Wdym their anonymous mode? Do you not have an anonymous mode feature in your game?
When DBD rolled out Anonymous Mode for the consoles it was on Xbox for like two weeks and then they removed it. Apparently the way it was implemented violated several Microsoft guidelines, and they said it won't be back. So no Anonymous Mode for us.

@XtremeDBD said:
Anonymous exists for a reason dude, it even denys anyone to even look at your profile if you share the same platform, which imo shouldn't exist. You knew what you were signing up for as a streamer, you can promote yourself and play in a way favorable to people so they don't harass you, or you can be Anonymous and play however you want.
Those of us on Xbox cannot even use their Anonymous Mode

Currently, people on Xbox, Playstation, and Nintendo Switch, can't access the text chat. Could we get a text chat implemented soon(i.e the next few months at minimum)?
They've said repeatedly they have no plans to add it. And without keyboard support either it wouldn't matter much.
I'd be very surprised if our PC cousins are willing to wait around fourteen minutes for me to painfully type out a sentence with my controller! 🤣

Could this be pinned?

This is absolutely something that has been suggested before. Why it has not been implemented is anyone's guess.
All the current system really does is keep brand-new players away from players with 10K hours.
And if the wait is too long it won't even prevent that.
-
Huntress with a well timed endgame NOED Bloodwarden play is so strong. As a surv all versions of NOED have always felt cheap to me, although the current one is ehhhh because of the counterplay.

That's all we need. 12-14 bots.

It's been known that hackers can and mostly will prevent you from leaving the game regularly when found out. The amount of players using hacks is currently unknown and unknowable but I myself have happened to encounter up to one every 5 rounds, depending on the hour. It's frustrating and a complete waste of time. Honest players should NOT be held accountable as we are for others cheating in-game. Since BHVR isn't willing to actually do something about this problem (they even have massively facilitated it), I suggest automatic banning should be suspended. We should not be forced to play against hackers, neither should we be prevented from playing a game we paid for.
If you're talking about removing the DC penalties absolutely not. Every time they have to turn them off for whatever reason evil things happen. Players begin instantly leaving for the slightest inconvenience, and the trials quickly get out of control.
Get found or downed first? DC. Get an unfavorable map? DC. Face a killer they dislike? DC. Someone is running No Mither? DC. A rat farts over there somewhere? DC.
Should someone be hacking/cheating then record it and report them. If valid they'll be banned in one of the waves.

Haven't really played much in the last 6-12 months apart from checking out some of the new updates and killers. Decided to reinstall a few days ago and there seems to be a huge rise in toxic endgame chat. It's literally every 2nd game you get 2-3 people talking crap regardless of the outcome. I made a few in-game reports, but came to the conclusion I really can't be bothered with that kind of toxicity anymore so just uninstalled again. Before it seemed more tolerable with maybe 1 out of 5 games getting some disgruntled survivor giving it all that in endgame chat, but it's definitely took a more serious tone now with a lot of swearing and trash talk.
BHVR definitely need to take a look at more serious action on this kind of behaviour & start dishing out account bans for extended periods of time. Its really not a good look for the game. Maybe it's not really changed at all and I just tolerated it before. Having spend so much time away I can see why newer players would be put off by this and why DBD has a reputation for having such a toxic player base.
I'm on console so that chat box doesn't exist for me, but I thought our PC cousins could turn it off if they wished to?

I didn't read the OP the same way. I read it as the last two spots in lobby are always getting filled with bots, so i responded as such.
That's how I read it as well
-
@FearlessHunter said:
Anyone else getting the same thing?
I kinda find it hard to believe that there's not enough survivors to fill in a full match when I was always getting full games in the previous 2v8s.
I'm not 100% sure, but I think all lobbies are going into trials as 6 survs and 2 boys.

Yes. Report them in-game, record the gameplay, and upload it to YT. File a ticket on here with the relevant info and link the YT video.
And not many are going to do all that, sadly.

Does solo q make up the majority? I don't have those stats, you have a link? Me personally, I have no problem losing, I just want to play with people that play like I do and the current system just doesn't seem to work that way. I really feel like making a separate mode for ranked play will just make queues longer and the casual mode will be the same as the game is now. I remember saying rank based matchmaking was a joke but you know solo survivors actually tried, and there was far less quitters.
Globally around half of all survs are solo and the other half roughly is duos, with very small amounts of trios and even less of quads. But that's everyone altogether, with group makeup differing some due to MMR and region.

JUST IMAGINE FOR A SECOND …
- Next patch notes are delivered to #DBDPartners one day early. They also have PTB access one day early. They re-do what they did yesterday with it.
- BHVR makes #DBDPartners sign a contract that says no videos/tweets/leaks can be posted until after the official release at X time on Y date.
- Content creators have a dedicated BHVR employee they can contact and ask questions BEFORE they make videos and publish them online. This will reduce so much confusion in the community. A big reason why players have questions is because the people we watch are confused and we parrot that.
- Rewarding the people who keep their head up high and act with grace sends the right message to other content creators in the space to BEHAVE.
Testing anything earlier than the live release is a very good thing, even if it's kinda more for publicly mainly. My only issue is it's for those on Steam only and not more inclusive of the playerbase overall.

Jokes aside - I think you may be over reacting just a tad. It seems like you've had a rough few games but you can bounce back I believe in you :)Plugging in M&K would make no difference as it's not supported for this game.
Now back to the bait! 😂

The overall issue is people not playing both roles to at least a competent level. Not only would they be better at their preferred role with such knowledge, but you get to see & feel the difficulties and problems from the opposite perspective. This would absolutely create some empathy for other players, outside of the super sweat competitors who do only play just one role.

