  • This is what is strange because it's only a result of this new scoring, I thought adept only used to require the "no-one escaped" score result, it has been a long time since I did my killer adepts so not sure. Or at least that's how it should be now, I've seen so many killers getting destroyed post reset while trying to go for adept, basically requires a perfect match with no DC's which is beyond the killers control. Completely surprised they haven't looked into changing this yet.

  • I feel this way too, there seems to be no point since they did that "balancing" to make all perks viable at tier one. I literally only have Tier 3 DH and NOED on some of my killers purely because I got these back when tiers made a difference (and you had to get tier 3 to get NOEDs exposed effect). I kind of wish there was a better "haste" perk for slower killers, I know people say PWYF but that's basically useless for me compared to other perks I can run. Maybe Tiers of perks should just be removed all together if there's no difference between the levels, just messes up the bloodweb grind further...

  • @Darkskies I know I read pimping and just couldn't help but laugh and was distracted from the entire point of this thread...๐Ÿ˜‚ Thanks for taking it to "pimp dwight" though

I can 1 up ya person dcing the second the map loaded up against the plague first day out and another that raged because they was stupid against a huntress and didant count hatchets thrown then tried to have my psn banned through false reporting

I literally had something similar the other night, someone DC'd in the haddonfield intro camera pan. I couldn't help but laugh, they saw a second of the intro and couldn't handle it...

  • No it just likes to deprive you of what you want, took my lv 50 Myers another 20x lv 50 regen webs to get M&A, I even got tier 3 of all legions perks before it... It's random and, like me, the RNG gods did not favor you.

  • Hmm okay don't have a favourite build but I'll list my most used perks across the board, sometimes are builds too if I have all on one.

Killer: Thanatophobia, M&A, Devour Hope, Discordance. Occasionally overcharge (common on old builds)

Survivor: Spine chill, pharmacy, plunderer's, SB or adrenaline, occasionally alert or iron will

I know my builds are trash but I like them, changes depending on some killers too, I love blood warden/MYC on pig. Don't have a tried and true meta like BBQ/nurses/ruin etc

  • I actually love those games of "can't touch the item" it's so funny when the killers like "No, it's mine now" every time you try to sneak in and reclaim your item ๐Ÿ˜‚

  • I don't know, I play Myers mostly but can freehand switch between hag, freddy, trapper, doctor, wraith, legion and pig pretty fluidly, I've only once had the problem where I tried playing at rank 8 as a terrible huntress that was an experience. However, I learned all of these on the old system though when season reset actually meant something. I would try new killers on resets so I could play rank 10-13 matches as them etc. With this new ranking system though, your suggestion is good, but again, rank means nothing now, you'll just get deranked tryhards at rank 20 post reset now bc they don't see the point in pipping or ranks so until ranking is fixed it's a big ????

  • @Incirion Yeah, I don't know if I'll give up completely, I like playing killer just not right now, I'll hold some hope that things do get fixed soon. Pulling people off gens as nurse or Mikey is beautiful, I'll never forget that first surv I jumpscared bc he was hiding in the basement and I had vanity mirror and watched him walk up the stairs wounded and just flew around the corner of the shack and wrecked him, apparently scared him good (and spent most of my time after apologising ๐Ÿ˜‚) or the fun of winning a tight mindgame I don't think I'd give that up completely. I get SWF isn't always the bad guy it's made out to be, I find it harder with friends sometimes, especially a while ago when I was teaching a new friend to play. It's just those toxic hitsquads with horrible builds and instaheals that we can all agree are horrible to face. You can usually tell 4 man SWF squad when they all have the same meta perks ๐Ÿ˜‚

  • I don't know, depends how you play, I follow a "wouldn't want that to happen to me" personal rule when playing killer so I don't get much salt. I find some fellow survivors will even send you hate if they don't like how you played etc. I get angry at things that happen but then after a while you realise you don't actually care and it doesn't matter, there's always another match, some people take it way too personally. What's the point of ruining someone else's day, sometimes I've been wrecked by a killer and just laughed with them over something that happened in the match or a simple GG if they played well, I even do the same with survs that wipe the floor with me or escape because they're good.

