I need some opinions. What if u apply Oni's power mechanic to Bubba?

The idea came out of nowhere. I'm also on my 4th energy drink today. Never do College boys and girls.

You probably thought Bubba would go into rage mode or something and start sucking up the blood, hah? He does suck your essence when ur getting camped by him but that's a different thing.

Right so....

People will always tell you not to save against a Bubba when he's camping, even with BT. Why? Because he can down both the rescuer & the person who has BT in the same chainsaw sweep even if the rescued person has Dead Hard. So here's my idea:

  • To stop this from happening, after hitting someone with a chainsaw, 1/3 of ONE charge / CURRENT charge will be depleted just like Oni's when he downs someone while in his Demon Dash.

Downing someone as Oni will not deplete 1/3 of your power, no, it's just how I would imagine it for Bubba.

So, you would end up in this situation:

  • You go to rescue someone from Bubba with BT, bubba revs his chainsaw, he downs you and hits the BT guy. 1/3 of a charge will be depleted once he hits you and the other 1/3 charge will be depleted once he hits the guy with BT.

This is still a win scenario for Bubba, as he will 100% secure a trade, but won't allow him to get 2 birds with one stone, aka, 2 survivors 1 chainsaw.

  • Here's another fact, Bubba will always have his one-shot at the ready, unlike Oni.
  • Here, I'll give you another, unlike Oni, Bubba can one-shot multiple survivors grouped up together in 2-4 seconds. He can chain from one survivor to another if they're not careful, they're together, or whatever.

Not to mention Bubba's steering is 10x better when it comes to going around loops unlike Oni in his Demon Dash.

But wait, you're going to ask me about his Speed Limiter addon? YOU FOOL, I have thought of that.

  • Replace the garbage tier addons for ones that reduce the amount of charge lost when hitting a survivor & add a green / purple one that gives you -> 1/3 of charges back OR 2/3 of charges back OR 2/4 of charges back.

By giving him 2/3 or 2/4 charges back upon hitting someone with a chainsaw you'll STILL give him more charges back than what we already lost. I would prefer maybe 2/4 or 3/5 charges back upon a hit.

If Bubba were to run Chilly & Beast's marks addons he might still be able to catch with the BT guy, but at least this would make him to use two of the most powerful addons he has at his disposal, if not the best ones.

Thoughts?

  • Bubba doesn't need a nerf.

  • Not really a fan of nerfing an already mediocre killer

  • @Hex_Ignored

    Bubba's mediocre?

Ugh, I can't reply or post pictures. Says Network Error... So I have to resort to tagging.

  • Bubba doesn't need a nerf he is in a good spot right now, in spite of that we have nerfed greninja

  • I'm a Bubba main but ngl I actually don't mind this. Will hurt campers and not really hurt any good Bubba players.

You very, very rarely get more than 1 hit with the chainsaw while using it (extremely rare) so this wouldn't be that big of a nerf.

Also your right, I did think of the blood thing and was wondering what you were going to suggest lol

  • @Weasdat

Well, if that is too much. Maybe deplete 1/3 of his power ONLY when he hits a second survivor?

But then he would need NO change in addons.

It's mainly a nerf to his camping. BHVR only made him stronger in camping after his rework.

He is definitely not a top tier. He is a killer that is easy to understand and aside from weird collision not too hard to use, but he lacks map mobility -> the traits of a mid tier killer. I understand you don't like camping but if the survivors go for unsafe unhooks against a killer that can punish sloppy altruism plays quite well that is on them and I do not think nerfing him is the right call imo.

Camping is generally a bad strategy that is only enabled by even worse survivors. Every game is gonna have unfun cheese whether or not it wins you games. If you get camped by a bubba just take a piss break or something and hope for the next match to be better. Nerfing bubba wont stop him or any other killer from camping when they think they can get away with it.

  • @Hex_Ignored @Weasdat

Yeah, but I'm not nerfing his 1v1 potential at all. Unless we're counting speed limiter.

He is a killer that is easy to understand and aside from weird collision not too hard to use

There u go, he wouldn't mind a nerf in his camping style. I'm sure new players would love this change, not the Bubba, but the survivors who end up getting camped to death & then come complaining here which is 100% understandable. And then they would hate the game, not come back.... etc, etc....

Here is one of my strongest arguments, if not more:

    • Making this change would punish a camping bubba even more as it would allow the survivors to trade hooks & while slamming gens at the same time. Of course, I'm talking about actual coordination.... Slamming gens when someone is getting camped by a bubba in my SoloQ matches? Please... I'd be lucky if at 1 or 2 gens pop at least.
    • It will make sure Bubba gets no kills or no more than one if someone has BT, but this also depends on your teammates if they have the perk so it might not be always the case.
    • This will allow the previously camped survivor to actually play the game, even if it's just holding m1 on gens, doing totems or whatever... At least he'll not have a miserable death on the hook.
    • Bubba will always get a trade even with this nerf, no matter what.
    • If you're too close, Bubba will down you no matter what. So he's gonna get a down and a hooked person.

