  • Have you tried hiding? I'm really good at hiding, once you get caught by the Billy it is over yes so basically your best play is to not get found. Urban Evasion, that new OP Aura perk from Jeff, the damn lockers, not getting found is your best strategy and hurts every single killer in the game.

  • Leatherface has no map pressure and the only thing that separates him from Billy is his speed and distance in the charge. I wouldn't put him in the low tier simply because he can still break pallets fast, same speed as Billy without addons? Idk. He can still instadown people as well and anyone who can instadown does not belong in the low tier. Yes, he has no map pressure but that is overcome with perks, I dominate with Huntress Lullaby on Leatherface, I can down people quick and stack those tokens fast to the point where they're looking for that totem and running all over the place not doing Gens.

The problem I see with Freddy is that he only becomes a competitive killer with the use of Class Photo and Blue Dress.

Yeah, I know people utilize blocks to reduce the transition time, but I view that as trying to reduce his weakness, which is only effective to a point. IMO, it’s better to play to his strengths, and that’s putting people to sleep and keeping them there.

To put survivors to sleep: Class Photo. Keeping them there: Green Dress.

As often as not, I’m not chasing the first survivor I find, or the second: I’m forcing them to waste time trying to get out of the dream world either by running around to find another survivor or doing gens at half speed.

Absolutely, they’ll get out before I hook the first survivor I decide to chase, but then BBQ tells me where to find them again. It stops, or severely slows their ability to complete objectives while I, as an unremarkable killer, have the time to get my hooks and kills.

My last three Freddy games were (before BBQ/Pudding): 32k points, 32k points, 31.7k points. And the last, I carried the last survivor to the hatch and dropped them off.

That said, it was fun while it lasted. Distortion and lockers completely wreck the build to the point of being laughable. If even half the survivors are running it, and I expect they will, I won’t be able to build the early game momentum to effectively slow down the match.

Whatever the changes to Freddy, his strength will have to be something other than aura reading.

Yeah, distortion will hurt Freddy the most of all the killers. Same with the locker changes, now survivors can just afk in lockers and wait for their teamates to rescue them, hopefully not all these changes make it to live

Well hopefully everyone won't have Distortion when you play Freddy and we don't know if their tokens will just constantly be taken away when they are out oif your terror radius or if it's every time they leave your tettor radius. If it's the former then it's not a big deal but if it's latter then yeet, yeah it'll hurt him the most.

  • Do you know how to hide? Did you know that if you hide efficiently then you can't be found by anyone, not even someone who can instadown? Billy does not need to get nerfed, you need to get better, not getting caught in the first place is the worst thing that can happen to any killer because it means they can't hook anyone and they lose. Urban Evasion is your friend and now this new perk that Jeff has that blocks Aura reads will also be your friend.

  • You literally say that you can handle every killer at Rank1 but Hillbilly so that means that Hillbilly is the ONLY one that give you trouble at RANK 1, that means he's the only one who can STILL BE VIABLE at Rank 1. I saw you play as other killers at Rank 1 so you must know that Gen Rushing is a problem for everyone but Hillbilly and Nurse.

  • Hmm, it would require a complete rework on him. In your version he would need a normal movement speed of 115% or else he would never catch anyone and he can't use his ability until he hits enough Survivors. I'm assuming he would still be really fast and charge during his Frenzy and if that is the case then he would be OP because he would have Michael's instadown BUT be super fast and attack multiple people. Michael can hit multiple people but his speed does not increase.

  • I would also like unmasked cosmetics <3 whoever is wearing that green hoodie is going to be my main, that smile ;)

  • @JanTheMan said:
Then no one would use his "primary power" of deep wound and just use it for normal attacks, as deep wound is fricking weak.

Well I was trying to make it sound like they could add this after they fix Deep Wounds. As it is right now yeah if they added this then no one would ever use Deep Wounds because it isn't strong enough but hopefully once they fix this then my idea could fill in his main problem of not catching people without his power.