On a positive note I have received lovely messages from survs over time as a killer, even some saying how I've jumpscared them or simple ggs or how they were glad I didn't camp or hook them when they were stuck in a tree or tunnel as a legion etc. I always thank kind survs, shame there's so many ego filled toxic people out there who are also probably the people who DC when they missed their old DS etc. We definitely could use more positive comments in the community, if it's horrible keep it to yourself and congratulate people on playing well?

  • @Incirion That pretty much sums it up, I wasn't enjoying the graphics/sound changes (particularly on console) and the fact the really good survs who can't (or can't be bothered to, not going to assume they were SWF) pip trash me as I'm a casual killer (might play a couple hours back to back switching killers or playing one to learn etc) and highest rank I played was at 5 as Freddy prior to season reset, so in no way do I bother playing it competitively, more for fun when I get sick of survivor (which I play both solo and with one friend). Just isn't fun when it's too easy or way too stressful and this has been only as of this update that I've found killer immensely stressful, more than usual.

Also I remember icons for some reason, gives them an association for me mentally ๐Ÿ˜‚ Throws me when a person who has had an icon for a long time changes until I readapt.

  • This would be destruction guaranteed. I like it as is (maybe blocking the hatch isn't a bad idea though) just wish it lasted slightly longer sometimes it feels like it's gone before I even get to the gate, on tier 3 perk that is.

  • @Incirion I love how you changed your icon to a survivor too ๐Ÿ˜‚ In all seriousness I stopped playing killer since last update and I played it casually then, it's a mess, hopefully the midchapter patch might fix some of the issues. Survivor isn't great right now either, haven't played with the most recent surv emblem changes (increased by one point, reminds me when they increased lunar event to +1 point for killers) but trying again tomorrow night with one friend, we've been avoiding like the plague for a month (no pun intended)

  • @Shad03 Yes, now that's a cool bioshock killer idea, houdini might be a little bit wraith like though wouldn't it? Spider splicer would be cool though, just based on the fact I've wanted a killer that can climb walls for a while now, despite how disorienting it may be for POV

  • I misread this and took it as "a press to restart button" in game for when it breaks, infinite loading etc without closing the game and going through the lengthy boot sequence ๐Ÿ˜… but I'll just say nope, a lot of changes were for the better, it's normal to have good and bad changes over the course of such a game.

  • I had one of these on the haddonfield map, that far corner house with the basement gen and 2 sets of stairs with a pallet in the inbetween area. I found a meg, hit her, stalked her as she threw down the pallet, she ran up the stairs on her side and instead of following her like she believed I ran up the ones on my side and curved around to the doorway (as she was running to the street side) and hit her down, she DC'd before she even hit the ground, before Mikey even finished looking at the blood on his knife, I was losing it, it was beautiful. It wasn't even a mindgame... she just made a not so well thought out choice of direction. I find them funny but if you're trying to pip etc I can see why it would get annoying.

  • First choices? This was back in Dec 2017 but I'm pretty sure it was Jake with his flame boots and bedazzled pants and Trapper bc first killer? and I didn't get the dlcs instantly. First killer I faced is beyond memory, I spent a lot of my first matches learning all the mechanics (not knowing what scratch marks were until I played killer was funny, before that I ran everywhere) so the individual killer, no idea. I remember a doctor pretty early on though.

  • @StarMoral

I agree with the cancel and the timer being strange changes however I don't miss the 3rd one, I was sick of multistab legions as a survivor, feral frenzy to me is a tracking/pain spreading power not a downing power like billy, I was a wound uninjured with deep wound, target everyone if possible then 110% mindgame with M&A for initial surprises kind of legion. The timer not going down in TR + the larger TR seems a little strange though, in theory it's good for encouraging legion to move to the next surv but if the timer is super long to go down and the mending is 15s it's a waste of a power besides the initial hit, I would prefer if they just made the timer go down faster when out of your terror radius to compensate or addons to do this more effectively, I'm just sick of that timer not actually meaning anything. It's not like pig or plaque where there's at least a penalty for being slow to get rid of it, especially now since they can just mend in your 32m TR without penalty. In all my matches people have collapsed from deep wounds approx 5x and that was just bad survivors, there's no active threat to the power/timer.

