  • Hi, we are aware of these being missing - its not intended and they will be back!

  • I am so glad to hear that! A lot of work was done specifically for controllers for this Killer, it was part of the designers intentions to make it feel as good as possible using one, so hearing that feedback makes me very happy! Thank you for sharing!

this is a nice response but can you elaborate? why could this not have applied to every other killer except wesker?

Unfortunately there were some side effects that warranted the change, there was no change specifically to Ghoul in the PTB that was a happy side effect, unfortunately there were some pretty significant downsides for Wesker, which meant dialing things back.

  • This is a bug I'm afraid, one that the team is aware of now.

  • @sizzlingmario4 said:

Didn't it break Wesker even more though? Or was that something else

a massive part of it yes!

  • There's a little issue with some regions, we're working to resolve this and you should shortly see the DLC available to purchase.

The achievements are a separate issue and is not connected to the DLC not being available in some regions.

  • Yes, unfortunately we are unable to add any more achievements to Playstation at this time. It is something we're working on with our partners but unfortunately no ETA or guarantee that we will be able to increase the number available on there :(

I have a feeling this is something that can't be answered, but: will we the players, even if we don't know our own MMRs, actually know how the MMR breaks down (weighs) the various activities. Or will the exact specifics be a mystery, just that its more than escapes/deaths?

there's no plans to give the exact maths, no current plans at least. I can't speak about future as that could change, but for right now its not even in discussion.

I'll take anything I can get. Thanks, BHVR! Appreciate it.

If accessibility is the name of the game, then it's interesting how survivors who are deaf just still get wrecked by Spirit. It's a shame because I think Spirit is about the most fair and balanced "top tier" killer, if we can still call her that.

    that's for a whole other discussion…

  • yes, we'll be monitoring the feedback carefully and you can be sure we'll be discussing it heavily.

  • (and to be clear, that last comment is a joke….I hope you enjoy the release tomorrow @MechWarrior3 <3

I am not sure I understand why it was changed to begin with if there is any clarity to add. As mentioned. It was already tough in closer loops. Also survivors still now, have a good heads up with White Aura from far away showing their going to be hit by a celestial beam. It almost feels as if I am a little doomed either way I play the Character.

I guess to be clear, how does BHVR want us to play this killer? How is she supposed to be played?

its a slight change from the way it was coupled to the Delay State (so the time before Divine Light becomes lethal) in the PTB. It is now not linked to that at all (meaning things can be balanced seperately). It might well be that the number isn't completely accurate but the Team felt this was a safe number to start with to see how players understood the curve window in comparison to the PTB.

The number being adjustable will mean we can easily make adjustments.

  • @MiseryandCompany said:

Glad to see that the vignette is gone, but I think the 0.3 second redirection timer is too short. She was already hard in loops, this makes it even harder.

This is an adjustable number, so it is something we can edit - its not set in stone

I think what you need to do is separate out MMR and Matchmaking - both of those things are not the same.

I believe that's what I was doing, saying things other than MMR are the potential core issues.

And while they're different under the hood, the end result to the player is the same. If one of those is the best designed system in the world, and the other is broken, the end result doesn't work (and players have no way to know what went wrong).

If the problem is something else, fiddling with MMR is just window dressing to the problems.

With kills and escapes, only those were the outcome for the current MMR which was missing a massive part of the game, hence we looked at the system overall and looked at what were the important factors in the game.

Just for clarity, is BHVR walking back the logic that was done for the old system? That the reasons given for why just tracking the end result (hockey analogy) are no longer believed to be true?

Because I'm one of those who thought it made a lot of sense and have defended it, but if it was wrong, I'll take the loss if BHVR's evidence says it wasn't working.

The point of it keeping hidden is ultimately the number is meaningless to the vast majority of players, who play the game casually and do not care if they're high MMR or medium MMR (there's only a very small portion of players in that high mmr bracket after all). We don't want players to only focus on MMR and play in a way to maximise it, as its a number that's used for matchmaking only.

1: Are we going to learn the exact impacts of various MMR factors, or will those be a secret? Like what percent comes down to the escape/death?

2: I understand why MMR is not publicly shown, I don't even disagree, but its still the same issue that when a match up doesn't feel right people will blame MMR. The new system isn't going to fix that.

I agree for your final point there, players will still blame MMR - that's an unfortunate fact that happens in pretty much all games. There's no system that's perfect and its especially hard in an asymetrical game.

