I REALLY like this idea, but the problem would be that if you get a killer that messages you and wants to farm, you could potentially farm 1 mil BP with the same person without playing a real game.

It's a victim-less crime, so to say, but it would still probably be heavily abused.

Not to mention it would be able to play the pip system and boost people.

This idea was cool until I got hit with this reality bomb, thanks @Carpemortum πŸ˜‚

  • I too love bioshock but big daddies are way too chill, they usually only fight you if you get near their little sister or you attack first, right?

  • So, a killer is chasing you and only you, after a few minutes, you get fed up with it, and want to DC, but alas! The fidget spinner is here!

This is beautiful, would be screwed if I had to solve the rubik's cube one though doesn't even have to be unsolvable...haven't touched one of those in many moons. As long as opening gates requires solving a tile slide puzzle πŸ˜‚ In all seriousness nice suggestions from @Nickenzie though, some kind of temporary boost to unhooked survs would be nice esp if the killer is instantly back on them.

  • No the buffs and alert factor of spine chill are much better, botany is more situational but if you're going for a healer role sure, otherwise just use better medkits or plunderers/pharmacy etc. Botany isn't really good enough to waste a perk slot unless you are running self care. As above autodidact is definitely interesting as an alternative.

I like to use insidious with Myers. First you fill your Evil untill you are about to get to tier III. Down a survivor with two normal hits, hook it, hide and wait for the rescuers. When they come, get to tier III and beggin the bloodbath. I once got to down the other 3 like that. Silly survivors.

@RoKrueger I used to think you were the killer personification of evil on this forum but this is actually partly beautiful as an idea, wouldn't consider using it for camping as I don't camp and never thought insidious was useful as a result but imagine this on an unsafe/walled/low visibility gen (with discordance of course), amazing. Would be difficult to pull off and require immense stealth but sounds like a fun challenge.

  • Hooks respawn so fast it's crazy hence I don't personally bother unless I have a ritual, most killers just drop who they're carrying and go on a revenge spree on those last second 99% hook sabo squads anyway. I have literally had this happen to me once, more likely you'll get baited or body blocked on the way to the hook than getting a hook sabo in your face now.

  • Yes definitely, I need a nurse training grounds for console, also to get used to certain difficulties with killers (e.g. chainsawing around corners/objects with billy/LF) KYF is only used rarely as I only have one friend who plays dbd a lot and we can't test any multi person perks this way. It would be nice to have AI survs and difficulty settings but again this may be difficult to do with dbd.

  • Hmm I'm a bit of an outsider here. I use M&A, discordance, devour hope and thanatophobia/overcharge (my old build was discordance, thanat, overcharge and DH, recently got M&A, still undecided on it tbh). I know it's probably considered a trash build but I get pretty decent results, thinking maybe changing out thanat space for PGTW when I level up clown?

I use M&A for close range sneaking/surprise attacks, discordance for early game stalking/finding groups. Devour hope for that sweet sweet surprise exposed and thanat/overcharge/PGTW for general stalling. I tend to use the classic J myers memorial and dead rabbit in most matches but sometimes dead rabbit + vanity mirror for a fun scares based match.

  • @Chaotic_Riddle said:

I think rituals would be a lot better if they targeted Survivors and Killers you love to play the most, rather than playing someone you haven't touched. Survivor's are just re-skins and playing a Survivor you haven't leveled up at all with the current grind is a pain and trying out new Killers who haven't recently been released with the current state of the game is practically signing yourself up for defeat if you don't have them leveled up or a basic understanding of how to play them. Having rituals just stay attuned to who you love to play could easily rid ourselves the grind, but I guess that is just my opinion. I do like your idea though, but I just wish they could stay true to what and who you love the most in the game.

I feel like this somewhat happens when I neglect playing killer for a while, it's like hey how about we give you 2 sacrifice as shape and level up EW πŸ˜‚ Game trying to make me play more killer matches... definitely would be nice if this was consistently a thing though. Freddy rituals feel a little neglected lately, keep getting heaps of billy/wraith/nurse/huntress and I play only one of those...I literally never get pig ones either. Would also be nice to get a random draw based on if you want a killer or survivor ritual, I'm not really a fan of most of the surv rituals to be honest, like escape with an item, sabo hooks...

