DUDE you are doing it wrong.
You have to save MAIN EVENT for when all 4 survivors are grouped up near each other in a deadzone and you can down them all easily.
Just watch better players than yourself get 4k's with him, its that easy.
Yeah, I'm sure I'll find that scenario in the 10 seconds I'll have to activate it after it turns on.

@Almo said:
It's a playbalance consideration. If you could turn it off or even down, it would be an advantage over people who didn't since it would not muffle the sounds of the Survivors.
Well then that's their choice not to turn it down.
What's next, we remove Perks? They give players who run them an advantage over people who don't.
-
A better tier list would be something like this.

Tomorrow is going to be a really good day for killers. A patch that brings a new strong fun killer, 3 really good perks, not only 1 but actually 2 more killers being buffed. An awesome beat at the campfire.
While the new survivor coming looks nice, her 3 perks is nothing like the good killer perks as usual. Yet another survivor nerf included in the patch to make it even easier for killers.
I can’t wait to be tunneled with a dead perk by a good looking dude with 60 knives after I touched the objective or heal a wound.

The new perk, Hex: Crowd Control, could be a good choice.
I'd agree, except it's a Hex.

Ghostface. It feels way shorter than other Killers for some reason.

I don’t like that build. A 110 killer without corrupt or slowdown? You will get slain. Pick the wrong gen to walk to at the start of the game and lose 2 gens for it, then lose another if you do poorly in your first chase.
Running bamboozle on him doesn’t sound too hot either. Similar to all the other ranged killers, window lock animations are probably going to be a source of a ton of hits.
I'm a 110 Killer with no power. I'm going to get slain no matter what I run. Might as well have fun before I get stomped.
-
Monitor, Iron Maiden, STBFL, Bamboozle.
He's too much of a 110 M1 Killer for me to not run Bamboozle.
-
I just want to know what the hell kind of matches you're getting that TWINS is the most played Killer.

pretty sure that doesn't matter, hag is very good but she is barely played as well.
Difference between someone like Slinger and, say, Hag or Nurse being rarely picked is that Hag and Nurse are frustrating to learn. People don't play them because unless you've already got the map knowledge or the muscle memory and prediction down, they're hard to play.
Slinger is one of the easiest Killers in the game to understand. He's not hard at all. He's just bad.

well luckily it's pretty rare for that cowboy to not have LOS for that long otherwise he wouldn't be considered stupidly good in 1v1's now would he?
Ah, yes, he's so good in 1v1s and really strong.
That's why he's in the top 10 least played Killers of all time. Of course.

are assuming the deathslinger is bad? If the deathslinger can't quickly end the chase he can just go back to the gen
Ruin allows killers to regress gens without sacrificing chase potential not only that but just by going to a gen you get value out of regressing it as survivors are not tp'ing straight onto that gen.
Like unless that gen is like above 60% when you leave it and another survivor gets on it you can make it back and stop it as Deathslinger, that's why it was popular because he can end chases fast enough to also stop gens and he doesn't have to waste time regressing them directly.
I dunno, man, having walls or distance of any kind is pretty bad for everyone's least favorite cowboy.
So he'll end the chase and then that Survivor will work on a different gen. Congrats, you've accomplished nothing.

So you are telling me that a deathslinger can't knock a survivor off a gen end that chase and get back to the gen in time?
Because that is literally why old ruin+undying was popular on him and still is, can every killer without mobility make use out of it no but plenty can even plague can since it either makes survivors get infected faster or the gen regresses.
Considering Slinger's TTD is longer than a lot of people make it out to be, yes, I definitely think that Survivors can finish a gen before he can get a hook and then pressure it.
"Because that is literally why old ruin+undying was popular on him and still is,"
It's popular because it's the closest most Killers can have to good stall. Doesn't mean it's strong, it's just the closest there is TO strong.

@AChaoticKiller said:

the hell you on?
if you got a team that could hit those skill checks old ruin did nothing, oh bonus progression? you mean the what 10-12% that's like 8 seconds from a few skill checks they may or may not have landed that now has been reduced to only 1% bonus progression instead of 2%? You could literally get more value from thano than that especially once ruin got cleansed.
New ruin is way better than old ruin simply due to the fact that survivors will lose a ton of progress against any killer that knows how to pressure gens that is not limited to mobility killers it is useful for all killers.
If a low-mobility, low-pressure Killer is getting gen pressure, that's the Survivors letting them do that. And at that point, that's not Ruin being a good Perk, that's Survivors being dookie at the video game.
-
Because they think they're good when they're not.
Like cool, RNG held your hand more tenderly than your parents ever have. I guess that means you're better than me at the video game.
-
New Ruin was nerfed. Against good Survivors the only Killers who can apply meaningful pressure are the top-tier ones who don't need Ruin anyway.
At least old Ruin made great skill checks not give progress. Now if the Survivors are any kind of efficient with gens, new Ruin does NOTHING.