  • @powerbats I did like your suggestion, however if they just did 2 missed swing and cancel I would accept that as fair, even if there was a little extra recovery between speed of swings, cancelling the full power on one miss was what I found a little harsh given the potential possibilities on console.

  • @StarMoral The thing I don't get is if they fixed the deep wounds timer thing with this and legion can't do any more damage/timer etc with multiple frenzy attacks anymore then why such a heavy penalty for missing your first attack? What if you're trying to chain between survivors? Missed one, too bad, have to wait for a full bar recharge etc. I'm going to reserve full judgement until after I see how it plays in game but being a console pleb I just have to hope changes from PTB feedback reflect console issues which is unlikely in some cases stated above. 2-3 missed strikes causing this I could handle, missing first hit is a bit much

  • @StarMoral

    • Feral Frenzy is immediately and automatically cancelled whenever The Legionย misses an attackย while in frenzy.ย

  • @powerbats Do you play console or PC, this may help as to why I think it's a bit much, I play console, it is much much less smooth, even with recent updates (that made everything look like mud), hence what may seem like "oh you just play bad, have a penalty" turns into "wow I love *nonexistent* console optimisation" plus it's longer than a normal killer missed attack... plus I didn't say your changes were a bad change I just mean all of what I have said towards the devs proposed mechanic

  • @KillermainBTWm8 This is what scares me, PC penalty for missed attacks may be fine and thus not a huge issue for PTB feedback but how are we meant to see how bad it is on consoles??

  • I agree 100% with this so thanks for putting this out there, getting tired of all the screaming about this today when we haven't even touched it yet but I actually realised the TR increase might be a "supposed" killer instinct range buff to encourage spreading of deep wounds to all (albeit still local) survs. I'm just against the missed attack thing but as you stated "console" which is what I play so RIP

They could change it so that if you miss an attack it drains 2x the energy as what a hit would be. That would keep people from simply spamming it like currently although the change isn't bad.

You have to make sure you're going to hit them not act like you've got free unrelenting and swing wildly till you get a hit.

@powerbats I get that you're not meant to swing wildly but sometimes you don't get that first hit because they change directions/ 360 etc and you have a narrow POV (hence part of why I run M&A and used to use shadowborn) I usually don't miss more than one hit though. It's just going to be a little overboard to go well you missed too bad *insert stun and power drain*

@Hoodedfengm1n You're going to be pretty happy with the shrine then ๐Ÿ˜‚ https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/57830/this-week-s-shrine#latest

I just want the "Miss attack, lose Frenzy" thing to go.

The rest I can live with.

This, this is literally the only thing I have an issue with, larger TR to a degree too but I can live with that but missed one attack is too much

  • If only they kept that thanatophobia buff (but not have it alter healing speed) *is still disappointed* But couldn't you just down them with increased base speed? I mean people rarely healed in my matches before and I have thanat, usually just ran M&A and destroyed them. I never bothered using frenzy on an injured person to be honest.

I've heard Survivor mains are on their team. But that I can't prove.

What I DO know and CAN prove is that the game director is bad at the game. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R98e-Y4Lu8w

The match in this video is the reason why insta blind flashlights were removed by the way.

They should not be the face of the dev team, handling the streams along with not_Queen, much less the director.

Legion had potential. I've said it before and I'll say it again.

If they reworked or increased the rarity tier of Frank's, removed moonwalking and the blade exploit, and buffed Legion's ability to spread damage across Survivors by having Legion gain a speed boost and possibly a power extension every time Legion successfully Deep Wounds a Survivor until their Frenzy ends. This would encourage Legion to pursue other Survivors. Which was the main purpose of Frenzy to begin with: Damage all Survivors easily and quickly, but not down them.

But I have a feeling that's going to change. Making Frenzy movement speed SLOWER is nerfing Legion's intended purpose. That needs to go. Unless the devs either don't care about the original purpose anymore and just want to appease the majority of the playerbase, or are trying to change the purpose of Legion to appease Survivors. Or both.