Kills and Escapes will still matter, its just that now they're not the only thing - it should address other things in a match, and I think that's been a lot of what players have said over the last few years. There are definitely big parts of that which do make sense - kills and escapes are one of the main constants in the game - so I don't think we're disagreeing here.

The game has changed a lot from what it was a few years ago, as have the players. We recognised that we could improve the system on how we calculate players MMR and we've worked to do that. Its been running in the background for a while as a kind of test (not impacting games, not used for matchmaking etc) and the data is looking good on it so far. It might need tweaking when its Live, we'll be keeping a close eye on it and making any adjustments as necessary.

Are there any plans to look at the lobby itself, in particular dodging and shopping around? Imo that too need to be addressed at the same time, as it too often leads to the rough backfills that causes lots of problems.

Its one of the things on my list, but that would be when we look at matchmaking overall

  • Will just post our response to the debate here for clarity.

Last Friday, during the Chorus of Sin Discord Stage a spur of the moment joke was made about Streamers looking at their chat. We understand that this caused frustration and while we never intended for this joke to be the focal point of the Divine Light change, we'd love to give a little more context behind our thought process and ultimately, share an update on the visual indicator we had mentioned..

What we should have, and failed to mention clearly, is that the changes were there to assist with accessibility giving a short visual warning to Survivors that they are being sniped, due to the speed of the Divine Light and its ability to travel through walls. This is not something that will be happening at release however, we will be monitoring the need for it closely before proceeding, in the event that the increased aura reveal range on Divine Light is not enough.

Chorus of Sin releases tomorrow and we will be monitoring the reception, and we hope you enjoy the first Community Chapter!

  • I think what you need to do is separate out MMR and Matchmaking - both of those things are not the same.

    image.png

These things are examples of what is covered with Matchmaking - except perhaps varying levels of sweatiness which falls into a different category on its own tbf.

With kills and escapes, only those were the outcome for the current MMR which was missing a massive part of the game, hence we looked at the system overall and looked at what were the important factors in the game.

  • As Wezqu had said (and thank you btw), please make a bug report - the team cannot fix things if its not reported to them. We do not take bug reports from other platforms, everything does need to be there. Thank you!

  • To be clear here, the Emblem system is not what we're going back to, its based around it…its not going to be a direct 1-1.

Yeah I kind of figured that was the case. Do you know if (even if it doesn't affect killer powers, or effects like hindered or exposed) we'll get a different perk down the line that affects other statuses? Or is it just too hard to balance for in general.

Also, can anybody point me to where this patch information / the dev livestream is? I can't find it anywhere

I can't say what is going to come up down the line I'm afraid - SECRETS!

The information was shared in our Discord Developer update earlier today.

  • With Vigil, one of the main areas we identified was that it did too much against so many things - new statuses get added, Vigil works against them. Keeping it to exhaustion only can help us to balance the perk more, yes the percentage also increased and we're monitoring that, it can yet be changed after release. But having it work on so many statuses was becoming a balancing nightmare for the perk.

I find these replies are so anti caring towards your Switch/Nintendo/DBD players as a whole.

I mean come on smell the burning coffee here Behaviour!

DBD needs to take advantage of the major advantages it gives to one your fans and two you the developers.

The Nintendo Switch 2 been out over a year now ! ! !

A New platform being Switch 2 arrives, You support everything else even the PS5 day one with its own dedicated versions.

Yet you shone your loyal Nintendo players & the Nintendo Switch 2 for over a year!

(Mind you the only platform you have done this with, Even tho it’s an massive success)

Big and small developers alike single & multiplayer games, Have beaten you Behaviour to the punch in mass majorly.

Meaning smaller developer teams have made Nintendo Switch 2 versions of their games and valued their fans.

And the New platform as whole, Because they don’t want to miss out on the opportunity.

Cough cough one of your partners Capcom shows how good the Switch 2 can hit 60 fps and higher with both Resident Evil: Requiem, Pragmata, Street Fighter and Devil May Cry. While also putting out major graphical fidelity overall unlike DBD on the Nintendo Switch 1.

Now even the Hellraiser game is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 in October, Again another former partner beat you to it. And there an smaller developer unlike Behaviour!

You say you claim to you care about your Nintendo community/DBD players.