  • I actually used it for it's supposed intended purpose, to laugh when someone said something intentionally funny. That is why I miss it because hot damn I saw something funny earlier and I could not express it without commenting...''lol''

  • We've all been wanting different game modes, the closest we have to an Arcade Mode is Kill your Friends which allows you to choose the map and pick any perk or item BUT it doesn't have the option to forbid any perk or item, I would like that but like you were saying, in an Arcade Mode. I like the Realistic Mode but I think it should be harder because some people don't need perks to beat the killer, just be good at looping. Maybe less pallets in this mode, I want to suggest something with the hooks like only 2 hooks instead of 3 hooking but IDK if that's too much? Originally the Mori did not need a hook it was just you get downed you get killed so maybe that could come back for ''Realistic Mode''?

A lot of Killers want to play Killer with their friend and have a 2Vwhatever, 2 different or same killers against more Survivors, less Survivors? No one can agree but I for one would like that mode because a Trapper and a Hag teaming up can be super deadly.

I really just want other modes to have other things to do besides Gens, I saw one guy say getting wood to build a bonfire and the Killer has to stop them from adding enough wood to the campfire or else he could be banished etc. But this game is called Dead by Daylight and yet there is NOTHING in this game to match the title, what if we had a Survive till Dawn mode?

  • Have you seen the original trailer for this game? Where are those Survivors lol
Maybe it's a new cosmetic later or maybe they just goofed, I love tats I hope they bring more in.

  • He's not on here but mine is the Clown, his laugh makes downing people so satisfying :)
Also he's the epitome of the angry drunk who throws bottles at people lol

  • I like the idea but the percentages from your tokens are too small imo. Enduring is more powerful than your Obsessive because it's 50% I believe BUT doesn't cover the Flashlight stun, Thanatophobia is more powerful than Agony and that's not a totem, also Play With Your Food has a 5% speed increase per token and isn't a totem BUT yours has the advantage of not losing that speed when you swing your weapon. Other than that I like that his power naturally gives him a speed boost throughout the game as the Gens are done so despite being slow he has a huge endgame potential.

  • I was thinking that as well, he basically did what Pig does in the trailer but can't actually do it in the game, it's a shame as well because that could be cool. But who would really fall for that? I mean I constantly crouch right into the Pig every damn time but really, who would fall for that trick?

  • Fighting back against the killers in this game could work if the Killer could just kill Survivors without hooking them. I know everyone wants different modes but what if we had a Gen Mode which is normal gameplay and a Kill Mode where it's like Friday kinda with this kind of stuff in it, wooden stakes, wrenches, etc

I just saw DemonDaddy has a response just like mine as I was writing this so I'm not the first to say this apparently lol

  • What's funny is that the Emblem specifically says, the shorter the chase, the more points, yet we all know that if we have several short choices we get Silver and if we get few long hell many LONG chases we get Irridescent. How the ######### does that happen? Short means short and long means ''how'd you get over there''?

  • I was watching it with other people and they didn't know what DBD was but just from seeing that compilation they were interested and to be fair it was pretty exciting to watch it.

My only beef with it was they were hyping us all for this huge thing at the Game Awards and it was just a reveal for dedicated servers. I mean yes it is what everyone has been asking for this entire time so a lot of people are most definitely excited about that but I thought it was going to be something bigger. I was cheering.

The whole point of this Killer isn't to down people

That's the point of every killer in the game.

The point of this killer in particular is to hit multiple people and distract them with an inconvenience, kind of like Pig and her traps is an inconvenience.

  • The whole point of this Killer isn't to down people it is to waste their time with Mending therefore they don't do Gens. But of course, they didn't do a great job at fixing that because Deep Wounds will still be underpowered because it only takes like 10 seconds and BAM, yeah the timer goes down during that time but SO WHAT, it won't go down below 99%. The fix is an illusion of a fix, it sounds good but ultimately defeats itself, like ha ha you thought you were dying but it was a joke. Making Mend take longer or being affected by Sloppy Butcher would help, taking out the 99% safety measure would also help.

Of course, none of that really matters when he can't catch up to people because he's slow and he still needs his power to do that but can't down people with his power so even if they fix his power to effectively distract people, he still can't catch up.

