Honestly, BBQ & Chili should not have been a LF perk.
1) Survivors do not have to pay for their post-game Bloodpoint multiplier perk (We're Gonna Live Forevor)
2) The perk doesn't suit Leatherface. He belongs up close and personal to hooked survivors, preferably in the basement with Insidious. He has no need to find new survivors when one is already hooked

I derank by disconnecting quite a bit at the start of each rank reset because if I don't I literally can't play the game by ranking up too fast as killer. It sucks that I have to do it but my options are risk getting banned or have no job.Yeah, that's a load of horse #########.
There are plenty of killers and survivors that stream exclusively in the red ranks. Some of them are bigger than you. If you have "no job" from playing killer at the top ranks then that has less to do with the queue times and more to do with the quality of entertainment you provide. The queues occasionally become bugged, yes, but for the most part I'm waiting less than 5-10 minutes for a game at Rank 1 killer even at the dead-ends of the night/morning.
Fun Fact: League queues at the top ranks are about a thousand times worse than DBD queues even when the matchmaking is bugged, yet top ranked LoL streamers consistently have the most viewers. Could it be that the top streamers are capable of entertaining their viewers between queues and that the streamer's gameplay is good enough to make them want to stick around?
-
Too bad your friend wasn't a streamer. They might have rewarded him with a "Fog Whisperer" partnership for his disconnecting instead.

Why dh is there new a survivor perk with that abbreviation now -
The killer should not kill anyone until everyone has been hooked twice. Then the survivors all die on their 3rd hook. So that there is a total of 12 hooks that need to be performed by the killer for the 4 kill.
But keep it at needing 2-5 generators completed for escape. Because that's fair. Also, don't touch my get out of jail for free perks like DS and DH and BT and SC and Adrenaline. Because 12 chances isn't enough for the survivor team.
-
Camping, tunneling, and mori'ing is part of the game lol you can't complain about it i mean ######### dude.

I'm on red ranks now and i remembered why I don't like to be there: Tunnelers, sweaty killers with ebony mori, people who facecamps you for "looping them" or "stunning them" or "tbagging"As for tbagging... you can dish out BM but can't handle being BM'd back?
Sounds like a typical survivor main. -
Just to reiterate the original point... the dream world is when he should be his strongest. Freddy is always in his dream world. Why does the world make Freddy it's ######### and not the other way around?
BECAUSE of his power (which allows him to become a basic mouse 1 killer after a 7 second delay) he has a harder time finding Survivors than other killers. That is a problem.
MAYBE it should be foggy for the survivors, but it should be normal for Freddy like any other killer, if not more clear.

We're Gonna Live Forever- allows you to lift and walk with a survivor in a dying state
- saving a Dead Hard also adds a charge
Dead Hard
- if the skill hurts the killer, he stuns him for some time (can be used as a stun pallet)
No Mither
- you can move with a trap in your leg
- there is a 10% chance to avoid hitting damage
1) No
2) Why would you use any other Exhaustion skill over DH which is already the meta?
3) Not only do you neglect entire killer powers, you have an RNG get out of jail card on what is SUPPOSED TO BE a "hard mode" perk, why?In summary, you have a hard on for David. That's understandable, we all do deep down inside. It's nice and all, but keep it to yourself please.