Yet it’s showing you don’t value us nor the opportunity to strengthen that bond.

It’s been well over an year the Nintendo Switch 2 has been out,

Yet you don’t answer, Acknowledge or confirm you’re working on it.

Your Nintendo Switch 2 DBD players have been screaming on this forum, X, Twitch and YouTube etc for a dedicated Nintendo Switch 2 version of DBD for ages.

Yet you just continue to alienate all of us !

It’s honestly sad how out of touch you’re being to all your loyal fans.

DBD needs an dedicated Nintendo Switch 2 version of Dead By Daylight. With at least 60FPS + improvements and we darn need punching way above with a major Graphical Overhaul the most.

This is a golden egg to you Behaviour Entertainment (Aka more money and success ahead), This would bring more players back and give you so many new DBD fans. Since how huge Nintendo Switch 2 is selling worldwide & is very successful.

You need to get to grips already, Stop with the excuses we need a yes or no. We need a definitive answer from Mr Mathieu Cote himself.

People will be very happy if you do make a much needed Nintendo Switch 2 dedicated version of DBD or at least be truthful and confirm it already. Stop dancing around the question !

And we will pay be it, for a full physical release , A Game Key Card or a paid Upgrade Pack.

So everyone’s data, chapters and cosmetics actually can transfer over to the Nintendo Switch 2 version of DBD.

Now we all deserve a proper repose from the man himself please.

    Thank you.

We have not danced around anything, we have said we currently have no plans for a Switch 2 version. There's nothing more that we can tell you, its not in the plans right now.

but how come it’s a separate tag? Think about it, if all the versions listed there have their own unique version, why is switch 2 even there, I get it’s a way to play the game, but it’s still using the original switch 1 version of the game?? That’s why it confused me, because you guys at BHVR never announced a port or upgrade pack path option for its own dedicated version, and it already sucks us switch players need to deal with the patch delays because of the certification process changes, I get the original switch is weaker hardware and needs time but this is really unfortunate to deal with when switch 2 gets dragged down with it

Because it's not game versions that's listed, its the platforms the game is available on, otherwise it would just say PC for both Steam and Epic for example, there's no different game version between the two, they are just completely separate platforms.

Like I said in my post, and this is just one example, I was in chase with two injured survivors just a couple meters in front of me also in chase, and it didn't count. There have been many instances like this. Also, according to everything I can find online, chase has nothing to do with it. All it is is whether there is an injured survivor within 10m of you, and there have been many times that that has been true and I haven't received credit for a protection hit.

    Its within 4m not 10m 👀

Alien Isolation ($40) is probably one of, if not the best horror game I've ever played. Other great single player games include stuff like Risk of Rain 2 ($25), Outlast ($15), Hades ($30), and Date Everything ($4). Those are probably some of my favorite games and their respective prices, they're all really great and fun to play.

I love everything on that list, and completely agree on Alien Isolation, that's the only game that has ever given me the chills

  • Subnautica 2 - I have many hours in that right now….

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/471023/survivor-toxicity

If you want survivor toxicity to stop we first need to stop killer toxicity. The whole toxicity started when killers decided to non stop tunnel or slug every god damn match. So if you a worthless tunneler or slugger you created the problem we are suffering from and only have yourselves to blame. If you tunnel me or anyone in my group your getting reported for griefing and tbagged every whiff, every pallet you take, and every screw up you make, and at the gates or hatch and expect a nasty gram end chat as well. THE GRIEFING STOPS WITH YOU BADDIE KILLERS who are bad at the game. Soon as you stop griefing or BHVR actually does something about you abusing and exploiting situational mechanics I guarantee there will be less toxicity on the survivor end of things.

Please do not waste the time of our Player Support Team for reporting on that are not against our game rules. And a nasty end game chat - really??? Now that's one that should definitely be reported.

  • Thanks for the flag on this, our Support team had a quick check and yes it did seem like the filter was set too high, which they'll adjust! Thanks again for letting us know.

I seem to remember it being necessary to have both platforms updated and on the latest patch before combining accounts.

yes that's true! You do need to log into both accounts to be able to fully cross progress the content.

  • well this discussion is degenerating fast isn't it?!

Going to close this right here before we start with more insults being flung around.

But for the record, there's no plans to introduce this Heresy / Heretic mechanic to other killers, its specific to The Judgement.

