I know, is it a bluff or a double bluff???
they secretly want all the up votes, I see...

@Boss Thank you for bringing the devour hope love, I too do the pretend it's not there style and I had a "the stars have aligned" match where it was extremely well hidden, I was on Lery's as Myers and the game went from genrush to slaughter as soon as it went off.
@Yamaoka I did think initially PWYF was really situational but I tried it on a spirit the other night and it was AMAZING I was completely surprised, I guess trying it on a Mikey eons ago when first starting out made it look worse but I can definitely see the potential in it now.
-
This was kind of conflicting as a question, I would be considered a mikey main however I loved playing pre-nerf legion and spreading deep wounds then doing those satisfying 110% M&A mindgames. I guess it will be back to Mikey for now depending on how legion changes affect my playstyle (console so who knows anyway). I guess this question is difficult for me because I go through phases of really liking a killer as I learn them and then I change. So I like all of them in a way? Can they all be favourites at a given time?
-
Generally M&A, Thanatophobia, Discordance and Devour hope - Myers or Legion (I just realised their builds are 90% the same besides DH). Occasionally switch around devour hope but it's there 90% of the time. I'm not honestly sold on needing M&A as mikey, I used to use overcharge and between that and discordance it catches a few people at gens. M&A is way more effective for me on legion due to their height and looking like a survivor...

Aside from myself as survivor (I'm a chill survivor and pretty serious killer. Except Billy, who I'm messing around with because I'm trash as him), I've came across a lot of chill players.
Once there was a Billy, back in patch 1.6, I looped him hard, and he couldn't catch me, so we just farmed because he was sad .
As killer, I was Mike on Haddonfield and they were popping gens so quick (one year ago, andnthe average speed of gens now was like completely off the scale fast back then). So a G-Dette and a Meg farmed with me because I stood in the middle slapping a van over and over again.
@Poweas I REMEMBER THIS GEN SPEED, I remember just starting a match as a mikey and had a friend playing survivor in the match (we actually like to test ability against each other, no holding back) and literally 3 gens went off in the first 30s... I'm not even kidding, green toolbox plus old brand new part, plus a 3 man SWF was terrifying back then.

I had some great laughs yesterday with a newly added friend. Playing SWF, no comms, got massacred every game, still made no big deal out of it. These are the people I like playing with: no crying about "crutch perks", "toxicity", "CAMPER F*GG*T NOOB TUNNELER" and so on... Just having fun and taking a loss without going ape every time.
This is not to say you shouldn't do your hardest to win. You should, game's not fun otherwise. But after the game, take a deep [GOOD_WORD] breath, before you'd start spewing bile. Learn to appreciate memes too and give some love to that Leatherface jealously guarding you throughout a whole game. Especially as survivor: yeah, you'll get killed every once in a while. I keep telling you, that's what survivors are for.
You mean "sharing loving stares with the bae" time? Yeah I've had this both with a mikey and an insidious trapper lately, so cute they want to spend half the match with me. ❤️

Nurse's Calling on Plague. Insidious or Dying Light on Legion. Play with Your Food on Hillbilly or Nurse. Distressing on Michael.
@ShrekIsHot But hasn't there been a build lately that has both infectious fright and distressing as a tier 3 super snowball?
-
I think this would be nice, so many times we have to guestimate if they are SWF and most assume it is if certain criteria are met but would be nice as a still developing killer to make sense of who escapes my matches and if I can use what I learned in that match in other SWF scenarios. No 2 SWF are alike but it would be a nice feature, even better if it came with a slight bp bonus for playing against them based on how many members of the trial were SWF

I once jumpscared a Mikey, i know that because he freaked out and told me in the end game chat, was pretty funny to see.
@Plu Wow I just had a hope this wasn't me moment (but you're on PC), I literally had the same thing happen when I was learning to play killer, I got jumpscared by a hiding meg that threw a pallet on me out of nowhere and I was laughing for the next 2 minutes, partly in fear, partly in the stupidity that the "killer" got scared.
(Sorry, old thread, got bored and started reading lore 😅)
-
This is honestly why I use M&A, there's a slight boost, I used shadowborn on legion initially because of the rapid motion but M&A gives benefit and FOV increases. It's quickly becoming a must have perk for me, shame it changes depending on chase though, it would be nice to have shadowborn or even just the slight M&A increase FOV.
-
I feel like I've seen the answer to this before and the short answer was no, they only affect dream world survivors. Freddy's lullaby is consistent
-
I think on any survivor match there's like 5-6 on the whole map and you're lucky if you get one in your chase because there's always that person who throws them down for no apparent reason early match anyway. It's nowhere near as bad as it used to be, it would be like find a pallet, walk a couple of meters in any direction and find more.
-
Getting blood warden to go off on a survivor that messed with you all match then just slowly closing in on them as they back towards the exit, bonus if myers with a mori up yo sleeve. Last time it happened with pig and then I just slowly stood up and revealed the hidden blade to the wounded min, so satisfying.