I propose, what if when you go into Frenzy you have the option of pushing a secondary attack button that DOES NOT afflict Deep Wounds but a normal hit? Whether that person has Deep Wounds or not does not matter because you automatically lose your power like normal and get stunned because it counts as a normal hit. This way we can use our power to catch up and hit people OR inflict Deep Wounds when we see a group of people.

  • I wasn't trying to be irritated, I was just baffled that I wasn't being clear, I thought I was better than that so I was disappointed in myself for not being clear.

  • Just bringing in the Memories thing would be cool, find all the Memories and get some reward or not, just finding them for your own personal enjoyment because they tell a story and you want the whole story, maybe there's an achievement for it? That slows the game down a teensy bit.

I think you are more or less trading one kind of stand off for another. Personally, I would rather have a survivor get a hatch than play immersion with one survivor wasting my time. I could play a whole other match in the time it takes to hunt one survivor crawling around from bush to bush.

In what way would this be a standoff?

.If the killer finds either the chest containing the key or the hatch then the killer can camp them. Tell me, what exactly is the difference between the killer camping the hatch when it's open vs camping the hatch when it is closed when a survivor has a key? Unless the killer is able to insta down the survivor, nothing. You still have a stupid hatch stand off.

If you wanted to actually solve the hatch stand off issue with a key then there is a way, but killers won't like the answer. The answer is to have 2 keys and 2 hatches. Then it is impossible for one killer to force a hatch stand off. That would also end the game faster since it wouldn't take the survivor as long to find either.

Like I was saying earlier in the post, once the Survivor has the key they need to be caught BEFORE they reach the Hatch. The killer is NOT ALLOWED to win at the hatch if they have the key. If the Survivor reaches the Hatch and presses the button to open it they just go in period, even if the Killer hits them once they go in, even of the Survivor is hit with a chainsaw and gets downed at the hatch they can still press the button and they just go in, this scenario does not allow a Hatch grab. Either you catch them before they reach it or that's it.

Other than that, if someone brings in a key or randomly finds a key then the Hatch grab is allowed.

Except that isn't how the game works. A survivor in the dying state can't interact with objects and killers can interrupt hatch escapes. Unless you are suggesting that a counter-intuitive exception be made that is different than everything else in the game. Cause, you know, that is good game design.

Yes, for the third time, that is exactly what I am proposing. take out the hatch grab, let them use the key in the downed state, I can't believe it was not clear. Yes change the entire system so this works in this instance, everything they have in this game that prevents a Survivor escaping through the Hatch WILL NOT WORK, is just taken out of the game completely in this very instance.

In the stance where someone brings in a key or randomly find one no, the hatch grab is still there and yes, technically that is a hatch standoff but keys aren't common so it would not be as common as it is now, in this particular case it would be rare and why the ######### would you even do a hatch standoff at that point unless you just wanted to spend your free time doing it which is completely ok.

When you hunt a Survivor you hear this thrilling jungle vibe hunting music like you're watching Predator, when you're being hunted by the killer you hear something equally thrilling but it's not scary

The music is pumping adrenaline but it is certainly not scary.
It seems to encourage chase instead of promoting hide and seek.

If people want the game to be scary it's gonna need to be changed very frequently because you'll just get used to it and it will no longer be scary.

Something scary does not loose its effect if it remains to be threatening to the survival.
The most threatening thing when trying to survive is any noise that gives away your location.

A combination of silence, eerie background sound and noises created by both survivors and killers could build up to a more terrifying experience.

    • Glass scattered in random places in the tiles could produce noise
    • A metal can that drops down from a box when passing close by
    • floor panels that creak when you step on them
    • window shutters that slam in the wind
    • wooden doors that need to be opened silently
    • automatic doors that trigger when passing by to close
    • automatic lights that switch on and create a flickering sound

    . . .

The possibilities for scary sound effects and the threat they could create for gameplay are infinite.
Less aura reading and running aimlessly around but more hiding and listening would be my horror game of choice.
    . . .

Exactly what I'm trying to get across thank you :)

  • Ok I get your opinion and yes we look at it completely differently, I want to eliminate something stupid while you're pretty relaxed and can take that 4k or leave it. But the mechanics of suggestion, do you think they are balanced and could work with the changes like Whispers etc. I get you don't really care about the scenario but would those changes be more fair?

