I think we're officially reaching too many licenses.
-
It's all down with Freddy.
-
Memes aside, I hope it happens.
Just for the sheer fury it generates.
-
I understand that you gotta do whatever little thing you can to help, but i'm not sure how many russian soldiers are playing DBD.

Oh s**t how’s it been bro?
I've clocked in about 120 hours on Elden Ring so far, so pretty damn good.
-
I always hear about it but never get it.
Wish I did.
-
It's like a retroactive stand still mindgame, except it's actually a mindgame this time.
I love it.

You better take that back

What was bad about him? Surely he’s more interesting than what he is now.
I know current Freddy is an absolute snoozefest (heh), but please believe me when I say that old freddy was pure beige cube simulator levels of interesting to actually play.
He was literally just an M1 killer that took forever to hit you and made everyone else take forever to do things.
It was bad, man.
-
Tiffany says no.
Look at that regal, disapproving look. She was there back in the old days, she didn't like what she saw.
-
I discovered DbD back in the days of old Freddy, and as someone who experienced him--
P l e a s e don't.
-
Would've been better if Trappy was doing a flying elbow drop from the top floor onto Artist.
-
Very interesting.
Now look at my dogs.

Fingers crossed.

You misspelled balanced games. If you think killers have the power in the game currently I don't need any further arguments from you. I don't even play killer and know that survivors run the game for the majority in high MMR currently.
Golly goodness gravy I wonder where all the Nurses and alch crow Blights and shackle Hags are gonna go once we implement Ranked.

It's actually exactly what you said, except exactly the exact opposite of that.

It’s not a COH but a boon problem.
It's actually the exact opposite.

Sure, as long as survivors can't depip from a game cut short and killers don't lose MMR from escapes after an early gate open.
-
All they had to do was either remove the self heal or make the self heal speed 32 seconds, same as Self Care.
-
It'd be cool if they cut the pallets in half and added some windows so it's like an actual map.
-
Were you cloaked the whole time?
You can't initiate a chase while invisible.

I feel that.

I would. I'm in red all the time already. I would continue to play it because it would be the most challenging for me.
Edit: Also, it wouldn't matter if they did or not. The two modes would be a part of the same game. People would still be playing the game overall. No loss for the devs.
You would. But the majority of people are frustrated with high level play.
Unless there's some kind of reward, prestige, or actual rebalancing of the game to be fun and fair at high levels, all those high skill players are just going to go queue up for casual and stomp on whoever the baby mode gives them.
-
@liquidlight said:
They just need two types of modes: Casual, where there are no ranks at all, and Ranked, where there are ranks. That would solve a lot of issues, I think.
But really, I don't think they're that concerned with the top players. The point is to bring in new people and get them playing long enough to buy some things. As long as they can satisfy the fresh blood and keep them playing for a while, or get them hooked since the game can be addicting, then that's what matters. If they have things that will scare away new players then they lose money. Money is the end game for the creators. Not our feelings.
Edit: For the record, I'm not saying that as if it's a bad thing. Anyone who has created something would want to make money from it. That's sort of the point in the majority of cases.
No one would play ranked.
-
I like the implication of not making obvious fixes for your game locked behind perks, but i'm pretty sure they'd screw it up.
-
I'd rather they just deleted the self heal aspect, but hey.

Nope. That only works on the bog standard delaying tactics. When the survivors are determined, they will usually go to gates at opposite ends of the map just to make you deal with two BM parties. If you’re lucky, they’ll have fireworks to blind you in time for one survivor to get past you and search for the hatch, where they will kindly wait for you to escort them through. This has happened multiple times to me. It’s almost to the point where survivors get an undeserved “thank you” when they DON’T waste time at the exit gates.
I have literally never experience such sheer coordination from the survivors just to make sure you can't just push them out within the two minutes. If they were just waiting at different gates, you could absolutely push them out in under two minutes. If they tried to make it take longer, they'd have to put themselves in danger and you can still at least try.
But yeah-- time wasting you can't speed up sucks and is awful. Even if it's infrequent.
Like being bled out.
That's what I was saying.

@Journeywalker said:

Bringing up bleed-outs is whataboutism. One form of BM doesn't excuse another. There's also the vast difference in frequency. How often do bleed-outs occur? If the killer is slugging, there's always Unbreakable. There's no perk to counter survivors intentionally wasting time, whether it be at the exit gate or on the last gen.
I'm not the one who brought it up, i'm the one telling the guy downplaying how much it sucks that he at least has options. They're both trash.
And i've experienced multiple bleedouts, personally. But even if it was 100 butt dance parties per 1 quad bleedout, it would still absolutely blow for all the poor bastards who absolutely don't have it coming, and the fact that there's absolutely nothing you can do to speed up that 4 minute timer is a disgrace. The perks that could help can either only be used once, rely on the killer bringing a perk of their own or is a polite way of throwing the game for your team.
And there is a perk to counter survivors wasting time at the exit gates.
It's called M1.
You can l i t e r a l l y just hit them out. It will work every time, without fail. You don't have to wait the entire 2 minutes, there's nothing stopping you! Yes, you have to expose yourself to the butt dance and strobe party, but you at least have the option.

