I have some views on this

    1. I think it’s fine I don’t really mind but
    2. i think this will backfire badly cause when Leatherfaces masks were removed they were removed cause people were being racist and only killing colored people.
    3. by announcing David is gay it’s pretty much enabling every Homophobic person to tunnel, camp and be toxic. This is going to end up like the leatherface situation again.(maybe not but it Could happen).

ayo I'd rephrase the last 2 words of point 2 cos it has bad history. Just say POC instead :)

  • Basically a lot of the characters are hot and/or appeal to people with certain erm, "types".

That being said Artist could put me on a leash and I'd thank her for it.

  • @GoshJosh said:

    Trickster should be deleted*

    There, fixed the thread title.

Trickster has a wife and you want him deleted? How heartless.

  • @Icaurs said:

I would agree to make him 115 on one condition, make it so that he is forced to stop and do a hit animation whenever he injured a survivor. The ability to keep using his power on survivors, even after he hit them, is far more powerful then making him 115. Would be more balanced as well TBH

I think that would remove some of the most fun parts of playing trickster, instead I think they should slow him down a bit more when throwing.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    Absolutely not.

Why not? It'll help his scenarios where he cannot do anything and with the right nerfs can balance out by not being overly oppressive at low wall loops.

  • @_AdamFrancis_ said:

Only if you make it to where his throw rate doesn't increase and he needs 8 blades again.

That seems a bit too harsh I'd rather he takes 7 blades and just slows down a bit further when in throw state. Not by too much only by 5%.

  • @espooked said:

    Please no

    Yes please

  • @Icaurs said:

Because Trickster does not require any skill to play. He is extremely easy for a fairly oppressive killer. Let's say you are a good Huntress. As a survivor you have more control over a a chase against a huntress due to her power being perfectly designed at tiles. Done correctly both the survivor and killer can use game knowledge to avoid, bait or predict one another. Trickster however does not allow for this due to him having far more knives then he needs to get a down. If you cannot get a down as huntress it is possible the survivor is just good. But if you can't as Trickster you are the problem

Id flip that last statement on it's head, if you get downed by a trickster in a decent location you misplayed.

  • Sorry but that would make medkits absurdly overpowered when they're already too strong.

The perk would really benefit from a full scale rework, what that rework would be I have no clue.

  • Nah, but I do wish there was more deactivation requirements, such as if another survivor gets hooked while DS is active it deactivates and maybe just deactivate it when the exit gates are opened. After that I'd argue the perk should be buffed to activate on both hooks.

  • Cos he's a "You can't do anything or I can't do anything" kind of killer.

In the open he's a monster but at high walls and main buildings he's literally a 110, M1 killer. So it's either you're running a high wall loop and predropping which means zero interactivity or you're in the open and just die - once again, not much interactivity.

He's one of the few killers I'd say that actually has issues with being unfun.

  • Classic is darkest and according to something I heard on a discord server a while ago the devil mask is the darkest mask. So if you want the darkest possible BF then run classic body + devil mask + any weapon.

  • @ThatOneDemoPlayer said:

Please no, the snowmen sucked. Free Health States for Survivors and Killers got nothing

Okok so what about if hit the survivors lose a health state/go down if exposed then even the people who care about that would also have fun.

  • @MonsterInMyMind said:

Idk I just don't think it solves anything respectfully sure they believe they found a balance but the one thing I see missing from this equation is people who go out of their way to make the game unfun, for either side, this hasn't changed nor been addressed. It's indeed the elephant in the room. All this does is burn out even more players, so now it's not only, High MMR who are tired of MMR in the game.

That's true but I think that is more to do with in game mechanics that need adjusting rather than MMR. Hopefully a more relaxed MMR system incentivises people to bring more chill perks and we can see less double range nurses or 2 CoH + 4 DH.

  • @Pulsar said:

Few people want to play Killer on Console, here's why:

    The controller settings are non-existent.

    FPS drops.

    Boil Over.

No NVIDIA filters which means the game is extremely dark.

Auto-aim and PC Survivors spinning too quickly.

Sensitivity is too low for some Killers, ie, Blight.

Inability to flick with Killers like Nemesis, Blight and Nurse.

I'm sure other people can name more reasons.