Also, if we just accept that most of our opinions are moot and ignored we might as well not have a community to offer feedback, we might as well just sit back and accept what we get, never complain because we fall on deaf ears anyway right, it's not a great life to live.

  • The creativity is amazing, here I was saying repair the power cord from the Gen to the door or find gas for the Gen lol

Anyway, the Shrine is cool because it's kind of like the sack from the Hallowed Blight event except there is 4 of them, but I think the time to pray should be longer, perhaps 12 seconds which is the healing time with Botany 3. Having some kind of noise going on while praying should be there too, kind of like the sacks it's a greed thing and they are randomly placed so not every Shrine could be found in the beginning and maybe no one looked for them, I think it's awesome, especially if it's small like an altar on a table or kind of like the totems.

I really like the Memories as well but it could be extremely dangerous with a SWF group, having one person know of one perk and another Survivor knowing of an entirely different one is fine but if it's SWF then everyone knows. If you have NOED or Bloodwarden well you're screwed every single match.

  • His power is weak yes but even if you fix his power to be dangerous you still have the problem where he is slower than everyone else and needs his power to catch up to people, he can't just hit them because he's too slow. Taking away the double stun when he hits the same person twice, having a huge stun when he manually stops using his power is a huge setback for Legion. He could easily play like Wraith where he is slower when he rings his bell(turning his power off) and then chase normally, he could turn his frenzy off with no stun and it could allow Legion to chase someone normally because they can be right up on them. Hitting the person a second time with Frenzy should not have a huge stun and wiping the blade, it should just be wiping the blade and not give the Survivor another speed boost.

Regardless there are many ways to fix the Legion, he/she is so close to being OP or the weakest, even I made a post about how to help Legion, it wasn't as popular as this because there was no drama but there are lots of ways to fix them and I honestly believe we need another PTB with whatever changes they make, just one more with this particular killer, have it last just a day. Whatever changes they make will either break or help him and sending out a broken killer and saying ''have fun with what you got, we'll fix him eventually'' is not responsible just for the sole reason of how on the edge this killer is.

Everyone hates the waiting game of who wins the hatch standoff,

Speak for yourself. Many of us just hit the survivor, get our 300 points and let him go. No poitn wasting time with hatch standoff.

Also, your proposed solution only prolongs the hide-and-seek endgame. As a survivor, I don't mind that part too much: crawling around the map avoiding the killer has a bit of excitement, but as killer it's quite boring. What you suggest would just double the time spent looking for the last guy.

There's only one change that should be done to the hatch: this crazy idea of giving 2000 extra BP for a hatch escape should be removed. It often makes survivors look for it even when gates are open, wasting the killer's time. Now that's a bad incentive. If anything, there should be a BP penalty for a hatch escape. After all, the survivor kinda takes the easy route out.

Ah yes, the quiet lonely search for the last Survivor who doesn't know where the Hatch is, I get those but they don't usually last that long. On large maps like Rotten Fields that can be a HUGE problem with this idea, perhaps every 15 seconds the Killer gets a location similar to the Doc's giving away their approximate spot? Or maybe that perk Spies From The Shadows is made base game at that point or Whispers, the Perks themselves would still exist but at this point it would just be something added to the Killer automatically. That way the Killer has help looking for that last little mouse scurrying about.

  • I like the idea of the Gens affecting his power and fast people go to sleep, it actually makes sense too because the Survivors are working really hard to repair those Gens and would feel really tired at the end so BAM, go to sleep faster.

Making his Block addons like Doctor's is kind of cheap and lazy though but making them do other things to damper Survivors would be really cool because he is called The Nightmare and making them see things or giving them bad effects in the dream world also makes sense and is cool.

Now not allowing Self-Care to wake you up does not make sense, you're healing yourself and you intentionally hurt yourself but don't wake up? Pretty sure someone does that in several of his movies and it works.

I don't know if you know this but I looked it up because I heard Freddy was nerfed before release but Freddy gets slower when he puts someone in a Dream Transition. They did that because Freddy was ''op'' I think that should be taken out, they have 7 seconds to run, get to a pallet, a window and they get glimpses of him.