  • I'm sorry that this killer is not for you, I do agree that the skill floor is very high - and that will likely mean more casual players will be less inclined to learn the killer as it is going to take time and effort, although the payoff for that time and effort is that you have a very strong killer as a result.

There's going to be no revote, the voting represented what players want and we even did do small revotes during the period when the opportunity was available. Ultimately, the winning options are what is in the PTB.

With regards to a controller, there are specific controller settings that put it almost on par with Keyboard and Mouse, even with the movement of the beam, so we're confident that this is not going to be a barrier for entry.

  • MMR is there for Events. Its used for matchmaking, just what happens in the trial doesn't impact the MMR.

There's many reasons why you could be queued with someone with different hours, given Cross Progression is in the game as well as SWF.

  • For bug reports please report via Betahub either directly on the website or via our DbD Discord. We do not take reports from other platforms. Thank you.

  • Rift cosmetics are random for when they appear in the in-game store, we have said we aim to have them in there, but its not guaranteed as when.

The developers choice bundle is purely the choice chosen by team members, of what they like,

  • yeah we resolved the issue that was happening with our partner on this, and should all be back to normal now!

  • I don't have a hard yes or no, I would not expect it any time soon though if we do decide to do it again.

  • The regular PTB will be out next week.

  • EAC Launch Error July 2026 – Dead by Daylight

we have a Support article to help anyone who has this issue.

  • Its the one we notified a couple of weeks back, where you would need to update older software etc if prompted to do so.

  • The security update has already taken affect…its been an hour.

  • you will get it on the email that you have on your BHVR account. But there's no guarantee even after getting the Twitch drop, there's specific number limits, so getting the Twitch drop gives an opportunity to be selected.

  • whilst that's true, we try to make sure we're covering the information for every player as much as possible - so many people want to see different things, we have a large community that we try to cater for as much as possible.

Right, I get that. But like, why am I taking your word for it? Why is BHVR releasing stats that show inflated numbers, just for Community Managers to immediately pop out and explain how actually none of the stats are indicative of current performance?

We just had this conversation with Krasue, and people had trouble understanding it then even though she got very sizable number changes a little after release.

You already have plenty of people just straight up not believing you about Jason's kr in this thread, and honestly, I don't blame them. I don't really believe you either.

You have to understand that from where I'm sitting, BHVR is bringing this misunderstanding entirely unto themselves.

removing Jason from June stats would then be incorrect though - because he was the top naturally during that month - its unfortunate timing on the release, but if we'd removed him we'd have an equal amount of outcry that we "cherrypicked" the data.

  • @CosmicScarab said:

If a new killer comes out, and a killer player wants to try to learn them, they can play 20 games and get 20 full games of learning how to play them. A survivor wanting to learn the killer specific counterplay can play 20 games, and in those 20 games they may not get the new killer every single game, and in the games they do get most of the game will be spent healing, on hook, on gens, and generally not actually being in chase so they learn at a slower rate, not to mention the possibility of being taken out of the game early.

Imo I feel like this would lead to killers figuring out the killer first, while survivors have to play longer to even things out due to the game being asymmetrical. It kind of happened with Henry, where he was considered oppressive and overpowered by many survivors on launch, and as they figured out the counterplay he sort of fell off and not many people talk about him now.

I could be wrong, but that's how I see it and how it feels when I'm playing survivor vs killer after a new release.

I think you are very correct in that assumption, and it would explain why we see the drop offs on kill rates at higher MMRs first, as they do more naturally learn the counterplay that bit faster.

  • @ArkInk said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4103573#Comment_4103573

Respectfully, this statement is a real headache for me.

If you know those two weeks skew the data, then...why are they included in the data? Split it off and release it on its own and avoid the inevitable flood of misunderstandings.

That aside, this is the exact logic that was used during the Krasue killrate debate all over again. Why was she nerfed and Jason isn't?

Jason's kill rate has dropped since the stats were created, its in a much more regular spot right now. Krasue's didn't - hers was stronger. Not saying that maybe too much was nerfed on her, but her kill rate was pretty high.

  • We do not take bug reports on this platform you would need to report on Betahub.

As to your ban on the Discord, whilst you might not remember having joined and got banned, you can appeal your ban by messaging Elemental bot.

  • We are not able to assist you with a Player Support ticket - there is a slight delay with Player Support due to a high number of tickets so I'm afraid the wait might be longer than it would normally be.