The lack of controller settings is such a huge issue I don't think most MnK players realise. On controller you can't customise:

    • Joystick deadzones which is how much you have to push the joystick in order to make the character move or look around. This game has strict deadzones which makes console player's camera movement look incredibly choppy instead of smooth like MnK. This is also one of the sole reasons aiming killers are so hard to play - especially trickster.
    • Trigger deadzones which is basically just joystick deadzones but for the left and right triggers. Not as big of an issue as joystick DZs but something that should be customisable anyway.
    • (As you mentioned) The sensitivity is too low even on 100% for rapid movement killers like blight and nurse. The sensitivity should go up to double what it is now.

    As for other issues:

    • While blight and nurse are hit hard by the inability to flick, they both don't compare to how badly hit console Oni is compared to PC oni. Oni needs the flick and he just doesn't have it on console.
    • Certain aiming killers being designed in an anti-console way. Mainly looking at trickster who is absurdly difficult on console because of:
    • 2 firing points
    • Randomised (and in turn being uncontrollable) recoil
    • Long throw delay (the time between pressing the throw button and the knife actually taking flight)
    • + pretty much everything else that makes trickster harder to aim including the 2 firing points moving inwards over time, the slight movement slowdown to make strafing harder over time, and once again the terrible joystick deadzones. I don't mind him being difficult, but the fact that he has SO MUCH to make a console players life harder I just don't understand.
    • Now that im typing this it just sounds like a trickster rant.
  • @legacycolt said:

Let me explain this post: Leachy Jr wants a whole map deleted because a hook didn’t spawn close enough and they didn’t like a boon perk.

I guess I'll rephrase it then if people like taking stuff literally.

My dearest BHVR, also known as behaviour interactive, I have stumbled upon a noticeable issue in one of your licenced maps known as 'midwich elementary school' from the popular game franchise silent hill. This issue includes a lack of hooks in the downstairs and upstairs corridors. While this issue may not seem to significant on paper, in game it can make a killers match very frustrating due to being forced to slug, and can sometimes (such as in my situation) result in the killer losing their pressure (also referred to as 'snowball') and possibly losing the match overall with no counterplay opportunity from the killer.

I kindly request that something were to be done about the issue stated above as the issue is most certainly not uncommon, I have seen lots of similar reports of frustration including hook spawns in the corridors. I would suggest enforcing a 'forced spawn' rule in which at least 1 hook should spawn in the corridor regardless of other surrounding hook spawns.

    Thank you in advance.

PS: Delete circle of healing and I will donate 100 bri ish pounds to the dev who does it.

Cope. You have no choice as what you see is what you get.

She had her rework and they didn't accidently leave the range addons there. They balanced them with slower recharge. So while she can blink further if spec'd she can do it less often.

They nerfed stale biscuit before any of blights add ons. Frickin stale biscuit. What makes you think they would change range?

They don't seem to have reasonable conclusions on what is and isn't OP, hence why range is (for some reason) still allowed on nurse despite it being quite overpowered especially with the current bug.

I'm guessing you have a thing for projectile killers

Except Huntress, is it because she's annoying to play for you or?

She's far too clunky and slow or me. Plus she feels like she takes less skill than other projectile killers (since I'm on console trickster is absurdly difficult).

You don't need to like OhTofu's takes to watch the strategy in action. And no, I'm not forgetting chase time, etc.

Ohh you mean against bad survivors like the ones he's versing? Sure she's quite good against bad survivors, but the games balance drastically changes then. EG: Pinhead and oni are better at killing bad survivors than nurse. I don't think we should balance around weak players personally otherwise a lot of perks on both sides that are fine would end up nerfed (like DS, ruin, etc).

Against good survivors who won't give you free downs within the first 60 seconds of the match the DMS artist strat can be countered quite easily by (as mentioned above) 2 man saving, abusing her bad unhook punishment, and having longer chases by outplaying her.

  • @dugman said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2906478#Comment_2906478

"Up to 15 seconds of gens done per hook" is not going to be enough to "easily beat the Artist". I definitely recommend watching OhTofu doing the tactic above.

What? Are you just forgetting about chase time, and time of which gens can be done while somebody is being chased?

If she does camp with DMS, get as much gen progress as possible once a hook is done, hide for 30ish seconds, go in for 2 man save, somebody gets a chase while DMS isn't active, it's the survivors job to give her a good chase.

Also sorry I dislike ohtofu's takes so I'm not watching that.

