I can't take The Clown seriously, whenever I see him I immediately think of "HE'S FAT!" and I start laughing my ass off.
-
How are they gonna even be able to do 6th Anniversary crowns? Add another inner-layer like how the 5th Anniversary did? If this game goes on as long as most people think it will, this will start to get ridiculous by the 8th Anniversary.

Seems a lot of people said no so far. Would you mind saying why?
The owner of the Jeepers Creepers license, who is still alive and breathing unfortunately, is a registered sex offender and used his position as a director in Hollywood to solicit little boys for roles in his films. BHVR doesn't want this license as if they were to pay money for it this disgusting human being would also get part of the profit, which they don't want and it's completely understandable. While Jeepers Creepers is a cool monster, letting a child predator get money for it would be incredibly damaging to PR and is a big no-no.

iirc BHVR's Twitter said to give feedback to Netflix about Stranger Thing's inclusion.
So uh, this was pretty much out of BHVR's power. It might've been a part of the contract or just a more unique circumstance. Makes me wonder if every IP in Dbd can just be pulled like that per request.
It wasn't pulled, the contract just ran out. When licensing deals such as this are conducted, they usually last 2-3 years and after those 2-3 years are up, the license holder has the option to re-new it or just back out, and Netflix chose to back out instead of re-new. The reason why they refused to re-sign was due to the fact they are creating their own streaming service for games, the Stranger Things game was pulled off Steam aswell. So yes, any license can end up like Stranger Things did if the companies that own them refuse to resign the deal but I doubt we'll see anything like it again unless new problems like the Netflix thing arise, but even then it takes a lot for a company to back out of a deal like this as Freddy survived the legal troubles that occurred a couple years ago and Leatherface survived the unfriendly relationship BHVR had with the Texas Chainsaw Massacre holders for a while.

In the wise words of the Million Dollar Man; "Everyone's got a price". I can definitely see it returning eventually when Netflix's game streaming service flops.

Getting rid of the perk tiers in my opinion is the best thing they could do to reduce grind without having to overhaul how the game works and how bloodpoints/iridescent shards work, They add 6 (Sometimes 9) perks every 3 months and eventually the grind is gonna get worse and worse if they continue to just sit on their hands about the subject. Once the Anniversary chapter releases, there will be 203 perks in this game and it doesn't take a genius to realize that's a lot, as it stands right now if you want to get all perks on one survivor and get them all to Level 3 it's gonna take you around 10-15 million bloodpoints which is outrageous for one survivor, if they were to kill perk tiers that number would be reduced to around 5 or so million which isn't actually that bad. They should also encourage the grind more by having more rewards for Leveling up your Devotion and Prestiging survivors and killers because there is legitimately no reason to prestige because you get nothing for it except a sub-par blood covered cosmetic.

I think the problem is that the cosmetics need to make enough money to justify the license. If a licensed skin makes barely any money than it's not financially viable to make a ton of skins.
Most of the RE skins are economically viable, especially the RE4 ones like Ashley since RE4 is getting a remake soon by Capcom. Harry and Maria from Silent Hill and the other 2 OG Cenobites would probably make their money back also.
-
I do think they should have something like this, maybe it could be you're knocked unconscious for x amount of time and you can't recover or crawl, and other survivors could resuscitate you or something, and if the killer picks you up while you're knocked out you can't make progress on the wiggle out bar. I imagine it'd be a killer perk or something.
-
They should abuse the legendary cosmetic template more, for RE you have; Ada, Carlos, Ashley, Ethan, Rebecca, Barry, Mikhail, and Brad for potential skins. For Silent Hill you have; Maria, Harry, Angela, Henry, Douglas, and Mary for potential skins. For Hellraiser you have; Butterball, Deepthroat, Doctor Channard, and Female Pinhead for potential skins, and you could probably do a Doctor Loomis skin for Laurie which would be great in my opinion even though the actor has passed away.

