Yeah but SWFs strongest thing is the voice communication; up to the second callouts on where each person is, where the Killer is, what the Killer is doing, if the Killer is stealthed (Ghostface, Pig, etc) (which, by the way, complete breaks said Killer's powers), if the Killer is heading towards someone, etc.
As long as SWF has THAT MUCH information in a game made for having 0 communication; SWFs will continue to win and steamroll.
But, if Killers are balanced for that? SoloQ becomes literally unplayable. So the only answer is to give SoloQs voice comms. Then the game can be balanced around the thing & if someone decides to mute their teammates or not use a mic; that's their choice.
Voice comms would be the theoretical perfect way to match SWF for Solos, but it does have a few problems that I think make a sort of quick notification wheel overall better.
If someone doesn't have a mic, doesn't speak the same language, or just plain doesn't want to talk to strangers (understandable), it doesn't do anything. And we all know how easy to abuse voice chat is.
But if you just had a response wheel that let you say things like "I'm on a generator!" "I'm being chased!" "I'm going to unhook!" ect ect, you'd get around all those problems. It naturally wouldn't be as good as pure unrestricted voice communication, but it would be a comfortable middle ground.

My point is. Survivors have so many bullshit unfair perks. Yet here we are asking for clown nerfs on an already ######### killer lol
Sure dude, delete whatever top five survivor perks are currently used for being lame.
Now can we agree that pinky finger is also lame and should be brought down? No one was even asking for him to get nerfed, just compensated for killing his extra dumb addon. I don't know where that came from.
-
Why is this even a thing that's happening?

Some folks enjoy pinky finger. It's just draining that all it takes sometimes to nerf things in to the ground is "my fun !!" But it's never about what's fun for killers to use.
I don't think pinky finger is all that bad to go against. Yet boons are unfun to face. Yet they remain untouched. DS and tbagged at the gate is unfun to go against. Yet DS exists in end game. Dead Hard is UNFUN and bullshit to go against. Yet it remains untouched
Yeah, people also enjoyed old Iri heads.
Things shouldn't be nerfed because they're not fun or else Hag would just be deleted from the game, but it's not a factor that should be ignored. The bigger reason pinky finger should be taken down is that it's head and shoulders above everything else Clown has and he himself should be brought up to a middle ground between it and him.
It being pure fun vampirism is a secondary thing.
-
First they came for Decisive Strike.
Then they came for Deathslinger.
And now..
-
@BrokenSouI said:
Oh no. Not the "fun" argument
But I mean like.
Pinky Finger is a fun black hole and killing the current Pinky Finger while making base-kit Clown not garbage is a pretty enticing idea.

Keys are the weakest item.
Nah.
Keys are insurance for the end-- they don't make you actively play like an idiot the whole match.
..not usually, at least.

Had roughly 3 games with 2 or more survivor with friends and how much that impacted each game is simply astounding.
2 games i had where i was picking up a survivor facing a wall, like directly in front of it and still get blinded with the flashlight user out of view. Even one game i got blinded through a shack wall, how is this a thing when you can't even move during pick up animation? It's just frustrating.
Not much i could do while chasing one person, another is close behind me and if i switch to the guy behind, the other takes his role. If i slug, they have unbreakable or soul guard, Along with other meta perks. Meanwhile the others are slamming gens left right and center, even if i go target them.
Why does this game not have an official tournament setting that people can opt into? That if friend's group up they're automatically placed into that mode instead of solo queue. It's what most games would do, and to create incentive, have outfits and cosmetics tied to tournament rankings for both sides. Instead of forcing people to play against premades where the likely result is bullying being the goal.
Because almost every killer would queue up against solos for near guaranteed stomps, and people would never get to play with their friends, because this game isn't nearly balanced or fun enough at the highest level for 99.9% of people to even consider a tournament mode.
Let's actually balance the game before we split it in half so you don't actually have to go against SWF.

