  • With how busted the game gets every patch, even this challenge doesn’t seem too outlandish.

  • Now that the Oni is out and injured survivors drop more blood orbs, what are you going to do about No Mither?

  • @Dr_Loomis said:

    No Mither.

First of all, turn off the loud injury music.

    Improvements.

    -Minimal grunting and noise.

    -Survival Bloodpoints bonus.

No Mither should pretty much have a built-in Iron Will. If you ‘can’t be mithered’ about having a friggin hole in your chest, why are you bitching and moaning about it?

Also it should not apply Thanatophonia stacks. If I had to make a quick fire idea, Broken status effect should ignore Thanatophobia, but that would buff all Survivor Broken perks and nerf all Killer Broken abilities.

That's what I'm saying. The pig was only in a small amount of scenes for a few seconds for the first half of the franchise. But later when Hoffman is the main killer the Pig is used way more.

Technically so was the Demogorgon as it only appears twice or so in the whole series of Stranger Things.

That being said, Killers don’t have to be popular or prevalent throughout a series to be chosen. You still recognise the Pig as a character from Saw even without context because of the RBT.

DC penalties aren't live. (The devs said yesterday they would not start on the 5th.) However, it's probably going to happen soon.

Well #########. Might as well delete my damn post at this point.

  • Alright so, now that it’s ‘tomorrow’ - and I’ve made sure it’s a few hours after noon in my time to be certain it’s the 5th mostly everywhere else - how are the DC matchmaking penalties going?

  • Ah, I see.

Well then, I’ll remind myself to re-bump this topic tomorrow.

No, but the perk can't be called Balanced Landing if it doesn't balance your landing.

Ghosts don’t rise up from the earth when Haunted Grounds goes off so what’s your point?

  • @KillermainBTWm8 said:

Do you think Haddonfield will still be the worst map or will another map take that place?

Even without BL the Myers house and all of the other structures with roofs that can only be accessed by a window, will remain broken. This can be easily fixed by turning said window into a doorway instead. The map doesn’t need a huge rework as far as I’m concerned, just one or two buildings need to be changed.

As for ‘worst map’ for Killers, I can’t really say.

  • @Eleghost said:

they're going to leave behind a "husk" that you may hook so i'm going to assume once that is released they will be counted as sacrifices.

Which will be an absolute dumbass move, knowing how BHVR recently seem to be enjoying nerfing Killers due to ‘overperforming’ caused by mass disconnecting.

I hope to god they reconsider how and what disconnections are counted as, for the good of the game’s future.

  • If you make a discussion post on the forums, expect to get handed facts and discussions about the topic. I’m not biased - I don’t even play the game anymore. But I still know what dumb ######### exists in it and whether or why it should get removed.

This should have been removed ages ago. It reduces toxicity (players smacking hooked victims), teaches new players that it doesn’t work (a lot of newbies repeatedly attack a hooked victim without realising that its doing nothing), and forces Survivors to be less brain-dead (baiting hook hits for free rescues) and to be tactical about it.

If you can’t accept the truth and prefer to call it bias, I highly recommend you just stop using the forums entirely. We’re living, breathing, and thinking human beings who do play or have played the game and have our own opinions and knowledge on the topics - we aren’t your echo chamber.

  • It was removed because people were sick of being made to hit the invincible person and forced into a cooldown, which guaranteed that two survivors escape if the rescuer has borrowed time and is healthy.

No, you’re not getting it back. It was worse than the pallet vacuum. If the Killer is near a hooked survivor, don’t be a dumbass and bumrush it expecting to get the rescue handed to you.

They haven't given us an updated time rrame for 60fps and summer ended a while ago.

    ’Summer ended awhile ago’

    Nearly Summer in Australia though.

  • Massively overhaul the Rift and Archive challenges so they are finishable by casual players, so the challenges aren’t stupid crazy impossible, and reduce monetisation in it.

  • I understand the devs are busy of course but can we please get an official response? I think we would prefer to know a potential ‘make or break’ detail far in advance of the next event.

  • My point of view on it? Nothing besides the Rift gives progress toward the event or its cosmetics. Hooks and gens only give bonus points, so there’s no reason for the former to be unbreakable since you can’t ‘impede Killers progress on completing the event’.

TL;DR, We got BHVR’d again lmao

  • Bought it on a free weekend sale on Steam some time last year.

Also got it on PS4 for free with Plus.

I don’t really play the game anymore. Living conditions have changed, new rules, mental state... only allowed on games for daily stuff - which consists of Warframe daily login, which I also don’t play anymore, and some orders in For Honor which I play the most - and after 7pm until 10pm.

My PC takes ages to start up and there’s no point losing an hour just to start it, and losing time because of the ‘rank update error’ bug that was plaguing me every time I finished a match. Game even crashed on rank reset because the error came up **before I loaded in** which was just a total time waste and I ended up going back to For Honor.