But camping is legitimate strategy. The devs said it themselves.
Yet they haven't added anything to encourage camping? You even get bloodpoints for pre-dropping and such in a way because of the "pallet drop" sub-category, even if they said this they clearly still recognize it's a scummy thing to do as they've added two perks which are designed to counter camping and tunneling in Borrowed Time and Decisive Strike, the closest thing they've ever added to encourage camping was old Dying Light and that was beat into the dirt very quickly and changed to what it is now. In my opinion, if a game actively dissuades you from doing a strategy it isn't a legitimate strategy in a competitive scenario

My favorite part about this scene is before this, he puts his mask on all badass and you think he's gonna completely decimate them, and then they just beating him into oatmeal. He does eventually kill all of them but only by the mob's own stupidity because they don't attack him all at once when it's clear he's starting to gain the upper hand and decide to just go at him one-by-one
-
In order to cut camping more killers should have a range limit when nearby a hooked survivor like how The Artist has, for example: Bubba's chainsaw is disabled when X amount of meters away from a hooked survivor. Making killers bleed bloodpoints if they stand too close to a hooked survivor frankly isn't gonna do anything if the killer is mad enough at the survivor because in the long run they can just play another game with BBQ and got those bloodpoints back tenfold. But they should definitely crack down hard on camping because it's the most scummy 'strategy' in the game currently and wins nothing for both sides because the other survivors just end up rushing gens and escaping while they have the chance. In order to prove this I played Insidious Basement Bubba for a dozen games and in every one of them the survivors instantly learned what I was doing and rushed gens, or all of them just disconnected. Also while doing this experiment it seriously made me question why people do this because those matches were genuinely the most boring I've had playing Dead by Daylight, just sitting there watching a hooked person while the generator complete noise goes off every 30 seconds was about as much fun as watching paint dry.
-
For context: I ranked this by how much I like their character in lore; If Freddy was Robert Englund Freddy he'd be Mid-S, I'm a big fan of Saw and I love Amanda but her brother accomplices like John and Hoffman are better characters to me, and Artist is last because her lore is far too tryhard for me trying to tell a 'deep' story and all that, and it falls flat on it's face. Just to explain a few of the hot takes on here.

500k Bloodpoints or 1000-2000 Iridescent Shards (not both)

Myers could definitely end up with a built in Mori considering his defiance to the Entity like Pyramid Head and Sadako, also it fits his character. In the future who knows about original killers because they could come up with anything, as for potential licenses though, Jason, Candyman, and IT could definitely have a mori be apart of their base-kit because it fits their characters.
-
"Last Stand" in general is a very cool name for a perk, it reminds of the line from the Bruce Springsteen song that inspired the name for Stephen King's most popular novel The Stand, "Tonight all is silence in the world, as we take our stand". As for the perk itself It'd be great in those endgame builds that are somewhat popular within the portion of the fanbase that plays solo queue only, it'd be the Spine Chill to Left Behind's Premonition as well.

I dont think the Entity is coming for the Observer, rather it's toying with him.
The Entity does understand human things in it's own, weird ways. For all we know it's birthday could simply be celebrating something else.
The Entity is actually a lot smarter and cunning than people think, it has it's own sick sense of humor like how it fused the soul of Azarov into The Wraith's weapon and when it took Freddy, it made Freddy feel like how he treated his victims in the dreamland in the transitional period between the real world and the realm of the entity. I suppose this toying of it's victims and it's tendency to take forms like the Jigsaw doll and Felix's father are why people compare The Entity to IT so much.

