Two Halloween outfits have been unveiled in the trailer for the update, and there's a tag next to them that says they're limited outfits. Presumably, they will be outfits that cost money, but also leave the store after the Halloween season ends.
Last year, the Stranger Things DLC was removed and they made a sale on all related items. Even with a discount, it was still pricy to get all the outfits, and some people did so just because they wouldn't be able to obtain them in the future.
Those are the major things people point to with FOMO, but there's also the Rift/Battlepass that very slowly releases skins after the end, so people could still call it FOMO.

they'll probably tell you it's because of the stupid achievement bhvr added that requires you to escape on rpd 20 times.
do people not realize they'll eventually get this done by playing normally?.
do they think getting the achievement is gonna grant them a million dollars or something??
"Playing normally" is kind of a stretch in this case. Because you also need to be the one to open the gates and escape through them. That, coupled with the 20 times makes it need grinding, otherwise you'd never actually get it reasonably.
-
I hope there's one for Wraith that looks like a giant lollipop. That would be funny.
-
It's not an orange, grotesque mutation like Clown, Legion, or Blight so it's a little bit dissatisfying. The mask is cool, for sure.
Didn't get a good look at the weapon but if it's made out of a serum vial like all the others before it, that would make it better. The body is much simpler, like the Hag or Trapper's Blighted skin though, yeah.
-
Needing to stun the killer will increase the amount of Trickster & Huntress you see by 20%
Needing hook saves will make your team so good that the team escapes with the killer only getting 2 hooks all game
Needing to escape will make your teammates suddenly really bad.
-
Just like the days of old, when there were red ranks, rank doesn't matter it's just a reflection of how much you play.
Prestige level doesn't matter, it's just a reflection of how much you play. Granted, playing more means they have a higher chance of being a good player. But it's not a guarantee.

This is still hands down the worst designed achievement in the game, and the Devs should still be embarrassed that they allow it to persist.
I still think Left For Dead is worse designed ever since the Endgame Collapse. That, and Outbreak Breakout which is just asking for a lot.
Speaking of some tough achievements, the Devs changed the hatch achievements after keys were nerfed, and probably will if the Endgame Mori goes lives. I wonder if they'll ever nerf tombstone and what Evil Incarnate would be replaced by.
-
They might as well increase the FoV by default, because everybody would increase it to the max, as a greater FoV provides a bigger advantage.
That said, it would still be appreciated to have some kind of increase.
-
I made a post about it being underrated shortly after it was released (that was a year ago damn). It's pretty good even if I don't usually run it that often.
My favorite aspect is probably that you can be informed on the location of gens that you didn't even see previously. Making it a much better choice than Visionary, Situational Awareness/Better Together, or Deja Vu.
-
Free 1000 points. Get that bag and don't worry about what your team thinks.
-
Doesn't even have to be in a single trial. I don't like any of the stun challenges because it can often force you to play sub-optimally or hope that the killer plays a certain way.
-
Yes, yes, and yes.
It's been nearly a year, but I'm still convinced at least 66% of Mikaela players only ever played her because of the Boon meta.
-
Pretty common for people to assign tags to games that don't fit it.
Psychological Horror is usually the biggest example of the tags being misused. Or a meme-worthy game like Garfield Kart.

