Judging by the number of posts you have here, you seem immune to basic use of words and language.
There is a distinct reason why the DbD community is viewed as toxic. For some, there is clearly no filter any more.
In no circumstance should a post be allowed which uses the "hate" or "hatred" terminology. If you dislike something, fair game.
In simple terms, grow the ######### up.
Man you could be calling people out for saying stuff like slurs and you're here ragging on me for saying the word "hate".
Quite frankly, I do hate circle of healing and a lot of other people do too.

Too bad, McLean gutted Deathslinger and dipped.
Mclean actually didn't nerf slinger, it was someone else. Mclean did the spirit and billy changes (If I remember correctly).
You can put 2 and 2 together and know who that someone else is.

Inciting hatred, whether you're tongue in cheek or not, get outta here.
It's about time people took accountability for their language in posts such as these. It isn't acceptable in the slightest.
Man got offended over me saying I hate a perk in a videogame damn.

This Slinger nerf drama is reaching another level. I still play the guy and do well with him just pre-aiming around corners.
Quickscope is still a thing btw, in the sense that he takes 0,9 seconds to fire a 40m/s projectile without a single sound warning (Huntress takes 3 full seconds to do the same, and she has two sound cues). Before the nerf it would take 0,65 seconds, so it's not like 0,25 extra seconds will ruin the killer.
I'm going as far as to say he feels more fun to play with his new ADS, as the old quickscope felt incredibly unnatural, like his gun was made of plastic. Now you can actually see the aiming animation.
Most people who complained about the nerf played him for like 3 games and already decided he's unplayable, I'm assuming that's the same for you. Maybe give him another chance and develop your muscle memory again.
I though the times were 0.15s for the ADS, then 0.5s for the spear to go from 0 to 18m. Now it's 0.4s for the ADS and then 0.5 for it to go from 0 to 18m.
My granddad could react to something in 0.4s easily, and that's not even talking about being further away than 0m from him.
No matter the times he is NOT more fun with a slower ADS against good players as it incentivises zoning a lot more. The added MS when ADSing pushes you to do in any more.
So no, quickscoping is not a thing when you have survivors who actually look behind them.

The "overshadowed by self care" part gave it away but they had me for a looooong time.

Because you're blowing it way out of proportion.
CoH is not broken, OP or even unfair. It's a powerful perk, but it doesn't break the game. It's been adjusted, nerfed and balanced accordingly.
And like I said, Boons in general are still 2nd tier perks that is overshadowed by Borrowed Time, Self Care and most of all, Dead Hard. It's not as meta as you make it out to be. I see maybe one CoH and two if many in a team.
People still prefer bring medkits than CoH since it takes up a whole perk slot when they could equip smth more useful.
Rather than talking about a perk's potential, talk about it's usage rate and effectiveness. It's not THAT broken. I'm telling you.
You're baiting wp you got me.

I think you're being a little too overdramatic here.
CoH sucks, I know. I play killer too. But CoH has been nerfed already and it's only a single perk. It takes at least 12~24 seconds to bless, 1 second to snuff them. It has a distinct sound + blue light and it also helps me track injured survivors around the boon itself after memorising its location.
Not to mention, Dead Hard is still more popular than CoH atm so I think DH needs to be looked at first instead of focusing on CoH. Just sayin'
You will never snuff the totem unless you actively go looking for it because good survivors will never lead you to it. An even remotely decent CoH location on the opposite end of the map from a 3 gen or in main can take a killer 15 seconds minimum to just walk there, and another 15 back.
This also drops chase, and gives all 4 survivors chance to be on gens while you do this.
"It's only a single perk" Yea, it literally gives the entire team med kits for ONE perk slot. How am I being overdramatic?
-
@Voodoo_Thirsty said:
I mean, Leatherface brought BBQ and Pinhead brought Scourge hooks so I don't see why survivors can't get anything strong too. CoH was nerfed by a quarter percent already and Mettle of Man is even less popular than BBQ.
Man did not just say scourge hooks and BBQ are similar in strength to circle of healing.
One gives the entire team infinite free med kits for 1 perk slot + guaranteed wins against hit and run killers, the others grant mediocre pressure and tracking.

