I think three circumstances are responsible:
1. Killers get more bp and with the event going on everyone has become a bp goblin and crown collector
2. Nemesis is attracting new resident evil players
3. The constant survivor dcs which occur because of the horrible state of the game on console (and deliberately dcing PC survivors) make playing killer easier, combine that with point 1 and you have a very good reason to play killer
I think after the event is over and the game is (hopefully) fixed with the next mid chapter update things should go back to normal
-
What the killer didn't play nice because there were only 3 survivors? Preposterous, we should find that killer and ban them for life for the atrocities they have committed!
-
I agree with the points you make, but I think your tier 4 suggestions could just be applied to his current tier 3 as it does nothing (no a measly 1m increase doesn't count).
Like others have said previously his tentacle hitbox should be bigger. Right now it is smaller than both deathslinger's spear and trickster's knife hitbox and I don't understand why. It should also be more consistent. Like I know technically it is a straight line projectile but it is just dumb that survivors can duck out of the way at windows or loops with short obstacles
-
I support this. Custom bot matches would not only be a place where you can practice difficult killers without being taunted by survivors, they would also be relaxing and fun if you don't feel like tryharding today. The bots are not too strong but for an ai they are somewhat competent. If we could earn even a fraction of bloodpoints from these matches it would be perfect
-
A fun one is the "I hate generators" build: pop goes the weasel/ overcharge/oppression/dragon's grip with the red paintbrush add on. It is definitely a meme but a funny one
-
I prefer licensed killer in general, my most played ones are nightmare, pig, demogorgon and pyramid head. I didn't choose them because of their power level but because I like their franchise
-
Meh
The shards are nice and the resident evil chapter looks nice
but
The game doesn't run smoothly on most consoles and nemesis needs some serious buffs
I don't care about event items, cakes, crowns and cosmetics
-
You have never experienced peak dbd if you didn't pick huntress on mother's dwelling without corrupt intervention and a gen gets done before you can even reach it
-
It's probably because of the event and the influx of resident evil fans trying out nemesis. I assume it should go back to normal after the event is over
-
The perk's theme is altruism, so I think instead of gens EVERY altruistic action should reward a stack. So in addition to its current iteration, healing someone else, picking up a slug and mending someone else should give stacks as well
-
Don't listen to this other guy, you make some solid points. It is true that some maps have loops that connect too easily (rotten fields) or are just too strong in general (fractured cowshed, haddonfield and Gideon pallet plant) where I agree they should do something about that but on most other maps this is not the case.
Regarding your suggested increase in gen times I am not a huge fan. If anything they could increase it to 90 seconds. Anything longer would be mind numbingly boring for survivors so there should be another solution. A long time ago the devs mentioned an early game warm up phase that would balance out the beginning of the game which is the most crucial time for killers, but we haven't heard anything about that since. I really hope it will come one day, but alas...
-
It's probably coming with the early game warm up phase we were promised ages ago
-
Nightmare's and spirit's animations are pretty neat
-
Nemesis is already gigantic, like I think the only killer that comes close is Pyramid head if he would straighten his posture
But it would admittedly be fun if nemesis would be even bigger and gain the power of the scrapped "demolisher" killer where he could just destroy walls and obstacles like pallets

I couldn’t imagine they’ll do that. That would remove exactly what’s unique about them.
I think so too. If victor becomes ai only then they killed the twins harder than the trickster

Your mistake is that you say 'chases are the most fun and making killers like slinger is going to hurt the game'
Killers like slinger, twins etc are for people that don't take joy out of chases on either side. they are there to achieve a greater appeal and challenge players to develop various playstyles.
If you have the most fun from chases, good for you. But not everyone does and having killers where the counter is stealth or anything else is not going to hurt the game.
what is going to hurt the game is the insistence that only chases are fun and trying to force that onto other players and the devs (because we'll end up with more tricksters who could have had an interesting ability if the devs would not have listened to those saying only chases are fun)
Exactly. The argument "only chases are fun" is entirely subjective. Running around the same pallet for a minute before the survivor uses "dead hard into pallet drop" is not fun and having killers that can stop this with their power is not a bad thing imo
-
As you said some insanely broken stuff could be created and I am not a fan of that
-
The penalty was disabled because the game crashes on a regular basis on console since the resident evil patch
-
If I remember correctly the map has a legit infinite and something like that is just unacceptable in 2021
-
Find the weakest link. They are easy downs as they are the worst loopers, making them only useful for gen jockeying. Of course not every team has them, but if they do (and believe me if they are solos they have at least one) finding them early usually leads to victory.
As others have mentioned don't over commit to chases you cannot end quickly, just leave them and look for weaker loopers
And lastly never ever chase someone who teabags or flashlight clicks to get your attention. They want to be chased so ignore them.
-
If you have the option to get another killer get that but otherwise get trickster. At least his perks are not offensively bad and killer cosmetics are borderline useless as YOU cannot see them in game
-
You madlad, think of the horrors you would unleash upon the game by making base fov 100°! Stealth would basically be dead! How can you expect survivors to hide from the killer when the entire map is in their fov! No more window tech! Killers would 5k every round (the 5th kill would be the balance of the game btw)
This is the usual response posts like this get, I would support a larger fov because it is more of a qol change than a gamebreaking buff
-
No, ghoul Claire is love, ghoul Claire is... dead. It also helps that her "grunts of pain" are actually "moans of pleasure" to really show that she is already dead and doesn't feel pain. Ghoul Claire is enjoying every second of this.
-
Because on the survivor side you would only meet bills and davids with a side of jake and meg because these characters could now stack even more second chance perks. Survivors right now are merely skins, so this would create survivors that are just objectively better than others
And on the killer side blight, nurse and spirit would probably have a field day with built in undying, nurse's calling and haunted grounds but for other killers this change would be borderline useless. Oh no here comes deathslinger with his built in gearhead, or nightmare with fire up, or huntress with beast of prey, etc.
What I am trying to illustrate is that some 5 perk combinations would be so overpowered that you would only encounter the characters that can run these broken combos and no one else.
-
If you play killer it is best to identify the weakest survivor asap and exploit that weakness to break the team by either forcing everyone to come and protect them (that's what swfs usually do) or tunneling that survivor out.
If you are in a chase and just don't seem to catch that survivor any time soon then abandon that chase, especially if the survivor teabags or flashlight clicks you -> these people want to be chased because they are probably good at it so don't do it.
-
Think of all the hackers! They might have to use their cheat for max bp only once and be set for life if you disable the cap! /s
-
Blight's update was also pretty tame when it came to bugs as far as I remember. The first real disaster since legion's update were the twins but from there it went downhill fast