You’re misremembering, “naming and shaming” implies “shaming”. Just naming is fine. Here’s the relevant bullet point from the forum rules
- If your post may reflect negatively on another person or people, please censor their name(s)

Dead by Daylight is a horror game for the first 10-20 hours.
It's a party game right after.

It says if your post reflects negatively.
If it doesn’t than it’s fine.
I remember people getting upset if names were shown at all.
Is this a new thing or is dementia striking back?

He’s not naming and shaming, he’s asking for advice on how to play Trapper on RPD
He isn't, but you still can't have names shown on your pictures.
-
I'd block out those names, by the by.
Naming and shaming and all that.
-
Make the self-heal speed 50%.
Now it's the best perk a killer can bring for every survivor: Self Care.

Because it looks funny, and I don't have a whole lot of other things to be doing on the ground.

Silent Hill 1 map, Silent Hill 2 killer, Silent Hill 3 survivor.
Full rep.

I have read exactly 0 responses to this post and I can only imagine how explosive they've been.

Same thing that happens when someone stands right inside a stalking Myers, probably--
no collision for either of 'em until they exit eachother's collision boxes.

If it's called No One Escapes Death.. why do people escape?

The devs have come out saying more than once they are committed to making the solo queue survivor experience to feel as rewarding as possible.
This obviously breeds a sense of entitlement and you'll come across a large player base that feels they earned their victory.
Anytime you even slightly inconvenience the players as an antagonist you'll see a large number of posts complaining about how your playstyle is unfair to them.
This sense of hindering their privileges is your bread and butter, your schadenfreude.
For ever T-bagger, for every flash light click, when you see them decry camping, tunneling, you're doing the will of the entity.
Endure, adapt, become the salt in their wounds.
Why are you an entire walking set of forum posts.
-
No, dude.
There isn't rhyme or reason or deeper meaning to people being asses on online games.
They can, no one's stopping them, so they do.
That's all there is to it.
-
-
Why do anything online if people being ######### is going to get to you so hard?
-
I laugh at it.
People getting angry enough at games to yell at me about it is absolutely hilarious.

Nah.

Ash...I don't know what it is, but when I see them they either tend to be sulkers who'll literally try to play hide and seek for an hour because you got an early kill, hackers or DC the second they see me.
Neas, yeah. Fengs...sometimes.
I'm usually a nice Doctor, as long as nobody tests me.
Honestly? Just the entire cast of female survivors. I don't know why the goblins gravitate toward the girls (probably the better cosmetics), but if someone's gonna butt dance, it's 80% them.
And I don't even know why specifically Doctors-- I just have terrible luck with them. Them and Hags, but that's a whole other can of worms.
-
I have literally never met a nice Doctor.
I have, however, met many good lad Onis.
Aside from the obvious, Ash, Jeff and Tapp are always welcome sights for me.
And the majority of the goblin population is made up of Neas, Fengs and Nancies.

See you tomorrow.

obsolete now that Shadowstep exists? Most aura reading is either predictable enough to avoid or so frequent you'd burn through tokens like I burn through fries.

Cause they really aren't as rare as everyone makes them out to be
I must be stupid lucky then, i've literally never seen one.
I had a guy who CJ tech'd my dumb ass in a SWF with flashlights, but they were affable enough to be befriended.

What really made me better at Oni is just going complete monkey mode, bambamming the first person I see and making game winning plays by complete accident.

@Sluzzy - I know you get a lot of crap from people about your complaints about killers, but I am genuinely curious if you have actually played killer before. If so, do stomp survivors or do you find it difficult/stressful to play killer? I know there are some really good killers out there, but a vast majority of those I’ve played against or the ones who comment on the forums seem to not think it’s as easy as you do. I’m just honestly wondering if you play killer and how easy or difficult you have found it. I play both sides and I find killer incredibly frustrating against SWF and manageable against good solos if you’re playing sweaty. Rarely do I have matches that are super easy where I am steamrolling survivors
I think I remember someone going and checking Sluzzy's DbD stats
and finding out they have one of the highest number of Nurse hits in the game.
-
Easy in theory, difficult in practice.
The most likely result of this is people finding the next group of perks deemed most effective, and then that's the new meta.
-
This is a revolution with all my fellow Killer comrades in mind and NOT me just lashing out.