I have my own Freddy Re-Work page but yours is really cool too, I love the Block ideas. Here's mine if you want to pick at it.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/19280/freddy-re-work-suggestions#latest

  • Sorry no one replied to yours, no one replied to mine originally so I made it an actual topic instead of a comment.

I like the Exposed status but it doesn't work because the standoff still exists. In your scenario, the Killer can still camp the hatch and still needs to camp the hatch because they're afraid of losing said Survivor so bam 3 Gens get done and the Survivor can open the door or go for that hatch the Killer is guarding. Slowly the killer's power is being taken away because they want that 4th kill, they're being punished. Either way, the Survivor is getting something for free and it's only benefiting them, yeah they're exposed but they have LOADS of options while the Killer is still hovering over that free escape hatch.

To use Rancor to it's fullest (and to counter DS) you would have to let the obsession live till the end of the game. If you don't think you are capable of playing in a specific way , and don't have a plan and just wanna run around without thinking and want to have that "insurance" for the end , then use NOED.

No need for a buff because you want it.

I still don't agree with it countering DS. You'd have to let them live till the end, using remember me with it would already have the obsession use it due to an extra hit equaling another token. Plus...survivors can use ds without being the obsession, rancor does not counter it.

It is a counter to DS because you wouldn't pick them up after downing them, you'd just leave them there. If you have Remember Me it gets even better because you can keep hitting them, never picking them up means they can never USE their D-Strike and that's a counter because you can Mori them at the end. Yeah, you never get your full amount of hooks but you don't usually get your full amount every game.

  • Oh that's cool, reset all the chests and give them a proximity Plunderer's Instinct. Even if the killer knew where all the boxes were he wouldn't know which one but he would damn sure hope it's in the basement. I hope they see this because it sounds like the fairest way to solve the issue.

  • At first it sounds like a good idea but this cancels out Borrowed Time, if you're SWF you wouldn't need to kick but if you're all solo you have no idea if someone has BT so if you think your buddy is making a bad save and you kick him then you screwed yourself out of a BT save and got that guy and yourself killed for nothing.

  • Yeah, I wrote this solution on another topic and I could not remember what I said in the other one so I probably left something out on this one that I made. Yeah I mean the Survivor go over to the hatch and press the button opening the hatch and blip they're gone. Even if the killer gets a hit when they press that button they still get away, Save The Best For Last won't help because the Survivor just gets away, period. It forces more chases as they GO FOR the hatch instead of waiting for them AT the Hatch.

I just had an image of trapper spawled out on bedsheets with a trap set down on his crotch.

    Thank you title

I think the perk could work as long as it trapped the rescuer not the saved.

That sounds fair, even if the killer did camp the Basement the entire 30 seconds the person who got hooked wouldn't be punished for being in a situation they didn't ask for. And once again if the Killer acts like a tool and camps for 30 seconds he still gets hurt on Gens because the whole point of the perk is trapping people in and temporarily eliminate a player from the game.

  • When I saw a Dwight complain about lockers I didn't think it would be about this, pleasantly surprised.

  • Killers should not have to slug to get the 4k, that says that Survivors are entitled to the Hatch because the Killer and Survivor knows that when they are the last Survivor they win, hands down they win, no skill required. You want 4k then slug because if you don't slug and you just kill then that Survivor gets out, why do they get out? Why should they just get out?

    Why?

  • @Avariku said:
how would this not just hand the hatch standoff to the killer?

what's keeping the killer from camping the chest?

how is this not catering to the killer who couldn't be bothered to slug the second to last survivor?

How can the Killer camp a chest that was randomly spawned? They don't know where it is, aren't there 3 chests normally? Oh look I found a 4th chest and it's opened, or was it a normal chest, do they have the key already or are they still looking for the right chest?

Also, they can camp the hatch but because there is no Hatch grab the Survivor can run up to the killer, get hit, use the key and get in. If the Killer just stands there trying to bait them or if they get there first it does not matter because in that scenario there is no Hatch grab, the Killer cannot win the scenario when the Survivor finds the key unless they catch Survivor before they get to the hatch.