Have you tried getting better at the game? lmao.
The amount of killers that have had to drop me because they downed me in the basement of the school and couldn't make it to a hook has far outweighed the amount of times those breakable doors have caused me to lose a chase.
"Just get better"
Just counter the infinite as pig without bamboozle 4Head.

EDIT: Wasn't joking. The doors are removed. Another map for me to go AFK on when I'm playing M1 killers.

I can't tell if half the people blaming the epileptic person here are people not wanting to have their clicky clicky taken away or people with no sense of empathy.
Fym "proof" bruh. Give a warning for epileptic people and/or remove the things that do cause problems. Something that should've been done weeks after the game released.

Super rare, probably down with twins/hag in terms of how often I see them.
Shame because I really like versing her.

I used to naively believe that BHVR were Survivor-sided.
After seeing the balancing decisions for 4 years, I can safely say they are not. Unfortunately, I've yet to find a rhyme or reason to many of their changes.
In short, BHVR will do what they do.
You see alc ring is perfectly A OK and balanced.
Stale biscuit however...
-
1 - Difficult to learn
2 - Unfun to learn
Same reason as twins. Except artist is an actual good killer.
-
@GoodBoyKaru said:
Okay but no because I like using POTD in a straight line and getting them anyway because nobody expects you to just use it like a Huntress Hatchet. Far more satisfying.
That's what I've been doing but with artist. Predicting where they will run off to and aim a birb there.
Pretty easy to do since every survivor in my lobby loves doing it.

@Smoe said:
Not big on bringing back quickscope slinger in any way, the amount of people that complained about it back then was pretty noteworthy and it's removal was frankly a betterment to the game's health.
This still isn't quickscope slinger, that was 0.15s, this is 0.25s.
While it may not seem like it, for slinger 0.1s is a noticeable amount of time. Only 0.25s got added and that pretty much killed him.

But you do not believe in the existence of a golden age, so it doesn't count.
What I am saying is that, for those who note the differences between their experiences throughout their years of playing DBD, their golden days are usually not related to the current mess of a game that we now have.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2828044#Comment_2828044
Well...to each their own.
Though I can safely, and without a shadow of doubt, assure you that such idea of mine of getting an improved version of the already perfect golden days would work.
Question: Do you think this game could enter a golden age assuming lots work gets done to make the game fun? EG: No MMR/MMR changes, certain balance changes (the deletion of Circle of healing), etc.
I really would not want old dbd back, it was hard carried by survivor's lack of skill making matches feel "fair" even though they weren't.
I personally really enjoy some of the newer killers both versing and playing, they add some variety in the game especially since most of them are super fun. That's probably the only reason I wouldn't go back.
Now that I'm thinking about it I would probably have artist deleted for circle of healing (and boons in general) to be yeeted from existence.
-
Ok that's cool and all but lets see:
- MMR existing
- Circle of healing existing
- Dead hard existing
- Unfun maps for both sides keep being put in the game
- Same said maps being horribly unbalanced
- As a consequence for bad map design, any killer that wants to be mid - high tier need some form of good antiloop
- The devs when changing a killer either nerfing them to bottom tier (slinger) or doing barely anything (trapper) - Spirit being one of the few exceptions
- W key meta being the most boring thing to be put in a videogame
- Trying to get 70% of the playerbase to play someone else other than blight/huntress is gonna be like trying to stop a crack addict doing, well, crack.
- Slow progress of updates
- The dude who's supposed to know how our matchmaking system works inside out doesn't even know what a "skilled play" is
- Absolute stubborness to go back on changes everyone agrees were bad/needed further work (billy, slinger)
- Even more issues (grind, new player expense, etc)
If we can get a "golden age" even through all of this then idk what I'll even do. It'll be a mirical.
-
Artist: Holding your hand out before the birbs recharge and then placing them makes a significantly quieter audio cue, giving the survivor less reaction time.