Don't forget that since rank resets are still monthly and a lot of people play casually ranking does not actually matter, it's just an indicator of how much you've "played" (or suffered) within the month, not of actual skill for most players...

It's why they balance around the casual players, cause that's where the vast majority is.
Just barely 10% of players reach rank 10 as Survivor, and only 6% do so as Killer.
@Boss What???? I play casual (only friday night /occasional weekends) and only 4-6h sessions on those nights and I've routinely made it to old rank 1 survivor (and old rank 5 killer but I played this much less) and new rank 5 survivor (haven't played much killer at all since latest updates so around rank 10) I thought I was pretty bad/average at both though, how is the general community achievement for rank 10 only 6% that's crazy given how easy it used to be to rank up, suddenly you just added a new level to why this game is balanced around rank 20... Thanks for this, genuinely interesting +1
-
I don't really get why so many people are against this... When you went through the pain to unlock community specific challenge items and your own bar counter that during the "different" playstyle of the events which can be hard fought for why shouldn't they remain exclusive, I didn't get the billy summer BBQ weapon, that was a choice, but I got both Huntress hound and King's Donkey jacket through effort as well as the new lunar min and ace. They're a reward for a reason, what's the point playing the sometimes questionable event if you can just buy it later... As some have stated above if they do put them up in store it would be nice to have a slight variation for those who earned it in game during the events...
Edit: Also to those who say you "don't have time" I literally grinded through all the above only on weeknights/weekend nights and the events near ALWAYS get extended anyway, devs give people time to do the events, it's not unreasonable for a casual gamer...

@ASurvkillivorer Great news to hear you finally got it 😊 Not sure, this might just be a new bug then... I don't run PWYF or any obsession perks anymore, but I did in the past mori the obsession to get dying light and that worked fine (about 1 year ago to be fair), I thought it was just holding it without the kill indicator that turned it to a lunge, pretty sure EW3 can do a mid and long range lunge, it does feel like a lunge if you tap but that may just be how the knife attack looks first person compared to actually going the distance of a full EW3 lunge. I know there is a difference, it's the difference between me going 1 step or me going approx 3 steps to a survivor if holding down the attack, also pretty sure if there was auto full lunge it would destroy Tier 3 against good 360s. Honestly I'm just willing to say it might be a bug given how it's only recently. I used tombstone pieces a bit as a youngin' mikey about a year ago and never had this issue, could just be something on the new engine.
I think this trophy is the definition of "you have to be a prick" 😂 I felt so bad going for it but the complete wave of relief when you get it is worth the potential heart attacks (similar to kill 4 in a single match w/ ebony). Funny you mention the ward though, I have 10+ tombstones stored at lv 50 and that plus fragrant appear constantly in my webs, black wards are actually MORE rare for me personally (I have like...one? I use them only on vanity/dead rabbit if I'm running low). Honestly I prefer dead rabbit/ J myers memorial for a normal match or dead rabbit/ vanity mirror for an interesting match. Sad really that I can't bring myself to use the ultra rare addons that are unique to my killer in a normal match. Maybe occasionally a tombstone piece to destroy those who show you disrespect at the gates or during the match but other than that... nah.
I guess this whole thread is why there really isn't a set in stone method for getting this trophy, it's a bit of skill, a bit of deceit, a bit of planning and a LOT of luck. To be fair even though I got it first time I actually hated getting adept shape more, I think that was literal ecstasy getting that the first time because WOW THAT'S A BAD SETUP TO BE FORCED TO USE. Probably made worse by DC's and new merciless requirements, RIP new mikeys, I feel so bad for all the ones I see trying to get adept in my recent matches.
This whole thread has made me feel so rusty, need to put the killer pants back on during the upcoming bloodhunt event, have 10+ BPS, 15 puddings and 10 shells for this on my mikey 😂 Anyway, interesting discussion, congratulations again and potential new bug to look out for.