  • A lot of you people are saying just let them get the hatch, they stayed alive through the whole match so they win, stop complaining, etc. Your opinion is on the Survivor side only, as a Survivor on the hatch standoff it's boring as hell because you can't escape and the killer is not going to leave until he gets you or you get out so not much you can do except juke him. As a killer you're trying to kill everyone and when you get to that hatch standoff it's boring because if you move you don't get the kill and you look like a try hard for wanting that 4k when there is NOTHING WRONG with getting a 4k.

The point is it is boring for both sides, Survivors ARE NOT entitled the Hatch, Killers ARE NOT entitled to a 4k so saying anything relating to that is stupid and makes you sound privileged. This game is about skill and the Hatch has no skill, therefore, it is a broken easy escape.

My suggestion for a fix---Survivors are looking for the Hatch if they did not already know where it is so since they are sneaking around anyway what if the Hatch always needs a key? When the Hatch spawns a chest also spawns in that has the key to open it. The catch is this only happens if there is one Survivor left and at least 2 Gens have been done, just like normal. Any other time you would need to randomly find a Skeleton key or bring a key in with you so it isn't overpowered.

The game changes to a hide and seek instead of a race, if you find the chest and get the key without being seen then the Killer has failed in his quest and the Survivor has to find the Hatch and escape, if they find the Hatch BAM automatic get out of jail free card, no hatch grab. That escape was earned and then some.

  • Thanatophobia is the fear of death so it still working after a Survivor has died actually makes sense because someone just died, which is their fear with this perk.

  • I don't think Legion should have an addon to see people Mending because it defeats the purpose of their own power which is to make them bleed out or burden them with a distraction. But then again, if you hit all 4 or even just two you'll be going after one of them so seeing where that person is is still useful.

  • Every Killer unless they use Hillbilly, Leatherface, now Nurse would intentionally need to use things to instadown people, but those things would be addons and perks, you need to buy those you need to plan for these things and if you don't plan properly you'll have both or one get out if you camp the basement.

  • I get that it could lead to a huge snowball of everyone dying in the Basement but what if it was a one time trap like Bloodwarden is? The Killer could wait all 30 seconds up there, basically camping while the other two get Gens done and when the bars are gone you can get one MAYBE two downs and go back into the basement but it never happen again. Also you can really only get two kills down there IF you use Hillbilly or Leatherface because they have the Instadowns while everyone else needs to land 4 hits at the situation.

If people want the game to be scary it's gonna need to be changed very frequently because you'll just get used to it and it will no longer be scary.

This would be terrible! it gives almost unlimited potential to killers like cannibal, billy and huntress.

Territorial Imperative gives you an indication when someone goes down there and aura of that person, that with Billy and Leatherface is awesome yet no one complains about that. Also you named all the Killers who are already the epic masters of the basement so also not much of a game changer since they don't even need perks. Yes I get that you're saying that with this you can always ambush everyone down there but you can always do that anyway with those killers you mentioned.

I can totally agree with the Survivor having better chase music, I'm mostly just trying to say we need more music, scarier tense music.

Well the survivor music is 10/10. As long as no tracks are replaced I’m ok with it. But I’d like some sinister tracks to play for the killer. I think that’s why Myers is so enjoyable to play.

Exactly my point! Myers is enjoyable to play and run from because of his special sinister music.

NO! The soundtrack is fanstastic. They need to add MORE. The survivor’s have good atmospheric music, the problem is that the killer has very little in that soundtrack department.

I really wish that the survivor chase music music was shared with the killer.

I can totally agree with the Survivor having better chase music, I'm mostly just trying to say we need more music, scarier tense music.

DBD is not a scary game

unless myers just comes out of thin air then that will scare the hell out of you

Every time, in the beginning, I was terrified of Wraith but Myers is above all in the terror factor.

  • So your idea to add more things for Survivors to do and stop Gen rushing is to ######### the killer up with troll effects, which only help Survivors get more points and leave the killer depipping.

  • I'm actually trying a new build on my Pig, Ruin, Remember Me, Rancor, and i'm currently looking for a 4th perk. Basically I hit my Obsession but don't hook or trap them till there's 1 Gen left, when it pops I can either Mori them or look for the others while they're distracted by their trap.