In short, though I own the game properly on one platform and on subscription on another, I don’t play it anymore due to time constraints and lack of reason to do so.

Yes, but no, now spine chill is reliable counter to him

    @TWiXT said:

Shape used to be immune to Spine Chill at EW1 as part of his base kit, practically making him the only truly undetectable killer. Now, since he has the Undetectable status, sure he doesn't have a TR at EW1 anymore, but instead, Spine Chill can detect him. Basically he lost an important advantage, and became conformed to the new standard for stealth killers. I see a decreased usage of OoO in the future, but a major increase in Spine Chill.

Good point, I forgot about that. But wouldn’t you say an extra perk you can choose is better than having a perk viable against you?

  • As Survivor, I ended up in the same lobby as the streamer I was watching at the time, who was playing Killer.

The entire team got whipped except for me, who escaped through the hatch.

Immediately as the game ended I said ‘gg [streamer name]’ and somebody else said that they reported me for working with the Killer, and the streamer as well.

There was absolutely no evidence that I was working with the streamer, or even stream sniping - I told her in her stream chat ‘I’m in your lobby, gonna pause the stream so I don’t snipe, good luck’. I may have led her to another Survivor by accident, but that’s just what happens when you don’t have Bond or know where the others are lmao.

I actually made a post about it voicing my concern and was told that I wouldn’t be banned since there’s no evidence on it. I think the forum-goers on my post actually said they checked out her stream playback to make sure if it, but I’m not entirely sure. With there being no evidence of wrongdoing I was completely fine.

That was mid-late last year some time. You can probably go back through my post history a bit to find the very post.

  • Thought Insidious would turn me invisible, so I equipped it on Huntress and stood on a hill and tried to snipe everyone.

Never saw anybody and I think it’s because they were all staring at me thinking ‘######### is that guy doing’

  • There is a cooldown; it’s called 3 hatchets and reload at lockers.

  • Grind out T3 PWYF. You’ll need the speed boost.

When you’ve activated your T3, only ever use Kill and not standard M1 as it won’t use PWYF tokens.

Don’t neglect pressuring the Survivors throughout the game itself or it’ll end way too fast.

If a Survivor locker dives to deny it, you might as well give up, kill them, and get to the next game ASAP to try again.

    That’s all I can suggest.

  • Adam only needs the brown coat to become Man Claudette. That’s the only thing I ever will wear on my boy.

So people need to learn to get better instead of crying? Like killer mains like you cried about instaheals instead of getting better? Hmm....

Issue with instant heals is that they reverse absolutely any and all progress a Killer has made. Killers are pressured on time and in the higher skill zone of games, two gens can pop by the time the average Survivor is downed, especially if a syringe medkit is chasing the ongoing pursuit.

Killers have absolutely nothing to reverse or reset the game like a syringe medkit does. Unless the Killer can instantly down (Hillbilly and Leatherface, or Clown/Huntress with add-on), there is hardly anything they can do to recover from it. It’s the ‘heal’ equivalent of old BNP.

  • I think this ‘buff’ could become its own perk in future.

  • @Maggy_Fyers said:

Gee wow can't wait to read the other 2800 posts of incredible salty killermain wisdom you've been spreading here.

Nerfing insta's without nerfing mori's is braindead.

    Moris are sort of at the point where changing them can either break them or kill them entirely;

    • Original - Mori on down. Completely broken, used to be able to instantly kill anyone you downed.
    • Current - Mori after hook. Somewhat useful, should be that way only for Ivory Mori, only for one Survivor.
    • ’Nerfed’ - Mori after two hook. Totally obsolete, might as well hook a Survivor in the time it takes to Mori them, for more points and less wasted time.

Ebony Memento Mori could do with a limitation wherein the Killer can only Kill Survivors if all four of them have been hooked at least once. That way you’ll need to fight for your life like you would not believe to avoid letting your entire team get killed, especially if you are the last not hooked. But this could cause the Killer to give it away by tunnelling, which I suppose is fair. That’s just my idea.

Instaheals on the other hand can instantly cancel the Killer’s progress and start them off at square one just by pressing a single button. Two generators can be finished by the time a Survivor goes down, if one with an instaheal is following them around. So the Killer can end up having two generators gone with nothing to show for it.

Instaheals and Moris aren’t polar opposites in my opinion though.

  • I want to bring this back up because I’m still seeing lots of polls getting moved. I’m just concerned that the forums are suffering from inefficiency in segregating poll posts to a specific sub-forum when the majority sticks to General Discussions.

That convinces me but.. should I forget about buying Michael Myers to get them both?

    What do you recommend?