I want a toe-to-toe legit Alien, like the classical Grey Alien. Call him "The Visitor" and make his power based around collecting "data" off the survivors or something like how in all of the alien abduction movies the aliens main goal is to always experiment on humans to get data that could save their own species like how us humans experiment on rats and such. You could go a step further and make the alien a Roswell crash survivor who roamed the earth after the crash without a way back to his home planet, Also like someone on the DBD Subreddit recommended, they could reskin Hawkins Laboratory as the inside of Area 51 for the Alien killer or something to that effect.
-
Played five matches as The Nemesis, my first killer matches in a couple days since I had to fix an EAC issue (pissed my pants thinking I was banned), all five matches had at least one survivor with double digit hours and you can imagine how that went lol.
-
Everytime a League of Legends player gets laid I see an Artist, in other words I haven't seen her since February. I legitimately forgot she was in the game at one point
-
It'd have to be David, Bill, or Ash, Due to all of them being known long-time alcoholics. As a twist on your question, I think the first ones to pass out would be Dwight or Feng, Dwight because the reason he ended up in the realm was literally passing out in the middle of the woods after drinking moonshine, and Feng because she's a 4'10 small woman whos likely never drunk before who would probably get wasted off one beer.
-
Just leave Huntress Lullaby alone, I still get PTSD flashbacks whenever impossible skill-check Doctor is brought up. Thank god Almo got into a game with one that relentlessly bullied him and right after Huntress Lullaby got beat into the dirt.
-
April 26th according to the people I can't mention on this message board, but it might be delayed like the PTB was, but if it was I believe the people I can't mention on this message board would've reported it already like they did with the PTB delay itself
-
I don't understand why they don't do 2x BP anymore, it's always 1.5x if they even do a BP event at all, like jesus christ you could at least give us this 2x BP event every once in a while to help with the grind issue, and it might help your player numbers too like how the game got 110k players on Steam when the 5th Anniversary event with the cakes started. They're so worried about "Muh Economy" they've completely forgotten about the games ever increasing grind problem, it's not gonna get any better when you're adding 6 (sometimes 9) perks every 3 months and are still just sitting on their hands doing nothing.
-
I'm the biggest Spine Chill main on earth and even I think it's BS sometimes cause it reduces most stealth killers like Myers and Wraith to M1 Killers lol.
-
Whenever an snobbish killer main does this to "punish" me, I just alt-tab to youtube and watch videos for a couple minutes while he sits there like an idiot thinking I must feel really bad for running him for 3 gens, like no doofus, I did what the game actively encouraged me to do.

The one boon that's a problem actually was disabled at launch, and it was the best window of the game we've ever had.
It'll be effectively disabled again once the nerf hits live, not because it's actually bad but because it'll require more thought to use well, so people will flock to something easier.
This is a big thing with the killer meta too, I used to be beat over the head with Freddys then he got nerfed, then I started getting beat over the head with Wraiths, then he got nerfed, then Spirit, then Artist, etc

Right? So many times I watch someone so something so... "what were you expecting to happen there?" and I just gotta do the slow side to side rotate "no" thing, and it's just not really satisfying. And characterization be d***ed, it's not in Nemi's character to carry someone to hatch and let them go, or any killer's really, but it happens sometimes, because we're people interacting through the digital skins of people, monsters, and megs, and I think there should be enough leeway there to put in something
I think there's alot of potential for killer specific emotes, for example Deathslinger could have an emote where he spits at the ground like the cowboys in the Old West movies, Nemesis could have one where he does the flex from the game and says "Stars", Myers could have one where he does the iconic head-tilt from the movies that isn't in the game for some reason, etc.
-
What I'd love, and this has always been my dream, something like the one scene in Terminator 2: Judgement Day where Sarah thinks she's gonna be able to shoot the T-1000 into the vat of molten steel, and almost pulls it off but runs out of ammunition as she's one shot away from knocking him in, and the T-1000 just looks up and wags his finger at her. I'd love a finger wag emote for the killers so I could do it when I down someone just as they get to a pallet and are unable to use it, but I can see why they're apprehensive to do killer emotes as something like I just described doesn't fit the character of some of the killers.

