  • How about something simple. We just finished up the anniversary event and people are burnt out some since we all want those sweat sweat cakes.

Legion gotta go. That's my only thought.

This. Legion is a problem. Basically running around getting free hits. The frezy needs to be toned down for 2 v 8.

  • In addition to the things listed above the color palette is causing my eyes to hurt. Played three games on this map and each time started to get a headache.

  • Correct me if I am wrong but initially I thought challenges were intended to get players to try out different playstyles, different characters, different perks, practice being chased, etc. Currently there is a ton more knowledge about the game, and a tutorial, so maybe the challenges as a whole need to be reworked.

  • I have had it happen a couple of times. Usually after a quick down at the beginning of a match while I am playing an unpopular killer. Anyone who has been playing knows there are a lot of hacks etc. out there. After you play awhile you can see how prevalent it is. Most of the cheaters use "small" hacks like auto dead hard or minor buffs to speed. But there are the DDOS and also the straight up hacks, lag switches, insta-finish gens, flying, etc. In the moment it is frustrating, sometimes funny, but I just move on to the next match. I also turned on cross play and that has helped.

  • I think Clown is implied to be one. His mori show's him sucking on the severed finger so it isn't a big leap to think about what he does with the rest of the corpse. I think the clown in a diaper would be great, I would have to seriously consider changing from Mr. Puddles to a giant baby running around, btw the bladed rattle would be a must!

This is a terrible idea, because if you do that you still would need to design new costimetics to the new prestige 9 (i think it's 9 where you get the bloody comestics again), so they would still need to design new cosmetics.

A better thing that an ugly portrait would be at least 2k Iri per P3, it's better than nothing and the players could buy something in the store to show in-game at least (I don't think it's a good solution but it's better than nothing, right?)

The whole point is it is something in the game that is already unique to people who have P3 their characters. Who said anything about a new cosmetic for P9 or whatever.

  • One simple solution would be to disable the P3 cosmetics after the new system goes into effect. This way you don't need to design anything new and people have something they can "show off" in game.

  • I agree. I have had the spectrum of teams so far. At the beginning there is a rush to get the event rewards and then it slowly becomes a farm after the first few days. There seems to always be more activity during events and some of those players don't understand you want to let them farm after two hooks on each of them. For example, I had a Blendette, I happened to look before the game and they had about 50ish hours. I found them hiding in a bush. For at least a full minute I hit the gen next to them and tried the make them understand I see them and they can do their objectives. They just held fast "hiding" in the bush. Eventually, I left them and indicated to the rest of the survivors they could farm and they finished the gens and everyone was able to get out.

There also is no rule you have to cooperate for BP farm. People like to play normal and that is fine also.

  • Not at all. As a killer it creates some good suspense, am I going to get there before it pops? I appreciate the commitment to the objective on the survivor's part..

  • I have it but only when I play killer. Been playing a lot of survivor since new challenges came out and not once have I stuttered or rubber banded. Really sucks when you are in chase about to get a hit then all of a sudden you stutter and end up several meters behind where you appear to be behind. This has been brought up a bunch and I have no idea why it hasn't been fixed. No it is not my computer or my internet connection. I have played a bunch of other games with more demanding specs than DBD and it doesn't happen. Pretty embarrassing that it isn't being addressed since it started with the last patch and it seems to have been buried.

  • @ShinobuSK said:

You payed for the game so play how you want. Unless its not against the rules, you can do what you want.

But why would you talk to enemy team after the game? I never understood why people care so much.

This. My enjoyment of the game when up very much when I turned off end game chat.

  • A little while ago the DC penalty was removed. The DCing was horrible. If there isn't any kind of penalty to dissuade people it will get out of hand. Five minutes isn't bad. If you are DCing more than that it is on you. It sucks for everybody when that happens but it is what it is.

  • NOED is a common perk so a lot of newer players get it pretty quickly. It is strong but unless you are using and end game build I think people move on to other perks that will be more useful so the doors do not get powered. Also, if you are newer and doing the Tomb challenges there is one or two, I can't remember, challenges that you need to sacrifice survivors using NOED during EGC. Not saying this is the case for all the matches but it could factor in.