I perfectly understand how it works, do YOU understand how it works in combo with Dead Man’s Switch? It’s pretty simple

    • Artist hooks someone, triggers Dead Man’s Switch.
    • Shoot crows at three generators, if survivors dodge the crows to avoid being swarmed the gen is blocked for a while. If they stay on the gen they get swarmed.
    • If someone is swarmed at a gen, fire another crow at them a few seconds later. Now they either get damaged which forces them off the gen anyway or they get off it to avoid the damage, either way the gen is blocked for the remainder of Dead Man’s Switch
    • Meanwhile the Artist never even has to leave the hook. She can literally stand and guard it the full duration of the Dead Man’s Switch and force the survivor to lose at least one hook stage while simultaneously blocking gens. (The main weakness of camping a hook is the other survivors can freely work on gens while you do it. But this combo negates that problem for Artist, she can camp and still block gens at any range this way.)

Maybe you should watch some videos of people using this combo in this way before saying I don’t know what I’m talking about?

While the DMS Artist combo is strong, it's not *that* strong. Her unhook game is weak and you can easily guarantee an unhook given there's 2 people at the hook. Plus you still have 15 seconds after DMS runs out to do gens before the survivor gets into second/dies.

If she camps every hook, and you 2 man save at around the 45 second mark, and have decent chases, she will easily lose the game.

You have more than a thousand posts in these forums, so I'm pretty sure you know what you just said isn't true.

I see way more threads asking for survivor nerfs, than threads asking for killer nerfs.

Either way, all those threads are just made by people who just aren't good at the game and would rather get everything nerfed so they can get free kills and free escapes.

Yea my bad I was a bit heated seeing tons of sudden artist hate (kinda what happened with slinger tbh).

How do you bait birds? By running back into the killer and getting M1'd?

How can you make "rational choices" on when to cross crow paths when all she has to do is press a button to fire them at you?

I'm playing devils advocate here because i don't care whether she is nerfed or buffed or stays the same, but the counters sound like, run into her and hope she doesn't fire her crows at you.

You can bait birds by seemingly running into the flight path, then quickly dodging back out and/or running forward. TL walls are a great example of how the artist must consider baits and how a survivor plays before firing + any time she does a blind 8m crow shot. If you predicted wrong you get hit, if you predicted right you just run past the crow.

Rational choices can be made because crows have travel time and can be dodged given you didn't let her completely shut down the loop (which at that point you should've W keyed). Assuming you're swarmed and are running away it'll take around 0.65s for the crow to reach your location assuming you're 20ish meters away. You can easily stay out of the crows line of fire or even better try and bait the crows out due to their travel time.

  • @WesCravenFan said:

    Okay. I'll bite.

What IS the counterplay to Artist?

You know, aside from just running in a straight line and hoping she decides you are not worth the time investment?

At loops: Baiting birds, making rational choices when to cross crow paths and mindgaming her.

Away from loops: Baiting directions, lockers, more mindgames.

Couldn't the same be said for both sides? Honestly killer and survivor mains both cry and complain and keep getting each side nerfed and it's getting ridiculous I play both so I've noticed it on both sides getting stupid at this point

All he needs is his terror radius reverted and he is fine.

It's really not as simple as that, his TR was barely part of his overall viability since he benefitted most off of 3 gen defence and good chases, both of which aren't effected too much by a bigger TR. Hence why I don't really care about the TR change.

  • @Mister_xD said:

    just revert his changes entirely.

he was is a great spot prior to the nerfs - in fact, i would even go as far as calling him the most balanced Killer in the entire game.

none of his nerfs were justifiable and should never have happened in the first place.

there is no need to try and screw around with like 50 different mechanics to try and balance him while keeping all the nerfs he got, when he was literally in an almost perfect spot balance wise before the nerf. just revert him to his old self and you got a balanced version of Deathslinger.

I wouldn't call old slinger completely perfect but he was very close. It's just his overreliance on wardens keys and being able to rapid zone were the only things that needed addressing.

Tbf Idk why they're trying to fix him while taking away all of his identity. Makes no sense to me.

  • @Chilli_man2400 said:

Everyone just says revert his changes. As much as l loved deathslinger. As a killer main i will admit. He was very cheap to play.

His whole gameplay boiled down to faking and zoning his power that was god awful to fight. Imagine a killer who can kill instantly and give you absolutely no warning to firing. Huntress and trickster both have windups slinger had none. And he could aim and go back and zone with no Penalty’s was so cheap.