How is a giant team of developers not able to buff freddy within 2 weeks of work?
I'll tell you, they didn't even begin working on it, because they have 90% of the devs working on dlcs....What the hell makes you think DBD is comprised of a "giant team of developers"???
This isn't Riot Games we're talking about here. This isn't Epic Games. Or EA or Activision or Ubisoft. If I had to guess, BHVR is much closer in size to (what was) Telltale Games, who just went under. -
Nurse. The answer is always "Nurse".
-
The problem with shapeshifting, like most good ideas in the game, is that voice comm'd SWF would completely neuter it from the start.
I think another big thing that DBD Freddy is missing is teleporting... He was an immaterial, tormentor in the movies. Not only could he could teleport around at will, he could phase through walls in the dream world.
There was a theory before his release that he'd be able to teleport between lockers... While that wouldn't help him much in chases and it would be outright terrible on certain maps, I think being able to briefly phase through a wall would be fitting and powerful. But then again, we all know how many bugs something like that would introduced (see: how bugged Nurse's blinks were for years, I don't think the map's terrain is designed with that in mind).
-
Make Rule Set No. 2 base.
Make popping generators advance the timer on all active RBTs by 15-20 seconds, making them more consistent with the themes of the movie series.Honestly, RBT kills SHOULD be viable. I know, I know "they're meant to stall the survivors". But WHY? Amanda didn't run around stabbing folks with the retractable blade (she herself never used it in the movies). The traps are what made the movie series unique, and that's what should have defined her in this game, not some generic crouch/lunge attack that really could have gone on just about any killer.

"jUsT bReAk ThE pAlLeT"

No but seriously, if no one ever complained about anything in this game, we'd still have infinite loops with no window blockers or bloodlust, instant decisive strike on all 4 survivors, machinegun build, a hag that stuns herself after every teleport, a Freddy that could maybe kill brain dead survivors, an Iron Grasp that literally takes you from one side of the map to the basement on the other side, a sabotaged map with no hooks except in the basement, instant moris, instant BNPs, etc, etc.
-
I will say this... don't get your hopes up when it comes to the rework. Look at the previous work on killers they've done that they've called a "rework".
1) Hag, they took away her ridiculous self-stun every time she teleported to a trap
2) Doctor, they made some of his addons part of his base kit and gave him the ability to interrupt vaults/pallet throws
3) Wraith, did some weird crap with his uncloaking speed and gave him bloodhound as his base kit
4) Wraith again, undid previous rework and gave him the previous Windstorm as his base kitBased on previous results, I expect them to maybe undo some of the nerfs ( that they hastily announced a week after his release then implemented a week later), adding some of the addons to his base kit, and reworking some of his other addons.
In other words, don't expect a completely new power.
-
Because Totems were always a bad concept from the start. If they always spawned far away from the survivors then they'd know to just go to the opposite side of the map from where they spawned to find it. If it always spawned next to the killer then survivors would just check near where the first survivor was chased. If Totems were never near generators then that's one less place to check (though, yes, it spawning less than 2 meters away is just unacceptable).
NOED is the only hex perk that makes sense imo, and even then if it spawns right next to an exit gate or one of the last gens it's just awful.
Totems were the start of the ridiculous slide into an absurd amount of RNG that took over this game.

It always bothers me when people act like they are.Oh yes, of coarse it wasn't if you enjoyed being looped for 4 gens followed by the tbagging at the gates at rank 1/against any half competent group of survivors. I've heard that masochism/humiliation are quite lucrative kinks.
And that has nothing to do with the stun time. Not a good counter point.
It most definitely does. If you respect every pallet/don't swing through them then you will lose a lot of time vs anyone who recognizes it. You will be stunned against someone who knows how to loop, a lot. The more time you spend stunned and breaking pallets, the more time they will have to find safe pallets and the longer you will be looped.
Thus why Enduring is meta and, formerly, Brutal Strength.
-

Brutal Strength wasn't really nerfed. I've heard it's break speed is about the same that it's always been. Shifting the power out of the perk and into the base kit of the killer.

