He's deathslinger not quickscope.
Ah the skill. Where you just hope you dodge his spears skill because it's literally a split second shot.
It wasn't a guess it was a prediction. You had knowledge where he was and what shots he could take. Just about to turn a corner? Dodge if you think he'll fire.
Now though it's just "oh is he ADS? Yea i'll just dodge like a maniac making it borderline impossible to hit me" because survivors need things handed to them on a platter with neon lights saying "THIS IS WHAT IS HAPPENING RIGHT NOW".

The quickscope. Do you think this is Modern warfare 2 Intervention?
You can't just say "the quickscope". That's like saying why don't I like trapper and saying he's the trapper.
It's a game mechanic that took skill to play around maybe? IDK I'm not you.

I disagree. The quickscope was BS and they should make his current state get stronger as compensation.
What makes the quickscope unfair to you?
-
@Myla said:
Nah the ADS nerf is perfectly justified. I do think they should have gotten more buffs instead to compensate for the ads nerf though.
No, that's what made slinger slinger and what made him fun to play.
You can still keep the wind down time and he'd be borderline perfect in terms of fairness in chase.

Every killer that had a range attack gave you a warning that they were going to strike, Huntress, Demo, Pyramid head, trickster, nemesis. Slinger had none he could chain and down you by the time huntress raised her hatchet. These people need to stop that’s bad game design. Yes it’s strong but that doesn’t excuse bad game design. Yes he should have gotten buffs to compensate but everyone treats him like he was the best killer when in reality he was the most unfun and flawed killer
That's not bad game design because you could still predict where he shot.
Just because bad survivors couldn't figure out proper shot angles or couldn't read people properly doesn't indicate bad design.
-
I don't see gearhead anywhere on it?
-
Imagine needing to put thought into playing against a killer.
-
Ghostface and lord tony.

Remove the self care part of COH then i'll never complain about it again.
Giving the team free green medkits on top of toolboxes is absurdly broken.

Whatever you say, dude. Quick scoping was never the key aspect of his power and people who relied on it probably also struggled with huntress. Does he need a buff? Probably. Was he gutted over something this small? Absolutely not.
What. Then what is his unique aspect?
There is literally zero reason to play slinger now over huntress strength wise. Zero. Huntress has better chase, gen pressure, perk synergy, W key counters, even better zoning.
Small hole shots got removed in map reworks and you can't get the shots off anyway because of his painfully slow ADS.
They stripped everything that made him unique and made him a budget huntress. Literally EVERYTHING new slinger can do huntress can do better.
-
@TheMidnightRidr said:
He plays literally the same, you just can’t quickscope. He still has great zoning and is far FAR better than old Freddy could have ever hoped to be.
"He plays literally the same, you just can't quickscope" is the biggest oxymoron of the century.
Quickscoping is what was unique to slinger and what made his chase game so good, while I wouldn't say he's the worst he's easily bottom 5 or 6.
-
CoH because winning with 0 skill involved is boring.
-
If anything I think flat out removing the self heal part would make it fine, a full team could reset as though they all had active well make it - that's already strong enough for a boon that doesn't require the killer to be nearby for to get value out of.
-
Nah they don't hate killer, but they sure don't have a clue about balance.
-
It's funny because twins have literally infinite issues (the fatigues being the most prominent). There's a really big issue on console for them however.
@PixelBush I'm assuming you don't play any console nor see any console twins, there's a really clear reason for that: Victor pounces are incredibly hard to hit on console especially without sword. With how you have to track survivor movements during the charge up time a joystick makes it incredibly hard to hit especially if they start strafing in front of you.
This is already bad enough but you also cant strafe that well during the charge, which I cannot express how important strafing is to console aiming coming from a console slinger/trickster main. It's really hard to describe how strafing effects console so much, just know that it does.
This on top of trash framerate makes them incredibly beginner unfriendly and hard without reason.
I don't really see this discussed in your videos (which btw are really good vids). I would want victors strafe speed increased when charging a pounce, or maybe even a mini toy sword built in (which they need anyway).
-
Basically killer semi decent at loops = boring apparently.