  • I love the look of this too, makes all the actions in current matches look like they're in super speed though, also glad the match loading has a progress bar now. I think infinite loading screen has given me anxiety watching that load into this πŸ˜‚

The two blade add ons literally compliment each other and the average player could never ever know unless they happen to come by these forums that not everyone browses. Even considering a ban for using these two add ons is actually ridiculous.

It's basically the devs saying "If you use these two in-game items that we ourselves have presented to you, you'll be banned."

This is pretty accurate would be nice to be included in the INGAME news section, I've said before in other threads when I first played legion I wanted the mend timer to mean something and thought by playing both blades it might increase chances of survs not mending in time and collapsing as I was still coming to terms with the killer's addons. If there's not even a warning system in game then how will they know?

No that's called exploiting the same as survivors getting on top of rocks etc to avoid getting downed. If it was something they intentionally put in the game to be used they'd have said hey this is ok now like looping.

You know kinda like how they've said survivors climbing onto rocks is an exploit and thus bannable if caught.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/058/Z88WEGTDJ75T.png

Kinda like how this is an exploit of terrain, which I'd been screwing around during this match to see how someone got up here in a different game. I already forwarded this to the devs attention months ago and I'm pretty sure it's been patched.

You could get to the very front of this and if you had Insidious camp it like a champ because no one would look up to see if killer is camping there.

@powerbats I've managed to climb the rock ones to get survivors up there as wraith/shape (lovely getting those teabags directly in your face as you try until you figure it out) but that is next level, did you seriously get on top of a hook?

  • A Claudette trying to flashlight blind me mid frenzy. πŸ˜‚ No salt so far though.

  • Laurie, p3 too (only missing ash perks now bc took a break prior to the paragraph release) everyone else is a mixed bag. I'm one of those terrible people who decided to play whichever surv I want and not actually just focus on "maining" one to get all perks. Every other surv is a mess of prestiges and perks but it makes them more than just skins I suppose if I want to try different perk layouts.

  • I'll just go with a recent one, had a meg who was looping me while I was trying to do a huntress ritual (I'm terrible as huntress but wanted to try the daily), she got stuck in a tree mid chase and I hit her down then picked her up and let her escape my shoulder and walked away ignoring her completely as she would have escaped that chase fairly if she didn't get stuck. I still got her fairly later on but I got a lovely message from her after the match too, nice when people send appreciation messages or genuinely kind things, makes me glad I still have messages turned on.

@Peasant - I cannot change your mind. However, I encourange everyone to use a Lery's map offering for a fun Spies from the Shadows game! There are crows all over that map and is probably the reason why they nerfed the perk. Crows go off constantly.

Anybody who hasn't tried this combination, please try it. Survivors will think you're a hacker.

Disclaimer: I haven't tried this post nerf.

@JawsIsTheNextKiller I tried this pre nerf as a billy and it was insane, there was literally a notification every second. Post nerf however ruined this perk and not many were using it in the first place, I still don't get why it was nerfed...

  • I think there are very few things that could be done to this perk that would make me use it, especially when compared to any others there are stronger more useful perks, especially since it actively encourages you to lose the obsession on purpose. I swear I haven't reverted to the "myers special" since I started playing the shape (adept was a nightmare too)... In response to the suggestion though, that would make it slightly better but I would still never consider it. At base with this perk the increased stat buff is nice but not with so many limitations, especially with a token based system.

They used to be so much worse.

They're almost useless now without someone following trying to save. Look towards a wall when you pick them up. If you see a flashlight drop immediately. If its STILL a problem, run lightborn.