I just get sick of being at rank 6 and getting nothing but swf matches. Since i can't rank reset and don't feel like making a 2nd account for fun games. There isn't a perkless mode out there either yet. I just think swf should be grouped by campfire closer together. Cause im at the point of asking people if there swf and if get no response don't ready up and leave. I don't like being teabagged as killer cause very unimmersive. I would even put on a pointless perk to stop crouching while in a chase. Insidious facecamping could work but that playstyle makes me sick. Swf just really make me hate this game i love.I just have no solution i would like out there. How do you deal personally with swf?
so you can just run away from every lobby with one and make it to where playing with friends isnt fun? sure this can be added when we can see the killer, killer add-ons, and the killers offering.
Huge false equivalency and not conducive to the conversation. No one is asking to see the survivor's item quality, add-ons, and offerings. If you'd like to make that argument then please make your own thread as it has nothing to do with this one.
most killers put on ebony mori or will put on ultra rare add-ons if they think they are going against swf. also what i sugested had something to with this thread because i said that it would have to be added before this thing was added so stop being toxic and just accept the fact that you will never truly know if your going against a swf group
I think you need to re-examine your definition of "most" because "most" killers don't have ebony moris to spare on every SWF game because 1) that's 7k bloodpoints down the drain for the mori alone 2) even pretending one shows up on every level 50+ bloodweb that's another 40k~, and 3) unlike survivors, killers do not get to keep their ultra-rare addons after the game regardless of how well they played. You'd have maybe realized this if you put a few hours into Killer or simply tried to look at the situation from both perspectives.
Furthermore, if you'd just took a minute to glance at the post directly above your original reply you'd have realized that I'm against an indicator for SWF groups. But perhaps you're just intentionally misrepresenting my argument? It honestly would not surprise me at this point.

I'm on the fence about this.
On one hand, this game was not balanced with SWF in mind and it's plain as day. Hell, some perks just outright don't work when voice com is factored in.
On the other hand, this game probably would not have survived as long as it has without SWF. Watching casuals play SWF (who only want to play some games with their friends) then watching high ranked survivors in SWF who actually know what they're doing is night-and-day. A completely different game. An indicator would likely result in a metric ton of dodges by Killers, which would be off-putting to both new comers and veterans. You would see a hell of a lot more deranking by survivors to get paired with Killers who aren't in-the-know of the cancer that is SWF... thus making it even more off-putting to new Killers.
I think the solution would be to give in-game voice chat to all survivors by default then buff the killers to balance around it. SWF isn't going anywhere and this game can never be properly balanced until voice chat is factored in to the decision making.
-
How are people still complaining about No Mither in 2018? Like, how?
Yes, it's a bad perk. That's the freaking point. It's "Hard Mode" for survivors that CAN lead to some interesting builds that are still pretty bad. -
Like others have said, pallet looping and gen rushing.
Great, he can see the aura of survivors he put to sleep if they're outside of his terror radius... When is this actually useful? I guess if he loses a chase, but nobody actually tries to lose chases they just pallet loop to waste as much of the killer's time as possible. Maybe if he put multiple survivors to sleep then chases one? But the ones that he wasn't chasing will have been long out of the dream world by the time he hits a survivor twice, picks them up, and hooks them.
-
Eh? Honestly I think 2.2.0 introduced some nice variety for killers. Like you said, BBQ and Enduring are always going to be a staple until they add a different post-game BP multiplayer / looping + DS becomes less cancer, but having 2 staple perks on most killers (Enduring on Nurse is next to useless) isn't the worst thing in the world.
Still, the buffed Sloppy Butcher is strong and has found it's way into the meta. May be even stronger after the healing changes.
Then there's Spirit Fury, which joins Bamboozled, Enduring, and Brutal Strength in combating looping. Obviously you're not going to take all 4, since you'll probably want room for BBQ, so there's variety in choice. And, of coarse there's still perks like Whispers, Ruin, and Nurse's Calling which are always nice and the Killer dependent perks like Distressing Doc, M&A Myers, and Shadowborne Nurse.
Overall, I think there's a lot of good meta perks and room for variety for Killers. Some people absolutely swear by Ruin, some don't. Loadouts beyond BBQ and Enduring are mostly preference. What they need to be working on is fixing the core mechanics of Killers / Survivors.
PS: You're also missing a lot of common meta perks for Survivor. Adrenaline, Borrowed Time, We'll Make It (even stronger next patch), Urban Evasion, and WGLF, etc, etc.
-
Honestly, I would settle just for him receiving an audio+visual cue when his chainsaw is fully charged (maybe a distinct grunt+the whitening of the sides of the screen like with what the Nurse has). There are times when you need to get the chainsaw off as soon as it comes up, but if the little bar in the bottom is just a pixel off you just set yourself back by a lot.
Besides, staring at a tiny bar at the bottom of your screen while trying to keep up with a chase seems counter-intuitive. I've played him since release and STILL screw it up.
-
I agree with all of your points except lack of content.
After watching Telltale Games go under, I'm going to start cutting BHVR a bit more slack. They're not the largest developer in the world and from what I can tell Dead by Daylight is currently their only real money maker, especially after Death Garden hard-flopped. It makes sense for them to put more focus on cosmetics than they previously had. I'd hate to see DBD meet an early grave, despite how much ######### I usually give the devs.
-
For the same reason they nerfed Brutal Strength / buffed base pallet breaking speed instead of just buffing Brutal Strength.
If they just buffed Enduring it would make it even more of a required perk than it already is when like 90% of "serious" builds already run it, thus killing potential for more loadout varieties.

