentially changing the entire game as we know it, and that would upset pretty much every player. If there was a game mode that focused more on the Hide and Seek aspect of the game, then that would be fine, but making the whole game lack chase potential kills DBD's identity.
I agree that the developers should have removed the resistant loops they added in that update. But why did they remove most of the safe loops and make them all 50/50? And as if that weren't enough, they removed the anti-slug and anti-tunnel effects a second time, ruining the maps with the syringe and the astringent. But the survivors get a reward: 5 more seconds of the enduring status effect. I think they're not interested in this feedback, but they are interested in the killers' feedback, because they immediately post on Twitter and forums saying that changes that help survivors won't be released in the game.

you pretty much hit the nail on the head when you said its buying seconds before the inevitable down. Thats the way it has been designed, thats why killers are faster than survivors and even gain bloodlust, so eventually the killer will get the down. its just a matter when. killer needs to kill before gens get done so survivors have to buy time to allow gens to get done before the killer can kill. Survivors having safe areas where they have no fear of being downed knowing the killer will waste too much time simply shouldnt be a thing. Survivors should always feel threatened, at risk, its a horror game about a killer hunting them. The game lost its fear element as soon as survivors were able walk up to the killer, look them in the eye with very little risk because they know there are 3 strong loops next to them.
as for tunneliing, gen speeds being slowed down would reduce tunneling a little, wouldnt stop it completely because as long as its a viable option there are people that will do it even if they know they dont need to. But reducing the need to tunnel i believe would reduce the frequency, by how much, i couldnt say but as a tunneling killer, i wouldnt tunnel if i had more time so all of my opponents wouldnt see tunneling from me for a start. But im not saying nerf gen speeds and all killers will willingly suddenly stop tunneling, for that to happen hard nerfs are needed such as the first ptb so tunneling isnt an option.
The survivors should fall quickly because it's a horror game, and that way the killer can enjoy the experience. Sure my friend, everyone will want to play survivor with that idea.
-
All the help that could reach the solo queue only be destroyed in the PTB by the killers mains, and the developers must obey the bosses sure, sad...

thats your opinion but from what i have seen in these forums there are many that dont share that opinion. there are killers and survivors that would prefer a more casual, party game experience where skill, competitiveness and the must win mindset isnt at the core of the game.
how many causal survivors or killers just hop on the game now and then to get super competitive meta opponents? how many killers let the survivors escape or meme around?
personally i like the luck element to the game, if there was no rng every match would feel the same, its bad enough i get the same killers over and over i would hate to have same map over and over with the same pallet layout every time. im not really sure how you would achieve the whole thing of skill = win in this type of game when theres soloq, an amazingly skilled player can still lose because his 3 team mates refuse to touch gens but you cant force people to do gens if they dont want to.
And don't you think that if they had implemented the anti-slug and tunnel changes with minor adjustments it would have been a good step for player health?

From my POV, it looks rather silly. BHVR, please fix :)
Thankfully, the Bubba was just as baffled as we were, and he was being cool with us.I think the developers believe they did an excellent job and don't want to post on the forum to apologize or anything for releasing one of the worst patches in their history.

It's a common theme, that seems to affect a lot of people (myself included).
I feel like the updates this year would have benefited from significantly more playtesting. Both the pallet adjustments have heavily favoured one side with little regard to balance (or, at least, that is how they are widely percieved)
As for communication, respectfully, it still isn't great - across the board.
The question is, have they given up on the quality-of-life improvements they promised, or are they happy that their main killer players can get 4k kills with every killer on the roster with the current changes?

We're absolutely seeing all of it and gathering the feedback. We can't respond to everything, and this is very much a "listening" stage of the process since 9.3.0 just released. It's visible and we're not ignoring it, but sometimes without something substantive to communicate, there is a period of quiet. We do hear you and we do see you.
The feedback from the survivors feels weak and the killer's feels strong, this is your chance to show that you care about the survivors' side.

Otz and his streamer friends can continue to abuse the survivors and create their stupid content to fill their pockets with money, and he will continue to support this garbage.
-
I don't think the developers care about this feedback. But if Otz, Hens, and their crew release a video complaining that the changes don't favor the killers, then they'll care about that feedback and make the necessary changes to please their sacred cows.

That bald guy said it, and he must be one of the worst employees at your company, since you released two patches that were supposed to fix it, but with each patch you buffed the killers and ruined the survivors. And if that wasn't enough, you killed the syringe and the astringent, and ruined the maps with pallets so that even a killer with 10 hours of experience can take down a survivor. Have you been on this game in the last two hours? No? Ok so here is the issue:
You cant loop the current fillers, theyre too small now. All filler pallets are unsafe
You cant make it to the next loop, its too far away. and if you do make it, the refer to above point.But you clearly like being handed the game to you as a killer main. I hope you enjoy your 10 minute queue times when all the survivor mains uninstall.
They should enjoy the long queues and cry so that this behavior continues to destroy the survivors.
-
The killers must be having fun with their long queue times. But soon a killer-main streamer will come out crying, and the developers will console them by nerfing survivors even more.