Yes... less time.
It takes Trickster less than 3 seconds to pull out his knives and throw 8 of them. He starts off still moving at 3.68 m/s and if my numbers are right he's still moving at 3.4 m/s after throwing 8 knives. That's actually very quick and really not that much speed lost while doing it. In addition to that, after he's thrown 8 knives there's no mechanics preventing him from continuing to throw them.
Most Huntress players I've watched usually fully charge hatchets before they throw them. Makes sense, you're making an ammo and time investment by throwing one and charged hatchets are much harder for the Survivors to dodge. Here's the thing, fully charging a hatchet also takes 3 seconds and slows Huntress to 3.08 m/s. Also after Huntress lands a hatchet, there's a minimum of 1.25 seconds before she can throw a 2nd one and that'll be an uncharged snap shot so Survivors know they can just run away post hit without worrying about an immediate follow up.
Now for Deathslinger, he can go from seeing you to having you on his spear incredibly quickly. However, at that point Deathslinger hasn't injured you yet. He still has to reel and swing which can take several seconds depending on how long he has to reel you. Then after that he has gotten his injury, but now he has to wipe his weapon and reload before he's really a threat again, all while the Survivor can safely hold W with a 2 second speed boost which he'll need to catch up to. When taken together, all of that is going to take way longer than 3 seconds. Way way longer.
That's why I think Trickster is going to be better than a lot of people are saying. He can be far far more relentless in chase than either of them can be, but as a trade off he needs line of sight on his target the whole time. Now I can't say for sure how that tradeoff will pan out, but I'm excited to see it.
It's incredibly easy to stall Trickster's chase by just wiggling back and forth, having distance on his 110 ass... or just understanding that walls are a thing that exist. Once walls start existing, Trickster becomes a 110 M1 Killer.
He's the worst Killer in the game. Bar none. If his knives were that good, Plague would be a high-tier Killer since Vile Purge is pretty much the exact same. But she's not. And she's STRONGER than Trickster.

This, so much this.
Loading into a match and realizing Freddy is the killer packed out the wazoo with every slowdown he could equip is a close contender. I'd rather face a pro Nurse.
On the survivor side, wondering why we haven't progressed gens, only to get hooked and finally seeing that one of my teammates is hiding and the other is constantly going for flashlight saves, failing said flashlight saves, only to go down after 5 seconds, is a close contender.
I can't wait for the day my No Mither build goes against a Twins and completely cucks Victor's entire existence.
Imagine getting countered by No Mither. What a big, scary Killer.

I was gonna say that Trickster isn't on here but then I realized that it's is probably more accurate as it is.

I don't feel solo needs to be buffed so much as swf needs to be brought down. Solo sucks. I will not argue that but the solution starts with randoms getting better. You can give them all the info in the world and they will still find reasons not to use it.
This, honestly. Most of my lost solo queue games comes not from lack of information, but from people literally just throwing the game.
-
Dead Hard: Cannot interact with a pallet or window for 1.5 seconds after the dash.
-
Oni. His power can easily be starved by good Survivors, but once he's in his gamer chair, you have to rely on stealth and tight corners to keep him off you since otherwise he'll just Demon Dash you into next week. There's room for counterplay regardless of your playstyle as Survivor.
-
Doing the objective is fine. It's when it's clearly the only thing Survivors seem interested in doing that it becomes annoying.
It's not a matter of doing the objective. It's a matter of I don't understand why it's fun. Doing gens is boring as hell. Holding down a button is not gameplay. I will throw the game to get chased because getting chased is FUN. Stuff HAPPENS. Meanwhile I can have games as Killer where literally the only thing that ever happens on their end is holding M1 and occasionally Shift + W.
How is that entertaining? You're playing a less interactive clicker game at that point. Go play a clicker game.
-
So basically sudden death: the Perk.
Why not just make sudden death a game mechanic.

Survivor: Detective's Hunch, because I don't think it's bad. Matter of fact, I think it's borderline overtuned.

Plauge: First off, wear a mask girl. You know the times. You've probably heard that if you play her. You're focused and hardworking. Your strength is survivor determined, so it can get frustrating. But you're trying and learning as you go. Keep up the good work and don't be afraid to try new things.
Buba: Oh boy, I have to hold my tongue here. I'm not a fan considering I've met some not so nice Buba players. But, those who play well really want to fight the stigma. You play fair, but see it through to the end. If you played fairly and well, don't be afraid to send a GG.
Twins: Like Mikey, you kind of like scaring people. I can't tell you how many times I've screamed because Victor has jump scared me. You have an attachment to both of them, You try not to rely on just one of them and almost feel bad for not using both equally.
Blight: Don't deny you like pinball (no shame though). You like strategy and learning new techniques. Keep yourself mentally stimulated or you go nuts. You might really like the Zero Escape series, lots of puzzles.
Trickster: Now, I don't know enough about yet, but you're definitely into KPOP. And don't worry, I am too. Maybe a bit of a thong for bad boys.
These are really, REALLY inaccurate.