Myers has extremely versatile perks for any Killer. PWYF for speed, STBFL for relentless attacking, and Dying Light for slowdown. He’s also not too bad of a Killer himself with his ability to instantly down, but he is an M1, so you’ll need to play smarter and/or equip the Spirit Fury-Enduring combo.

But if you are strictly sticking to GF or Legion, I highly recommend the former (first one). Better perks, better Killer, with instant down and damn fine mind gaming capability. Out of all of them, Halloween chapter for Myers and Laurie (Decisive is pretty good for Survivors as well).

@Judgement this is what I'm talking about when I say watch the post this just so happen to be a licensed perk

Remember what I said about how it’s ‘good that DLC/pay-only things aren’t strong’?

This post ‘just so happens’ to be exclaiming how bad Cruel Limits is.

Even so, our discussion should stay in the topic post you made, not be plastered all over the forums.

  • @JustAFeeling said:

@Judgement I can see your point

Also, you don’t want to paywall an obscenely powerful character so only a few people can obliterate everyone and nobody else can unless they shell out. That’s why most licensed Killers are, fortunately, below B-tier, or require considerable skill.

But also character's are nerfed from the PTB before release and receive slight buff's and nerfs before and mid chapter patch to accommodate the balance issue's

This also sound like a personal issue with you not wanted to give BHVR money in general which I can't help you with that.

No, actually making DLC characters not super powerful is a good thing. It’s not that I ‘don’t want to pay BHVR’, but it’s that I don’t want to pay a game company to get a Pay To Win item.

Mortal Kombat for example try to avoid making pay-only characters (Kombat Pack, stand-alones) too strong. They made a mistake with Alien in MKX, making it too powerful and there was an uproar about it I’m pretty sure.

You could say BHVR made that very same mistake by releasing Mettle of Man - free extra health stare, if you shell out. Ash should have been tested on a PTB first, and a whole lot of people bought him ‘just for MoM’. Of course some people still play him because he’s Ash and they love him, but there was a huge uproar because of MoM being a broken overpowered perk, much more so because it was a pay-only perk and thus became Pay To Win until it got nerfed (over nerfed I might add).

That a character is nerfed in a PTB is fine as every new Killer and perk always needs tweaks before they hit live. Everyone is able to play the PTB and the upcoming Killer and use the perks before they reach live, and if they are not licensed, will be able to farm up what they need to buy the character. But if the character is licensed, becomes overpowered, and stays that way, to become top-tier like Nurse, they become Pay To Win.

BHVR are doing a good job so far avoiding P2W as their most powerful characters so far are free and can be earned by playing the game, and they have my respect for that. My only issue will be if another MoM scenario comes around.

I'd genuinely be terrified if I was working on a generator and all of a sudden Tony kick flips over a car to smack me in the head with a skateboard.

Now I want a killer that can leap over objects/through windows but with a short cooldown before it could attack. Though tbh, I doubt they'll give us anything remotely like that after Legion

Like playing that old Tony Hawk game where you could terrorise people by slapping them with your board.

Except Tony Hawk is the player character - you are the victim who gets board slapped.

  • They’ll be far too limited and weak no matter who they are, their supposed power in the movies, whatever. Every licensed Killer gets effectively nerfed when they enter the realm of the entity.

Old Freddy for example. He’s an unstoppable force who will always kill you if he wants you dead, and what did he do? Get pallet slammed, looped, and give Survivors an effective three health states.

It’s almost shameful how weak popular licensed Killers are made, but at the same time completely understandable considering how the game works. Like, it’s not Mortal Kombat (ironic). Also, you don’t want to paywall an obscenely powerful character so only a few people can obliterate everyone and nobody else can unless they shell out. That’s why most licensed Killers are, fortunately, below B-tier, or require considerable skill.

  • Licensed Killers are becoming too numerous and unhealthy for the game. It made sense back when the game released its first three, but now it seems that the devs are releasing multiple licensed chapters in a row - Ash, Ghost Face, then Demogorgon all in sequence, and now Pennywise is planned.

As much as people like and demand licensed Killers, nobody likes having to shell out $10 every single chapter. Stranger Things’ chapter is nearly $20 itself, which is over half the price of the game itself.

Players who only ever can make the one payment to buy the game and only the game, have missed out on three consecutive chapters worth of playable content because they aren’t allowed to play it without paying. We already have six licensed Killers and seven licensed Survivors (if Bill is counted).

Additionally, killers being licensed makes it nearly impossible for one-pay players to get their perks, especially with how the current Shrine works. Leatherface’s BBQ & Chili perk has only shown up twice ever, for example. This issue can be mitigated if they make all perks buyable at the same time with a large amount of Shards for example, instead of being forced to wait up to a year or so to get them.