Yes, I'm well aware I can just hit them and move on to the next game. I can also DC every time the survivors spawn on top of my totem. I can derank endlessly to go smack up rank 15s. I can run a 4 man SWF all with 4 crutch "get out of jail for free" perks over voice coms. I can stare endlessly into the void or give the last survivor a free escape even though I so clearly outplayed him and his entire team while he just sat in a corner waiting for the hatch to open.
Does not make it any less of a bull ######### mechanic.

Just... stop. Everyone else has already addressed the other dumb claims you've made but I had to chime in on this point.
PS: even in your scenario of Leatherface hard camping Nea, a save is still possible so long as you have 3 members. One takes the chainsaw, the other makes the save during the chainsaw recovery. It's a trade. It may not be the trade you like as a survivor but why aren't you pushing gens or leaving through the exit gates while this is happening? In the case of not having 3 members for this, it's become a free hatch escape.

That's honestly what they need to do. Get rid of the cooldown and let her charge her power while moving. Then lower her to Nurse speed. Make her basically HAVE to use her power to get a hit, like a different flavor of Nurse.
Both would be high skillcap / low skill floor Killers. Except she can be juked in different ways (standing still, crouching, doubling back, etc) as opposed to Nurse and still suffers from the weakness of having to obey the laws of terrain / pallets / windows. Upside would be that she doesn't suffer from fatigue and obviously she has the whole invisibility thing going for her until the survivors notice her jet engine sounds.
-
Long answer: Looping requires zero perk investments from Survivors whereas historically Killers have always had to take Brutal Strength, or Enduring, or Bamboozle, or the Machinegun build, or a combination of all of the above to combat loops.
Believe me when I say that Survivors do not need to start getting perks to help them further with looping.