Fix the exploits, buff Frenzy, deal with Frank's Mixtape. Done.

Remove half of these nerfs, they aren't necessary. Legion would be more encouraged to target other Survivors as a result of my proposed changes, stopping tunneling and causing Survivor complaints to go down as a result.

@bubbascal I didn't think we'd agree today but here we are. They just needed to fix a few things and remove exploits as you said but they went overboard. If they just did those I don't even think I'd care about movement speed. This is why I've been saying I'll be interested to see how all of these things stack, seems like that wasn't considered much.

  • @Speshul_Kitten said:

You were never supposed to use frenzy to down survivors. If thatโ€™s how you played them you were playing them wrong, hence the frustration; hence this rant post.

Wow the accuracy of this, amazing. Repeat stabbing to down was the one thing most people complained there was no counterplay for and wasn't fun etc etc now it's changed. I think not necessarily all of the changes are needed or necessary but this was one of them, their power isn't a down power, what a surprise. I play as legion and don't multistab and can get consistent kills, I play as a survivor and while I don't DC at legion and think there is counterplay, franks mix tape and stabaholic/moonwalk legions needed to go.

  • @Meme said:

Agreed. This dude is basically complaining that he doesn't have a crutch anymore. Pallet was a counter? MInd game or better yet use YOUR DAMN ABILITY to jump over it. Don't want to break It like almost the rest of the killers have to do? Use the add on that allows you to break pallets while vaulting. @Bbbrian2013

This is true actually, the only looping problem I had as a legion was the haddonfield fences as I don't multistab a single surv with frenzy (I used it as a tracking/pain spreading/location power) otherwise I would wound w/ frenzy then just mindgame/down with 110% either in that chase or later when they refuse to heal, now movement speed is boosted I'm happy as this shouldn't be a huge issue anymore, just really waiting to see how all the changes play together to be honest. Also I break pallets instantly or when I go past, not interested in leaving that open to play. I guess larger base TR also means better tracking, encouraging stabbing different survs, but with the duration etc and addons I think it's too early to be calling anything.

  • Probably, less cheese legions the better, as a non cheese legion player though I'm really just waiting to see how it plays. Seems a little harsh on some areas, good on others. Love how every 2nd post on here right now is screaming about it though...

  • @Supernaut That's just disappointing then... How could they possibly change dream demon? Actually I don't want to know, I doubt it will be for the better overall, at least they accept he needs some positive changes though.

  • @jsphwtsn Bamboozle??? If you'll excuse me I'm going to go get that bc screw levelling up the clown like I did with LF recently to get BBQ. Thank you ๐Ÿ˜˜

  • Just after I struggled through leveling up LF too, darn.

  • @powerbats Yeah I wouldn't know about the remakes, I played the originals on ps3 years ago, still have them too, but I've replayed so many times I can't replay anymore hence I didn't get the remakes ๐Ÿ˜‚ I think the reason infinite got so many people who didn't like it was because how different it was, it felt like a spinoff rather than a true 3rd game. I preferred the whole adam harvest/eve hypo and upgrading powers that way in the old games and the darker way you could see your power equipped on your hand (bloody ice shards sticking out of my hand was my fav compared to weird bird hand in infinite). I loved the darkness of it, the trickles of water, the mad raving of adam obsessed enemies, the shadows darting across the walls, the sudden big sister out of nowhere to destroy you, rapture was a true disintegration of a "perfect" society. Infinite felt more like a rinse/repeat shooter in comparison. I would definitely recommend trying them if you can.

  • Yes, I recently tried learning to play him and I thought it was a bug but it happened all the time, it's crazy loud, must be why his chainsaw is silent in match ๐Ÿ˜‚

  • I've always wondered this, saw that it transferred your TR on release and disregarded it, didn't see the numbers though. I would love a concrete answer. I generally play low TR on most of my killers, has anyone tested it in game? Same with distressing.