In short, I don’t want to see anymore licensed Killers in this game, until better acquisition of perks comes along. The devs should consider making Killers ‘inspired by’ other Killers instead of seeking licenses. For example, Spirit is inspired by Grudge, Trapper by Jason, Billy by Bubba, Wraith by Freddy, etc.. They even made a fully original Killer but locked it behind a license because they wanted the mask - even though The Ghost Face has absolutely no relevance whatsoever to the Scream series. The license for GF is the mask, and the mask only, which they should have made a pay-only or licensed cosmetic as a reference.

As much as BHVR need money, especially to host and manage Dedicated Servers, they need to encourage other methods of spending without getting egregious or becoming indie EA.

    Edit: Numbers and autocorrect fixes.

  • Yet the only survivor that could be considered ‘in shape’ would be Meg. Majority rules.

How is my argument invalid, they have allegedly fixed preschool and the new map but still haven't disabled BL for those select maps. It makes no sense whatsoever.

Bloodlust was never created with the ability to disable it ‘for certain maps’ in mind. The devs can’t go ahead and make Bloodlust disabled for ‘this map but not that map’.

With map generation also being RNG based, some infinites or extremely strong loops that require bloodlust can spawn accidentally. I once played a match as Survivor where a TL wall and long pallet wall with window spawned next to the Killer Shack, on the same side as the shack window, for example. The Killer found it impossible to catch me until he got Bloodlust 3.

Map RNG is currently too unpredictable to disable Bloodlust ‘for some maps’ as semi-infinites and total infinites can still accidentally spawn at times. Until absolutely every single map has been fixed, and safer RNG limits and thresholds are added, Bloodlust needs to stay.

  • @aazimuth said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/724501#Comment_724501

It's almost like killers get the same thing called Bloodlust, something that can be activated an unlimited time in a chase and rewards the killer for playing poorly (excluding infinites that no longer exist of course).

Even Killer players agree Bloodlust shouldn’t be a thing. Multiple skilled and long-term players, including Monto and Tru3 I believe, want Bloodlust to be removed.

It’s already been nerfed and is better (by which I mean ‘more fair for both sides’) than it was before. Bloodlust used to make a Killer go like 130% or something, but now it’s much slower, which is a good thing. But it cannot be removed yet. Not until maps are tremendously overhauled.

Therefore your bloodlust argument is invalid

I honestly think they released the version for Switch knowing it wasn’t really ready

That’s basically their MO at this point.

Though BHVR are a very small indie dev team, they should at least try to make up for it by focusing on QA instead of doing nothing every three-month period until the next period and mid-chapter.

They need to skip a chapter’s content to fix as much as possible. People have been begging for an Operation Health for years.

    +1

They need to effect more or last WAY longer than they currently do.

I’ve always had the idea to make Blindness hide the killer’s Red Stain from the affected survivor, but now Undetectable seems to have that covered. So, Blindness is pretty much a dead perk now outside of meme or slug builds.

GhostFace's is actually 12. The only ones that are 14 are Hag, Plague, and Clown(I think that's it). Pig's is the shortest. Iirc it was like 6 or 8 seconds(Edit: Right in the middle, 7 seconds). I was looking at them all to verify what I was saying was true. In case you're wondering, most are around 11 seconds.

Ah, thank you for correcting me.

Nurse mori takes 10-11 seconds, Hag takes around 14. No killer goes over 14 seconds.

Ghostface has a very long Mori, which I can only guess to be nearly 20 seconds.

  • Making Moris require two hooks to kill wastes more time than just hooking the Survivor the last time. At the same time, a Survivor who goes Phase 2 in the one hook might not be able to get Killed unless you mean ‘mori on death hook only’.

Even then, it’s significantly more time efficient to just hook a Survivor when they’re death hook. Half of the Moris in the game are upward of 10 seconds and some even go into the 20s, which is a massive time waster, rather than spending only a few seconds just hooking the Survivor for the last time and leaving immediately.

Moris shouldn’t be second-hook only because that makes them entirely worthless. Maybe the Ebony should require every Survivor be hooked once each before being able to Kill everyone, but not Ivory Memento Moris.

  • Recently the devs standardised lunges across all Killers. Huntress, Hag, Nurse, and Spirit used to have shorter lunges than other Killers because their movement speed was lower, if I remember correctly.

Now every Killer - except Tier 1 Shape - have the same lunge, without add-on or perk modifiers.

Why are we in all bold?

Likely they pre-typed their post and pasted it. I’ve noticed that when copying from another app and pasting in the forums, specifically on mobile, the text comes out as all bold when the post is finished and made.

Knowing how the forums generally refresh when the app is reopened (at least for my phone) I myself type in Notes and copy then paste, as the mobile ‘create post’ doesn’t draft or save.

  • As far as I know they don’t have servers up for every region yet. Australia-Oceania has no servers I believe, and some other places.

There’s also the Huntress and Plague issues - laggy projectiles and multiple hit registrations that in Huntress’ case can oneshot a survivor without Iridescent Heads.