Bro, we cant even play the game we ve paid for. What do you expect.
^ this. I play on switch so "pain threshold" for what I consider playable is quite high but this is just inexcusable
-
No please not an elderly woman I would feel terrible for killing a sweet old lady :(
-
Since wglf focuses on altruism I think healing someone else, picking up a slug, and mending someone else should additionally award tokens as that would fit the theme of the perk
-

It always goes for the person with lowest rank in swf. Fret not, friend.
does it still do that? I thought they fixed that by calculating the mean rank of all swf members?

@Wavy said:
this forum is full of killer mains lol.
You can't run around labelling everyone who doesn't agree with you a killer main. If you want a serious conversation you have to listen to the arguments of the opposite side and use your own arguments against that. Simply accusing everyone who disagrees with you of being a killer main is not a good argument
-
It's just the killer equivalent of t bagging or flashlight clicking so I offer you the same advice survivors offer killers who complain about that:
Just grow a thicker skin lol
-
Farming davids and megheads are my favorites
-
Trickster is so bad and the funny thing is that the ptb feedback on him was that he is bad and needs buffs to not just be an interior huntress. The feedback was not completely ignored but the buffs he received were so minor that they changed absolutely nothing
-
The reason you can blind Pyramid head and demogorgon despite neither of them having eyes is that the entity applies blindness to them so they have the true killer experience
-
Old bt is back apparently
-
These changes would be such a relief but alas the grind wasn't even mentioned in the last stream, so they don't see it as a problem apparently
-
Welcome back!
That is a good idea, at least until they finally give us the early game warm up that was promised ages ago
-
Upcoming trickster changes:
After throwing three knives in a row the trickster's arm cramps up, forcing a 180 second cooldown on throwing knives
Lullaby volume increased
Knives can no longer put survivors into the dying state but apply deep wound
Laceration decays after 1 second of not being hit with a knife
While reloading there is a 50% chance that the trickster will mess up, inflicting deep wound to himself in the process
We believe these changes will balance the trickster
- the great balancer
-
"Nemesis" and "op" do not work in the same sentence without a "not"
-
The only thing I hate about it are the breakable walls but that is more of a "breakable walls were a mistake" thing than a problem with the map itself
-
Wraith
But dishonorable mentions go to nightmare and huntress for both having one meme perk (bloodwarden and huntress' lullaby) and two garbage perks

I buy ac sometimes because I enjoy making outfits that I like. It is not to flex. I don't spend a lot tho.
I meant it more as a joke, I don't mean to offend the people that enjoy cosmetics But I really don't see the point in buying cosmetics that change nothing gameplay wise.
-
With shards? Sure why not
With auric cells? No why would you do that unless you really like to flex on poor peasants

Bubba's mediocre?

Ugh, I can't reply or post pictures. Says Network Error... So I have to resort to tagging.
He is definitely not a top tier. He is a killer that is easy to understand and aside from weird collision not too hard to use, but he lacks map mobility -> the traits of a mid tier killer. I understand you don't like camping but if the survivors go for unsafe unhooks against a killer that can punish sloppy altruism plays quite well that is on them and I do not think nerfing him is the right call imo.
-
Not really a fan of nerfing an already mediocre killer
-

What's even a good build on him?
The ol' reliable: BBQ and tinkerer are musts. Then you can either go with ruin/undying or corrupt/pgtw. You can also try ruin/pgtw if you are feeling adventurous
-
Play as nurse/blight/spirit and be REALLY good with them
or
Cry in a corner and hope they leave soon
-
I think he is the second best "pure" m1 killer only surpassed by wraith
