It looks really out of place on every map except for Raccoon Police Dept.
Maybe if the houses in Garden & Haddonfield weren't so doggone dark, then they wouldn't need the yellow markers. Seriously the dark houses are annoying, brighten it up a little please BHVR.

All you have to do is escape the chase, it says nothing about not getting caught 5 seconds later. ๐
If you really want to, you can hop into a locker at a jungle gym after getting hit/making distance, and wait for the chase to expire. Yes, that would be throwing the game.
If you want some actual advice, Quick & Quiet is your best bet, because rushed locker entry is one of the things that the perk suppresses. I'd recommend pairing it with Lucky Break or fully committing to lockers and using Deception or Head-On too. You can also get chased for a few seconds while the attention is on somebody else, and try a locker right before the chase ends.
-
I use Prove Thyself primarily for the bloodpoints. I'm not trying to downplay the perk's potential, but the points really are the main reason.
Being able to reliably fill all 8000 of your Objective from 1 plus (less than half) a gen feels great, and really makes me feel more comfortable having more points and then being free to get more rescues or take time being chased.
also DH totally is better, has more potential and everyone uses it. It's even got a presence when nobody is using it, just like old DS
-
I like the pre-rework Jake picture, I hope I can keep it.
-
After the rework I think it's slightly more difficult, but a winnable map as Killer. I'd rather have it than Mother's Dwelling, or Badham
-
7 co-op generators was more time consuming, because of bad luck and even worse teammates. Took me like 8 games.
But I agree, making the number higher does not make it a better challenge, just artificial difficulty.
-
That Jeff, Jake are bi, Yui is lesbian. (David used to be bi but now has a canon sexuality so it feels weird)
Ghostface did research on the Entity, and tried to join that ancient cult when he did those murders.
Ace is really good at fishing, like that one outfit suggests, and Adam is a DnD nerd.
Mikaela is somehow related to Arnold from The Magic School Bus.
-
Trapper as long as it's a section with traps prepared. The survivors can Dead Hard through one trap, if they even want to use it there instead of avoiding an M1 hit.

You forgot the Viper RTS charm that you have to use the "secret" code to get
It requires one of the Silent Hill characters to unlock, but it wasn't initially what I meant. I'll add it to the list because it does see a more use.

Doing gens is how survivors win the game. It's the killers job to stop them. There is no such thing as a genrush.
Ok but you know what I mean. Survivors who use offerings are more likely to be playing with others, and more likely to do the objective fast and efficiently. Especially knowing the map thanks to an offering, and can formulate a plan sooner.

I dunno, it still seems like people are putting it in a lot of builds even when they're trying extremely hard to win. I see it a LOT on Doctor and honestly I don't really see the synergy, and that's coming from someone who plays a lot of Doctor.
Doctor is actually one of the killers I use the perk on. Just the fact that M1 is the only way to do damage means you'll always be getting value out of it (unless you're on the obsession)
One thing to do is Static Blast, smack somebody once to get another token, then go after a different survivor located with it. And with the perk, you do that all faster.

Yeah I get how to play effectively on it. But I don't want to play that map all day lol. I literally got that map 5 times in a row and at that point I felt like I had to use map offerings to get another map. I'd rather have random maps
Did the map odds change already? I thought that was once the anniversary event started.
-
If anything, I think it's a fairly rated perk. I like to use it on M1 killers still, it can be a very nice QoL perk.
Like 2 years ago when Otzdarva loving STBFL and recommending it in every build was a bit of a meme, maybe then you could make a case for it being overrated.
-
They're undeniably toxic. If somebody uses an offering, it's because they know what they're doing and hope to have something that suits their build. Survivors are more likely to genrush, and killers will probably have an obnoxious build suited to indoor maps.
I only use them for "fall from a great height X amount of times while being chased by the killer" challenges.
-
The trick to Dead Dawg is to save the main building for last so that the killer has to trek all the way up there if they hope to defend it. Besides that, you just have to space your gens and not get 3-genned along the row of houses and/or watertower.
For killer, do the opposite and try to get a 3-gen there.

What charms do you usually see with the auric cell charm?
Here's the order I see them from most to least.
- Pride charm
- Auric Cell charm (it's bright and glows, and not time-limited. You just have to buy some from the store at least once)
- any Tier 70 Rift charm (usually the more recent ones, but the Blood Moon and the Nectar Vial are popular ones. Generally, anything that glows or moves)
- DLC-related charm like the Puzzlebox from Pinhead or Silent Hill charm
- the chibi 3d-figures of killers & survivors
- Event related charms, like winter holiday or new year's
- everything else
90% of the time, it's the first three. Nobody really cares about charms, me included (except the pride flag). I think BHVR should either tone it down in the Rifts, or overhaul how they're displayed to other people. I have 16 pages of charms rn.
-
You're right, I do see a surprising amount of people using the Auric Cell charm tbh. I'm not proud of spending money on in-game currency usually.
I only use the pride flag on survivors because all the others look odd just hanging from the belt. But for killers I use a wide variety of charms that match their lore, not just the shiny ones.
-
There's too much variation for a reliable tierlist. I'd put Ash, Bill, Quentin, and Jeff in high tier because they're so rarely played, most people who intentionally choose them are more skilled.

Yes. Any character even Stranger Things
Thank you for the answer!
-
Is there a single killer power that uses the E key yet? Just have it be chosen when you use it, like Dead Hard and Blast Mine. Then change how the tokens are earned, and I think you'd be good to go.
Pressing the button to toggle it on/off, I can't imagine that's OP, since one would still have to gain the tokens for the perk.
-
The baseball bat weapon. There's a wooden one, a metal one, and a wood with nails in it.
It looks sick AF, and it's only a green rarity so it's relatively cheap.