Because the entire system was overall a flop and feels rushed. COH is overpowered, exponential and dark theory are bad, and only shadow step is somewhere in the middle (but is often a waste of time nonetheless). The way the system is, individual boon perks cannot be that good or they will be broken as long as they can be infinitely relit.
I'm mostly satisfied with the new scourge hook mechanic (although gift of pain is too weak), but for boons it really feels like they just wanted to make a totem mechanic for survivors and brute-forced it in without really considering how it would play out in actual matches (in other words, it looks okay on paper, but in practice it sucks). I almost guarantee you that if COH didn't exist almost nobody would be bothering with any of these perks.
Gotta disagree with exponential and dark theory being weak but agree with everything else.
Have you tried exponential in a flashlight squad? Its amazing.

You know a game mechanic is terrible when even sluzzy has good takes.

If it makes you feel any better there's no ill intent behind it. They just like their flashlight rave parties.

Was playing with old friends earlier and to put it simply - MMR clearly didn't work in the matches and they are a tad bit toxic. More toxic in a meme way tbf.
Considering he bumped a 10 day old thread to tell me how toxic I am he may of been one of the killers.

You are the reason why ppl don't play killer anymore. You run in a 4 man SWF, bm'ing when ppl try to learn new killers - complete trash.
Aight which killer were you?
-
Honestly it would be much better health wise but not balanced still.
The concept of giving everyone on the team the ability to heal by themselves for only 1 perk slot can't really be balanced. Hence why it probably needs a full rework.
-
Birb Mommy
-
How on actual earth can you say trickster and nurse have valid counterplay, but artist doesn't?
-
"Well according to our statistics she's actually in a pretty good spot, we will nerf her most useless add on however because only 1 person has played with it, and since he got a 4K it technically has a 100% kill rate. Also we buffed blight again and now twins players have IEDs sent into their mailboxes because their kill rates are too high at top mmr."

@kate_best_girl said:
Well if you make it 32 seconds then why run COH when you can just run SH? It just needs a rework tbh. I like the concept its just too broken. Maybe it should be changed to something like after putting it down the next time you're injured and not in a chase it heals you over 32 seconds then snuffs itself.
Because it would still give the +75% speed to healing others and teammates can self care even if they don't have it.

Thats my favorite part about each Chapter. But after a few hours my head starts to hurt from all those facepalming when multiple people complain about Perks which will not be used at all. And every time it was quite obvious that the Perks were not as good as people claimed they would be.
(My favorite was Fast Track, a Perk which requires your team to die to have the value of one Brand New Part...)
@Topic:
I dont think we will get any good Survivor-Perk. Aside from Circle of Healing, new released Survivor-Perks were always mediocre at best. I do expect one decent Killer-Perk tho and one situational one.
I am incredibly guilty of complaining about fast track ngl.
I usually reserve my complaints now in coping threads, or only complain if something is obviously overpowered like CoH or old MoM/

Deathslinger never was good to begin with
He was. If he was still in his old state he would be about 5th best considering how far twins got pushed down with COH meta and the spirit nerf.
His 3 gen and chase were great comboed together. Add on wardens and cigar + some good perks he became easily one of the best given a decent map.

I don't even plan to use the perk but I just take issue with people complaining about something like Boil Over while having absolutely no issue with things that are more busted (Pain Resonance/Dead Man's Switch combo) or even worse, arguing about how "unfun" it is as if this community has even cared about "fun" in this game. If anyone here truly cared about fun, hey wouldn't slug or run things like "Sloppy" because it drags the game out or is boring to play against as most people are saying about Boil Over.
The arguments just fall flat because not many people here actually care about fun with the playstyles they encourage
So how do you counter boil over?

I'm still pretty sure some of the devs have some kind of side bet to see how much they can mess with killers before they lose the player base. It's the only logical explanation.
Nah it's just that balancing is awful rn. I'm more convinced it's a "we don't know what the hell we're doing" than a "screw killer players" mentality.

A good nerf would be his pants removed in game and out. That'd put him z tier.