  • Funny because I rapidly went from trapper to doctor to shape when I was first learning killer, forged myself in hellfires as a shape with bad perks and still managed to get to rank 12 on the old kills based pip system with less than 20-30h experience over a weekend. I didn't touch billy/LF for the longest time, sure they're easy now but as a fresh killer I could not billy for the life of me. Wouldn't say hag is too difficult early on, once you get it you get it and I saw earlier you suggested this was from a new killer view point at low ranks too. Agree with nurse, spirit and huntress though. Wraith is pretty basic to learn so probably better with trapper level

  • I used to main freddy for a long time, like you he's still in my rotation occasionally, as a result you get used to his current playstyle and after seeing devs completely switching how legions power works yes a little scared, hoping for slight tweaks and buffs not what happened to legion...

  • @Shad03 I use spine chill basically every match and I'm pretty sure spine chill doesn't activate on myers tier 1, works on spirit phase, pig crouch and wraith etc though

  • This made me laugh, I just, wow.

  • I apparently scare some people using my current build with dead rabbit/ vanity mirror addons. Devour hope, M&A, thanatophobia, discordance. Maybe switch out Thanat for Nurses and you can sneak up on people who actually heal or spirit fury or haunted grounds to become true terror. If you're meme style do as above with the scratched mirror/lery's but if you want to actually win some matches and get in some scares I find vanity mirror is nicer (unpopular opinion I know) NOED is also funny enough suggested above, no-one really expects the exposed without the usual tier 3.

  • @Carpemortum said:

No, you paid to play the game, and in its ToU I GUARANTEE there's a part that says "content is subject to change" which you agreed to.

There will not be refunds for changing variables on a part of the game, simply because some don't agree with it.

    Beyond that, the changes are

A- Not as bad as people want them to be and

B- Not even SEEN how they work in a game, just on paper.

So how about we wait a few weeks and see how things shake up.

Yeah, I'm on side with this, I don't like say the TR or loss of frenzy on ONE missed attack HOWEVER I do like the boosted base movement speed and the fact that it does stomp out multi stab cheese moonwalk legions so I'd rather wait it out and see how it all comes together INGAME than to cry now and say burn it all. Devs have just SUGGESTED changes, there will be a PTB and they are looking for feedback, getting sick of all this outrage on just a mention of the changes.

  • @LCGaster said:

Lose Frenzy on missed attack, full gauge to use, slower Frenzy, bigger Terror Radius AND the timer doesn't go down when in it. What the hell?

I understand why they made it so that the timer doesn't go down in the terror radius but they shouldn't have made it bigger.

The main problems I have with this are the slower Frenzy and the missed attack thing. Having a slower Frenzy makes it even harder to chain hits, even if a survivor is inside the Terror Radius most of the time I can't even reach them in time. And it's not as easy as it seams to hit someone when in Frenzy, it can be juked.

Devs, I know you still have time to change it. Don't bring all of this changes.

@LCGaster Makes me glad I already ran M&A over the TR changes but that loss on a missed hit, that's crazy, do they know how fast you move and how blurred it can be esp if you use addons, I usually do get first hit but occasionally esp after vaulting a pallet I'm liable to miss an attack due to my FOV and survs trying to revault or change directions.

  • It's nice they are doing a mini community test for this first before implementing, I want to try it first (console so I'm relying on PC legions/players to save this) but they sure went overboard at face value

  • @powerbats said:

I never played the rest but liked Infinite only for the Easter Egg stuff and the mind screwing it gave you. I also didn't bother buying the remastered bait job they sold.

@powerbats Did you just say you never played the originals? Infinite was pretty cringy, (@DarkWo1f997 I almost didn't finish it but kept going) but towards the end it got really good, ending was overrated to be honest...But 1/2 were amazing, made infinite feel like a totally different series (too bright ๐Ÿ˜‚) didn't bother with the remasters either, getting a little sick of companies remastering games that aren't even that old...

  • True enough everyone has their favourite, it looks oh so wrong when you mix and match legion "parts" though. I'm happy with my generic franky-boi. Devil may care is pretty cool but I think it's fine that it's joey's unique thing. Who's your favourite btw?

  • @DarkWo1f997 True, been literal years since I played, I wasn't considering alphas but again a sprint based killer didn't go down so well the first time. What would it's ability be?

  • @Carpemortum pretty accurate for this community, if it can be abused it WILL be abused.