Pinhead got the Deathslinger treatment.
Nerfed the good part without buffing the bad part.
Nah in order to get deathslinger treatment you need to nerf him to just about bottom 5 (which pinhead is at anyway) and then make him incredibly unfun to play. Plus add a 1 second delay to everything he does. Plus reduce the cooldown of possesed chains by 0.1s and then call it a buff.
Thankfully my DHope undying build will still work, so I can still send people to brazil no problem.

We all know the new killer will get nerfed but I'm sure the nerf isn't going to be that bad. Other than that I think they might nerf some of the new perks and everything else you said looks right.
Idk, she looks very easily nerf-able if that makes sense.
We have never had a killer with an infinite distance projectile and tracking this good. In fact the last killer that had tracking this good was old freddy.
Setting a hard cap of 32m to her crows (which is what I bet they're gonna do) will absolutely destroy her 1v4.
But hey, she might not even get nerfed. Maybe survivors will be too busy making another bubba or spirit complaint thread :D
-
Nah killers wont leave this time, if anything this patch looks promising (especially if they nerf CoH).
I bet that:
- New killer will get nerfed
- Map is survivor sided
- Map is removed for some time
- A few bugs

@Lawlichan said:
I never played slinger, how bad is the nerf?
Really bad for all skillsets of slinger players:
Newer slingers can no longer rely on monitor to prevent W keying, so they either have to learn map wide zoning and hard 3 genning with him (which takes quite a lot of time, hence why there was very few actual good slingers.) or eat the fat W key.
Mediocre slingers can no longer rapidly zone (which is a good thing), this means they have to learn shots and become better.
BUT
For good slingers hitting unpredictable nice shots against good players is borderline impossible with 0.4 second ADS. You are forced to zone even more than old slinger and he's incredibly painful to learn if you weren't already good with him.
Basically he became easily one of the least fun killers to play in the game no matter how good or bad with him you were.
-
@Pizzasauce said:
As someone who has never played Gunslinger, could I still have fun with him?
If you run the Bayshores cigar and Chewing tobacco together, it can be fun if you don't get good players. Same with double reload and double chain.
It all comes down to if the survivors you verse are good, if they are Id argue he's one of the least fun killers to play.
-
First off your taking opinions from ohtofu who has confirmed time and time again that he would happily give every BHVR employee sloppy toppy for 2000 more auric cells. Of course he's gonna like MMR.
Second off the game when "equal skilled survivor vs equal skilled killer" the game is incredibly unfun, and it's been proven time and time again that BHVR will not balance around high level despite having MMR in.

She's literally unplayable.
Every time I try to queue up as Spirit, BHVR reaches through my screen to hold me down as every survivor currently playing takes turns slapping me while the Seinfeld theme plays.
No that's what happens when you play slinger now not spirit. :)

Good Spirits won’t let that happen trust me.
I personally feel as though if the map is right a spirit will get looped. Under a balanced situation with add ons I think shes fine.
Her base kit gets SO screwed by W keying its annoying.
-
@hiken said:
with her dumb new addons wich just got buffed instead of nerfed i gladly will say no
Buffed? How on earth?
Her green speed, charge, and duration got removed (three of her best), purple lunge range got removed, Fathers glasses was deleted. And her basekit got a nerf.
The only decent add on we got from the rework was cherry blossom, which IMO is just for people who find tracking in her ability hard and for indoor maps. Thankfully yellow charge, speed, duration, and recharge are still there which are pretty good.
There was no buff to her add ons.

That is the objective here.
-
Thank god he's getting nerfed, less people paying for NFT head the better.
Also, with his box duration add ons being nerfed, he's easily one of the worst now, and due to his noobstomping ability he seems "good" in the statistics.