Ryan is great character but he is more like villain. Elizabeth is better choice for survivor.
As cool as Elizibeth is, all of the player characters in Bioshock are too badass to be downgraded to survivors imo. I think it should be some unexpected pick like Sinclair, Mark Meltzer, or even Tenenbaum from the 2nd game.
But yeah we all know it'd be Elizabeth because of all the 1080 Auric Cell outfits they'd sell
-
I've got lots of ideas for this, because Bioshock is one of my most wanted chapters. It would probably be a Bouncer, since it's the most iconic, using the drill dash similar to Hillbilly or Oni charging. When Billy got nerfed, people were joking about having to collect gas cans from lockers to use the chainsaw, but imagine something not too far off.
There could be some secondary power, like collecting ADAM with a little sister you get from a vent and increasing in strength. Because we all know BHVR loves to add killer specific props to the maps, and these were pretty commonly seen in the source material.
Plus there's a lot of outfit possibilities. The Rosie, Rumbler, Lancer, Alpha Series, and the Elite version of those.
-
One thing's for sure, Hopper deserves that survivor spot. Eddie can be a Steve skin or something.
-
Apparently the reward isn't going to a charm, so that really has me wondering what it could be, if it does end up applying to licensed characters.
-
I made a post months ago about Fearmonger being a really good perk. I don't expect anyone to remember that so I'll just say the main argument.
The main point I made was that it was definitely in the top 3 of free killer perks. Only thing that would beat it imo is Sloppy Butcher (after Mangled debuff change) and Tinkerer.
Imagine you have no DLC and only free perks, what else are ya gonna use? Deerstalker?
-
Geez, I sure hope so. Hopper would be a better survivor than Steve don't @ me. Especially if he could wear that tropical shirt he had during parts of season 3.
-
This makes me wonder which Left 4 Dead maps could be cropped and fit into DBD.
-
I think they should change the spawn to be after all 5 gens are done, or if there's 1 survivor left like it is currently. That way the dreaded 3-gen hatch escape is still avoided, but it's not completely useless.
-
As bad as the Blood Debt challenge is, I think the stun challenge is the worst. In later levels they pump up the number to an absurd amount, to the point where it's faster to do 2-3 Killer challenges to select a different Survivor challenge.
I frequently get to the point where I'm all out of Killer challenges and have like 6 uncomplete Survivor challenges on a Tome because they're all luck based or time consuming.
-
I'll leave my question here for the sake of saving space, but is this reward also going to be obtainable for licensed killers and survivors?
-
I don't know if it's a fair comparison besides being horror and multiplayer, but it looks fun.
I wish I could afford to buy games as they release, even if it's not the standard $60 like most new releases.
also the fact that it's not on Steam is probably hampering some of it's potential.
-
I'm gonna go with Jonah as the rarest for me, because I feel like paid, $10+ skins are not a fair comparison.
Poor Jonah was released with an exhaustion perk that wasn't Dead Hard, a useless boon, and a training wheels perk. I never see him used. Tapp is also pretty rare but he's got the advantage of time + better perks.
-
I've always wanted a Pharmacy for flashlights, and I'm glad that there's finally something like that.
The rummage vs initial search isn't what matters, though it's cool that both can be used at once bc of that. Pharmacy will be better because it's a green medkit.
-
The city of Rapture, because a Bioshock chapter is probably my most wanted DLC for this game. Just imagine the creepy ambiance being under the ocean and all the fish swimming by.
-
Yeah that can be true, but they're also a great source of bloodpoints. They increase in value as you collect more in a match, and you can get a lot of bonus bloodpoints.
-
I do like that they're slowly improving each Tome, the originals were a little bit lifeless.
Unrelated but also, people making YTPs and sentence-mixing the Archives narrator is an untapped goldmine of memes.
-
Another thing making me want a Bioshock chapter for this game eventually
-
What happens if a survivor gets hit with a bear trap with Honing Stone? DireCrows from the Artists and other ranged attacks?
Does it just start the mori immediately if the killer walks within a certain distance of the last dying survivor?

They still don't look like supermodels.
Yun-Jin is a Kpop producer and former artist herself. Kate is a country singer, Jane is a talk show host. Multiple of theirs and Elodie's outfits include dresses, makeup, or descriptions of interviews and social events. The average person can't relate as well to that.
-
Buffing the weak stuff is the way to do it. Not nerfing the only strong things.
-
The Wraith looks kind of like that other character from Monster Prom.
-
This Oni skin looks very cool. I did think it was Trapper at first though ๐
-
I'm glad we get a woman survivor who doesn't look like a supermodel. Been a while since the last one/there aren't as many
-
No, trade RPD for getting Hawkins back
-
Halloween and Winter yes. Other times, not really.
-
There's this really old Vsauce video I remember about things being creepy, where they mention clowns being scary because of the makeup/mask hiding the true identity, face, and expressions. A sort of uncanny valley type of fear.
Clowns have been deemed scary in media for generations, but I'd definitely attribute some of that to Garcy as well. I'm a fan of DBD Clown, I think he has one of the best written backstories, and more realistic than some.
After all, what's more scary than something closer to reality?

I love it thanks bro
No problem. Happy to help.

Depends on what killer I'm playing. If it's one I'm only doing for a challenge or daily, I may dodge, but I try to avoid that. Or I'll put on green addons instead of the usual brown/yellows.
If it's a killer I regularly play, then I'll accept the challenge. Devour Hope is a mainstay in several of my builds, so I usually gamble in my matches anyway.
-
For some reason the new Haddonfield reminds me of a Fortnite location, and I'm not joking. It's gonna take some time getting used to the more open feel.