Same thing with tome challenges. You can get 95% as Killer by just playing the game normally. Yet on survivor side you basically have a grind fest or you have to throw games to get it done fast (at best)
What's wrong? You don't like to unhook someone who previously unhooked you 10 times? Or stunning the killer an insanely high number of times, or escaping through hatch specifically, or...
-
Wait you have to be the one to open the gate as well? That's terrible. Horrid, even.
I'm currently grinding the locker achievement and dreading the Boon Totem achievement because of how luck based and time consuming it is.
Took me a while to get Triage without specifically going for it. Luckily I already have every achievement from before Mikaela, because a lot of those old ones are BS too like Item of Obsession.
-
The 44% is good, and you lost me with all the other ideas. Just revert the part where it can be reused if the killer never activates the mine too.
-
For the endurance, it's barely longer than the BT we had in the past. As long as people actually used BT and didn't rely on the basekit. Plus it still gets deactivated so just go for the one not rescued. If they insist on body blocking, then smack 'em.
Interested to see if people can get creative with the speed boost though.
-
Game is already down the tubes if a teammate kills themselves with 5 generators remaining. Might as well get some points while I can.
-
Considering it would print its own money, I hope they'll add some of them. Dwight & Claudette's matching outfits at least.
-
That's good news to hear, I didn't want to risk losing any progress.
Makes you wonder why BHVR requires linking, when games like Team Fortress 2 had figured out cross-game rewards a decade ago.
-
There's no downside to more bloodpoints, I think this is an okay idea. Especially because it discourages the killer from tunneling.
-
It's an amazing perk. Despite using Bond frequently, I also use Aftercare pretty often.
If the only downside was removed, I think the perk might actually be OP, not gonna lie. It's surprisingly easy to get all of the tokens, and then you get infinite range, two-way aura reading.
It does deserve some kind of buff to make people use it more, though.
-
Needs to be a secondary action, or penalty removed entirely. Could just be M2 to quietly cleanse/search. M1 to do it like normal.
-
BT just extends the timer, and Guardian/Babysitter will give the rescued survivor another 7%. Yes it does stack
-
It's not bonus BP, it just fills the Objective category of points faster. Distressing, Thrill of the Hunt, and No One Left Behind also do similar things. You don't get more than the 10 thousand points in that category, you just reach it faster.
-
I had a teammate tonight who used the new Self-Care completely unaware of how much time it was eating. Lost us the match.
Most of my solo games where we lost, escape was within reach. So I think that it'll all settle after a few weeks once MMR kicks in or whatever.

Maybe, maybe not. But whether or not Open-Handed should get the buff (which I think would be okay) is irrelevant to the fact Lethal Pursuer did. Killer and survivor have a lot of differences and things will not translate evenly. On average, killer perks are meant to be better given there’s only up to 4 of them.
Good point, good point.
I suppose the only thing that connects the two is that they become dead perks if the player does not use them with other aura reading perks.
-
It was hard listing Buckle Up as an example with a straight face. That perk probably needs a buff more than Open Handed tbh
-
I like it better than the last Rift's level 70, the David head.
-
It's as much of a free escape as a survivor using no perks, in the healthy state. Unless the killer was using exposed perks.
At the very least, OTR still has its stealthy parts, so it might be worth running still. I was under the impression that the Endurance part was a total rework.
DS hasn't been good for like 2 years, so yeah definitely don't bother using it.
-
I've seen lots of people go after Prove Thyself over the years. With the bloodpoints per match being changed, and the generator changes, I think a lot more people will use the perk go after the perk. I hope it doesn't get a nerf.
-
I've seen 5 games with Pain Resonance today, so that's still a popular one for sure.
-
The Jonah outfit is pretty good all things considered, people just don't like him for some reason.
I'm a fan of the Jake, Clown, & Jeff outfits in the Rift, even though it's a recolor.
The only one I'm not that fond of is the Claudette one and maybe the Nurse
-
The Dredge outfit really stole the show. I don't really care about that nutcracker David or any of the other things in Set A. But A is better than B because of that Dredge.
-
Adam and Jeff deserve some story. They've had challenges in the Tomes but have not had their own stories. Similar thing happened with Zarina and Elodie
-
I'm a Trapper enjoyer, and the long range downing potential would be overtuned if Honing Stone came for free.
-
Making all chain blinks become special attacks is a good idea, I've seen that thrown around a few times. It's a start.
The whole fundamental design is a little too powerful though.
-
Plenty of people have mentioned it by now.
Still, Oni isn't as good a Blight even with this bug that's probably why it's been in the game for so long.
-
Legendary skins are basically freebies, because they cost a lot of money and are set locked. Majority of people don't think it's worth it
For actual survivors, ASh, Jeff, Jonah, Yoichi, and Tapp are pretty rare.