@MauXD24 I feel like I've seen a nurse recently with a ruin and MYC build, I was not expecting a MYC, funny how rare that is to see on a nurse given how fast she can return to a hook...
In any case it's just another symptom of the DC epidemic, I've had entire survivor matches go from certain win where everyone could have lived to barely survive or die just because I instantly lose 2 teammates who can't handle the game...they act like first hook is the last at the middle/start of a match.
-
Survivor: Don't really have one... I play them all bc I have different perks on different survs been swapping between ash (an interesting experience given I don't use MoM or adrenaline/dead hard on him), jane and kate lately
Killer: Probably Mikey for the majority (hence main I suppose), though partial to some legion, hag, wraith sessions...
-
I know asia matches can be red ping but as far as I've experienced even as red ping there is actually no lag strangely enough, and I've played a lot of matches against Japan in the previous matchmaking test...They'll probably add it for AU/NZ, just wait and see first...
-
No sadly, I think I saw one that was familiar but might have been from a previous match years ago. Play Ps4 but as above not everyone here uses their in game names so??? I hope I run into some one day though 😉
-
I've noticed there is a massive wait time even for survivor for matches lately, I play rank 9 currently bc I've only played twice since last reset and it shouldn't be this bad mid rank? When I finally did get a match it was a constant 1000 ping LF, let's just say that I didn't even know that ping was possible and that match was as amazing as I thought it would be...😂
-
Again funny, I feel like the best summary I have seen was in a conversation I had with a killer the other night, they camped me post gate open after not being able to catch me all match and were hitting me repeatedly on the hook and I said GG to be nice because I did have fun in the chase that went for 3 gens and they got 2k anyway and they just went on some toxic rant so I had to block them just because I said GG nicely... I've also had survivors trash me for crouching with UE against a hag which is pretty much common sense for an unhook and they didn't even go second phase, they just ran off the hook, triggered all traps and got salty... People will literally complain about anything in this game, makes it hard to just be nice especially when people just get tilted from it anyway...Play your way and they can get tilted all they like, you're the one getting bp at the end of the day. I'm still going to send nice comments to killers/survs though, if they get tilted they must live in some sad toxic little world...no point acknowledging the toxicity and stopping genuine kindness post match for some horrible people...
-
@Dwight_Fairfield That's interesting, I've tried it both ways now and never experienced it. Maybe there's some map/placement specific change that throws it back to a lunge? Anyway thank you for replying, wasn't sure who to call in for reinforcements anymore.
-
@ASurvkillivorer Okay I tested it out with a friend in KYF the other night, and as long as you are within range and the kill prompt comes up it doesn't matter if you do accidentally hold it given you are RIGHT NEXT TO THEM (can't vouch for other distances turning it into a lunge) also thank you for making me test it because I tried it on a friend who plays Jane and mid mori her bun flew off her head and was floating next to her as she was mori'd then when I threw her to the ground her hair slowly rolled back to her head and we were losing it with laughter. 😂
As for getting the trophy I ran a particularly dirty build to get it first try. Did tombstone + fragrant with Hex ruin, Hex Thrill of the Hunt and Overcharge as a stalling build (can't remember the 4th perk maybe thanat, discordance may help more for SWF? all tier 3 perks). Stalled as much as possible, was lucky to have one dumb surv to stalk to tier 2 off (also the one that had old DS and DC'd), found the others and completed then started the moris, one DC'd while I started but it does still count if you started the animation before they DC (I had just grabbed her and held her up and it counted), the others were pretty easy to round up after as they were still trying to do gens and last one left tracks past the hatch.
It is unfortunately the luck of the draw with this trophy, more and more people are starting to get that lockers counter it and even with my build they got to hatch stage (2 gens done) bc it takes forever to get to tier 3. I was just incredibly lucky to get it on my first tombstone try (tried earlier as a baby mikey with tombstone piece+stalk addons and got 3/4), also did it on the springwood map (by RNG) if that makes any difference, I can't imagine trying to get this on a locker heavy map such as the game.
Hope it works out for you soon, it's barely a matter of skill anymore for this trophy, it's almost 90% luck if the survs don't DC. I'm never going to stop being glad I got this before the DC epidemic, maybe it will change when dedicated servers arrive? I mean I was in a match recently against a ebony mori mikey and 2 survs DC'd as soon as the killer started the mori... DC's are probably the biggest hurdle to this trophy now considering people just DC at a regular mori... best of luck
Edit: Also I know it's a risk but I did end up hooking 2 survs to draw out some others and you may be able to use this to locate those ones that try to hide it out or maybe use whispers if it's getting bizzare levels of immersive. It is a BIG risk given some survs like to suicide on hook, but it did potentially help me hide my intentions long enough.
-