Pyramid Head: 8m~10,5m range, travels incredible slow.
Nemesis: 5~6m range, has to give a free speed boost to actually start damaging.
Deathslinger: 18m range, 40m/s projectile.
Trickster: Laceration decay, is slowed down more than any other killer to get a health state, useless beyond 10m, useless at high wall loops, needs to hit 6 projectiles, needs to reload after every chase.
Plague: Needs to hit 1 vile purge to get an infect, literally has machine gun huntress special ability, barely slowed at all for both projectiles, still needs to collect it however.
Nemesis is a decent killer because after he gives the speed boost, his progress on downing a survivor is still there and he is 115. Trickster just loses a chase if he can't BL a pallet or if the surv gets too much distance.

Mileena kahn? I thought it was kitana kahn?
Anyway, gl with that.

Both boons need a nerf. Killer's can't track survivors in shadow steps AOE when they also have IW. It's even worse if they have spine chill and get a head start.
COH gives infinite super heals to the entire team. They can heal so fast, they can almost do it mid-chase.
Funnily enough I've had no issue with shadowstep as breathing and blood still exists. COH is the new old MOM, people will claim that it's not broken yet it's game breaking.
Remember "Just use special attacks 4Head MoM is fine"? Now it'll be "Just snuff out the totem 4Head".
-
@Crowman said:
I hope the devs will make snuffing out boons more impactful at stopping those perks instead of nerfing boons into worse versions of existing perks.
I think the fact that the killer either gives up all pressure to temporarily remove the boon from play or the killer ignores the boon allowing survivors to have uncontested aoe buffs is just a lose-lose situation.
I played a game against a Nemesis who kept dropping chase to snuff my shadow step and he basically threw the game doing so. But at the same time it was a totem under the dock so you can't really just ignore it either.
Hopefully, I still think however that COH should get a fat nerf, most likely getting the self care part of it taken away.
-
Damn I must be able to look forward into the future cos circle of healing giving the entire team med kits for free is broke asf especially in matches.
Welp, looks like I'm a plague main until it gets nerfed.
-
Okay, experienced first few stutters which were when I was versing blight and then he activated his rush. Not that major but defos noticable.
For other hitches I'm guessing it's the same as the RE chapter.
-
I am not experiencing any stutters on ps4 even after a few games.
Is this perhaps platform specific?
-
Trapper probably.

DDOS is completely different than something like this.
If they could hack the game to change things in game like we all know they can. A hacker can insta heal a random survivor they can do all sorts of things. It doesn't seem completely impossible that they could also hack the game in a way that would interact with the persons console in a very negative way. Do I know anything about it? NO. But does that sound IMPOSSIBLE? Also no.
They couldn't brick it, to put it simply that would mess around with the PS itself which you bet sony has on lockdown.
They could, however, abuse faults in the games optimisation + how this game is ran on consoles.
Hypothetically, due to sloppy butcher causing frame lag on last gen consoles, if a hacker made a program to apply the sloppy butcher effect 100 times over every second then the game would certainly crash, and if not crash then go to 0 fps while the program is active. It's probably even possible to overheat old/uncleaned PS4s with the right stuff.
In fact, sloppy butcher might not work, but I'll bet a lot that there is something that can be exploited to cause the game to crash.
-
Okay this isn't even funny.
How, when something goes bad with this game, does something WAY WORSE THAT ISN'T EVEN THINKABLE OF happen.
I don't get it.
How.
Anybody on ps4 rn wanna queue up to verse a console trickster, would be greatly appreciated.
(also yea as @GrayEyes said it's most likely not bricking a console, but a DDos attack. However there still is a possibility of other things happening, such as forcing a ps4 to overheat)
-
@WeenieDog said:
This might be a hot take, but I find shadowstep way more stronger. Circle of healing is straightforward and consistent in what it offers but shadowstep can make tiles into a nightmare, even if those set ups are rng.
I have to disagree.
COF gives everyone a we'll make it on others, brown medkit on yourself, highlights the totem for every survivor to see saying "COME HERE FOR HEALS", all at the expense of a little time wasted by one survivor and 1 perk slot.
Shadowstep has more counterplay as it's clear when it activates, you can change your pathing to go in areas with more LOS, and it really don't do much on outdoor maps. Indoor however it's a monster perk.
-
Sluzzy you've made so many troll posts you're making me think you actually think this way.
Does doing a little trolling not get boring after you've done it the exact same way for ages?