The thing is - this isn't being done in isolation. Whenever I chase someone, they run to the 'safe zone'. They lose time, but it becomes a situation where it's nearly impossible to apply pressure or even end the game if they want to stall things out.
The worst one was a recent 4man on Eyrie who kept an Exponential/COH/Overcome boon at the 'rear' of the map, where there's only one viable hook. They 99'd the last gen and basically just sat there, keeping the hook sabo'd and bodyblocking/healing.
How the hell do you apparently keep getting all the SEAL Team 6 bully squads?
-
@StarLost said:
Without running niche, gimmicky perks just in case someone uses it. Wondering if some veteran killers have any solutions.
- Some maps, particularly Eyrie, RPD, Pantry, Badham and sometimes Midwich have hook spawns that create a situation where there is only 1 viable hook in an area of the map. SWFs/duos run a sabo build and basically have someone run to this area the second they are injured, and keep that hook sabo'd. This means that unless I'm running Agitation, it's either literally impossible to hook someone from that location or extremely difficult and easily preventable with even a small amount of bodyblocking. They'll typically set up a boon in this area too.
- Since that Tru3 video, a lot of survivor duos will run flashlights and immediately head to a dual locker. Unless I'm running Lightborn, this seems to make both 100% safe as no matter which locker I open, the other can immediately blind me during the animation. This not only allows basically any chase to be safely escaped, but also allows them to stall out the game for ages until their flashlights are drained.
1: They're not doing anything, chase someone else.
2: They're also not doing anything, chase someone else.
-
Just a crumb of attention, m'lord.
-
Low effort.

Ideally they'd lose enough points to ban them from DbD for life, but hey, nOt AgainSt tHE ruLEs IdiOt

i mean, i definitely still try in chase, and i get outplayed just as often as i outplay the people im going against, i just dont hard tunnel people or camp or use strong perks
@microppman said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2719092#Comment_2719092
the matches i get due to the strategy i use are 90% of fair in every way, fair chases, fair gen speeds, fair outcomes of the match, the only exceptions are games where i get literally smashed in every aspect
Which means you're not using the incredibly powerful tools and tactics you have at your disposal because you don't have to. The second you decide you want that 4k, you absolutely could, and all we have to take you on that you aren't is your word.
Which is what the MMR system you're clearly circumventing is trying to stop.
DbD isn't fun at the highest level, but seriously, just call smurfing smurfing.

@microppman said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2719071#Comment_2719071
i mean, im ranking down sure, and maybe im a better player then the survivors i play against now, but also i still lose a very fair amount to these survivors that i might have 4k'd if i had tunnelled and ran slowdown
sorry if you got this notif twice btw, im not sure how these forums work and i think you'll get this notif now
So you're ranking down to go against people you don't have to actually try against to win.
I don't know where you're finding the room to "yeah, but" here.
-
@microppman said:
i wouldnt call it ruining games, unless you drop down to low mmr and then start running good perks and playing sweaty again, but if you get the the lower mmr and then just play chill with chill perks i wouldnt call it smurfing
What would you call ranking down to get games against people you clearly outmatch?
-
No, she has to instantly kill you if you don't predrop the pallet from 30 feet away or else I won't get in my daily fitness holding W.

Theoretically, in a devs perfect match of 10 minutes~, each survivor will have been able to use dead hard 15 times each. 600s/40s.
What, if you just never ever run and Dead Hard every time you can for no reason? Sure.
-
How many times does someone Dead Hard a game?