Why open two new us east and west servers instead of just one new us central server? Why do we need two each?
Because in the US like 80% of the population is on either the eastern or western states I imagine.

I agree, full rework. The moment current Knock Out is no longer useful as a solo stomper no one will run it, outside of Bubba adepts.

No, not delis. Only self unhook attempts, not garuntees. Solo queue is what majority of players play, rather than playing killer or swfing
It's like half solo and half some combination of SWF, mostly duos.

I think they mean that solos are the most common types of Survivor players overall.
Ahhhh I see. Last I read half of the survs are solo and the other half are mostly duos, with a sprinkle of trios and quads mixed in.

@XtremeDBD said:
The "go next" epidemic needs to end, this is making solo queue (main method of playing the game) a nightmare. You shouldn't be allowed to just leave a match so quickly, people really underestimate how likely you are to actually make a comeback in rough situations.
The surv who got their Deliverance two minutes into the match will be furious! 🤣
Also, what do you mean by "main method of playing the game"?

@Linkdouken said:
I quite like collecting charms but I very rarely tend to equip my survivor charms because they are hard to make out due to their size but also they often look ridiculously clunky.
I've said it before and I'll say it again - they should be on gens instead (a randomly allocated side for each survivor. It'd make more sense since killer charms are on hooks and look much better.
So yeah, do you guys charm up your survivors?
For my hooks I sometimes mess around with them, although I always keep Warrior Puppets up. For my survs I don't think I've changed any of them in like four years! 🤣

@Fuzzycube said:
- The killer shack is too survivor friendly and there should be a killer perk that does something to negate that, maybe x% hindered while within the killer shack and a few seconds after leaving but the perk gets disabled if there’s a survivor hooked in the basement below the killer shack and also for x seconds after the survivor is unhooked or something like that.
- Chaos mode is the best mode but it would be better with random items and add-ons with only point based offerings allowed.
- Self healing via Circle of Healing was the only thing that made boons worth taking.
Maybe for the shack there can be Oblivious or some Haste effect when you run Territorial and the basement is there? 🤔

If the fog changes are due to last-gen consoles, it might be time for the game to transition to newer systems. This might sound elitist, but the current situation directly affects the game’s atmosphere because players are still on older consoles. I recently played against a Bubba who spotted me from one end of Backwater Swamp to the other. This lack of obstruction essentially acts as a buff for killers, given that new consoles have been available for around five years now.
Other major multiplayer games have moved away from supporting last-gen consoles due to their limitations. Even before, the fog was manageable and they could have opted for less fog only when versing Dracula, rather than removing it altogether.
Around half of all consolers are still on the last gen machines globally, and those on console are by far the largest portion of the playerbase. That's a lot of players.
Also as a live service game they have to support them until the game no longer functions on them, and Sony & Microsoft & Nintendo each end their support for them. We're not there yet.
-
I think their goal is to make it not really matter if players are SWF or not. To somehow make the game experience roughly the same with or without comms. Not an easy task.
-
Maybe a cooldown for the noise if its repeated four straight times or so. Hopefully implemented in a way that doesn't break something else?

I'd imagine recoding the entire game would take years, but had they started doing it years ago, perhaps they'd almost be finished at this point… I don't think they want to tbh. They're simply trying to stay afloat at this point. The amount of people dedicated to the game must be big enough to allow them to drag their feet the rest of the way.. :/
It's unfortunate too, it would give them the opportunity to add in so many cool things. Besides a thorough optimization pass, they could have also implemented a good match replay system to aid in reporting and allow players to rewatch their trials for improvement.
-
The most sweeping thing they can do has always been a fresh recoding from scratch, which would give them the best opportunity to address so much. They've said they have no plans for that, sadly.
The last monster chapter was the first Resident Evil update, which had the most eyeballs on it that this game ever had. I hope we don't have a repeat of that super buggy unstable mess.
-
Much like tunneling this term lost most of its meaning years ago.
Also I do not think this conversation can possibly be helpful.

For some reason Freddy's Snares can't go through a lot of the walls on Lery's. They just disappear after hitting it.
There's no way I can tell to even determine which walls it can't go through. It just vanishes randomly. At first I thought it was just the object lying around or the corners of the rooms that had issues, but then there's just random walls that don't fit into that that just destroy his snares. It's not every wall but it's a large chunk of them.
So yeah. If you get Lery's as Freddy, your power is pretty much useless. Please fix this soon because the map is nearly unplayable for him.
Have you tested it out in Gigeon yet?

I would go out of my way to get those stacks over most anything else, and I bet most others felt the same way. Gotta get my stonks!
Very much so. Hooking was a lot more satisfying with the BBQ stacks. After BBQ lost the BP stacks, I stopped caring about hooking as much. I became a lot more likely to slug rather than fight for hooks if the survivors had Boil Over or Sabo or anything.
Boil Over when you're using a controller is just plain mean! 😋

All I did was send an outplayed link which was a clip of my gameplay because I wanted to know if a guy I was going against was hacking. I know for sure it was that because as soon as I clicked enter, I got banned. Is there like an appeal thing or sum?
Bans in general cannot be discussed here on the forum, and in your case you'll have to deal with support over in Discord. There's nothing anyone here can do about this.
-
Sound issues? In this game?
-
You're right the reason they have given out over the years were exactly that it would require a UI update, and apparently take way to much time and resources to make happen.
Most non-fps games the input device used doesn't have such a high impact as it does with the killers of DBD. Some have felt unplayable, most clunky, and none of them truly can be run anywhere near their full potential. I've also never heard any of our PC cousins praise how playing killer with a controller on a console feels, whenever they've done both.