oh no! you lost 1 game out of your 20 because you got unlucky and some one sent you to RPD!
Silly MMR
RPD is actually one of my favorite maps for The Blight, get someone in those long hallways and they're completely ######### for most part if you have experience with The Blight, same thing with The Demogorgon.
-
It's definitely a thing that changes depending on the player, me myself, I got into DBD when Myers got added and I'm in general a big horror guy so I always find their big license reveals to be the highlight of the Game refresh year, but other people got into this game because they liked the concept of the game in general or a friend recommended it, and they don't care for the licenses and prefer original chapters for the most part. The last time I got genuinely hyped for a chapter was when they started doing the teases for Pinhead, especially around the time the "HELL" spectrogram came out, I knew Ringu was coming before it even got announced because of the community I can't mention on here, but I was pretty underwhelmed but understood why they took it. Buffs are nice and exciting for the most part but I don't think they stand up against new content like Killers

No I was in a locker and yeah it didn't give me the chance to use it again from my next unhook.
I've actually seen this exact scenario play out with the locker grab, My best theory is that you hit the skill-check before the game could register the fact you should be freed from the killer's grasp, kind of like how you have to perfectly time a Flashlight or flashbang save, in any case it's the games fault though because you can't time a DS skill-check
-
I've had this issue before, Was by any chance the killer dropping from a great height as you hit the skillcheck? Did the perk completely deactivate as if you got off (e.g. You got downed again but this time the skillcheck prompt just didn't come up)?
-
@ThiccBudhha said:
It is all so they can add a new perk that allows us to avoid all of the map geometry in the way. They are prepping the new survivor, mark my words.
Watch it be a boon lol, I suppose we've had something similar before in form of Clairvoyance, except it wasn't the map geometry, it was people
-
I'm glad they got rid of this because people used to just switch to The Cannibal if they saw a Survive with Friends group and just proceed to put on the infamous basement build and camp one or two people to death while the three or two others just rush gens under the command of the hooked people. I've had so many Cannibal players tell me in Endgame chat "And that's what you get for being a SWF" like dude, I just Alt-Tabbed to Youtube and watched videos for 3 minutes while you just stood there and my team rushed out all of the generators and escaped.
-
In my time playing, most Blight and Nurse players have zero idea what they're doing and what they've got themselves into. Most of them are what I like to call, "Tier-List hoggers" where they just look up on Google "DBD Tier-List (Insert Current Month/Year Here)" and they see whos in S Tier or SS Tier and then they play that killer, completely unaware that Blight and Nurse take a-lot of experience and hours to get to that point of being a S Tier or SS Tier killer.
-
Make Nemesis be able to break pallets at Level 1 Mutation, Then rework Level 2 to have some other upside to it.
-
In my humble opinion, I think the number should be raised to a number that statistically can get one character to Level 50, because as it stands right now, 1 Million Bloodpoints can only get your character to (about) Level 38 if you really try to conserve your Bloodpoints.
-
For me, it has to be The Doctor, Everyone else says he's great and such, but I would rather walk through Chernobyl without a gas-mask on than play against him. I think it's a mix of his repeating annoying laugh which is funny at-first then after 5000th time you hear it, it starts to get on your nerves, and in general his annoying gameplay at loops (Which is also why I hated the "Stand Still" Spirit mind-game of yesteryear).
-
Ok so I know this sounds like a completely insane conspiracy theory, but I think the developers are actively embarrassed/have writer's remorse over the Twins' characters. Maybe it's because of the disaster that their chapter release was, or they just hate the characters but they do show clear bias sometimes towards characters like The Spirit (Half of the 5th anniversary loading screen quotes were the developers verbally fellating the character of The Spirit), and due to this hatred of them they have completely buried them by repeatedly nerfing them for no reason and giving them 0 cosmetics in hopes people would just forget about them, I would put money on their upcoming tome completely butchering their characters to ward off any fans of them Lore Guy probably built up.
-
