We need to press a restart button

Just bring the game back to when it was first released. Remove all buffs, nerfs, perks, items, addons, etc. It will be only the Killer, the Survivors, and the gens. And the only thing that will earn you ANYTHING is by being good at the game.

So just start all over. People will have a harder time complaining if there is next to nothing to complain about.

  • Actually, 1.0.0 had alot of issues, from basement hooks being best hooks to the "ahem" original hillbilly flick

  • @Hoodedfengm1n obviously fix all that stuff. I'm just talking about core mechanics between the Killer and Survivors.

  • @TheBig_BadPig Oh, did not you meant that, yeah I would not mind

You would also have things like 60 second generators, vault/pallet vacuums and permanently sabotaged hooks. The game has come a long way since then. If you need to fix and balance a bunch of things first, you're not really playing on 1.0.0 anymore.

  • @Peanits I'm talking about making it to where the only thing that will warrant a win is how good you play. All those patches for the vacuums and hooks were great and are perfectly fine, I'm saying to just bring everyone down to the same level, remove all the perks, items, addons, etc, so people can't complain about people being too "OP" with an item. Powers will stay, but put them in a good spot that people like. No items, no crutches, just you vs the other team.

  • A Perkless mode, then.

  • @Coriander No, just perkless in general.

  • This content has been removed.
  • A game like this always needs to be balanced and tweaked so things work the way they should. You can't have an enduring online multiplayer experience without adjustments or changes.

    This.

  • I agree, but the game would get super boring.

Im confused. How was it back then different than today? U think back then was more skilled required? Don't think so, there were much more bs going on than today

  • People never realise what makes DbD better than any survival horror. Its not the chases, not the M1 simulator, its everything. Its the variety in the gameplay. What prevents people from getting bored of the game is having several options on how games vary with each match. We have several Killers, several perks and several add-ons. All of this contributes. That is this game's biggest and strongest pro.

What you are suggesting, if I understood correctly, is basically removing all replay-ability from the game. No incentive to create a creative build, one that works for you or is just a meme. No incentive for you to get those sweet perks which you want to try out.

It is certainly difficult to balance, but, its worth it. Sometimes a perk or add-on can be unbalanced (and there are), but that is why updates happen. Its up to the developers to listen to their community and change the game accordingly.

  • @PigNRun I merely came up with a solution to all the complaining that has been happening for changes that haven’t even been tested yet.

There can still be replay-ability since the devs won’t have to worry about buffing and nerfing new perks to fit with every character, the devs would be able to focus on other things. More fun and interesting killers, more elaborate maps, and maybe some random game modifiers that change things in the match. There is SO MUCH potential for this game and it’s wasted on things that people won’t stop complaining about, perks, items, etc.

The devs have only started listening more to the community recently, but that isn’t gonna stop the whiners from driving this great game into the ground.

  • I misread this and took it as "a press to restart button" in game for when it breaks, infinite loading etc without closing the game and going through the lengthy boot sequence 😅 but I'll just say nope, a lot of changes were for the better, it's normal to have good and bad changes over the course of such a game.