You were close, so for the effort, I give you half a virtual cookie 😋
Thanks for the cookie. I made my guess based on myself, because I'm devotion 7 and have a very close number to yours.

Better - how many hours would you assume i have if my devotion is 5?
I'm gonna guess around 1000 to 1120.

I miss when I was actually scared of everything.
I miss Hawkins even though I hated it.
I miss being new to the game.
I miss cleansing kit totems, something I hardly see killers use these days.
I miss when people would chat in the lobby.
That last one really got to me. Crossplay is great, but as a PC player it really killed the playerbase being talkative with their random teammates.

I think the fast and loose idea is, any cosmetics from the rift will be in the store in a year. Don't think that means to the day, could be some on the 12th month, some the month after to spread it out, ect.
I'm not sure what rift they decided to start doing this, and not sure if they would automatically include all cosmetics from previous rifts, but if it hasn't been in the store in a couple years, it may never be. Shame, thats a nice shirt, and I main Ace :(
Side note, you used the word Tome, and I was saying rift. So I wasn't sure if you were just saying tome instead of rift, sometimes people use them interchangeably, or if this cosmetic wasn't actually in the rift like I assumed, and it was a cosmetic that would actually be earned in a page of tome challenges like they've been doing recently with event tomes for Halloween and stuff. If thats the case, I don't think cosmetics from such tomes will ever be in the store. I could be misinformed, but thats my understanding of event tome cosmetics limited to that tome only.
I think the things from event tomes will be put into the store, or at least the full outfits will. In past Rifts, David & Nurse's blighted/halloween outfits were on there, and then added to the store just in time for Halloween. They did that for some ugly sweaters too, when they were accessed by codes during the advent calender thing they had.
I think it's extremely likely that Mikaela's witch Halloween outfit from the Midnight Grove event would be put into the store for the Halloween season of 2022. As far as I know, it's her version of the Vigo/Blighted/Halloween outfit with Event rarity. It'll be a year old by that time, and then they can charge an individual price for it, instead of making it challenge-based.
For the Haddie & Dredge outfits, idk. They're not just neat recolors like Claudette, Slinger, David, and Wraith had from years 4 & 5. They're very unique and cool models. Plus the fact that Haddie and Dredge have very few items as it stands, they might actually return if BHVR knows it will sell.
-
So far, they've only added the three-piece outfits to the shop. The Rift is almost 3 years old now, so there's lots of precedent that this will stay exclusive. Even though all of those items are recolors, it's always a bit of a bummer.
Which 2 dwight & claudette items are you talking about btw? Are you sure they were from a Rift?
-
We waited many moons for the Jeff drip, and finally have been answered.
I'm gonna use that hat on so many different combinations.
-
New players are gonna still use Self Care even in its nerfed state. Prepare yourselves, everyone.
-
Rapture from Bioshock (because that's my dream DLC)
I think BHVR could really do the creepy underwater atmosphere justice.
-
I fell off once they reduced the Rift Fragment grind from 800 xp to 500 xp. The last one I had 100% in was like a year ago, I don't think I'll ever catch up ngl.
Some of those challenges are pretty annoying, and even worse now that they've long since past, and the general playerbase won't know you're trying to achieve a particular challenge. (Clown challenge where you purposely invigorate the survivors 😐️)
-
Probably Dwight because Bond & Prove Thyself are still GOAT perks for me, even after all this time.
And probably the Resident Evil chapter, because Nemesis perks got some love, and the survivor perks are either fun or help new players.

buff disguised as a nerf
I'd rather keep the 33% bonuses that Botany Knowledge had. No need to make it 50% speed, no need to add a 20% penalty.
To me, this whole thing was a nerf when they removed the 33% efficiency just so they could add a 17% and offset the Self-Care penalty.