    /thread

This is very accurate, I used to hate the 2s insta stun, white light of death kind of flashlights, pallet ones aren't that bad, old DS + flashlight combo by another surv was more trash than anything now. I haven't really had a problem with flashlight blinds since it was changed from insta white blind. I've also been blinded twice while EW3 and actually managed to get hits still with judging layouts/sounds prior to the blind. Flashlights are nowhere near as powerful as they used to be.

  • @brokedownpalace said:

Yeah I don't think it really needs a timer at all tbh. Would be hilarious to have a token system because you'd knock a 75% gen down to 50% or whatever it is and then a survivor comes over to tap it mid chase so you hit it again.

This would be amazing, the ultimate gen tap regression penalty.

With the new 2.6.0. emblem system they try to force that sort of gameplay (including a kill or 2 maybe) if the game doesn't last long enough due to the killer just plowing everyone 6ft. under or the survivors just gen rush and escape you won't pip anymore. There has to be interaction of a certain degree to force that now. But they didn't include the fact that by just nerfing pips they would also force people to just grind BP and that is still the same...

Rank 15 Killer and Survivor have been a clusterfuck of people not willing to rank up, now it's an even bigger one because some people just don't pip anymore becasue it's not really worth it!

@TRGraybles I'm really waiting to see the rank reset too to be honest for these reasons...

The developers would like to express that survivor problems are much more important than killer problems. You can't hear footsteps because ######### you, you're hearing "fake" breathing because ######### you, and if you're getting gen rushed you need to GIT GUD. Now log into Dead By Daylight and get bullied like a good little killer.

    Sincerely, the DBD Team

    P.S. ######### you

This... is beautiful, thank you πŸ˜‚

Doc is my main...he is NOT weak by any means.

    So far I have:

    1 - Meyers

    1 - Freddy

I'm a little offended here πŸ˜‚, I'd say leatherface and don't camp, see how that goes. Plague and clown are a little lacking too. Freddy and Mikey are fine.

  • @HavelmomDaS1 Thanks for the scenario, that is 100% how I pictured an endgame going down esp w/ adrenaline, running either/or is pretty bad but both seems pretty bad. Wow farm map offering too, that just sounds like pain. I know some sneaky normal attacks in EW2 tend to do a lot better than EW3 spam (I hate the TR of EW3 anyway even with M&A), I tend to use EW3 sparingly/to end a chase fast/to catch a group or surv by surprise however I figured maybe he'd have a better chance at countering it than most other killers I play over the duration of a match. I shudder to think of MoM/adrenaline on a genrush squad as a Freddy. I should return at some point, might just wait it out until the mid chapter update though as that should be soon. I was getting tryhard squads before I left on break, not really sure it's region specific anymore...

  • It's funny how one killer is two different things entirely, I play on console so anyone who can play her is considered a god. I think that toxicity is common though, towards anyone learning a killer, it's fine to use whatever build you want, especially ruin if you're still learning and need a stall. Just wait until you are god tier by sticking through this practice though, they're probably still going to cry...

  • Yeah I was initially hating that first round of matchmaking because I was getting only japan matches with super high ping but after they did the pooled one it was actually pretty good for me with fast match times and decent ping but then they reverted that within days, if they fixed the matchmaking/ranks with that I think the pooled system was much better. It probably differs with rank and region though, I guess they're reverting until they can find a solution that fits the many, I don't really mind too much, 5-10 minutes is still better than the 30 mins I had prior to the plague/MM updates...

  • Yes, this just reminds me why I'm taking a break, I had one moment at a gen in the cornfields behind the killer shack where survivors kept tapping it to stop regression and between the messy textures and other visual issues I could literally not discern where they were even though I knew at least 2-3 were there from the scratch marks. It's crazy right now, just wondering if I need to do as @PhantomMask20763 stated and up my brightness but it's already pretty high, it wasn't this bad/dark/blurry pre-fps update though. I used to have minimal problems tracking in the cornfields now it's just sad and I can't hear anything over the chase music anyway...I don't notice it too much on Macmillan but it's pretty bad all round right now.