  • This is a horror game. What is more iconic than a dark and scary basement?

  • "All Bubbas Facecamp"

  • Cujo, who wouldn't want to play as an evil St. Bernard?

  • As stated in other posts after a certain amount of time the system just puts survivors in with any available killer and MMR is thrown out. So would you rather play a match or wait 30 minutes for a killer in your MMR? This is the result of a smaller killer population.

  • @Carrow said:

Did you play survivor to see if the other end of the spectrum is just as broken?

It happens to survivors also. I have been matched with survivors, I'm a killer main, that have single digit hours in the game and it's obvious they have no idea what's going on. It is a bad introduction to the game.

  • I saw TCM at 6, I am fine......

  • If survivors get BT base kit I think Killers should get NOED as base kit.

  • Yes, but I am worried she will basically be a reskin of Spirit/Nurse/Plague.

  • Ok thanks for the clarification. 😀

  • He is fine. He is my second most played killer. There is a lot of counter play if you don't get stuck in the open or looping around short walls. LOS him and loop him around tall walls and you will be good. His knives are not super accurate, go play a couple games as Huntress then play Trickster and you will see what I mean. Also, there are a large amount of people who come from and continue to play FPS so their aim is pretty good.

  • I had this bug a few months ago and it didn't fix itself. I received my bp reward ion the middle of the "season" and had to level up my rank again. I reported and nothing happened.

  • I noticed that some maps have hooks on upper levels that were not there before. It looks like they are addressing this but not all maps have been finished. I think if they took away the 25% from falling and all would be fine.

  • I think they need better cosmetics, I always wanted Charlette in a wedding dress, with a veil, and Víctor in a tux with a top hat. If that doesn't increase pick rate I don't know what will! There is also a lot of people who want a Child's Play chapter, they could drop Charlette and reskin Victor as Chucky, that is if they can get the IP.

  • @ScottJund said:

Great now go over the point where none of this matters because player imbalance resulting in long queues causes all matchmaking to be ignored despite how accurate the number assigned to you is.

This needs to be addressed more. I think this is a cause of a lot of frustration. We have this "skill" system but if the ques are too long they SMMR score is thrown out and you are put in a match.

  • @GannTM said:

Spirit is a great killer that is fun for both sides. So why doesn’t anyone play her? Like I said, she’s fun, fair, and has interesting add ons that change up the way she plays. Her kill rate and pick rate has dropped significantly in this most recent killer stats chart which is saddening to see.

I guess I kind of do understand why people don’t play her anymore, it’s because of the nerf that barely impacted anything except the stand still mind game. It’s been 3 months since that nerf hit live and I still am doing fine with her.

I had to post this because I don’t think I’ve seen Spirit as survivor in like a month and that’s not ok.

Due to your passion I decided to re-visit Spirit. I am having a blast!! I think I will be maining her now!! One more Spirit floating around! 😁

  • I find these posts interesting even if they are bait. I love the statement that playing against the same two killers is boring. Well if people would stop asking for every killer to be nerfed then there would be more viability for playing other killers. I think most killers do want to play other killers at high MMR but you are at such a disadvantage that the more competitive killer players want to be on a level playing field.

  • @Carth said:

    CoH: Check

    SWF: Check

    Overpowered addons: Check

only 3-4 killers being viable vs a team of anyone paying attention and with good game knowledge: check

Survivor mains: "Why do the queues take so long???"

I broke my rule and tried to play a game on Friday night and this happened. For all the complaining about camping and tunneling it amazes me that survivors want five minute games. I guess this is what survivors want, an M1 repair simulator. No Friday nights for me, enjoy the que.

  • @Igbylucy said:

I’ve been bled out as a survivor multiple times. It goes both ways. If you can’t stand it then don’t play. And to add to that I love it when I’m last to be sacrificed on the hook and still getting hit by the killer. What do you call that?

OH NO!! MULTIPLE TIMES!!! How about Every. Single. Game. Survivors sit at the exit gate and waste two minutes, maybe a little less when they figure out I am not going to the exit gate for their ground humping dance or strobe light party. I would take a four minute bleed out every 5 to 10 matches than 2 minutes every game.