Yeah I know how you feel, I only play friday nights most times and that means that I don't play enough to pip enough to go up ranks before the season resets, it's not too bad if playing with at least one friend team wise as we both used to be at red ranks together but now since we play too casually for this system we get stuck with the poor newer killers who get wrecked and it's not great. Rank resets shouldn't be monthly if it's harder to pip, maybe they should be every 2 months?
-
@MystiKasT I just don't like her power (plus her lunge is laughable), she feels a little weak to me unless you're going for a gen/area defence build. Don't get me wrong there are a lot of people who do like her and play her well, I just personally don't like her playstyle. Definitely ask around or check old threads though before deciding.
-
@Dwight_Fairfield You main mikey right, could you back me up on if holding down the attack while within range of a kill reverts it to lunge? I don't remember 100% if it does but it's been so long since I tombstoned someone...
-
@ASurvkillivorer Ah now you're really testing me, I've been an anti tombstone/piece mori mikey since that trophy only using DH rarely (which does require normal mori hold down)... I'm pretty sure you MUST be within range, I don't think you need to hold it down, as far as I remember it is just get in close to the survivor and tap the kill prompt button and it plays out normally as if you grabbed them mid run, holding initiates lunge only if outside of the range of a kill but I can't make any promises on that it doesn't if you're close and hold down (I don't think it would?), just get in nice and close before you impale them on that knife is the best advice I can give.
-
Hahaha I play Mikey and he's not actually my favourite to face, EW3 spammers are a little overrated plus most of the ones I face are mori addicts and the chase is lacking, I think I actually really like billies (or some LF players when they don't camp and play like gods), they're very intense and fun to play against for me.
-
Pharmacy as survivor, Thanatophobia or discordance as killer (I know thanat isn't great compared to ruin/PGTW but I have a love for this perk for some unknown reason)
-
@ImAGirl said:
Agreed. The problem is is that the sounds overlap each other and are distracting when they are supposed to be helping us; for example, hearing survivor running footsteps during chase -- instead you have blaring chase music. It's so stupid!
This is exactly why I wonder why killers even need chase music or if we should have an option to turn it off/down and up SFX. I don't think I've ever heard survivor footsteps unless I'm playing as a survivor 😂 Turning up SFX wouldn't help much though given as stated here they overlap, plus notification explosions, like being focused in a chase and having the combo of explosions constantly from discordance and blaring chase music...sometimes I want to finish the chase, I know it's a thing to let me know I need to defend gens but why 50+ explosions from discordance...
-
@Incirion I'm a little ashamed I've had the dlc since release but haven't played her yet... I'm just going through all killers and learning each as I go and seeing what each play style is like. Eventually want to be able to switch seamlessly between all depending on which I want to play. My usual rotation is mikey, freddy, legion, wraith and hag plus the occasional pig. Definitely not a fan of plague so far... but spirit definitely looks promising. I'm usually an audio/visual killer so it's going to be weird to only rely on sound for once.
-
Wow this thread is a mess. Legion was already average as a killer and when they first suggested changes I was thinking I might be able to live with those but if these changes go live then it makes matches as this killer pointless, nothing useful or unique about the ability anymore (if you even bother using it anymore). I did play legion casually as a "for fun" killer and hated those cheese legions as much as anyone however all these changes are ridiculous put together. It's also disgusting to see everyone assuming all legion players were moonwalking exploiters, it was difficult to win 110% chases/mindgames and split a frenzy to all 4 survs to delay them and the bp was great but if the killer is not longer fun to play, viable on any level and has a useless ability then it's not that strange to want some return on that time invested. I'm not saying I want a refund, I'm just saying it's not surprising some legion mains do and just hoping not all of this makes it live for once because it's a nerfpocalypse...
-
@MystiKasT Thanks for making this thread, I was considering learning spirit as my next killer (only have nurse, billy and spirit left to learn) nice to see a recent thread on spirit tips/builds
-
That's not that bad, I'm glad they added locker blindness bc one time I tried to message a friend which took 1 minute and hid in a locker and a meg led the killer to my locker and pointed at it and the killer hooked me... I get the bad teammates thing though, even though I generally play SWF with one friend we can STILL get screwed over by teammates sometimes...
-
Pharmacy, alert, lithe, plunderers or spine chill/adrenaline/poised/iron will, first three is my usual enjoyed build but depends who I'm playing and what perks they have for my 4th, I like it, forces me to adapt to what I have. I am loving the new lithe though, only recently tried it.
-
I used to have pig in my rotation, not so sure now, the only thing that really bothers me is the TR thing, why do they keep slapping that on killers, it's annoying, the chase timer pause made sense, oh and the helmets not activating post 5th gen, that's crazy that you can just walk out the gates with a RBT on your head as a souvenir...