I will admit the TR nerf was overkill I agree it should go back but making him 115% wouldn’t fix anything

He was made more unfun by being given a longer ADS time and faster MS when ADSing. You are actually incentivised to zone more than old slinger because of this.

He should have at least a 0.25s ADS down from the current 0.4. His old ADS was 0.15 so it's a good middle ground for slinger mains and people who can't be bothered to learn a killers counterplay.

You can pick one of the following which would it be:

    • Quick scoping is back
    • His terror radius is small again
    • Faster reload with slightly stronger chain

quickscoping 100%, it's what made him fun and unique from other killers.

I don’t think she is add on reliant. She can do well without MDR+DCB.

Not even them add-ons, she needs some form of "catch up" add on in order to cope with people running in a straight line (charge speed, speed, duration) unless you want to walk as a 110 killer for a while or have a small, easy-to-zone map.

I usually never run add-ons on killer but she's one of the 3 killers I always run add-ons for, the other 2 being Billy and Onryo. I just find her so boring without charge speed.

  • Cos she's really add on reliant and takes more skill than before. W keyers are also incredibly unfun to verse and I have a curse of Overcome whenever I play her.

  • I don't think they'll nerf his base kit but I'm quite certain they'll nerf some of his add ons like mischief list and sketch.

  • @Hi_Im_Chucky said:

I’m learning Artist now and I noticed on the forums that people are suggesting she isn’t played much anymore. That about right? My question is why? Does she have a huge exploitable flaw that doesn’t show its self until higher ranked?

People seem to rate her high, say positive things about her, she feels good to me, but I felt the way way about a lot of Killers who felt terrible the higher up in the food chain I went. Like Doctor, Freddy (both versions) and Twins. I’m just afraid I might have chosen another Killer that feels strong initially but sort of falls apart when I hit red ranks.

She's very weird (and very similar to twins).

She starts fun to learn, then once you get to a certain point you verse W keyers and have some of the most unfun matches of your life, then as you learn to counter said W keyers she starts becoming fun to learn again.

Most people just dislike her power, other reached the point of versing W keyers and said "yeah nah this aint fun" and bailed her. The only people who kept playing her are the artist mains/people who are really devoted to learning her. That's why you pretty much never see her and - when you do see her - she's either a complete baby or an absolute god, no inbetween.

As for how good she is, she is quite good, probably in the top 5 or 6 since hag and twins got booted down to B tier with the circle of healing meta.

  • I wouldn't say he's weak but he could do with some QOL and add on adjustments.

Maybe 2m increased range on shock therapy, doctor hallucination linger for people in T3 longer, and detonation delay nerfs because ######### DDDoc.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

Yeah, their ratings are over the top for most of the Killers.

The only Killers labelled as easy are Trapper and Wraith. But I would count others as easy as well, e.g. Leatherface or Sadako. (Especially Sadako, she is not complicated... You have something similar to Wraith + a Teleport and thats it)

But they also label Killers like Doctor or Pig as Hard. Would not count any of them Hard, Doctor used to be Hard when you had to switch stances, but nowadays he is easy compared to back in the day (overall probably Medium difficulty).

And while they aim at new players, they could label most of the Killers easy when it is for new players, since new players will have very good results when starting as Killer due to facing new opponents as well. And even then, a 4.6m/s-Killer plays roughly the same as the next 4.6m/s-Killer. Whether you have a Trapper or a Bubba, the Basekit which is used most of the time is the same. And you dont really need to use Traps or your Chainsaw at new player-Level.

Then the descriptions also focus on the unique aspects of the Killer. But this would mean that every Killer is hard, since every Killer has unique features.

    The ratings are confusing IMO.

Trust me I thought leatherface was easy for new players but after watching some of my new-to-the-game friends attempt to play him he really isn't.

I've never seen a bubba crash more times in my life.

  • Okay so:

    • Ranked and casual mode
    • Reduced grind
    • Change loops on pretty much all maps
    • Delete circle of healing
    • Buff artist improve optimisation

I run Corrupt, Iron maiden, Brutal and Pop.

Well this is only way counter her. If they make repel longer or cool-down shorter, playing against her will be almost imposible. Her power is strong but you need to be careful while using it. She is another killer who ignoring pallets, vaults and walls.

I still think she is alright. She can get some buffs to her add-ons but i would not touch base-kit.

All an increased repel time would do is make it so you actually have to mindgame her in order to not get hit. A killers power shouldn't be removed just because someone can hold forward for a few seconds.