  • This kind of helps? I hope this was what you were looking for https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/9152/dbd-slang-lingo-guide-wip

Dont waste your shards, legion is unplayable because %90 of survivors dc instantly against legion

I guess this is a PC problem though, I play ps4 and I've never had a DC against my legion or received salty messages as a result of playing legion? In response to OP though definitely, if you can wait to get shards probably better just in case you don't personally like the playstyle, but discordance is definitely worth it.

  • @HavelmomDaS1 I kinda left on a dbd break prior to MoM hitting (bc simply put I wasn't enjoying the game and felt like I needed some time) and have seen a lot of arguments about it, just wanted to ask what is the match generally like for a myers player. I typically main him and don't really see the incentive to return if it's as horrible as most say, I do play wraith, pig, hag, legion and freddy as well but seems they're just as likely to suffer from this? Seems pretty broken if only 2 killers can counter it reliably...Is LF part of that lineup if you can chainsaw effectively?

  • Nope, as with others above I find it much faster to have pharmacy and/or plunderers and just loot green kits to my hearts content, most kits last the match anyway (at least 2 heals). I painfully watch other survs self caring in the corner with sloppy while I'm on the hook... let's just say selfcare is kinda overrated...esp with sloppy or nurses...

  • Perfectly balanced... as all things should be.

This would be amazing though, if only new game modes were a thing. πŸ˜‚

  • @PiiFree said:

Does the other Survivor deserve the hatch more than you deserve the 4k?

If they deserve the hatch, don't slug.

If they don't deserve the hatch, slug.

Pretty much this, I usually hate and avoid slugging at all costs as I know how much it sucks on the receiving end HOWEVER if I just spent 15 minutes walking to untouched gens and investigating the map thoroughly/opening lockers/checking corners etc and have found two survs playing standoff or follow the leader to hide near the hatch then DESTROY THEM. But if you're down to last gen or gates are up etc then don't bother unless your life depends on that 4k like I've seen around here sometimes... (or if you're attempting adept and 2 gens have gone up in 2 seconds...)

  • I got 360 - The growing evil, pretty accurate to be honest... I've only got approx. 70-100h as killer (mostly play as a break from survivor) but have at least above 500+ sacrifices (got the trophy quite a while ago) That 7 gen thing is kinda selective though depending on your killer...It's funny reading these forums sometimes, so much more to learn.

  • I think I've DC'd very few times over two years (probably only 2-4 times total and some of those were my game just freaking out) I don't get the get hit down once then DC or DC bc your SWF friend is hooked too or DC bc you don't like the killer etc why bother playing if you're just going to DC after a mild insult. I had one not long ago when I was going for the evil incarnate trophy, a meg would just heal in front of me and continue doing a gen then when I went to mori her she DC'd, she had old DS too. Luckily it still counted bc I was mid animation. I'll never understand her... I also frequently laugh at a time when we just started a match, in a LITERAL SECOND a surv stepped in a bear trap and DC'd that was too much πŸ˜‚

I think the only rage DC I ever did was a killer that would just not stop gen patrolling intensely as a hillbilly and slugging me then the other last person healed me then it would happen again, it went on for 15 minutes, I would rather bleed out/be hooked and camped etc. and deal with it but that was just annoying to no end and I had real life to attend to what a shocker that I wanted to leave... Otherwise after playing dbd enough you just accept camping/tunneling/genrush SWF squadette etc is going to happen and have fun while you can, much healthier if you can just move on. Amazing title though πŸ˜‚

  • I swear this happens to me without knowing it, I've been targeted repeatedly by people with the same name and I don't even remember what I did to piss them off? People seriously have some issues, probably salty people from when I first played Mikey as a baby killer and thought tombstone pieces were the best. Who knows. I have repented for those sins, no longer do I use those addons anyway πŸ˜‚ Vanity mirror or dead rabbit/J myers memorial are where it's at. Just weird that people seem to hold grudges forever and I don't even remember them at all... I don't even remember ever being this angry at a killer/survivor for wiping the floor with me??? How can these people remember for MONTHS

  • The way this thread reads mentally makes me physically ill, this should not be possible...There's a certain "voice" and everything...