Nerfing bubba wont stop him or any other killer from camping when they think they can get away with it.

No, but it will make sure Bubba will not be the strongest at this kind of thing. I'm also looking at you Hag....

It doesn't matter how you spin this. It's a straight up nerf to bubba and there's no reason to nerf him.

  • @Weasdat

It doesn't matter how you spin this. It's a straight-up nerf to bubba and there's no reason to nerf him.

The only reason you'd have this mindset is because you play like this and don't like getting punished for it & you just simply woke up and chose violence and decided to play like this....

    • It's not a nerf to his 1v1, this only makes him weaker in the camping category and doesn't allow him to chainsaw 2 survivors even if they have BT

Do you fail to see my point of view? Or see that there's MORE to it than a STRAIGHT-UP nerf to bubba, where it MAINLY affects his camping potential?

A nerf to his camping value, sure. But is that really important? If you're relying on camping to secure kills, you're not really "winning".

How mediocre he is simply isn't really relevant here.

  • Stopped reading when you called speed limiter a garbage timer add on, it is in fact Bubbaโ€™s best and most fun add on.

Also no, bad idea, take a break from caffeine.

  • Maybe just buff Oni instead of touching low-mid tier killer?

Yes his camping value is important. He's the best killer at it and it is certainly part of his kit. There are situations where you should camp like if you have a hook in the middle of a three gen.

    "you're not really "winning"."

What kind of mental gymnastics is this? No one but le gentlemen killers thinks anything below a 3k is a win disregarding hatch. If you get 3k via camping whether or not it's you making the right move or the survivors making the wrong one you won.

Doing gens is how you get punished for camping. Nerfing his camping potential is still nerfing him and it will affect him when camping is the optimal strategy. It's been said a million times by everyone devs included. If you're getting camped it's on your team mates to do gens instead of die like dummies because they want to run directly at the killer for a free save.

The point I was getting at was that competent survivors will smash out gens, which means you have 1 kill on the board and 3 hook states. That's really not winning.

Camping is almost never the right play, especially not in a three gen. So, put that way, just how important is it for him to be the best at camping?

Pretty important when he doesnt have map mobility and gets cucked hard by vaults which are every where. Tunneling and camping is part of the game, and for a reason. It lets him put insane pressure on the team when used appropriately. Like hooking the survivor in the middle of a 3 gen. Or punishing a swf you know is going to be altruistic. Bubba isnt a horrible killer, but hes not great either. Being able to camp at appropriate times in the appropriate places is what elevates him out of c or d tier. This nerf would put him there (probably c).

Look it would be wonderful if the game had more objectives and killers could play in such a way that they were taking turns with the survivors and being nice. Those days disappeared with old ruin. You cant neuter bubba like this without balancing the other side by slowing gens, which we all know isnt going to happen.

Nobody likes the bubba that hard camps the first person they put on hook, but nobody likes the gen rushing swf either. Everyone in the middle has to deal with the occasional douchebags ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

  • Heads up, bubba can chain tokens without sweeping again, meaning you can suck a token off him and he'll keep going.

  • @Weasdat said:

    Said the killer mains.

The cannibal should have to earn his instant down power and until then have a different ability to it. I've suggested before he could take fuel from generators, causing them to regress a little if they have progress or take a little longer to repair if they don't. Something to just make sure he doesn't always have the instant down would be nice.

I'm a Ghost Face main, I get 4ks all the time without tunneling or camping. Both Bubba and Ghost Face have the same movement speed. Neither of them have map mobility.

Tunneling and camping isn't putting insane pressure on the team if the team doesn't care. I can hold a 3 gen for a solid 15 minutes. All M1 Killers get cucked by vaults, so Bubba's not special.

It depends on the situation doesnt it. Look me in my eyes and tell me youve never exposed someone while they were unhooking ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ bet you get 12 hooks every game and cgase each survivor in turn too huh ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ (fyi no i dont believe you, save it for the survivor mains that believe that #########, even ohtz camps and tunnels when necessary, ######### outta here ๐Ÿ˜‚).

If youve got someone hooked in the middle of a three gen that is an insane amount of pressure because they cant work those gens. No team in their right mind wants to end up at end game in a 3 gen situation and down a person. They lose 90% of the time when that happens. This is where bubba elevates, because theyre in serious trouble if this happens with him.

Do you even play killer? Why do i have to explain this to someone that 4ks all the time so must be a r1?

Are you smoking something? Camping in the middle of a 3 gen is a great position and no one does it better than bubba. Camping as bubba with a 3 gen is even better if you can cut off the map to see anyone running through.

  • I personally think bubba is fine where he's at

  • If you limited bubbas power usage even more than it already is he would be a D tier killer at best. He's fine as he is.

They should have never of added overheat or limiting how much bubba can use his chainsaw.

Bubba's chainsaw isn't some supremely powerful tool that allows him to go above and beyond all survivor defenses like Oni's fury or plague's corrupt vomit. Bubba is still held back by vaults, holding W, pallets, lockers, etc. He has to earn the hit it's not free so there's no reason he has to earn his ability to then again earn the hit.