You shouldn't need to surrender a perk spot just to make your Killers power managable. Imagine if as Myers when someone broke LoS mid stalk it stunned you.
@My_Dude Honestly thanks for this, I know you were trying to be serious but I just imagine a surv ducking behind a wall and Myers making the ugghh stun noise in an offended way.😂
-
Honestly disappointing, here I was expecting a cool new animation or at least pulling the switch but just more hitting things with a knife I guess, sad... would have been great to just rip out the circuitry and it opens or something a little more creative for such a strange thing for a killer to do
-
@TreemanXD I haven't played ash yet and now it's like hmmm most killers already had it out for Ash bc of MoM... do I want to be mori'd or dodged? Is it really that bad?
-
I would say having completed this trophy a few months ago, I had no problems at the time with obsession getting mori'd (with old DS however). Not sure if it's due to new updates breaking things, however, usually you go for the kill animation when the button prompt appears (should say kill instead of hit etc), lunges don't work, you must only attempt when the prompt appears similar to a hatch grab timing/tap the button only. Just basically walk until you're on top of them and tap and you should be able to pull them out of mid run. Hopefully others who have succeeded with this trophy in the current update may be able to say if it's a bug.

@Bongbingbing said:
They need to completely reevaluate how they produce sound in my opinion.
The sound occlusion is nice in an open area but when you introduce walls, rocks, trees and any other object how they've set it up so it makes sound get muffled almost completely by them. In reality sound bounces of objects but for DBD you can't even hear an almost completed generator which is very loud just because it's behind a wall.
The Chase I don't know why they haven't adjusted the volume of it, Seems like such an easy fix. But like others have said, their priorities are evidently elsewhere since these issues have been going on for a good few months.
@Bongbingbing This is accurate, I used to just walk near a nearly done gen and now I can barely hear it unless I'm next to it especially now on the game map, gone are the days of pressing my face against walls, now I have to use surveillance or just walk in and start the party. I'm sick of all noises being muffled unless you're directly next to it with no obstructions.
-
@Orion So I was trying to help her get points and wanted to get at least something bc I put up a good offering wow sorry I minimally did something, bc standing there and waiting for the killer to find me is so worth not just DCing, sorry for trying to be nice to a killer. I literally just helped her get points then gave up on first hook bc she downed my friend as well, if we wanted to drag it out we would have hid and done gens? Such a snarky reply for no reason, I guess I should have expected that from you over it...
-
@Orion That's actually funny, I had a hag 100% tryharding on the weekend as 2 people DC'd instantly and I was left with my friend and I was running to pallets and throwing them down for her and pointing at them for her to break and she continued to chase and try to kill me. It was beautiful, I wasn't even angry she killed us both, we were just laughing because she was trying so hard and had ruin and we weren't even trying to escape at that point because we just wanted the match to end. These matches need to stop though, no point, you can't DC, you can't get points, you depip anyway.
-
Yes, I'm glad I'm not the only one, the confusion may be there but I really just want to see what the killer's animation is 😂
-
@ShrekIsHot While I do agree that SWF can be a chance to better yourself as an experienced killer, it's not fun for anyone to get stomped by a SWF hit squad while learning a killer or playing casually. It can be very stressful at a low hour/experience bracket and it can be really demotivating to suffer such a horrible loss for some people who play killer for fun. I personally just move to the next match, not my fault if they depip or make stupid mistakes and all get sacrificed because of it, it can vary between no kills and 2-4 kills, they're unpredictable because not all SWF are the same. But in general they are not very fun matches especially as say a trapper (last killer I played against a SWF to my knowledge and I only played for daily) where there's no point placing traps bc blendettes just snap them for fun... at least not until I get to your level of needing a new challenge.