  • Yes I've always hated having to reset traps by picking them up, would also be nice to pick up an already set trap and move it without it having to be triggered first. These are all great, massive timesavers for a killer that needs to sacrifice the first few mins of a match just to set up made worse by terribly spaced trap spawns.

Why get characters from RE7 when literally RE1, 2 , 3, and 4 have better choices.

    Big think

Def agree with above though, there are better potential killers in RE series in general, personally regenerators/Rasklapanje always freak me out or any of the instagrab you're dead monsters. I don't really think in retrospect though that any are particularly suited to dbd playstyle as stated above by @katoptris

  • I only just started Monster Hunter World after a long time otherwise been playing the old DMC series since I played DMC5 not long ago and finally wrapping up Resident Evil 2. I feel the same need for new games... Waiting for that sweet sweet borderlands 3 now and will probably try Sekiro at some point. Shame DBD is in such an un-enjoyable state right now.

  • @Dustin That is very true but we do already have a few "trap type" killers would be harder to make him unique, but what you suggested would be amazing, booby trapped chests and tripwires would be great, imagine booby trapped gens though that shock you if you try to activate them in a window of time post trap setting.

  • I was going to say as killer this would not really effect me often at all but I see all above have addressed that. Hearing Freddy saying "welcome to my world, b**ch" though, I have an immense need for that πŸ˜‚ Great idea.

  • As long as the killer isn't Jack I'm all good. That was traumatic and eventually annoying enough the first time... Marguerite would be kinda cool though, crawling down walls and using stinger swarms, if you can ignore how she spawns bugs that is...

  • I literally had this happen to me not long ago, I just ended up struggling on the hook it was unplayable, couldn't see where I was running at all. I was playing as Jane and let's just say her booty ascended to the next level bc I couldn't see anything else on my screen, also in spectating another player a meg became a blue/orange giant mess in the sky even though she was on the other side of the map being chased...

  • As much as my survivor side says yes this would be amazing, considering the survivors must generally make a mistake to be slugged (esp in all 4 at the start of the match cases) it would be unfair to the killer especially if they just go to chase away someone trying to do a potential save and then the other person gets up. Plus unbreakable already exists as a perk, considering I don't run it and experience such 4k slugging once in 20+ games I don't think it's that big of an issue. It sucks when it happens but we do have ways to get around it. Plus you can crawl away and hide/recover, I've had a few matches where I and other survs have managed to get around this issue just by playing carefully and still manage escapes, the killer takes a risk in losing you both with slugging, or the last person getting the hatch anyway if the killer is not prepared.

  • Yeah he is pretty fun as mentioned above for the bp, also shocking everyone until they're all crazy with different effects you can see and swapping modes when you like.

  • I personally use discordance, M&A, thanatophobia and cycle the last perk through various ones so optional I guess. Pretty amazing results with M&A though especially against those who don't heal. I find hexes are generally broken fast even with ToTH so you run the risk of losing two perks by end game, what do you intend to use blindness for? Bond/teamwork? Slugging?

  • I think it does actually feel like gens are getting done faster on both sides post update, not sure if this was intended or a byproduct of adaptation to the new rank system. Too bad I guess if survs want to gen rush and get out so be it, fast match, they don't pip anyway, next match I guess. PGTW is good though. As a survivor I barely notice it until 3 gens go off in quick succession, just seems like speed was increased. Seems strange either way.

  • @DarkWo1f997 said:

He’s the hardest killer to play in the game if you don’t abuse his power. Even then abusing it is disadvantageous anyways.

    @GrootDude said:

@DarkWo1f997 Freddy is harder and I’d argue literally any other killer is harder to play.

I have played both but I don't think one is better than the other to be honest, legion suffers from their movement base speed if you don't cheese or multi stab and severely lacks map pressure where as freddy can crowd control pretty well in comparison plus with certain loadouts makes survs basically destroy their progress on gens to wake up. I think I consistently get better games (3-4k) as a Freddy even at rank 5 than I do as a legion if people do gens and play smart.