I'm just scrolling up and down the forums and I'm seeing posts complaining about Deadhard and I'm sitting here like you players have to be new to this game to be complaining about deadhard 😂.
First off deadhard isn't even that great of a perk because dedicated servers destroyed what it use to be. I can't tell you how many times I've been exhausted hit on the ground. Yes it'll get you out of a sticky situation when it works but deadhard is not hard at all to bait out.
Walk up close behind a injured survivor to force deadhard out then swing. If they are constantly looking behind them while running that means they have deadhard. If you get close up on them and they start doing little jukes or try to spin around you that means they don't have deadhard.
It's that easy.
When a Killer gets close to you and there is a pallet near, look towards the pallet and then press the E key on your keyboard.
It's that easy.

Plague: You just want to chill.
Bubba: You just want to chill, but get rewarded with wins for it.
Demogorgon: You're a form over function kinda guy.
Blight: You're the DBD equivalent of the guy who casually plays 4D chess with Einstein or the massively buff guy who doesn't talk to anyone at the gym ever. A silent god, if you will.
Twins: You hate being alive so you're gonna make everyone else hate it too.
Trickster: You want Trickster to spit in your mouth.

Sets are kinda necessary for skins like the Greek Clown one. I really like the weapon from that set tho which is why I wish it was unlocked. I don't really get why the Pyramid Head outfits are locked though.
The point of being able to mix and match cosmetics is to customize your character. With sets, customization is extremely limited. Therefore, sets shouldn't exist.
Outfit can't exist without being a set? Either change that, or don't add it into the game.
-
Considering sets shouldn't even exist in the first place... yeah, we should.

Just to play Devil's advocate for a minute, what would it mean to "be lucky" with chests? Is it just higher item rarity? But a Rainbow Map is not as useful as a Skeleton Key. And if you're injured, you'll probably want a Ranger Med-Kit over a toolbox of equal rarity, unless you have Adrenaline and want to rush that last gen so you and your teammates can open a door and escape.
Getting items of higher rarity is almost always better, with the obvious exception of the rainbow map. Even if you don't get the item you want, it's better to have an Engineer's or Mechanic's Toolbox over a brown one. And hey, if you do get the item you want, it's gonna having a higher chance of being better quality.
-
Wouldn't do anything to address the real reason the Perk is absolutely busted which is Dead Hard for distance. That simple dash turns a loop you ######### up into a free pallet drop. And it's not hard to do at all. It rewards you for messing up.

On top of that, it's an argument that makes even less sense since BHVR makes a ton of shiny and bulky costumes that make survivors easier to spot. The awful default FOV just makes a lot of killers artificially more difficult to play than they actually are.
Not to mention, adding an FoV slider would provide NEGATIVE effects that stretched res doesn't, including a wider blinding angle and wider Spine Chill activation range.

Well... Uhh...

And yet, here are the ten most-played killers as of late 2020:
- Pyramid Head (this was pre-nerf iirc, so he's probably a bit lower now)
- Huntress
- Doctor
- Wraith
- Trapper
- Myers
- Nurse
- Spirit
- Ghost Face
- Billy
Many of these killers are ones that survivors really enjoy facing. Myers and Wraith, for example are usually favorites, and Nurse and Huntress are two of my personal favorites to play against. Notice the typical anti-fun boogeymen not on here: Hag, Freddy, Deathslinger. Notice also that all three of the killers from this post aren't even on here. If people are switching to strong killers and just sweating for wins, it's clearly not that many people. Compare it to the kill rate list:
- Freddy
- Pig
- Bubba
- Doctor
- Spirit
- Myers
- Ghost Face
- Hag
- Trapper
- Legion
Only half of the strongest killers by kill rate overlaps with the most-played killer list, including none of the top three. Given that there were 21 killers in the game as of those stats being released, this is no different than what you'd expect if you picked ten killers from the roster at random to make each list.
Pyramid Head, Nurse, and Spirit are some of the most hated Killers in the game by Survivor players.
And before you say you like Nurse: Cool. You're just one person. Most of the community hates going against Nurse.

It is for balance reasons.
Not to mention, if an FoV slider is bad because it gives Killers an advantage, then when are we getting rid of Killers' ability to run the game on Low? It gives them an advantage because it gets rid of a lot of shadows and makes the game brighter overall; CLEARLY it's unfair. That's still been in the game since its inception. Why not an FoV slider?
-
@Zozzy said:

It is for balance reasons.
Really stupid, unjustified balance reasons that literally causes more headaches than it prevents.
The logic of "FoV slider bad because it lets you find people easier" can be applied to literally ANY PvP game. Yet many of those aforementioned PvP games not only have FoV sliders, some of them also have a default FoV that's higher than that of Killers.
It really doesn't provide some massive advantage. If it did, Shadowborn would be considered a much higher-tier Perk in terms of viability. But it's not. In terms of viability and strength, Shadowborn is really, really bad. It's a QoL Perk. As someone who frequently runs Shadowborn because Killer fatigues and 110 Killers cause me actual disorientation when I play without it, it really doesn't help that much in terms of finding Survivors.
An FoV slider would have almost zero effect on balance.
-
I'm gonna be real with you, I firmly advocate for the use of stretched res until the FoV slider for Killers is a setting and not a Perk.
Will Survivors be able to use it for cheating? Yes. But do I want to be able to play Legion and 110 Killers without needing a Perk to mitigate motion sickness? Also yes.