To the OP, just wander around the map kicking pallets or breakable walls. You also can spam some killers' power to get a little extra BP during this time. Or just hang in the basement and go get a drink, look at YouTube, read the forums ;p

  • @SpitefulHateful said:

Why do people latch to the entire "private Steam profile" thing? Mad because they can't smear their verbal feces over the user's profile?

Name checks out. Mine was set to private when a group of SWF decided to spam my steam account with nonsense. It's one thing to trash talk and insult in post game chat, I have turned that off awhile ago, but it is completely different to take the time to spam a steam page.

  • I go straight to emersion, "they had a massive heart attack and died from the horror!!!"

  • NOED is fine. One thing to remember is there are one or two challenges that you need to use NOED to complete. If you play against newer killers they may just be trying to finish that up. With the current matching system you don't really know who you are going up against. I main killer and don't really use it. As others have stated usually you get one down with it since experienced survivors will usually run around the map to put it out. I think the perk can be frustrating for newer players but as you learn the maps and have a good idea where totems spawn on each map NOED gets less value. Finally, NOED is a general perk so it can be obtained rather early depending on the RNG of the bloodwebs.

    One last thing about NOED:

    1. It is "fun"
    2. It is not "overperforming"
    3. It is not "over used"

I couldn't help myself with that last part. 😀

  • I get so much hate filled slurs in end game chat when I play Trickster it is sad. I don't see how removing a slightly darker colored mask is truly addressing the racism in the game. If that is the true intent some other serious changes need to be made. This feels lazy .

  • As a killer main I don't think 99%ing the exit door is an exploit. I think there should be some sort of regression. Maybe a killer perk at some point that causes the exit doors to start regressing when not in use. I think there are much bigger issues than this.

FF sure seemed to sap much of WOW's playerbase and bored players off.

You are right about FF. I think it was streamers who "pushed" a good amount of players to FF from WOW. To me FF and WOW are pretty similar and I think a good deal of people are starting to migrate back to WOW. Same thing with New World. Huge couple of months, now it is a wasteland. I think most of us have a love/hate relationship with DBD. Even with all the arguing, myself included, I think we all want a healthy, fun and fair game. Unfortunately we all have a different idea of what that would look like.

  • I think VHS will do fine for about a month then will become a niche game with a low player base. As an example I played WOW for a long time and every new MMO that came out was the WOW killer. Guess what, they only thing that has "killed" WOW is the direction of the game and people who have played for 16ish years are finally done. Not another game. The same will happen with DBD, it will be fine. People usually go back to what they know. Also people who have invested a lot of time and money don't easily abandon a game once a new similar game comes out.

The only one I can think of is that the survivors are seen en route or just swarming the hook.

    What other ones are there?

When the offerings are shown and there are several Altruisms revealed. That means they want saves and they will be coming for unhooks. Why chase when the prey comes to you?

  • Cannibal for sure. They have BBQ which is almost a must for a very long time. Also by leveling up Cannibal first you can make BBQ available in all your bloodwebs for other killers or prestige levels. If you are talking about base killers I used Trapper. He makes you learn the maps so you can put down traps in well travelled areas.

Nope. It's not BMing. I just find it hilarious that people are ok with standing at the exit gate for 2 minutes asserting dominance. But the second someone wastes their time by slugging them out. It's a problem

I want people to keep that same energy. If you're not ok with getting slugged. Then never stand at the exit gate until the final tick. Never make the killer force you out if it's unnecessary. Leave if you know everyone is safe.

I agree it is BM but as I have stated in other posts your four minute wait, once in a blue moon, is nothing compared to the constant sitting at the exit gate teabag fest EVRY SINGLE GAME. A couple weeks ago when DBD was available in the EPIC store there was a large influx of new players. It was pretty obvious in some games all the survivors were pretty new. I tried to play "nice" with them because I know how difficult it is to learn the game. Guess what? The ones who survived teabagged at the exit. I think they teach that in the survivor tutorial.

The Entity, if we were forced to go lovecraftian, would be closer to YogSothoth or Shub-Niggurath than Cthulhu.