I think they are the exact same.
At least with the old system, survival wasn't literally the only emblem.

OH NO!! MULTIPLE TIMES!!! How about Every. Single. Game. Survivors sit at the exit gate and waste two minutes, maybe a little less when they figure out I am not going to the exit gate for their ground humping dance or strobe light party. I would take a four minute bleed out every 5 to 10 matches than 2 minutes every game.
To the OP, just wander around the map kicking pallets or breakable walls. You also can spam some killers' power to get a little extra BP during this time. Or just hang in the basement and go get a drink, look at YouTube, read the forums ;p
The tbags don't project an impenetrable force field, dude. You don't have to wait the full 2 minutes, you're fully capable of hitting them out.
You just don't want to.
You have to wait the full 4 minutes of a bleedout.

It does, but it's bad at doing it.
Escaping can determine skill, but it shouldn't be the sole indicator.
Kills can determine skill. Someone who 4K's for 50 games is obviously pretty skilled.
But someone who 8 hooks with no perks is also pretty skilled. Ergo, Kills are also a factor of skill, but just like Escapes, they don't tell the entire story.
So something like the old rank system.
Which I actually think was way better than the current MMR system.
-
@Pulsar said:
Maybe we could look at why people hate MMR instead of punishing them.
I'm not excusing smurfing, but it's really just indicative of a larger issue.
Also, maybe make the MMR actually determine skill.
How are people smurfing if MMR doesn't actually determine skill?
-
If they can't improve them (i'd believe it), they could at least make the zombie instantly respawn if their coordinates haven't changed while moving for a few seconds.
It couldn't be that hard to do.

Okay you know what, i will give you the whole "They dont like finding out they're exposed the hard way." And i appreciate an actual original complaint. And I actually have no answer for it that isnt "well thats the thing about all hex perks right? You dont know its there until its too late minus ruin." And to me that sounds like a lazy argument on my point. Thank you for that.
Yup yup.
I don't particularly care about NOED, but I can see why people run it and why people don't like it.
Personally, I think it and a lot of other dumb perks (like Dead Hard) would be better changed to be more interactive with a reasonable level of strength. And so people would shut the hell up already.
-
People don't like finding out they're exposed the hard way.
"I can make it to the X, I'm healthy, I can take an M1-- oh, nevermind."
You can't know you're exposed until it's too late, so it feels like you just got robbed.
And I don't know what you're smoking, people can't stop complaining about Survivor "second chance" perks.

The thing is - there are plenty of other groups also looking for killers.
The fact that I've been getting literally instant pops even at silly hours (5am!) while my survivor queues are long enough for me to clean the lounge while I wait is quite something.
I get near-instant survivor queues in the mornings, then it swaps around in the later hours.
Presumably, the evening is when a lot of people get home from whatever they're doing and queue up with their friends.

His Mori is just him doing the entire Schadenfreude taunt while you lie on the floor and you die on the spot from shame.

Because survivor is good and killer is bad.
That's the BHVR logic.
Can't blame them tbh as they want to keep the majority of the playerbase happy so they will buy more survivor cosmetics 🤷🏼♂️
@SunsetSherbet said:

Because they do things like nerf twins, clown, nemesis and then buff survivor wiggle in the same patch, while not dealing with problem perks people complain about, and instead discussing how they'll make solo survivor super strong before buffing killer.
Optics matter and when you do stuff like that, it paints some bad optics. When you have a patch nerfing a D tier killer and NOT nerfing COH or DH, and also buffing an entire survivor mechanic, people are going to notice and they're going to start feeling the devs are one sided. The only other way I can interpret the latest patch besides "devs are blatantly survivor sided" is "devs are so out of touch that people with 20 hours know more about the game than them."
Mm yes, survivor good, killer bad. That's why they nerfed a mediocre Twins addon instead of Alchemist Ring or MDR or DCR or Compound 33 or Rusty Shackles.
This is the only explanation.

God I hope Mother's Dwelling gets made not garbage.

I could clothesline the Trickster's twink ass into next year, buddy.

His power would be ranting on the forums about their precious game getting tainted and how no one cares for about 9 paragraphs.

I'll scoff if I get unhooked without BT right in front of the killer who beelines for me, but I don't really care if they do. It's a strat.
If they start hitting me on hook or something and make it clear they're doing it because they hate me for some reason, that's when it gets funny.
-
Yup.

The fact that BM is considered 'bog standard' in this game is honestly pretty tiring in and of itself.
I've been gaming for decades, and this community has a knack of getting under my skin in a way that few have ever managed.
BM is bog standard in every game.

I've seen a few people say add a hook requirement which I think would be ok if they bring down the amount to get to t3 and maybe mess with the ms.
If I had to guess I would say it's because it only catches one survivor by surprise and then can be countered pretty well just a guess though.
I say just turn it into a whole different kind of addon and give Myers buffs across the board.
If the way you play around it is to immediately hop onto his shoulder in a 3v1, it's not healthy.