Wow. Someone who actually thinks that "endgame is fine". I legit haven't seen that before.
Anywho, I don't think I know of any game with a ranking system where people systemically try to de-rank. That's how bad it is. The queue times at rank 1 are atrocious because no one wants to be there, there is no incentive to it. Ranking up only results in longer queue times and more cancerous games.
You can scream "but the challenge is the reward!!!1!" until your lungs are blue, it won't change the fact that a large number of players find that inadequate to the point of purposefully deranking, ruining the ranked system for everyone from rank 1 to 15. Exclusive skins for placing rank 1-5 at the end of a 2-3 month season would be nice, but I'd settle for even just Iridescent Shards. Just... anything really.
-
You do not need to be away a while to become worse in comparison to your competition and metas do not require patches to change.
-
Orrr.... they could just fix ranked so that people actually want to rank up? No other game that I can think of has this problem. There is no incentive for ranking up, it only results in longer queue times and more cancerous games. Make the seasons longer and give an exclusive cosmetic or even just some Iridescent Shards for ending the season in a high rank.
I don't like your idea because 1) people do get worse at the game, especially when the meta changes, and would therefor be stuck in a rank that isn't appropriate for them and 2) anyone can get to the red ranks if given enough time. If a bad player is stuck at rank 5 forever then that is bad for everyone involved.
-
Sounds like more of a problem with the ranking system than anything. People generally want to get the highest rank possible and watch other play at the highest level in other games. There's simply no rewards to do so in this game and it only results in longer queue times / more cancer games.
Make the ranked seasons longer and reward players who are in the red ranks at the end of it either with exclusive cosmetics or something as simple as iridescent shards. Then the queue times at high ranks will fix themselves and more streamers will play at them.
-
It can be fun if you get a favorable map / clueless survivors. But at the end of the day, it's still the Wraith and no add-ons can fix that. If the survivors know what they're doing you're going to have a bad time.
-
It will probably never be meta.
It's weak as a tracking perk (outclassed by Tinkerer, Bitter Murmurs, and ofc BBQ&Chili and Whispers).
It's pretty much a weaker NOED end game that only activates on a single survivor. What happens if the Obsession has been playing like a dumbass despite being able to track the killer and gets killed before exit gates are open? Now you just have a neutered Bitter Murmurs. -
Idk I'm getting pretty quick queues for killer rank 1-5. Like, less than 2 minutes.
Maybe if they'd incentivize ranking up and made the top ranks less cancer for all but 2 killers then less people would feel the need to derank / only come back when new killers are released in hopes that they'll finally release another competitive one. -
BBQ has a secondary component because if it were strictly used for BP gain then no killer in his right mind would remove 1/4th of his perks for it while trying to rank up (we are, in theory, supposed to be trying to rank up, right?).
If someone takes WGLF then that's only 1/16th of the survivor team's perks.
While I agree the tokens should be more easily obtainable (the current requirements assume that a killer is doing well enough that there are plenty of unhooks to go around), a secondary effect is unnecessary. Perhaps make consistently hitting great skillchecks be a trigger for a token? Or repairing the equivalent of a full generator?
-
Nah. All the other killers just need a buff to movement speed. It would (slightly) bring them more in line with Nurse + Billy's map pressure. The reason why Billy and Nurse aren't dumpstered on at Rank 1 is because they can exert map pressure, they can end chases quickly, they can patrol gens better, and they can get in another chase soon after they've hooked someone, mitigating the good ole "gen rush" (ie, survivors knowing what they're doing and not screwing around on dull totems/crouched in a corner).
An overall movespeed buff for all killers has been long overdue. People are tired of seeing only Nurse and Billy at Rank 1 but nobody is willing to accept drastic changes for the other killers.
-
In all seriousness, the movement speed is also what I'd look at first. Her power just outright is not on the same level as Hag's, Huntress', and Nurse's powers. There isn't much reason for her to be slower than other killers with a standing charge time + 20 second cooldown.
Hell, compare her to Billy who has better crossmap mobility, doesn't have to stand still to charge his power, doesn't have a real cooldown on his saw, has an instadown, and, of coarse, moves at normal speed.
Yes, I know, Billy + Nurse are ridiculous (though if people are so tired of only playing against those 2 at high ranks, shouldn't they want another killer that can compete with them?), but I think she can afford to be given a normal movement speed so her chases aren't so mind-numbling bad once she's already used her power.

and if you ever managed to get blood lust 3 on somebody then you clearly were wasting to much time trying to do a mind game that wasnt workingYes, yes. Stupid me. How dare I chase a survivor through an infinite. Next time I see a survivor head to a pair of god windows I'll just go ######### off on the other side of the map. Because there's absolutely nothing wrong design wise of having areas of the map that survivors can run to knowing they're 100% safe.
Bloodlust was always a bandaid fix for poor map design. The thing is they haven't fixed the problem, they've just made it RNG based if most of the infinites will spawn or not, as if getting screwed over by RNG is any more satisfying.