They enslave mortals, feed on psychic energies, and create worlds and homunculi to serve their purposes.

That is a good call. I also thought it was similar to the Mist in the Ravenloft campaign setting in D&D. If you haven't heard of it, it basically is an unknown , well entity, that is drawn to acts of evil and cruelty. If it takes an interest in a person the Mist will come in and "take" the person to a new realm. The Mist creates duplicates of their home and them watches to see what happens. This seems similar to the special maps some of the characters get like Autohaven for Billy for instance. Just fun to think about.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/299479/the-snowman-shows-again-that-the-devs-hate-killers

It's not a 3rd health state they literally sacrifice all the distance they had to be put in a situation where you gain an easy injury or down, if you're getting outplayed by the snowman theres a big problem with the way you're playing the killer, especially when you lose a chase where they literally hand themselves to you in the middle of it. But I know it's pointless to have this discussion because you don't see it that way and that's totally fine, I really wish I could block a few people's posts on here I'm tired of seeing certain people cry constantly.

What OP is referring to is you are in chase and closing and there is a snowman and the survivor jumps in. When a killer hits the snowman it destroys the snowman but the survivor takes no damage. It is situational but I have had it happen a couple of times. It isn't terrible but once again a mechanic that favors survivor.

You seem to be under the strange impression that BHVR actually care about you and your experience. They have your money, they are not interested in you unless they can ram DLC in your face.

I am a long time gamer, I won't say how old, let's just say that I played Quake and Doom, when the main way of playing multiplayer was to take your PC to a LAN meet. At that time you bought a game and that was all you needed, there was no DLC, no skins, no loot boxes, you played. Updates would come regularly with bug fixes and new content free of charge, either by the net or by CD Rom. You would play the game for years, in fact Quake still has servers running, look at CSGo.

Then games became this regular source of income. Game quality started to deteriorate and DLC, Loot Boxes and extra paid content came the new way. A bit like timeshare, why sell once when you can sell over and over.

So the question comes as which is most profitable, look at EA's model. Fifa, gets released as a brand new game every year, but the old ones still have bugs. Look on Sims 4 forums and see the bugs they have, yet they have a multitude of Expansion, Game and Stuff packs all at extra cost. BHVR have released Pinhead and Mikaela in the last couple of months and are now set to release another DLC. There teams are working on this because it makes them money, release fixes to improve your game does not. The new MMR system proves that people who play do not matter, because it is designed to help new players.

Even the new killer and survivors help new players. Spent years learning how to loop? Well forget that because we have a killer to kill loops, a killer that can trap you in the shack and your only way out is death. Playing survivor but constantly hit because you are new? Here are some boons to help, one to stop you leaving tracks, one to help you heal and a new one that helps you up when you have recovered. You don't have to be able to play to win, you just have to pay to win. If you are winning, you don't care about the bug.

I posted a thread an asked BHVR to actually respond to what they are doing about the bugs in the game, if anything and met a wall of silence.

    I wonder why that is.

You're right. Also just wanted to say it is nice to see original Doom players still around. ;) and those LAN parties were awesome!

just let us suicide like cmon bro problem solved, PeOpLe ArE gOnNa TrOlL wItH iT... It isnt a huge problem but its a big waste of time to loop the ######### out of a killer and clap them then they decide to let u bleed out i mean sure i can watch youtube but like bruv get a life...

i mean honestly nothing more satisfying then dying to noed at end and just have ur body camped for 4 mins <3

So how much killer time have you wasted sitting in the gate area during EGC? As a killer main I have probably lost hours of my life waiting for survivors to leave during EGC. WeLl JUsT ChAse ThEm Out! Well there are two gates and they can be really far apart and then you get to enjoy another round of teabagging. If you are a survivor just leave, you won, congrats. let's all move on. Nope, survivors feel the need to stand at the exit gate, teabag and wait until the last possible second to leave. Standing in the EGC exit area happens EVERY GAME that I don't 4K. Even if it is a 3k and the last survivor is on death hook they will stand around and teabag, at least in this scenario I can chase them out. I have probably let people bleed out a handful of times if they had very BM like tea bagging after every thrown pallet, clicking constantly, spamming over pallets, etc.