On Dead Dawg Saloon against The Hillbilly, it was a roughly ~14 minute chase. Literally found me at the very beginning and I was in a chase with him the entire match, he kept revving up his chainsaw and trying to one-shot me and kept bumping into various objects and missing me (One of the shots he missed on me was literally point blank range), Despite him having 0 success with the chainsaw he never ONCE tried to just M1 me, and if he did he probably would've ended the chase a-lot quicker and wouldn't have been stuck in a match-long chase trying to down one guy. He never even won eventually or gave up once the last gen was done to go pressure gates or something (Which in hindsight I'm glad I didn't go down as I probably would've got face-camped to death LOL).
-
I think it sets too much of a bad precedent, because if they make The Nurse's blink attacks special attacks there can be a serious discussion to be made on them making The Wraith's uncloak lunges into special attacks, or The Ghost Face's marked shots, etc.
-
I would improve him, and the game in general by clicking on him and pressing the "Delete" button. Seriously, whenever I get into a game and instantly see two survivors with the shocks around their HUD It makes me instantly lose all focus and will to play DBD for the day, most of the time when I play against The Doctor, even if I win it almost never feels like it for some reason and I almost always have to endure 15 minutes of a match where my will to just DC and eat 5 minutes of sitting in a lobby is tested to the maximum. The worst part is, he's not even a High-tier killer or anything, He's High C-Low B tier at best and he's still the most annoying killer in the game by a longshot, at-least with the fabled God Nurses the game is essentially ended after 5 minutes of pain, The Doctor matches always have to last 15-20 minutes and make you want to jump off the nearest building after.
-
I do legitimately think it will come back eventually, because Netflix's entire reason for leaving wasn't in no way dissatisfaction with BHVR or DBD, They just wanted to start their own game streaming service which will inevitably flop. I don't think we'll ever get another scenario like that either with a license leaving, considering that option has been there for 6 years and Freddy survived the legal hell he was in for a couple years there, aswell as Bubba who's holders refused to release him on switch for a while (But BHVR has seemingly mended this relationship with all the cosmetics he gets these days).
-
When I hang around instead of just running out, it's usually because there's someone or multiple people who are still out in the wild and in a chase, and I sit in the gate and gain my bearings and heal if I'm injured and I wait there until the timer just gets too close, They get in and get out, or they get downed and I'll try my best to perform a save (Unless they're a toxic wannabe idiot, then I just leave)
-
While it is true that there needs to be a better report system than what we have now, I'll be forever glad they didn't go through with that report system concept they revealed in the 5th Anniversary stream, where enough reports would just outright automatically ban someone because if they actually went through with that, every single DBD content creator would be banned by now lol.
-
Whew, That's a hard question because when it comes to DBD's music team, they almost always knock it out of the park. PTB Pyramid Head's was my favorite but they changed it for some god-forsaken reason, as of now though The Blight, The Deathslinger, and The Legion (New PTB music) probably have the best chase themes in my opinion.
-
I think The Entity finally 'got' the Observer and tricked him into losing touch with the auris some-how and swiftly abducted him while it had the chance. I don't think The Entity would let the survivor side have The Observer due to the knowledge it has on how to defeat and weaken The Entity, and due to his knowledge he has on all of the killers like what their past was like. I think The Entity would see more value in twisting The Observer over to the killer side and having the Observer work for it and utilize all of The Observers knowledge he collected to strengthen it's grip on the realm and reduce it's chance of ever being 'beaten' by the survivors or killers. So as of now, I think the Anniversary chapter is The Observer as the killer and Haddie Kaur as the survivor. (Even if the Observer isn't the killer for this chapter, he likely will be coming soon regardless)
-
I wish they went a little bit more crazy with the outfits, I'd like an urban legends collection with stuff like Bigfoot for The Trapper, La Llorona for The Nurse, Werewolf for The Blight, etc. As it is currently, they've plateaued on cosmetic ideas as nowadays most of the cosmetics follow the same formula or ideas, I can't count on my own two hands how many neon/rave cosmetics Nea has or the amount of bland athletic cosmetics Meg has. Regarding the game mode ideas, In my opinion I'd like to see them pull off two killers somehow because it would be very fun to queue up with the friend and play killer together, just breathe some new life and fun into the game.
